I have only ever been here for the sushi, which I have to say is a little suspect in my book. WHERE do they get such awesome tuna in the middle of the midwest? I'm not sure that I want to know. I just know that it rocks my socks off and I love any of their maki rolls containing tuna. I am not allowed to go here for lunch any longer because the service is soooooooo slooooooow - often lunch here takes well over an hour. For example, we were there for lunch last week on Thursday and it took 2 hours from start to finish. It was a great lunch, but expect that you will be served on their pace - that's just the way it is.

I was craving for korean food that day. My friends go to this place, so i went as recommended, even though its out of my way (from bloomingdale). We were seated right away. The ambiance of Seocho, was good. Looked clean and nice. Our appetizer of shrimp tempura came after 15-20 mins of wait. It was ok, sauce was ok. Nothing special. The side dishes were good. The kimchi was good, not too spicy for my taste. The seafood soft tofu was good, except theres not enough seafood in it, compared to other korean restaurants ive been. The kalbi, bbq ribs, was tough to chew.. We just wrapped it to go, and its still sitting in the fridge waiting to be eaten. The serving was small. the kalbi was expensive for the serving size. Service was average. I could give them a 3 star. BUT! I was grossed out when after eating almost everything, I saw our server wiping her nose with her fingers, and wiping them on her apron, while waiting for food from the kitchen..she obviously have runny nose , and was sniffing and wiping her nose with her fingers as she do her waitressing.. but i didnt see her wash her hands!!..eewww...So im not coming back... ever...

All you can eat Korean BBQ-Excellent, everything was new to me and everything tasted awesome! I even tried the cows intestines, one little piece. Not a fan, wouldn't order it again, but hey I did it and it wasn't that bad. Our waitress helped us cook and showed us how to eat everything. The atmosphere is a little bland and simple, but everything else was great. Korean beer was also awesome! Would definitely recommend you try this at least once!

WOW! I just went there last week after bruising my butt snow boarding at 4 Lakes Resort in Lisle (right across the street!). After a long day going up and down the hills my crew built up a storm. Thank god we made a wrong turn because fate took us to Seocho Garden!!! The bulgoki was delicious, but that wasn't even the best part. The side dishes is what really sold me. They came free and included were 3 whole fried fish. The restaurant itself is a bit hidden in the strip mall, but on the inside its very clean and modernized. One thing I didn't try was the sushi...but maybe for another day. I'd recommend this for people who like authentic korean food. The side dishes may throw off some of the newbs...but go for it any way!

Excellent food and service, especially considering the price point. One of my favorites; rivals Cho Sun Ok on N. Lincoln Ave in Chicago. Go for the kalbi, you won't be disappointed!

We've never been to a Korean restaurant before but had Korean food at a Korean friend. We really liked the place, the BBQ (served with salad and bean paste and many other side dishes) and the service. We'll definetely go back. We also tried the sushi by Chef Seo, and sashimis were AWESOME!

First, a little background on myself...I'm half Korean, eaten at many Korean restaurants in the city, and have been to Korea. Considering this is practically the only Korean restuarant in the burbs, it gets decent ratings for convenience. I've gone a handful of times and the food has always been pretty good. The place is clean and portions sizes are very nice. The prices are average if you compare to other Korean restaurants. I've never had a bad meal. Some people say it's really good food while others say it is horrible...keep in mind that Korean food differs depending on regions of Korea. Every region may recognize bulgogi, however some may make it a little differently. Take the food here for what it is, don't compare....that should be considered at any Korean restaurant! Everyone's tastes are a little different - I don't like overly sweet bulgogi...to me, this place has sweet bulgogi, so I'm not a fan - but that doesn't mean it's bad! This place is definitely lacking service....if they could hire some staff, put a smile on their faces and be a little more attentive, this would be a 4-star place!

Why are there so few Korean restaurants out in the western burbs? Is it because all the Koreans are in the north suburbs or in downtown Chicago? I know a lot of Koreans out in the western suburbs, so I just don't get why there are hardly any K-restaurants out here. Well, I've been here a few times for lunch. The food is just marginally OK, although once it was pretty awful. I usually order the kimchi bokumbab, but I've had the kalbi, bibimbab, and bulgogi before. It's not great Korean food, but since there are hardly any Korean restaurants out in the western suburbs, what's a Korean to do? Now, if you're wondering why I would give one star for a restaurant that serves food that is OK, here's why and you might want to put on earmuffs for my ranting. The service can be downright pathetic and dismal, and even more so than the normal sullen, terse Korean service you get in the city. The last time I went, I waited 10 minutes to be seated....and there were only TWO customers in the restaurant and about 20 open tables! Then after I get seated, it took the server 20 minutes to come take my order. After I order, it took the food another 30 minutes to get to me. In the meantime, a group of 3 Korean men walked in, immediately got seated, orders taken instantly, and their food was out 15 minutes before mine. One of them ordered exactly what I ordered. I asked the server what was up with that, and she just gave me a blank look and said, "I'll check." Fifteen minutes later my food came out. Totally bullsh*t. Seriously, WTF. After I finished, I had to wait another 20 minutes to get my check. Nice. If you are wondering why I didn't chase down my server and get her to serve faster...it's because I couldn't FIND her. She spent most of her time hiding out in the kitchen or bathroom. I am pretty sure she was watching Korean videos back there. Anyway, the food is ehhh, but I am so, so, so pissed off about the service that I am laying down my rarely-given one star. They need to step up in service and not just reserve it for Korean men who walk in. I wish there were a little icon that could give a restaurant the finger, because I'd be clicking that icon several times right now.

There aren't enough reviews giving Seocho Garden the love it deserves. It's time to change that. I can only review the BBQ section since that's all I ever do when I go. First and foremost, Seocho is unique in allowing patrons to cook the food themselves on a burner built into the tables. Not every table has this option, so be sure to ask for it when you enter. The atmosphere is laid-back. Seocho is especially great in the winter if you do the all-you-can-eat BBQ. That built-in burner/grill WILL keep you warm. Speaking of the all-you-can-eat option, it's quite fun and allows you to decide just how you want your food cooked. The side dishes are authentic, so people who are not used to eating Korean food should try them if they want a taste of the real deal. As for the meats, kalbi and bulgogi are the most popular--and with good reason! No matter how you cook them, they have insane amounts of flavor and are even more tender than they look. You won't be able to get enough of the thin, pizza-like veggie pancake, either. Words do it no justice. The reviews stating that they received poor service due to not being Korean are difficult for me to believe. I have eaten here with both Koreans and very obviously non-Koreans (I am the latter), and we were treated just as well as the other patrons, both Korean and otherwise, on all occasions. Don't let a few disappointed customers prevent you from trying this restaurant. As long as you treat the staff with respect and a smile (as all restaurant employees should be treated!), the service is timely, friendly, and will not leave you disappointed. This is one Asian restaurant that is not watered down to suit local tastes in either its presentation or flavor, and that's just how I like it.

