Aurelio's is another one of those Macomb institutions that has been here long before most arrived and will be here long after we leave. While a franchise location, you wouldn't know it by how it operates. On any give day you can find people from every walk of life there enjoying a meal. The inside of the place is usually clean as a whistle and this is true even on the busiest days. The place has plenty of seating and can hold over 100+ patrons at any given time. This is especially true on the weekends . Usually you are greeted at the door by the seater and the wait is usually little to none even on busy nights provided you come in with less than five people. After being seated the server will get your drink order right away and tend to your table quick. They are in a hurry sometimes to get your order in but they are polite about it. The menu offers the full run of pizza and calzone choices and has some pasta options as well. Their claim to fame however is their thin crust pizza variety, cut into little squares for everyone to share. They use mostly fresh ingredients from the tomatoes to the spinach. The sausage is a favorite amongst many as it is a fresh sausage that they put on in large chunks. It's a good thin crust that while having somewhat of a crunch to the edges is not cracker like in texture. They do a great spinach mushroom and tomatoes, as well as a respectable taco pizza. They have an array of the typical appetizers such as fried mozz sticks, etc; but it's their wings that I love the most. Is a unique wing that is breaded and has more Than enough spice to not need additional sauce. Paired well with ranch or blue cheese, it's one of the items I get every time I'm there. The portion is generous and reasonably priced. Now let me be clear and say it's a bit pricier than the chain joints in town, but it's worth it on service alone, let alone the higher quality of food. Their lunch all you can eat is a popular in town and is very cheap and more than worth it. Overall, after fifteen years in and around Macomb, the place has remained steadfast and consistent. On my personal "best of" list in the pizza category.

Sitting here at 1:40 with pizza from the "buffet" because the kitchen apparently closes at 1 in the afternoon. Value, kinda good. $7.81 for a salad and unlimited pizza from two warmers that have been rolled out from the kitchen. One of the four pieces I got was fresh, the others were cold and stale. I didn't eat them. Salad can hardly be called a salad. If I want a salad, I typically do not want lettuce, ham, and pizza cheese in a micro-bowl. Service was nice, our waitress was kind and speedy. Not exactly hard when your only menu item is pizzas from a warmer that you serve yourself with. Beer also flat. Honestly, as I write the review, I just get more and more pissed. I don't review often but felt inclined to because of the high level of suck. The quality of food is community college cafeteria level at best, and I strongly recommend you go to Chicks on the Square down the street instead. "That's not pizza though!" Too bad. You don't want this pizza. The thought of this pizza should deter you from wanting pizza. If you really want pizza that tastes like this, go to the store, buy a three dollar frozen pizza, bake that thing but DON'T EAT IT, but freeze it again. Reheat tomorrow, let sit for 40 minutes, and enjoy your Aurulio's POS pizza.

I have loved coming here to get their spaghetti and meatballs multiple times! The customer service here is also wonderful every time I visit. Although this time, I came in with my boyfriend for the "all you can eat" spaghetti and was disappointed after bowl number two because I saw the Parmesan cheese I was piling on was moldy! Disgusted that I had already ate a plate full of spaghetti and moldy cheese we obviously didn't finish eating our second bowl. I showed our waiter who then replaced it with a fresh one and took a charge off of our order. I just hope it doesn't make me sick, and I don't think I will be going back. If food publicly out in the restaurant is moldy and gross, how do I know what's happening in the kitchen?!

Just ok. I went there an hour and a half before closing and was (kinda rudely) told they aren't serving pasta dishes this "close" to close. I was disappointed because that's what I was planning on ordering. I instead got a hot Italian beef sandwich which was okay. It came with potato chips in a woven basket thing which was of questionable cleanliness. They looked grungy. Granted it came lined with paper, it just wasn't appetizing to look at. Otherwise not a bad place.

First. I'm biased because I worked there for over 8 years. Before that, I grew up on the pizza and pasta. Still my favorite pizza. Try the cheese tortellini with garlic cheese bread! If the sofa tastes flat, ask them to change the co2 canister in the back. ;-) They also have a playroom for kids. It's not much, but it'll keep them busy for 15 minutes.

