Even though I don't typically like to go to chain restaurants, I have been eager to try Fleming's for awhile as I had heard some good things about the group. This Fleming's is about 8 miles from me and having recently received a $50 off card from American Express, I now had a great reason to check it out. I called in advance to ensure I could have dinner at the bar as the coupon noted that it was for the dining room only. The hostess that answered was very polite and said that she thought the stipulation was included so people didn't use the coupon for their happy hour special, which as other reviewers have noted is quite a deal. So I headed over and sat down at the bar when I arrived, showed the bartender my coupon and no problem. Thumbs up! Decided to review the menu for a decent wine to go with steak, which I was planning on ordering. Mentioned that to the bartender, he offered me a glass of Artemis @ $15 / glass - normally sold only by the bottle there for $113. After a taste, I decided to go with it - great recommendation from the bartender. I also like how they decanter even the "by the glass" wine orders - very nice. Good wine list overall as well. For dinner I ordered a mushroom ravioli appetizer - it came out and tasted exactly as I envisioned it. Three raviolis, fairly large with an excellent sauce and some small amounts of shaved cheese over the top. Great start to a meal. Followed that up with a filet mignon and some green beans. The filet was cooked medium rare as ordered and was pretty good - I have had better steaks before, but this one was nothing to complain about. The green beans were cooked as advertised and made an excellent accompaniment to the steak. The green beans were a little pricey for the size of the order however. Bread came out a little late, just before dinner. It was served with two butter spreads; a white cheddar and a dried tomato. The dried tomato spread popped out of the ramekin when I cut into it - the flavor was also hard to identify. I ended up using more of the white cheddar spread. Finished off dinner with Fonseca port wine - a good choice. Overall, a good experience at this Fleming's. As other reviewers noted, the lights are a little low, but that was fine by me. Pricey - yes - my bill was still $40 after the $50 discount and not including tip. But I would have paid the same or more at a steakhouse of similar quality, so as the segment goes, the price was as expected. I'll be back - the happy hour does look like a great deal and I do plan to try it sometime.

I thought flemings was good, but overpriced. I'd rather spend that money on ruth's chris or morton's, or some place downtown with better steak. I didnt like that the server came out with plates on top of each other so my steak touched the bottom of another plate, ewww. I liked my ribeye, but honestly didnt think it was anything special. The ambience is nice, wait staff was nice. I dont think i'd go back, i'd even choose wildfire over flemings.

This review is specific to the bar area. A co-worker and I decided to grab a drink hafter our long flight and decided to try Flemings as we were both hankering for a good glass of wine and they are known to have a robust selection. We both decided to try two different reds on the HH menu. Neither wine was exactly what we expected, but they were good. The bartender was super friendly and offered up some chips, which were amazing! I would be willing to have supper here sometime and check it out.

Shoutout to my fellow Miss Anna K for picking out this spot! Tucked in the heart of the Lincolnshire plaza is this great Steak & Wine Bar. Drink Specials ran all night and food specials ran from 5-7 pm. To kick start our palate, a glass of chardonnay and cabernet was a must. We paired it with our delectable appetizers: ** Wicked Cajun Shrimp w/toasted bread ** Ahi Tuna Salad w/shaved pear and spicy horseradish sauce ** Tenderloin carpaccio topped with capers with a side of crunchy flatbread The bartender and the staff was spot on with the service. As we yapped away like teeny-boppers, our water glasses were always filled, and our wine glasses were mysteriously (and graciously) refilled as well. Just when we thought we were done, Keith (b-tender), surprised us with a beautiful display of desserts. He seemed to have read our minds, that sneaky sneaky Keith. :) The chocolate molten lava cake, cookie topped with pistachio ice cream and chocolate, and a small bowl of delicious, mouth-watering whipped cream. I want a tub of that whipped cream because I have never tasted anything like it. It never melted into a gooey, watery consistency, and the flavor paralled a mascarpone cream. Sigh... food nirvana. Service service service! Thanks to Keith and the staff for the great, all-around service! I'll be back to nag the mysterious, secret recipe of that whipped cream :) muheheh

This place is way better than it's 3 star average. Granted it's expensive you have to kinda game play their specials and sign up for online mailer to get $25 of $50 in food etc. Their bar specials are still awesome till 7pm drinks, apps, etc are great. Their beef is solid although I found all of my food was slightly too salty....maybe just my taste. They make some pretty good Hollandaise sauce for the Oscar style too! Not as good as Ruth's Chris but still pretty darn good.