I try not to turn my nose up to places and will try anything at least once.. I love to take adventures when it comes to food.. I think I am pretty open minded..I hate to give bad reviews but this place was just TERRIBLE! The odor was just putrid and was kind of a signal to RUN out.. We did get seated and when we opened the menu there was nothing in english and the pictures were not appetizing at all... Unfortunately we walked out after a few pics of the platters in the menu. so i have to say i did not even stay to try anything on the menu.. :(

Since Seocho Garden came to Lisle, I no longer go to Chicago looking for authentic Korean food. The owner is the chef, and the food is always delicious. The meat they use for barbecue grill is always tender and juicy, it is one of the best cut of meat. The servers are very helpful in recommending the menu based on your preference. I always have a great meal there, it is the best Korean restaurant in Chicago area.

Above average Korean food for Chicagoland. I've been to almost all the Korean places in this area, but that's not saying much. Don't expect great service or bargain prices here.

All you can eat BBQ is the best value around. Sure service can improve but just look at them running around trying to help everyone. don't you feel bad? I think Korean food waiting is the hardest work in the restaurant biz! so much easier to just bring you sushi and come back and ask how's the food. Being a korean waiter/tress is so much more work and backbreaking. Doesn't help korean customers are not all that patient to put it mildly lol. Do the bbq. Other dishes are not mind boggling but good enough for me.

I understand that everyone has different experiences, but we had great service and the food was above average. I do agree that the decor was brutally dull, however the waitress was quite a dish - so it's a wash in my book!!!

Yes, good food in general. You can find good food anywhere though. Terrible service. Very slow, and some servers don't speak English very well or at all. Those are manageable, but on top of it they served us old meat. We ordered 1 order of korean BBQ, and they told use there was a two order minimumum on the korean BBQ. It doesn't say that anywhere on the menu or anything...anyways they said we COULD have only 1 order, but they have to cook it themselves in the kitchen instead of letting us cook it ourselves at the table. They brought us a plate that was obviously cooked several hours earlier. Nice one. Just find a different place to go to.

We have eaten at Seocho twice this month, and it was terrific both times. The complimentary veggie pancake was a delicious way to start the meal (even my kids liked it). I personally love Korean tofu soup, and the Soondoofoo chigae here is about as good as any I have ever had (and I've had this dish in many places, including NYC and LA). Although our servers at Seocho didn't always understand a lot of English, they were very gracious and helpful. Finding good ethnic food in the suburbs is a challenge, but this one is a gem. I look forward to trying out more dishes here!

Four stars simply because service can be hit or miss. As in the time it takes to get the next plate to grill when eating all-you-can-eat bbq. And I've had one waitress there who just doesn't seem to have patience. Otherwise all the younger wait staff are very accommodating, helpful in teaching you a bit more about what all the dishes are that are served, and mostly, they are attentive. Food - food is all good! Never ate here for anything other than the all-you-can-eat. It's $25-$30/pp for the Korean bbq. Have been several times. And will continue to go. Best Korean bbq close to me!

Went here for dinner last night because halmoni was craving Kim chee. We had the all you can eat BBQ and it was fantastic! A little pricey, but great quality food and wonderful service staff. Well, a little understaffed but responsive nonetheless. Will definitely be returning again before we leave Chicago. Their panchan was delicious, especially the Korean pancakes. Yum!

Will not go back. Went on a weekday at 5:30 pm and the service was slow. As soon as we walked in, I made eye contact and smiled at the guy sitting behind the front desk. He looked away. When my mom got up there, she greeted him. He barely looked at her and told us to wait. Did not gesture someone else to help us, only went back to his computer. Finally someone else came...definitely not what you'd expect from a restaurant, much less a Korean one. They are usually overwhelmingly polite. The food was mediocre. The bibimbap was not fresh, had barely any veggies. Soondubu had very little tofu even and minute seafood. Did not come with egg. (Missing serving utensils and individual utensils. Kinda embarrassing, the lack of attn to details.) Pancheon was maybe 3/4 of most places. But the service is the reason we won't be back. Throughout the meal they made us feel like they could care less about serving us. I had to flag them down multiple times for the check, and they gave us the wrong one. Tofu Village or the food court at H mart are way better!

I just ask myself one question. Would I come back? My answer would be no. The food was ok at best and service was slow. The ladies working the dining room were very overworked. If they had a few designated to either getting water, changing grills, bringing meat etc, it could sure improve the place. Basically I'll choose to spend my money elsewhere in the future.

SO MUCH MEAT. I've been itching to try Korean BBQ for a while now, and I was finally able to drag husband to try Seocho Garden. Located in a strip mall which, according to Google Maps, was impossible to find, Seocho Garden has two areas available: regular dining tables and the BBQ tables (which have a mini gas grill in the middle). We sat at the BBQ tables and ordered the AYCE. They brought out two plates of meat and side dishes... and more side dishes. The table was covered in side dishes. My favorite were the daikon strands, this pasty sweet stuff, and the kimchi. Husband liked the raw garlic and bean sprouts. There was so much meat that we started to get the meat sweats halfway through the meal. I recommend the bulgogi! It was so good that I plan on making it at home eventually. Once I find out how to slice the meat that thin. I usually just end up hacking mine to double death. Two stars off because it was pricey for what you actually got - $30 a person. And they do add 18% gratuity to the bill so be on the look out for that - we double tipped accidentally.

The only AYCE Korean BBQ restaurant that I know of in Naperville area. For $25.00 without tip and tax, the price is a little steep. I would only come here if you're starving and ready to stuff your face to get your money worth. I came here with a group of 4 guys, which means we kind of got our money worth. There's only 10 selections of meat, but if you try all of it, you'll be more than full. My favorite one was the marinated short ribs. I wish there was bone that came with the short ribs though. The next favorite was the brisket... it needs to be cut thiner so it's not so chewy. Service here is extremely 'slow'. Each plate of meat takes at least 5 minutes to come out cause there was only 1 lady serving the whole section of BBQ side. The side dishes also were refilled extremely slowly. I think this is part of their trick to not have you eat as much too. You know how it is, it takes times for your brain to register that you're full. Would I come back again... not sure yet... if I'm really craving for Korean BBQ, I might come again; otherwise, probably will not return.

I don't understand the 18% gratuity. I think I read a comment on there that it's when you have a large party, but we had a party of 2 for the all you can eat for $28 and was charged the 18% gratuity. It is a gas grill and not a charcoal grill. The lady serving us had left the flame on so low, our food was not seared properly. When we asked to turn the flame on higher, she dumped all of the Bulgogi onto the grill and said it has to be cooked all at once. When we asked to change the grill, another lady said that the grill is hard to clean and turned the flame back down. It was a rather typical experience in a Korean BBQ restaurant in my opinion. You, the patron is never right. We ordered the Bulgogi, which we thought was too sweet. The Kalibi was good. Well marinated. And Pork Belly was thin and had a little bit of cartilage in there which gave it a bit of a weird crunch factor. I think the meats were good, but they missed the seat and charcoal flavor. Their seasoned mushrooms were delicious. You also get to choose 1 of 3 soups. We did the one with bean paste and tofu, it was too salty in my opinion. There was a complimentary vegetable pancake, which I didn't care for. I thought it was flavorless. Loved the many banchans they provided. If you are in the South West suburbs and absolutely need your Korean BBQ fix, this place is decent for that craving. If you have time and can go the distance, I would still recommend finding something closer to K-Town for that charcoal taste.