We were there today for lunch and found out they had a buffet. After deciding to go with that we experienced a complete lack of customer service from anybody other then our server. He was the only bright spot for our visit at all. If we ever return it will simply be because of him and his level of service. A buffet should be kept full, especially of the items you claim are there; such as Taco Pizza and the soup of the day. We arrived at the restaurant at 12:20, there was no taco pizza then we asked about it and was told they only make a few of them and they are gone already. My wife got one bowl of the soup of the day, creamy potato, when she went back for more it was empty..Once again, we only make one batch of soup a day. Did I mention their Pepsi fountain was on the fritz and not working? After speaking with the cashier, who had a complete "I don't care" attitude, we asked for a manager who never appeared. The place was clean, and a good atmosphere just terrible customer service and didn't live up to their own advertising inside the restaurant. I should have known better then to eat at a buffet where everything was kept in a hot box and not out where it could be seen. I would once again like to thank our server for his exemplary service and giving us the only reason in existence to ever give this place a second chance at all.

If I could give this restaurant 0 stars, I would. The manager is the rudest man I have ever met! I will never eat there again.

The pizza is great here but the pasta was disappointing! I agree with the reviewer that said to think about this place in perspective as it is in Macomb rather than Chicago; that explains it pretty well!

Great pizza if you order it right. Generally, I think their pizza is over-cooked. I order mine with extra sauce and undercooked. Most of the wait staff is great. I also like their Italian sandwich and their half price chef salads on Tuesday. This is a chain restaurant with locations in Chicagoland, Indiana, Las Vegas, Ft. Myers, Marietta, GA, and Roseville, MN.

This pizza is so unigue we come here every year we come back to Illinois great specials good service I must give a quick review about Kevin. He went out of his way to help us with a special order. Kudos to you Kevin for your great service. That and the great pizza is what keeps us coming back.

Okay if you're comparing Aurelio's to pizza you can get in Chicago, it's not that great. But remember, you are in Macomb... 3+ hours from the closest Ginos, Lou Malnati's or Giordanos. Keeping that in mind, Aurelio's is a great pizza joint. They had this awesome creamy italian dressing-- mm I miss that! Great breadsticks, good pizza. This location is pretty easy to get to (right on the square) and nice for a low key dinner out. I don't think the Aurelio's in Chicagoland are nearly as good as the one in Macomb!

It's nostalgic to come here for me. It's old, it's by no means fancy, the kids playroom looks like a nightmare (but the kids are happy)... only lame, domestic beers on tap. But seriously the best pizza sauce in the Midwest. By far the best pizza in Macomb. I like sitting upstairs and spying on kids' awkward dates below!

The place has changed over the years. Pizza is about 3/5 stars, used to be 4 or 5 all the time about 10 - 15 yrs ago. Service is very variable. My husband called and ordered asking for the half-price special. The lady took the order. When he picked it up, it was full price. He paid for it anyway. I called up to ask if anything could be done, since the manager agreed with me that when he ordered he should have been told it was not half-priced night. She said it was my husband's fault since he paid for it, and they can do nothing since there was nothing wrong with the pizza. Maybe that's so, and my husband should have refused to pay (he is such a nice man). I was just surprised there was no sorry this happened, let us take care of you.

I've been eating here since 1989 when they were next to the old hotel on the same block. I've moved away from Macomb but go back here every time i'm in town. Monday night is buy one get the next half off. The pizza is unique and fabulous!! The ambiance can be a bit busy, but it's a collage pizzeria ... what do you expect? Great play area for the kids and easy parking. Sorry no valet parking :(

This place has an all you can eat pizza lunch for $6! It even came with a small salad... but I don't think anyone at our table ate the salad. They had two 6 foot high heater shelves full of different pizzas. I saw all the normal ones (cheese, peperoni, etc) plus some cool combination like a green pepper mushroom (tasty!). They even had a dessert pizza with cherry sauce that was pretty good. There was always a line of folks waiting for pizza, but they never seemed to be out of anything. Constantly replacing pizzas. All the pizzas I tried were thin crust, which is what I prefer. It was crunchy at the end, but not all the way through. They also have a regular menu, but who can beat a lunch so cheap? The staff was really friendly. Our waiter came by a few times and our empty plates disappeared quickly. When we paid the guy at the register started cracking jokes with us and told us to come back soon. With so much pizza and a location right on the square I'll be back for seconds.

This place serves up some really tasty pizza. Its far different from other types of pizza due to the blend of cheeses they use. They also serve the pizza on a cookie grate so the bottom isn't soggy. I go to Macomb once every couple years to visit family and see where my roots are from and this place is always my first stop for dinner. I have also always had good service and prices are fair. The place is large and can hold a decent crowd.

A decent pizza for Macomb. The atmosphere can be a little stuffy at times, but given the options for Macomb, this is a pretty safe bet.