"wicked" shrimp wasn't so wicked but as the sauce thickened up, made a delicious dipping sauce for the bread. "now i know you girls don't really want to fill up on bread, which is fine if you really do. but i have something better coming up for you. oh wait, there it is. right over here." *housemade whipped cream *chocolate lava cake *pistachio ice cream with cookie how the hell did he know exactly what we would like? ooey chocolate cake filled with melted hot chocolate contrasting cold ice cream topped with chopped pistachio in a cookie boat-like apparatus we plowed thru. and the whipped cream. whipped creammm appeared like mascarpone, light like cream, smooth like buttercream frosting, flavorful like custard. perfect companion. dessert in and of itself. apparently good service is all a part of the job :]

After reading the reviews, prior to going in, I was up in the air...but said what the heck! I'll establish my own opinion. Well, I must say, most were right on. Regarding the ambience of the place, I thought it was nice. Classic steakhouse. The low lighting mentioned by some is somewhat indicative of restaurant like this. I did not mind at all. I did think they could use a bigger bar area...quite tight. Regarding food vs. price. This is where they fell short. I thought the sides were OK, and steak decent. The cost did not warrant the food quality. Service was good, but, wont go back. Had much better experiences at Schulas, Morton's, Ruth Chris, etc.

Out of the big high end steakhouses, Flemings is the closest to me. Sullivan's is a little further north, and Morton's and Ruth's Chris are in Northbrook (a bit further east). That said, we end up going to Fleming's the most often just due to convenience. I always like their steaks, and their food is always good. I feel that the kitchen gets a little swamped sometimes and service is a little slow. Whenever I go for dinner, I never expect to be out in less than 2 to 2.5 hours. This holds true every single time. The one thing I am a fan of is that they always have specials that make it the best bang for the buck. For example, around graduation time, there is usually a Prime Celebrations special where you get a 3-course dinner for $50.00 per person, including tax and gratuity! You'd be paying that at Outback, so for Flemings, it's awesome. I just went there this past week for this deal and here's what I ordered: 1st Course: Wedge Salad - I had ordered it sans Bleu Cheese and Thousand Island on the side. What I got was sans Bleu Cheese, but the Thousand Island slathered all over the wedge. I am not a big fan of heavy-handed dressing, and they didn't put it on the side. I had to basically take off the first layer of the salad to make it edible. (But since I could rectify the problem, I did not voice my complaints.) The lettuce and tomatoes were fresh and crisp. 2nd Course: New York Strip Steak - I ordered this rare. Steak came out a little over done...it was more medium-rare (almost on the verge of medium) where the inside was a pink, and was hot to the touch. (The doneness did not render it inedible for me, so once again, I didn't complain.) However, the steak itself was a fabulous cut of steak and had good flavor. 3rd Course: Creme Brulee - Perfect. Nothing was wrong with dessert and the Chantilly whipped cream on the side made it extra perfect. All in all, this is a great place to grab a good steak if you can snag a deal. Sunday nights is also a 3-course Prime Rib night. Yum.

Wanted a n upscale meal and Flemings delivered. The room is pleasant and quiet. Our waiter (Brian) was professional and met our joking with some of his own. The pork belly app, filet, and dry aged rib eye were all delicious. And the Flemings potatoes were an amazing side. At the end of the meal, I didn't want dessert to interrupt all the good steak I had eaten! We will go back!

There is nothing worse then having a business dinner at a restaurant in which you can't eat half of what's on the menu and the other just doesn't look appetizing. Somebody has to explain to me the point of keeping a restaurant so poorly lit?!?! Do they not want you to know what you're eating? Does it amuse the Mole-people like staff to watch patrons trip and bump into everything they possibly can? All that aside my business associates were quite content with their meal and their choice of wine selection. Myself, well I could have passed on just about everything. It's just not my kind of joint. The seared scallops were meaty and smelled quite fresh, it had a lobster cream sauce which was excellent, and then some sauteed vegetables on the side. It wasn't a bad meal at all but then again I couldn't really see it. I would have like more options in the chicken department too. Our waiter was pleasant and the manager even stopped by to thank us. If you're in the area and like steak then cool but if not, no special trip needed. Also, bring a lot of money because nothing is cheap here.

Kind of a Ruth's Chris type of restaurant. Food and service here are top notch but you will definitely pay for it. This is our go to place when the wife's boss wants to bribe me for all the hours she puts in.