Seocho Garden is one of the few Korean restaurants in the Naperville/Lisle area & one that's worth trying out. The food is fresh, delicious & they offer a good variety of dishes worth ordering. My parents, my husband & I have been here a few times & have had great meals at different times of the day. My usual go-to dish is dol-sot bibimbap & my parents & husband like to order a wide variety of soups, rice dishes, etc. There's plenty of ban-chan (side dishes) that come out before the main dishes arrive which is always a plus especially during busy hours. I have yet to try the Korean BBQ, but whenever we go, there's a crowd of people enjoying KBBQ even during the late hours. I'm glad SeoCho is one of the few Korean restaurants in my area - thank God their food is delish!

  • Renzy M.

The food here was really good, they had a nice selection of meats to choose from. We chose the all you can eat. My favorite was the kalbi. All the meat were marinated nicely in the sauce. The side dishes were also really, really good. There's two things I didn't like about dining here. 1, the service wasn't too great. They were kind of pushy on how we cooked our meat and kind of just dumped everything on the stove top to cook. After we would be done eating, we had to wait a bit for somebody to come back to ask if we wanted anymore meat. Also, there was a point where the fire went out on our stove top, so we weren't able to cook any meat and it took someone a really long time for them to finally check on us to relight the stove. 2, there's an 18% gratuity that's added onto the bill automatically. I wasn't very happy with this, because I wouldn't of given them that much since service wasn't that great.

My friend and I came to this place for dinner on a Thursday around 6. We were the first party to sit in the KBBQ section and by the time we finished eating, there were a few other parties in the KBBQ section. It is big enough for large dinner parties (10-15 people). It is $28/person for AYCE (all you can eat) KBBQ. Service was great and gratuity is already included in your bill. They had lots of side dishes (banchan) and my faves were the pickled cucumber, bean sprouts, and spicy green veggies. Their kimchi wasn't the best I've had. They have lots of selection for meat, different flavored pork/beef/chicken. I was a bit sad they don't have rice paper like the other KBBQ joints in California. Instead of rice paper, they have lettuce to use as wraps, which is healthier but not as yummy. They also offer pancake and it was decent. Overall, I think it is comparable to California KBBQ joints but boy, was it expensive! With tax and tip, it came out to about $35/person. At that price in LA, you can get AYCE seafood and excellent quality meat... When you pay, they give you those yogurt drinks to wash your palette! Oh, and their tea is really good, too. It smells like corn or something..I couldn't figure it out.

Well Korean BBQ done right is a hard find anywhere. Seocho garden comes really close. I was first introduced to it in Los Angeles and have been hooked ever since. There all you can eat menu is great I have tried a great variety of there menu and everything is good. The only thing I recommend is updating he restaurant. Kinda old and worn down. But then again why change a good thing. This place is a great gem for the burbs no need to go to the city anymore for Korean BBQ.

Since there aren't many Korean barbeque places in the suburbs, I thought we'd try this one out. I came here with a group of nine people for all you can eat barbeque. None if us were really impressed... The only meat that was good was the bulgolgi. We had this as our first dish and it was flavorful. Otherwise, the Kalbi didn't have any taste to it, the pork belly bacon was tough, also without much taste, the chicken intestines were too chewy and the marinated sirloin just didn't hit the spot. The chicken fried rice was also surprisingly good. However, you wouldn't normally think to order fried rice with Korean barbeque. The service was just okay. They were attentive to getting us more meats. However, they initially took drink orders and forgot to get the people who ordered waters their drinks and they didn't take our empty plates until they were completely stacked up. I was hoping to have my family try to venture out and try new cuisines but I don't think this was the right choice.

Went here last night with the wife and a friend and we realized that there aren't any korean bbq places in the SW burbs that we know of besides Seocho. I guess it's a good thing that they are good. So wife and I have been here a few times and also with fellow friends/yelpers Derrick T and Cathy R. I would say that as far as AYCE options go that this place is just as good as places up north. I like how they change the plates often to avoid too much char on the grills. Meat selection is good. Only qualm I have is the price as there are places I like up north that are cheaper. Maybe it's because they are the only ones out here that they can charge more. Either way I guess it's fair. My only wish is they have the acorn jelly banchan and also more of the bean sprouts as the sprouts have run out a few times we've gone. Also, I've never seen the potato salad banchan there.

This is an amazing Korean AYCE buffet place especially for Korean BBQ. The side dishes are so fresh and very tasty. The buffet itself is $28 and comes with additional automatic 18% gratuity and tax, so it does turn out to be little above $35, but this is not bad given the ambiance and the professional electronic grill that absorbs all the smoke through a very good ventilation system right above the grill. I especially recommend galbi, bulgogi and cha-dol-gui. They are really well-marinated with great vegetable side dishes. The Korean pancake that comes out as part of the side dish is also delicious. I always take our business partners wanting to go for an easy-going meal place to Seocho Garden, and they all love it. This Korean BBQ place is a hidden gem in Lisle/Naperville area without having to drive all the way out to the city. Plenty of parking. Nice window view near the grill tables. Courteous staff and delicious Korean BBQ!

This place is very authentic Korean. They have 3 seating areas: a sushi area, Korean dining, and barbecue. Since I went on my own, I was relegated to the main dining area, though I really wanted to be in the barbecue section! I ordered the marinated grilled kalbi off the menu along with the tofu soondubu. Both were great. The kalbi was perfectly cooked and served piping hot. The marinate was not overpowering and had a nice balance of sweetness. The tofu soondubu had great silky tofu. The banchan was very fresh tasting and was flavorful. They asked if I wanted refills, and I gladly accepted on several of my favorites. Service-wise, it's very attentive. The servers are not going to talk your ear off since they are not native English speakers, but they understand you and will get the job done. They also offered me wifi since I was on my laptop, iPad, and iPhone simultaneously, but I told them I had it covered. What else was I to do by check up on my social media and do a little work during dinner...especially since I found this place on Yelp! Definitely will warrant a return trip with a larger group so I can check out the AYCE barbecue.

This place is a ripoff. Apparently the price of the AYCE has gone up to $30 a person now. They automatically add 18% gratuity for subpar service. So it came out to 37$ each which is ridiculous. You can get a good meal at Korean restaurants in Chicago for $20. Try Chosunok in Chicago, my all time favorite. I won't be coming back.

All You Can Eat Buffet. We had fun because we grt to cook our bbq. You choose the meat that you want to cook and plus all the appetizers, lettucr wrap and eggplant pancake. Its yummy! And they're so clean, every batch of meat they will change the grilling pan, so the flavor of the previous bbq will not compromise the flavor of the new meat.

