Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

This is a cute little cafe. The staff was very friendly and the food was good. It did take a bit but it seemed fresh.

Cute little shop, Lockport needs little cafes like this. Had one of their beef sandwiches - very good blend of spices and it was tasty, but it took an awful long time to get, maybe just a little faster service in this type of venue. Also tried some bakery items - not the best I have ever had, but you could tell it was homemade and they were tasty. On another note the day we were there, I think it must have been the owners kids that were there, but they were all slumped in chairs up front on their phones playing games and had to be told more than once to move to the back to make room for customers - I think if they can get that under control - this is a great place to come and have a bite to eat, but be prepared to wait for your food, but for sure give them a try.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this place! I was born and raised in Chicago, in addition, I have spent a good part of my adult life in San Francisco...And this cafe has that artsy city vibe that so many cafes want, but so few are able to achieve. The service is friendly. The food is tasty and is served in healthy portions. But the Homemade baked goodies are my favorite. The first time I walked into the place, not knowing a soul, I was treated like I was one of their oldest and dearest friends. It is a prime example of what we are losing with all the multi billion dollar chains that are taking over the world...The human touch. That elusive thing that can only be given when a person invests, not only money, but their heart into their business. I really hope they stick around. It would be a shame to see, yet another, small business close.

They have lavender syrup! Hooray! I love lavender lattes, lavender anything, so I am pleased as punch to have found a coffee shop that has lavender syrup - that isn't inconvenient. I had a lavender iced coffee, which is great enough as-is, but the extra special part is that the lady did NOT skimp on the syrup. This beverage was perfect! Coffee = 5 stars. I didn't really like the food. The menu is a bit of a mess; it's disorganized and lacks description. I asked what was on the "ciabatta panini," since the name only indicates that it is made with ciabatta bread, which shouldn't be a shock to the system since in order to make a panini you need, duh, bread. I ordered this sandwich with chicken, with was topped with tomato, spinach, and provolone cheese. The chicken was hot off the grill, the bread was hot and crispy, but the sandwich lacked flavor. Food = 2 stars. The pastry case was sad looking. It was mostly empty, and what was there didn't look too appetizing. At the moment, their fancy schmancy coffee machine is broken, so no hot water for hot tea, no lattes, no cappucino - this machine is currently being repaired in Italy. I'm not sure what to make of Old Towne Cafe. Being in the middle of sleepy, downtown Lockport, it definitely has a homey vibe, and I love the occasionally peace & quiet. They have Chicago classics like sausage and Italian beef on the menu, some Puerto Rican flavor with Jibaritos on the weekends, and emphasis on Italian things like "Italian" hot chocolate and that godforsaken coffee machine. It's a cute and cozy place, but it could use some focus and a fresh coat of paint. Honestly though, I could care less about the decor and subpar food. They have lavender syrup! They have just about every flavor available. They do close on the early side though.

"A great vibe." That's exactly what I felt the minute I stepped into this new Cafe, located just two doors north of the old Roxy theater in the heart of the Downtown Historical District. The sandwich board out in front heralded different menu specials of the day, but my visit was for coffee, pure and simple. I was greeted with a friendly "Hello" from the young man behind the counter as I made my way to the counter, and then asked what he could get for me. I told him and much to my surprise, he brewed my cup as I waited...nothing's just "warmed up" here. It just doesn't get better than that. This shop has kind of a Soho ambiance to it that I hope will catch on throughout the businesses nearby. The Olde Town Cafe is a breath of fresh air on State St, that much is for sure. Let's spread the love!

Delicious soups and wraps! My dad had an Italian beef combo and said it was awesome. I had a ham/swiss/mustard tomato and spinach wrap as well as a tomato bisque soup. Perfect brwakfast/lunch food. Bakery items as well! Try it out! Fast cheap and good!!!

This cozy establishment located on State Street, not only offers good food at a reasonable price, but it is a good place to just stop by for a cup of coffee with friends.

I love the cozy feeling when you walk in, and the staff is super friendly. I guess when I read "cafe" on a building I think of coffee, baked goods, pastries, etc. Kind of like a less expensive Starbucks. I wasn't expecting fast food. I decided to try it anyway and their food was not tasty at all! Definitely will not be back!

I am giving the 1 star based on the friendly staff. They were genuinely nice and I respect that. But I was really disappointed with the food. I went here based on other reviews and was very dissatisfied. My order took a very long time, and there was no one else in there waiting. Sometimes good food takes some time to prepare.... But it was just a corned beef sandwich and an Italian sausage sandwich. The corned beef sandwich reminded me of what my Mom would make for me in grade school. Just bread, meat, and mustard... That's it. The sausage sandwich was just a bun and an overlooked sausage. No sauce or anything. My pregnant wife ordered that, took one look and said "gross, I'm not eating that." I ate it and it had a decent flavor but was over cooked and dry without any sauce. Maybe this place has good pastries and coffee but the good reviews drew me in to try the food. There are so many better places to eat in town and it kind of ruined my day. If you are looking for a good meal this is not the place. But yes they are very friendly.

Super sweet owners/staff. Chicken Panini was great. The atmosphere is very relaxing and comfortable. They always have different sweets available - cake pops are the bomb. Prices are reasonable too.

Great atmosphere to stop and get some work done or hang out with a friend. The food is really good too. I had a corned beef sandwich on rye heated up on the panini press. It was delicious. Also had the cinnamon crunch muffin which was really good. The staff was really friendly. This ace fits right in with the charm of downtown Lockport. I'll be back often.

Such a friendly and inviting place. I love the cozy feeling of this small cafe. I had broccoli cheddar soup and fresh bread it was so good.

We DESPERATELY need restaurants like this in Lockport. We have a seriously cute downtown area with a lack of things to do. This fills a need perfectly. Great little coffee shop/sandwich place. I ate a sandwich and minestrone soup. Very good and homemade. Now, the oatmeal raisin cookies were outstanding!!!! So good. Not sickeningly sweet, tasted so fresh and HOMEMADE. Try it. Please.

Don't go here. Waited half an hour for lunch, they apologized for it taking so long numerous times, then she told me it took so long cause the ditka sausage i ordered was frozen because they don't sell many of them and it had to defrost... If it's not selling throw it away and take it off the menu. Don't wait for a schmuck like me to get it. It messed my stomach up. Take the 25 minutes you'll wait for food and drive somewhere else, far away.

I really like this cafe. The workers here are extremely friendly and really open up to their customers. The inside of the cafe is very relaxing and cozy. This is a perfect spot to grab a bite to eat and sip some delicious coffee. They have wifi which is a plus for the Panera type coffee shop crowd. I have tried the hot dogs here and they are delicious. They don't sit in a steamer all day long which I really appreciate. These are made to order. The soups which change daily are just so flavorful and savory that you swear your grandma was cooking them on the stove all day. They have weekend specials that are out of this world. Gotta try the pulled pork. The prices here are very reasonable and I had to do a double take to make sure I wasn't seeing things. Sweets are incredible as well. Glazed donuts, cupcakes, cake pops and pies are just a few you can choose from. The owner here is very accommodating and will make just about anything If you have a special request. Vegetarians are of course welcome as well. Stop in and say hi to Mary and the girls you won't be disappointed.