The atmosphere is similar to what you might see at a wildfire, same with what you see on the menu. However, it seems like a few of the dishes have a few asian flavors (which really enhance the dishes, by the way - the lobster tempura was delicious!). They have interesting martini's that are great as well - we tried a gin martini with blackberries and ginger ale. I enjoyed the peppercorn new york strip for dinner, which was cooked perfectly and tasted great, I wouldn't crave the signature F-17 sauce again, but i'd still order the dish a second time. I definitely recommend this place - the atmosphere, the menu, the drinks/wine list, and the service is excellent too.

We came here on a Wednesday 6pm with no reservation, the hostess sat us in the dining room right away. The restaurant was at 80% of its capacity, I am a little impressed. Our server Sly was very knowledgeable and attentive, we didn't order any drinks nor appetizers, we went right away into ordering the entree which was two prime ribeye with two sides. The ribeye was flavorful and juicy, just the right portion as well. Though it will be too much if I have had any appetizers before. The service was impeccable, the dining experience was better than expected. The manager checked in with us after they presented the bill, which was a nice touch. The total came to $115 before tip. I will be back here for a special occasion again.

Excellent date night! Awesome 3 course Prime Rib dinner special. Salad was good, mushrooms and green bean sides were outstanding, Prime Rib great, as well as coffee and dessert! Rob was an outstanding waiter! Service was exceptionable - was even thanked by name as well left. GR8 place!

I went here on a Wednesday night for my second anniversary. The place was not too crowded. I mentioned it in my online RSVP that it was our anniversary and when we arrived, the maitre d and our server both wished my wife and I a happy anniversary. Nice touch. The atmosphere is upscale but not over the top fancy. We spent about $100 for two people, so it was on the expensive side, but not unreasonable. The portions are smaller, which is to be expected of dining at this caliber, but the food was delicious. I had a steak and my wife had seared ahi tuna. The tuna was probably the best I've ever had in my life. The steak was good, not great, I've certainly had better, but not bad by any means. I would definitely go again. Wait staff is very courteous. For an upscale steakhouse, they deliver everything you'd expect.

Pretty standard steak house fare but a dark atmosphere with average service. One member of our groups steak was under done but they comped the desert so no harm no foul. My wife had the crab stuffed tilapia however and raved. Friday night and the place was empty by 8:30. Hmmmm. My steak was. A steak ..not bad not awesome. At least not as awesome as the price. Over 400 for two couples was a bit overpriced for the cuisine. Probably will choose Ruth Chris or Capital Grill next time at this price point

CAUTION!!!!!!!!! Keep your receipt so that you can compare it to your credit card statement. I left between 19-20% tip but over 1% was STILL somehow "added" to the total! I made sure my writing is legible since I had a similar experience not that long ago. I guess waiters/waitreses count that we won't bother checking the bill, call or notice a buck added here and there and they are probably right. Unfortunately an otherwise nice experience and an upscale venue gets a measly one star rating from me.

Everything was exceptional from the quality of ingredients used, menu selections, and service. The restaurant staff from the reception to the waiters were cordial, welcoming, polite, and very professional. The wait and bus staff were very synchronized harmoniously that they were not obstructive or intrusive to our dining experience. The wash rooms were well maintained and clean and use quality products. Wait staff is very respective of our guests involved in conversation. Not intrusive at all and hardly noticeable. For those who may have commented on the delay, it is a place to dine leisurely. I am confident that if you are in a rush, the restaurant staff would have accommodated the request accordingly. We had a pleasant experience that I hardly noticed if there was even music in the background. (11/04/2012)

First time we went to Fleming's... On a co-workers suggestion. There were 5 of us. Ambience was good. Some folks complain it is a little dark in there. I agree - but no big deal. On the plus side, they have a decent wine list. On the "needs to improve side" if you they want me to return: * The spicy shrimp appetizer is a bowl of chili oil with shrimp in it. Too much oil and it actually was served "cold" to the touch. * Two of our steaks were served cold (it seemed to be a problem to get the entire dinner out hot). * Really bad service. We only saw our waiter when food was delivered. We were missing silverware when next course would arrive. While one of us was deciding on their dessert, the waiter actually walked away because he took too long. He didn't say, excuse me - let me return. He didn't ask if he should come back. He literally 'walked away'. We eat out at steak places once a month. We love Morton's & Capital Grill. Peter Miller & Ruth Chris are second place winners. This place is at the bottom of our list. Candidly, I would have preferred Wildfire - and I don't consider that a steak place.