This is an all-you-can-eat place at $28 per person. It comes with a or . The quality and flavor is ok for a all you can eat place, but the is good and the is very good. Ill come back for the stews and noodles. If you order the buffet, they add 18% gratuity in your bill.

I had traveled about six hours to Chicago to catch up with some friends. I originally planned to eat at Woori Village the night before but arrived in Chicago about 10:30pm. Since they close at 11:00pm that night, I was unable to enjoy grilled meat to my heart's content. Saddened and weary from my travels and still craving endless beef and pork, I found Seocho Garden and asked my friend to meet me there. Having been to many All You Can Eat (AYCE) Korean BBQ restaurants in Chicago and all over the country, I am going to cut through the "service" experience. The cultural differences of Korean BBQ restaurants and other BBQ restaurants are worlds apart. I loved this place because the place was crowded on a Monday night and the owners still managed to be excellent hosts. They worked hard and I am grateful. On to the food. The banchan was excellent. My table went through 3 rounds (hence the service section above). The meat...oh man...the meat. It was excellent. Most AYCE places will throw lower quality meat your way since you're going to be eating lots of it anyway, but NOT THIS PLACE! It was fantastic! We also went through about 9 plates of meat for 3 people. Rice? Who needs rice to take up stomach space? I was too full to enjoy the Naengmyun (cold noodles) at the end. It was great and I hope you enjoy. Tips: Know your way around the grill. You ruin the quality of the food here by not knowing how to manage your own grill. If you are going with the AYCE option, please inform them when you enter. Otherwise, they will have you seated in the regular dining area.

I went to this place with 7 of our friends expecting it to be like the korean bbq in california. Its nothing like the places in california, only the first all you can eat meat was good, rest of the meats were kind of a waste. It was very pricey for the kinda food they serve and service was very slow. Made reservations for 7 pm, we were all on time, they served us at 745pm. Overall it was ok.

Very nice place, the food was great. I had some Bimbop (I think that's how it's spelled?) to go. It was great, they even made it vegetarian for me so that was really nice of them. I didn't sit inside for long but it looked nice, lots of tables and a sushi area. I will definitely go back.

Food was good but service could use improvement. I love their side dishes and it's a real authentic Korean style. But the one lady who served us could just work on service. She didn't smile or seem very friendly.

Wow, I was preparing myself for mediocre Korean BBQ but was pleasantly surprised! I'm so glad I decided to come by here despite the ratings. I do agree with other yelpers that you should read up a little and be open to a cultural difference before trying a place like this. I frequent a lot of Korean bbqs back home and am used to the different type of service. It was $25 a person for the AYCE BBQ. We ordered the steamed egg and a tofu soondubu (not included in AYCE). The soondubu was AWESOME! i have this a lot back at home but the flavor here was different - in a good way. It reminded me of korean spicy noodles except not as spicy. If you don't know what either one is - ORDER IT. You won't regret!! You also get the usual banchans (side dishes) and they will vary on what they have available that day. You can only order 2 kinds of meat at a time. The service was friendly and fast. We came during lunch on a Monday and were seated right away. The restaurant is a little bit weird as it's divided into 3 sections - a sushi area, a dining area and a Korean BBQ area. The BBQ area is in the back and closed off by separate doors - probably to keep the smoke out of the rest of restaurant. Overall, I'm glad we tried it. Everything was delicious!! And yes, when we're back in town I'll probably come back. Side Note: I also had to ask for rice as they didn't bring it out with banchans. Be sure to ask if you want rice. If you know that you can't finish the meat, don't cook all of it - cook only the portion that you know you'll eat and ask them to take the rest of the meat back. Otherwise, you'll get charged for leftovers.

The soups are actually really good here. There is all you can eat bbq now. The business can get really busy on the weekends for a bbq table. It's better to rsvp for a large party of even 5 or more. There is a sushi restaurant inside, and you can order from both. The soups amd Korean food is excellent. Service is a bit slow at times as most bbq places are.

This place hits the spot for me when I'm in the mood for Korean BBQ - at the very least for the kalbi and bulgogi - those are the meats I prefer over all the others when it comes to best seasoning/tenderness. The service is meh - you really have to press that button if you need something. Otherwise, you may be ignored for a while, especially if you want more water. As another tip - if you are attempting to watch what you eat and just order one meat dish, there's only a $4 difference between that and getting the buffet. - I learned the hard way that it's not worth it at all (the waiter made it sound like the helping was huge while it was smaller than 1 plate they provide for the buffet). Just go there hungry and stuff your face with the kalbi, bulgogi, and banchan. You'll feel better about yourself vs spending $4 less and feeling like you probably could've eating a little more. Yeah, that sounds greedy/glutinous, but hey, I love food, and I want to make the most of the deal!

first of all, dont expect decor or comfortable seats. if you just want some korean food then this is great. they give you many side dishes to eat with your entre and no problems on refills for these. soupls are seasoned just right. the beef is amazing, and the hot pot of bibimbop is my favorite. all good. Dropping a star in spring 2015. Because the past two times the Kalbi is so stringy and hard to chew. In fact, I brought it home and tossed it. None of us wanted it! So sad. What a waste.

This place was a great find! My wife & I have been in search of a good Korean BBQ place since moving from Chicago. This is our new spot. It was $28 per adult for all you can eat. We had marinated prime rib, thin sliced beef brisket, & the pork belly. All were good, though the pork belly was probably our least favorite. The condiments were also really good. I typically don't care for kimchee, but theirs was excellent. Lastly, the service was excellent.

Found this unlimited Korean BBQ on Yelp. This was the only thing helped me surviving in the Midwest for a whole week! The meat was great, and there were a lot of free appetizers. The servers were friendly and helpful. Definitely will visit again if I ever go to that area again! Make sure you go with empty stomach!

This place gets my stamp of approval after me and buddy managed to eat ourselves retarded here last weekend. The good: -An extensive menu -Free pajun to get things started -A decent variety of panchan. -Good flavor and seasoning -Decent portions -Lots of parking. The bad: -A grossly uneven ratio of BBQ tables to non-BBQ tables. -Service is Korean (if you know what I mean o_O ) Will be back to have BBQ service to see if my rating goes up or down.

We got here a few minutes before they opened, and got seated in the back area with the nice window views were. We were off by ourselves and happily got the bulgogi and the kalbi. They actually have a bell or ringer to get the attention of a staff member which is pretty cool. Our plates were changed pretty frequently to avoid charred meat from the grill. The portions were a good size and there was plenty of panchans. The price of the buffet was decent. We received a complimentary egg and vegetable pancake dish and additionally ordered the chopchae, which was fantastic. The fans actually did a better job than some other places that I've been to, but it's tough to mess up Korean bbq.

The reviews for this place run the gamut, but we and friends decided to try it. Apparently it was a good night; the service was good and the food very flavorful. I had a bibimbop, while my companions stayed with the familiar and ordered chicken and shrimp teriyaki. The bibimbop was excellent - very tasty. My companions felt that the teriyaki sauce was too sweet, and there was certainly plenty of sauce with their teriyaki. The hot tea was full-flavored. The Korean family next to us had the BBQ, so we were able to see how that was done. Next time we'll try the BBQ.