I ate here alone on a Saturday night. I felt like I was rushed through my meal. The presentation of the steak I ordered was quite basic. The ribeye steak I ordered was very tasty but hardly worth $45 dollars. That is all you get for $45 is the steak on a plate. No vegetable,salad or potatoe as those are all ala carte. If the steak was priced at $35 to $38 dollars it would have been more reasonable. I felt a bit uncomfortable with the way I was treated dining alone. There are just so many other great steakhouses within 5 miles of this place that Im not sure I would go back.

I've been to several locations and the food is supremely overrated and over-priced. Once, at this particular location my family was accused of being a "undercover police sting operation" by some bimbo waitress when my sister was unable to produce her I.D. in what the waitress deemed to be a timely manner. I don't eat steak, so I appreciate how Flemings has seafood options (scallops, fish, crab, lobster), salads, and chicken. Entrees are about $30 - $50. The location has a pleasant, masculine ambiance - very dark inside, leather booths, upscale looking. It feels like a special occasion or business lunch/dinner type of place. The waiter seemed knowledgeable or at least had a good memory for the detailed descriptions of the daily specials. The complimentary bread consisted of two slightly warm, dense mini rosemary loaves accompanied by two spreads. The bread was okay. I prefer chewier bread with greater textural contrast. We shared several sides - and the sides were the highlight of the evening. Sides are large enough to share between 4 or 5 people. * Grilled high country asparagus: thin spears, simply seasoned with olive oil and butter, good, basic * Mashed potatoes with roasted garlic: nice, creamy texture, plenty of roasted garlic added on top * Two types of mushrooms sautéed with garlic, a little salty but good For my entrée, BBQ Scottish salmon filet ($28.95): Two filets brushed with a very sweet BBQ sauce - not your typical BBQ sauce, it was almost like a teriyaki sauce. I wasn't crazy about the sauce - it didn't have much complexity and it was too sweet. The salmon was a bit too well done but they did ask me how well done I wanted it. While I enjoyed the mushroom salad underneath though I'm not sure that BBQ sauce complemented that salad. Almost $30 for two pieces of salmon and a pile of mushrooms - that seems ridiculously overpriced to me. It was so dark that I took a picture of my entrée but it didn't turn out.

We always sit in the bar whenever we go to Flemings. The happy hour can't be beat. They have 5 dollar burgers which I believe my dad called one of "the best burger he's ordered from a restaurant".. really yummy crispy calamari with a spicy sweet sauce, steak tartare, seared tuna.. that is all I can remember right now. Go and fill up on the bar menu and well priced drinks!

We love the 5 for 6 til 7 deals, but they are getting kind of routine - it would be nice if they changed up the menu once in a while. The service used to be quite good when we started coming here. The last two times were a real disappointment - we were basically ignored most of the time. A lot of the staff standing around talking to each other with little attention to the customer.

Dinner was wonderful. The place was PACKED. 7pm reservation but we weren't seated until well after 7:30. That was one of only 2 minor negatives of the entire evening. Service was great. Waitress to bus boys were very attentive. Water glasses always filled, fresh utensils with each course, cleaning the table cloth after each course, and the server offered a black cloth napkin without having to be asked, etc. Started with a large loaf of right out of the oven herbed bread with a sun dried tomato/chipotle spread and a whipped herbed spread which I think was probably a cream cheese base. My husband had a vodka& cranberry (excellent) I didn't have a drink. Next was crabcake appetizer. 2 very small cakes, maybe the size of a silver dollar pancake and approx 1/2 inch thick. Served on a roasted red pepper sauce. Very good but could barely taste any crabcake.This was my 2nd negative. They were delicious but for $18.50 I felt they could have been a little bigger and less filler-more crabcake. Next up was the salad wedge. Huge-more like 1/2 a very large head lettuce than a wedge. In fact they split it for us and each of our portion was the standard size you'd usually get. Fantastic bleu cheese dressing with large chunks of cheese served with just a dollop of dressing on the plate and they brought a good portion of dressing on the side which I liked so the salad wasn't drowned in dressing. Chopped bacon and a full strip of bacon and cherry tomatoes finished the presentation. Entree was a 20oz bone in rib eye. Steak was medium rare and prepared to perfection. My husband ordered carrot cake for dessert . Very generous size square with 3 layers and cream cheese filling and frosting to die for, sitting in a small amount, maybe a couple tablespoons, of caramel sauce. Just enough to get the flavor and just how he likes it. I'm not a fan of sauces so I appreciated that nothing was overdone with the cake( or salad dressing or the sauce with the crab cakes). I'd give it a 4.75/5.0 rating. Have to take a minor deduction for the long wait with a reservation and the size/value of the crab cakes.

My family went here for Christmas Eve dinner when we were all in town. We picked the restaurant because they had a good sized gluten-free menu and were also willing to accommodate dairy-free. The waiter was very helpful with making selections. We shared the wicked cajun barbecue shrimp that the chef prepared dairy free for us as well. Yum! I had the petite filet mignon and sauteed mushrooms - both were prepared gluten and dairy free, and they were delicious! The rest of the family that didn't have allergy restrictions enjoyed the braise short ribs, filet mignon skewers (rav reviews!), shrimp scampi, creamed spinach, and other dishes. We would definitely go there again.

I'm surprised the rating is so low for such a great restaurant. We go there at least once a month. I love the feel of the place. Service is usually great unless it's a holiday and they are overbooked. I was there last on mothers day and since it took longer to deliver the food they comped the meal for 9 people. They are fair. Food is amazing if you specify how you want your food prepped for steakes for example then you will not be disappointed. Yummy food! Good wine! Works for me!

The reviews of this place are a real mixed-bag. We tried it because we had a $50 gift card from the restaurant which came in the mail. Otherwise, we probably would have skipped it. I happen to think Chicago Cut Steakhouse (brand new) and Gibsons are 2 of the best places around. That being said -- I had the classic martini -- changed the vodka from smirnoff to grey goose. It was expensive -- $11.95, I think. I ordered the November special (I think he said it was called "Memorable") -- filet mignon and lobster tail. It came with a salad (your choice), veggies and dessert. I ordered the ceasar salad which was very garlicky and came with an interesting long crouton kind of thing with some chopped crab on top. Very good. I ordered the filet med/rare and it was a bit more toward medium. But good. Lobster was delicious. Served outside the shell with drawn butter. Maple glazed carrots were also quite good. They brought the chocolate lava cake with 2 scoops of ice cream and a delicious, delicate cookie. My husband loved the lava cake -- for me it was just okay. But the ice cream was delicious. I would give it another try and order some more "regular" stuff -- I understand the burger served at the bar $6 until 7pm or something -- is outstanding and an excellent value. I'll report back. I do agree it's a little too dark. Turn on a light for cry-eye. Our waiter was young with a heavy Russian accent and spoke a bit too fast but he was good. No mistakes. Hubby had the French onion soup which he said was the best he ever had along with a big salad. He thought my steak was so-so, the lobster delicious and the dessert to die for.

My husband and I went to Fleming's in Lincolnshire for my birthday last night. We were greeted with a friendly hello, and a warm birthday wish. We started at the bar where we had wonderful martinis and a Calamari appetizer. For $6 we got a delicious appetizer with a generous portion for two people. It was so very tasty that we didn't leave one morsel on the plate. The friendly server also wished me a happy birthday. I We loved the dark lighting which was very romantic. A little later we were seated for dinner, and our waiter (David?) was fabulous. He was very attentive and made sure we were comfortable. He was very professional and really knew what he was doing. The wine list is very large and you get wine by the glass. I drink white and my husband drinks red, so it was nice to have a large selection of wine by the glass. We had the special for two which consisted of 3 courses - soup, entree, and dessert. The shrimp bisque was very tasty with wonderful flavors. The entree consisted of 2 meats and shrimp. The filet mignon was tender - just fabulous- and served on mash potatoes. The entire entree was generous and gourmet. The chef really knows what he's doing. Although I was full, it was so tasty that I kept eating. Than the dessert came out. it was like an ice cream cake on a delicious crust. Really great. Yummmm. But if that wasn't enough, the manager came by and wished me a happy birthday and handed me a box of delicious truffles with a $25 gift card. WOW! This restaurant really knows how to treat customers. Made us feel special at every turn. I would go back in a heartbeat. I highly recommend it. Don't be scared by the prices because they run specials and the bar offers $6 drinks and ample appetizers. My first experience at Flemings was for happy hour.. The seared tuna and shrimp were good, the carpaccio and calamari was not so good. There were two bartenders and ours went AWOL for over 20 minutes and the other bartender was too busy with the other patrons.. it happens I guess.

The food was mediocre considering that this is supposedly a premier steakhouse. I did enjoy my steak and it was cooked perfectly, exactly the way I like it but the vegetables and potatoes lacked in both presentation and flavor. When compared to other steakhouses such as Ruth's Chris, Capitol Grille or Gibson's it ranks the worst. The problem is not that the food is bad (by any means, it is great food!) but it simply does not stack up against the mentioned restaurants. For the money I would choose either one of the mentioned three and stay away from Fleming's Prime Steakhouse.