Dumplings were bad... most definitely from some frozen section at a grocery store and overcooked. Kimchi wasn't that good. Dolsot bibimbop was kind of flavorless... the sauce helped a little, but even drenched in the sauce it wasn't quite right. The two stars are for the bulgolgi, which was pretty good. Looking back, if I just mixed everything together in a wok and stir fried it myself, it might not have been that bad. As presented though, it was pretty disappointing.

Seocho Garden is a nice Korean fix for me. And Sushi by Chef Soon is virtually in a same place. I could get my Tuna sushi with my Bibimbap. Could it get any better? It is always great to go there with a big party. Ten of us got Bulgogi (thin sliced beef)and Kalbi (short ribs) for BBQ. Also ordered lamb stew, tofu soup, seafood pancake, and fried rice for the whole table. Didn't forget the sushi rolls too. With dozens of complementary cold dishes on the table, I would call this a feast. I usually have a few pieces of Korean BBQ meat especially Kalbi but didn't get any this time. My husband was the one doing the grill who I don't trust much as he always overcook the meat on the grill to make sure the meat is fully cooked. And my son was eating the half of the BBQ meat for the whole table since he loved it. Well, I found my new love - lamb stew. It was served hot and bubbly on a table top burner. The broth was super yummy and slightly on the salty side. The lamb was shredded with sesame leaves and leek (I think). I never thought sesame leaves would compliment lamb meat so much when they go together. Adding a bit of white rice in the broth to delude the salty taste a bit made the whole thing perfect. Tataki Tuna (seared tuna over fresh spicy tuna) was as fresh and tasty as I liked. Yes, I do have a bit obsession with Tuna sushi. Kids liked the complimentary plain pancakes better than the seafood one which all adults preferred. Fried rice was pretty good too but I think that the weakest link for the night. Out of dozens of small cold dishes, I liked the anchovy with hot pepper the most. The service was very nice but it is different from the service you usually get from an American or Italian restaurants. Yes, we used the bell on the table a few times to call the waiter over. The waiter was happy to fulfill our requests either more water or more pancakes. He even found the Chinese spicy sauce for me even I actually only wanted the Korean hot pepper paste. If you like the spicy food, ask for that which is usually in a red plastic bottle. Oh, yummy spicy stuff. Yes, I will go back when next Korean crave kicks in.

I love the Seocho Garden! I've only gone for the Korean BBQ but it's always delicious. Usually, I'll go with family and we'll get the unlimited BBQ. Everything is delicious from the meats (my favorites: kalbi and bulgogi) to the sides (there's always one new side dish I haven't tried before and of course ample amount of kimchi). My favorite side is the pickled cucumber or is it the kimchi daikon or is it the bean sprouts? ;) There's so many to choose from. Don't get me talking about the Korean pancake, because I will start raving. I'm salivating now, just thinking about it. What I like about Seocho Garden is that they keep the BBQ area impeccably clean. There's also a doorbell on your table that you can press when you need a server, so it service becomes less intrusive. This is a Korean BBQ in the Chicago 'burbs win!

This is a Korean BBQ joint hidden in a strip mall. They have tons of seating and it's really good for big groups. Fresh ingredients, good prices, good service, and tons of delicious complimentary appetizers (the potato Korean pancake is delish, as is the eggplant, kimchi, and fried fish). The bulgolgi is right on spot and the bibimbat is delicious. They have pictures next to the dishes so the non-Koreans know what they are ordering. Really quite good, they have good lunch prices too.

This place is awesome, and I think the (admittedly pretty silly) negative reviews are largely from people who don't understand the cultural differences of how Korean BBQ works. This isn't TGI Fridays, people. *sigh* With that out of the way, Seocho Garden is your run of the mill slightly homogenized Korean BBQ. $25 gets you access to the all you can eat menu which features your standard array of meats like pork belly, various beef cuts, some marinated options and more. You also get the zillion side dishes, all of which can be infinitely refilled. A word of warning though, like most Korean BBQ's, they get annoyed if you ask for refills then don't eat it, so be careful about going overboard. Also, another massive tip, most Korean places have waiters that just leave you alone instead of the American style of constantly badgering you asking how your food is and whether or not you need your carbonated corn syrup refilled. You'll notice on every table there's a call button, mash it, and someone comes over right away to get you anything you need! It's amazing! A word of warning though, read up on how Korean BBQ works before going if you've never been before. It's a bit of a process, as you cook your own meats. A little research will go a long way in making the whole experience way more enjoyable and much less intimidating!

Accidentally found this place while looking for a Korean bbq restaurant in the area since most are located out closer to Chicago. Was surprised to find one in Lisle! The atmosphere is nice and the staff ifs really friendly and prompt, they even let us mess around with them with the little Korean that we know. The food is always great so every time we go we eat as much as we possibly can since it is a little on the pricey side.

Food is good; service is average. I don't know if they get a lot of regular customers, but I saw many of them just grab soju bottles from the refrigerators - likely due to slow service. The additional thing that annoyed us - they charged us 18% gratuity on the bill because they counted my 2 year old nephew as the sixth person. Ironically, I was about to write in a 20% tip when they reminded me of the add-on.

I think between a 3 and a 4 star rating is accurate for this place. It's got a a pretty extensive Korean menu with a lot of traditional dishes. Some of the dishes aren't too badly priced for a full service sit down restaurant. The entrees also come out with a lot of side dishes, so we were pleasantly surprised. My friend got the bibimbop and I had their sulungtang. Both were good. This place also features a sushi bar (closed on Sundays), and their ambiance is pretty decent. This is probably one of the few decent Korean restaurants in this area. I don't come down this way often, but if people are looking for a decent Korean restaurant, I'd probably point them here. :)

Standard American Korean BBQ! I had a hankering for kbbq and this place was super-close. It was really stormy on a Tuesday evening, and there were only about 4 other parties at the place, so we were seated immediately. The banchan wasn't abundant, and they ran out of fishcakes and kimchi radish. The lettuce wraps, near the bottom, were a little brown in spots. The meat came out in a timely fashion. I had to ask 4 times for chili paste and bean paste. They also didn't bring sesame oil out until we asked. The bulgogi wasn't seasoned too well, but the meat was decent enough. The brisket was standard--how can you really eff up fatty meats when they bring you so much garlic? The samgyupsal was good. The wait staff wasn't terrific -- we were seated with no button to push so we had to flag our guys down. They forgot to bring a lot of standard things and they sat texting at a table because it wasn't too busy. So please, more water!! Juh gi yo! Because I could walk here, I'm sure I'll be back. I'll order off the AYCE, though, and probably come for bibimbap at lunch. They are open for lunch!

Seocho garden has never disappointed. Everytime my girlfriend and I go there the service is very courteous, the servers check up on you frequently, and the portions are large. The Korean BBQ is good and they give you plenty if side dishes. Will go again.

Food is good. Service is mediocre. Came in for Mother's Day, and it was an awful idea. Waited a solid 20 minutes before being acknowledged. Waited another 10 minutes at a table before we got a server. Got up, requested a table that was VISIBLE to the servers, had to wait another ten minutes. Should've left right then, that's my problem. Was given a special "Mother's Day" menu where the prices went up a couple of dollars. Not sure if it's even legal to capitalize a special occasion as such, but whatever. My main entree came out burnt. I understand that restaurants are CRAZY on Mother's Day, so I don't mind slower service, but I do mind compromise when it comes to the integrity of the food. Had to flag down our server for additionals, like serving spoons, plates, the sauces that are meant to accompany the entree. It's like they had forgotten how to do their jobs. It was 8:30 by now, the crowd had died, but the service was still lacking. I'm sad there aren't more Korean restaurant options in the area, but this place will do. Just avoid it during a holiday.

First time eating Korean food was at this place. The guy taking our order helped me make a decision because I had no idea what would be good. The recommendation he made turned out to be fabulous!! My husband and I can't wait to come back for the bbq part!

Seeking good food in the burbs is hard... and we were lucky enough to discover Chef Soon which had some great fish and innovative sushi. With Seocho garden attached to the same restaurant, we had to give it a try, and needless to say, we were not disappointed. Service: We've been here twice, and found the service to be attentive each time. During our first visit, one of the servers/owners took the time to explain to us all the different meats, and also reminded us that the soups were included in the BBQ meal if we wanted to take advantage of that. They switched out our bbq grill each time it became a mess, and were happy to provide half orders of different meat options that we wanted to try. No complaints from any of us on service. Ambiance: It's standard for Korean BBQ. It's going to be a bit smokey, but the vents are pretty good about getting the smoke out quickly. A few private rooms, and what I believe is a karaoke room as well, along with more communal rooms with multple grills set up. Quality of food: The clear winner for our visits have been the bulgogi with their marinade. A hint of sweetness mixed with the sauce, we tend to start and end with this. I personally like the kalbi for the meatier texture, as well as some of the other cuts were pretty enjoyable (pork belly, brisket, etc.) due to the good quality of ingredients used. Banchan were tasty and everflowing, with my only complaint being that they don't have any sweet potato banchan (my favorite) both times I went. Can't fault them for that though, since it's really whatever they plan to make in house that day/week. Price: $25 for all you can eat Korean BBQ, which comes with the korean pancake, soup choice, banchan, and plenty of meat. We only go to eat the all you can order BBQ, as it's worthwhile to enjoy different cuts of meat and food with friends and family. Verdict: We love it. Good Korean BBQ within easy driving range of our house in the western burbs. This is a go-to for when we feel like splurging and going out for some Korean BBQ, and don't feel like driving into the city or north burbs.

I didn't know that there were Korean restaurants in the area, figuring that they would all be clustered still Lincoln on the Northwest side or the NW suburbs like Schaumburg. Koreans are everywhere now, people. Watch out. For a Korean bbq place it's all right. We got the Wang Kalbi-which is your standard, marinated/seasoned beef short rib. I thought the marinade was a little weak and some of the cuts just really fatty. The spread they put out too was a little on the disappointing side as well the usual sides were pretty good and there were the cabbage leaves you wrap up the meat in but no seasoned scallions (danmuji) with. Korean bbq wise there's better out there, but if you live in the area and don't want to make the hour+ drive to Chicago proper than I guess it's an adequate representation.

Updating my review because I have come to love this place. The all-you-can-eat BBQ special is a great deal. Endless meat brought to your table to grill as you like! The seasoned Kalbi is well seasoned and very tasty. We also enjoy the unseasoned meat. The customer service has gotten much better lately. The sides are plentiful and also pretty good. Whenever we crave Kalbi - this is where we go.

Hadn't been in here for years, and found it to be pretty solid Korean food! Ambiance: nothing special; better than a hole in the wall place, not fancy at all. A little worn. Service: should call ahead to see how busy it is. A small group is actually better off than a single guy going in on his own. Only waiting area is a very cluttered room with a big screen TV and a HUGE remote for some kind of video game/karaoke setup, all in Korean. Not a terribly great place to wait for long. As to food service, it's ok; stuff comes out fast when you order. Just be sure to mention to your server to keep an eye on you for refills on drinks - don't assume that he will, be direct and nice about it. Food: good stuff; I need to come here with at least three other people and go for the BBQ at table special. Had a very good and filling BiBimBap, with non-lethal hot paste and eight small plates, including an excellent non-lethal kimchee! Imagine it's just as good on other stuff.

Great selection. I just wish the all you can eat buffet had more seating because it is a super long line. It is hard to wait when you are hungry so you end up paying double had you waited. Great service and good food.

Readers of this review please note - 1. The reviewer was ravenously hungry, having not eaten all day, and was directed to this place by a random Korean person whose paths crossed earlier in the day. 2. Being ravenously hungry, said reviewer ordered the strange combination of an assorted sushi dinner followed by a hot stone pot bibim bap, and cleared it all down to the last grain of rice and walked away sated and hugely satisfied. 3. Reveiwer's judgement may have been further impaired by the rush of good feelings that follow the downing of an ice cold beer in a very tall glass.

Am baffled by the low rating. My first visit was full of surprises- all the side dishes were so delicious and authentic. The Haemul ChunGol (seafood hot pot) was as good as the one I had when I was in Seoul. We arrived around 2:30pm on a Sunday, there were only a few customers. Even though the staff were having lunch break, the service was still very attentive. Will pay another visit again to try out their all-you-can-eat BBQ.

Good korean bbq! Their kalbi was very tender and delicious with their special hosue sauce. Although, I've had better honestly. This place is decent if you're in the neighborhood and can't get to your usual korean bbq restaurant. Their edamame is good, and so is the korean pancake. I will give them 5 stars for their chopchae! it has bulgogi in the mix of it :)

Definitely bang for your buck with the unlimited BBQ here. I came to pig out and left completing the mission. Meat quality was above sub-par and there were a lot of varieties. It seems that most of the lower ratings were complaining about service. I didn't felt like ours was lacking. We got what we wanted and needed in a timely fashion.

Located in a strip mall that has been many other Korean restaurants in the past, it is now primarily a Korean BBQ restaurant with all you can eat meat as well as a sushi bar. There are typical 4 person tables in the main seating area with private and large rooms on the side. The selection and quality of the meats are pretty decent. They have marinated meats as well as just lightly seasoned ones. The samgyupsal comes in large pieces so you cut them yourself. The banchan also has a good variety that complement the meats and some that go well on the grill. The price is pretty reasonable for the amount you get. My major issue with this place is the service. They are usually understaffed so it's hard to find any waiter/waitress let alone the one for your table. Since the server provides the meat, you're often waiting around for your meat. It seems like it's to save money since they can pay less employees and you'll get fuller faster. It's not a pleasant experience enjoying the meal when it's so disjointed by what you're trying to eat. As we were in a big group, we ordered larger quantities and different types of meats so that we had fewer breaks but later on, the main waitress seemed very bothered that we were still ordering and eating. We called it a night after that and topped off with a McDonald's coke. I'm not the type of person that would patronize an establishment just because they had great service, but I would definitely not go somewhere if they had bad service. Unfortunately, this is the latter.

  • Jim E.

Great food, perfect for groups. The only thing I would changes is the service. They can be seen all over the place just not around your table when it gets busy in the restaurant. Tip: That bell on the table will notify them that you need assistance so you won't be sitting around with long neck hoping to catch some eye contact with them.

Truly one of the best Korean restaurants in the Chicagoland area. I grew up in Chicago and have probably gone to most of the Korean restaurants in Chicago and its outlying suburbs while growing up. But when I come home to visit, I always make sure to go back to this restaurant at least once for a meal. I've never been disappointed. Unfortunately it appears that only the bad experiences are the ones that take the time to write and complain. It's too bad, because the dolsot bibimbap is as good as the rest of their banchan. I personally like their spicy raw crab the best. SOO yummy. Make my mouth salivate even now thinking about it. I'll be going home to visit my folks this weekend, and I will DEFINITELY be dragging them there for a meal.

Another stop with my sister and her boyfriend in the western burbs. I was hoping to sample some BBQ with the sushi, but that was strongly discouraged by our waitress. Fine. The sushi was excellent, and the ambiance of the sushi portion of the place was more tasteful than the BBQ space. Will go back to sample the BBQ some other time. High character place in suburbia, a treat.

I've driven by this restaurant upwards of 1000 times. And I've had a strong desire to check it out. But like a new, Fall TV show that looks interesting, and you have every intention of viewing before it is precipitously cancelled, the opportune occasion never presented itself. That changed last night, when our Korean friend and her guy invited us out. Although this restaurant is, in my opinion, extremely authentic, there isn't the language barrier that you might anticipate. I do maintain, however, that having a Korean national in your party can do nothing but help, especially as it relates to identifying the many side dishes that are presented with the main dishes, and making spot on recommendations. My point? It was a very pleasant, easy experience. The food was largely 4-5 stars, except for my Chicken Bulgogi, which I found to be overcooked and rather flavorless. The Bibimbap was outstanding, as was the shrimp terayki. And I love all of the traditional side dishes: the pickled daikon radish and cucumber, the fish cake and pancakes, and the myriad other mini dishes that I could never hope to identify, and/or remember their names make for interesting dining. You can even get a giant Korean beer (I went with the Kass) for about the cost of a can of Bud Light. We shall definitely return!

I have been craving Korean food for a while now and decided to give this place a try. When I walked in the greeter told me to sit anywhere, but when I sat at the BBQ area she told me to sit in the restaurant area, even though there were people sitting in the same area as me. I tried to order the all you can eat so I could try multiple dishes but I was told that was for two minimum. All this was done with less then welcoming grace. Not sure if that was a language thing or an attitude thing. I ended up ordering a beef dish which was OK but no explanation was given me as to the relishes ( all mediocre) and no offer of menu explanation. The whole experience left me feeling rather unwelcome and while the food and service certainly wasn't bad, it wasn't good either and I will probably never go back. Also it really was a bit pricey for what you get. I am no expert on Korean food, but I enjoy what I have tried. My previous experiences where much more friendly and enjoyable than this one. I will look to those places in future.

Pretty good food. They do give you the options to BBQ or have regular Korean food. We dine in. So I actually don't know much about the BBQ part. They separate the two, so the smoke from the BBQ would not interfere with the diners. The waiters did not circulate around the restaurant a lot, so it took a while for us to tell him what we want. They gave us a free korean pancake appetizer. They didnt have a lot of banchan but all the ones they provided were good. It was overall a pretty decent place to eat. They do have a parking lot, so there is no need to worry about finding a place to park.

I really enjoy going here, especially with a group of people. The BBQ is fun and the meat and marinades are great. If you're in a rush, I would not go there as the service can be slow, but if you've been to any Korean BBQ, service is typically slow. Definitely recommend this place!

So I have noticed a lot of reviews on here gripe about the service and imply (or outright state) that it is because of racist, preferential treatment. Let me set the record straight, as a Korean born, but American raised (adopted) individual - it's not the color of your skin, it's about learning the ethnic difference in expectations relating to food service at a restaurant - i.e. I may look the part, but I don't get "better service" because of the way I look - I know this because I got crappy service when I first started going to Korean restaurants too. I now get better service because I know what to expect and how to get it. The service at this particular Korean restaurant is not notably better or worse than any other Korean restaurant I have been to, whether in the North/Northwest burbs or the city. The difference is, non-Koreans expect to get the same type (notice I did not say level) of service as they are accustomed to in Western style restaurants. Korean service tends to be "slow" and "inattentive" for Westerners because we are so used to being in a rush - we want things fast, and we want them NOW. Korean restaurants tend to be more like cafes - a place to relax and leisurely enjoy a meal with friends or family without interruptions. You really have to flag down your server by waving your arms, or calling to them... or better yet, press the handy "call" button they have at every table. I remember the first couple of times I went to Korean restaurants with friends and was appauled that they would yell across the restaurant to call to a server... but quickly learned that unless you wanted to wait 30 minutes for the server to wander by... learn this phrase, "chuh-gi-yuh", which basically means, "please come here". As for the food, it's decent, but as many others have said, I've had better. The kalbi (marinated beef short rib) is good, but we haven't been impressed with any of the bbq meats - most were tough and flavorless. As for the other traditional dishes, we've only ordered a few, but my first-generation, Korean mother-in-law was not impressed with their nengmyun (cold buckwheat noodle soup). I've heard the adjoining sushi restaurant (Sushi by Chef Soon) is supposed to be amazing. A few other things to note: - You only get the complimentary vegetable pancake when you are ordering bbq cooked at your table (i.e. two orders or more). - As implied by above, there is a minimum order of 2 orders when you are ordering the bbq cooked at your table. - The little vegetable side dishes come with anything you order but are subject to change based upon whatever they have made that day/week. - Rice does not come with noodle dishes. P.S. To the reviewer that was comparing this place to Cho Sun Ok in the city - there is no comparison when it comes to cha dol bae gi and the bokkum bap-aftermath.

My first visit was excellent. I ate so much food and it was amazing. The price is right and the food is fresh. Great service and a lot of fun cooking on a table side grill.

My weekly korean fix! There are no good korean barbeque (authentic) places with bunch of side dishes and this is the only place I can find nearby. After work, I come here and have casseroles, bibimbap or soon doo boo. The other day, i did the all you can eat bbq and I am not sure how people can eat so much. I had only 2 servings and I was stuffed. The service is always great, welcoming and pleasant. If I'm not there eating, then I usually do a carry-out and they always make sure that they put my side dishes in there.

Seocho Garden was a big disappointment. We sat in the dining area where you cannot cook bbq. Side dishes and entrees were bland, lacking flavour. Two different workers saw us enter the restaurant, and both left us standing near the front register for five minutes while they seemingly did very little other than walk around. One of them only walked over to us after we waved to her to walk over. She seated us, and then someone else came over to take a drink order. Then no one went to our table for the next ten long minutes, until we finally waved someone down - and she wasn't anyone with whom we had interacted before that point. She took our order, and our food was out to us just a few minutes later. The entrees did not taste fresh at all, and the meats were cooked into being dry. They did not service our table or check on us at all during the meal, and after we put our chopsticks across our bowls and laid our napkins down - all trying to signal that we were finished - at least another ten minutes went by before we had to wave someone over to give us the bill. In the time between us asking for the bill and our leaving after paying, they did not clear anything from our table. All that stuff was piled up, and they could not see fit to tidy it up and take it away. The only things to give the 2 stars for the review would be the delicious vegetable pancake thingy, the yogurt soda, and easy parking in the lot.

Horrible customer service How can you limit two dishes per order, this is the worst Korean BBQ place I ever been to ...

The place is ugly and service is horrible. The food is authentic korean and if you just want a fast and unattractive dinner then it might do.

Had better had worse. The dishes are average, nothing amazing and definitely not worth an out of the way drive. It is a good alternative to the food court at H-mart if you're craving korean food. In my opinion the stone bowl bibimbop was just OK and instead should have gotten a casserole or soup. Next time I'll try the sushi thats attached to the restaurant.

Just went there last night for the first time. I'm korean american and wife is korean. I grew up in Chicago and have been to lots of korean restaurants. Korean service is notorious for being bad, but this place was great. We went on a wednesday night, and it wasn't too crowded. I wouldn't go on the weekend because the place is probably very busy. I thought the price was great and we ate a ton of food!! I thought it was pretty good and very surprised in how attentive the service was. Also waiters speak english and are very friendly. We live in the west suburbs and we will be going back on weekdays only. Great selection of food too!!

I've been to this restaurant 3 times and have been very pleased with the service and value from my visit! The "all you can eat" deal is great and leaves me stuffed every time with quality food. The waitress could have been nicer but overall she did her job. The only better Korean BBQ place I've been to has been in California so this is speaking highly of Seocho!

This place has decent Korean foods. In general, Korean foods, in my opinion is a bit pricy. Kind of what you would spend when you go out for sushi. However, the difference between going out to Sushi and going here is that, Sushi places often has MUCH better customer service. I did like the food. I had some kind of Beef noodle soup dish. It was super flavorful. I went with a group of 8 or so people. We had plenty of side dishes and it was nice. But realistically, ALL I could really remember about this place was that the SERVICE was not oh-so-friendly. The lady who took our order had a tone of voice that just seems like she wasn't up to serving. Her English was not so good but I'm not picky on that, I've pretty sympathetic to non-native speakers. I've met many that has accents but were very nice, patient and polite. Anyways, our lady here didn't really refill our water much, she gave us dirty look when we asked to have the checks split (before hand) and when she came out to cook the beef on the stove for us, she just seem to did it carelessly. And for a $20/ beef plate, you would think the beef shouldn't be just flung around onto the pan and falling onto the table to be touched and put back on the grill for you. So in all, food was good. Price was high. Professionalism (despite the nice decor), not up to my standards. I don't really have a reason to visit again, at least not anytime soon. So come here for the food, but come with good company because you won't be feeling like you're at your grandmother's anytime.

I lived in Korea for 2 years so I'm familiar with Korean food, service, etc. After reading the review about the waitress who was wiping her nose with her hands and then on her apron, without washing her hands, I'M OUT! NO WAY AM I GOING SOMEWHERE WITH SERVERS SO LAX IN CLEANLINESS!!!!!

Worst korean restaurant experience EVER!!! Bad customer service, food weren't that great. The table next to us who was KOREAN received awesome customer service and free pancake, but i am not korean, so we don't get that on our table. I would never go back to this restaurant ever again and i have told all of my fds and relative about my horrible experience. Seriously, i have the $ to pay so i don't understand why the service was that bad. I had to ask several times for the waitress to bring me the soup and rice whereas the table next to us who came after me got everything without asking. It's becuase they are Korean and we are NOT. I am very disappointed and will never ever return to this place again.

Great Korean food in the suburbs? Sure...you gotta know where to go. This is it! They have a huge location - no more cramming at a small dingy Chicago Korean restaurant. You know who you are! They give you comp appetizer of Korean pancake so no need to order the appetizer which is ok since it's the main courses that pull you in. I like the dol sot bibimbop -- hot, crunchy and just the right amount of rice to veggie ratio. Their yukejang is quite tasty too, spicy - just like Mom used to make it. Of course, there's kalbi BBQ that you cook yourself. You want it medium, you want it well done - you're the cook, you get it your way. And they have lots of tasty panchan (little side dishes that come with the meal).... I really enjoy this restaurant. It's clean, large, good service and most importantly, delicious food!!! A hidden gem in the mundane burbs. I go there regularly when I just gotta get away from the city and get me some K-food.

I recently had my korean BBQ at Seocho and it was my first visit. The meat was very fresh and tasty. They offered lots of side dishes and the servers were very attentive. It was a lot of fun cooking on a table grill too.

Wound up here for lunch and dinner because that is where some Korean teachers wanted to go while here. Older vegetables, weak tea, bad service and my jigae (soup) cold. Not particularly clean in the front or from peaking into the kitchen.

Really disappointed. My wife is Korean and we have some relatively set expectations. So, what Korean restaurant serves kalbi without the bean paste and lettuce? Had to ask 3 times for that. Couldn't get another bowl of rice (asked multiple times for that). No refills on water. I almost started to bang my cup on the table. It started good. Complementary veggie "pancake" at the beginning and menu showed more choices that at New Korea Garden ( yelp.com/biz/new-korea-g… ), our local restaurant. But, as the meal went on, it was clear that they were serving the families in the back room and other tables far better than us. My wife and I had our son, and we really don't have time to be sitting around waiting. On top of that, the food was no better quality than at New Korea Garden where the staff has treated us so well. We may consider take-out down the line.

I live right in 4 Lakes, and we've frequented this "restaurant" enough to realize that this place is lucky to have been open for so long. The service was spotty at best. Like with the other bad reviews, we also noticed that if you're not Korean, the servers will barely notice you or treat you with some form of decency. The third time we ate there, the server cut up the kalbi but JUST PUT THE BLOODY BONE ON OUR TABLE AND LEFT IT THERE. Now the server just wiped the table down with a wet rag when we left. GROSS. Getting a 2nd glass of water was out of the question too. Everytime we've been there (about 4 times), it was almost empty except for a Korean family or a couple of Korean businessmen and for good reason. Mediocre food and non-existent service is unacceptable. The owners must get their act together as this joint has had a face lift a few times in the past 5 years that I've lived here. It was an Asian all-you-can-eat buffet at one point, but the service has gotten worse with every face lift. Go at your own risk, folks. I've had enough, TRUST.