Waste of Moolah. Best description I've heard yet for this place. I ate there this past weekend and I got the bone in rib eye. The best part of the meal was the creamed spinach. That's a sad statement at a upscale steakhouse. The steak was far below average and I would have rather made my own steak at home. I will never go back here again. The food is below par and for the price you can go to Gibsons. Next time you think of heading to Fleming's stay home and order pizza.

My review is for their private parties. And they do an outstanding job. We had plenty of options to choose from to fit various price ranges. I can't even remember exactly what the appetizers were, I just remember loving them! And since I'm pretty picky, that's a huge compliment. The steak literally melted in my mouth, the flemings potatoes were so good I could've eaten just them, the sugar snap peas had the perfect crunch and the lave cake was to die for. The room was also setup wonderfully and the staff was awesome. It was snowing, so the valet service was great, especially since they escort you to your door with an umbrella. I highly recommend this place.

While we've been here a couple of times before, we chose to go here on a weekend evening and, not having made reservations, sat in the bar area. Flemings is part of an upscale steakhouse chain. It delivers good, generally consistent quality food, but, I would not put it in the upper echelon of Chicago-area steakhouses (for the sake of comparison, I would place Gibson's and Mortons at the top of the steakhouse food chain the Chicago area with Rosebud Prime and Rosebud Steakhouse slightly behind those two market leaders). There is a separate (limited) bar menu, but all of the restaurant's menu items are available at the bar as well. The restaurant is located in a free-standing building in a shopping center and is joined in that center by Kona Grill and Cheesecake Factory, two other national chains. Parking is shared by the restaurants and retail shops and the lot was full (valet is an option). The bar is spacious with a limited number of booths and a few high-tables in the back of the bar area (you need to bring a flashlight if you sit back in that area to read the menu as its pretty dark back there). The bar itself is well-lit. We went somewhat late and the bar wasn't crowded. There are about 100 wines by the glass to choose from (also available by the bottle) and a smaller list of "premium" wines. As you might expect in a steakhouse, there were many Merlot, and Cabernet options. The list was heavily oriented toward California (and I failed to spy a single French option). Cabernet and Cabernet blend by the glass wine choices for the most part fell into the $14 and up price category. We tried the shrimp cocktail. The shrimp were decent sized, but not immense and were firm and cold. I would not rank Fleming's shrimp cocktail as highly as I would rank the shrimp cocktails at EJs Place (Skokie) or Joe's (Grand Avenue), but it was good. Unlike other places' shrimp cocktails where the cocktail sauce is a horseradish-based sauce, the cocktail sauce that accompanied the Flemings shrimp cocktail was a smoky, tangy (interesting and tasty) barbecue-type sauce. A nice, unexpected taste. The Iceberg lettuce wedge salad was also a good size and was accompanied by traditional blue-cheese dressing, but not bacon. The steak sandwich (the shrimp cocktail and salad were large enough that any other entree would have just too much to eat) was a decent size accompanied by grilled vegetables. We also ordered the thin-cut french fries which were crisp and a nice companion to the sandwich. Portions are not huge, but could be shared. The bar area at the restaurant is a nice option following a movie at the Regal in Lincolnshire.

Flemings is an over the top (and not in a good way) steakhouse. The service: Too much of a good thing. The service was obtrusive. The waiter hovered, constantly interrupting our dinner and conversation by asking if everything was alright. It was simply too much and unnecessary. Selling: Dining here was not about ordering appetizing items off the menu. It was about the waiter selling food and wine...especially the wine. He pushed everything, including the sides. We asked if a side dish was enough to share. He replied "no ...we should at least get two veggies and a potato." One side would have been plenty. We felt like he was trying to beef up the bill. (Excuse the pun!) The Food: EXPENSIVE and little value for what was presented and charged. Beef Flemington was all pastry and very little meat. The filets were small and over priced. Everything is al a carte. At a minimum, you'd spend $50 a person for an "entry level " steak, salad and side dish. The Dining Room: A "want-to-be" downtown atmosphere. If you're going to charge me outrageous prices for a meal, please don't position the bar to face the dining room and have TV's playing sports broadcasts. Either be a sports bar or a fine dining experience, but don't try to blend the two and charge me a fortune for overwhelming service and underwhelming food. We've eaten in many great places and have spent much more for a meal. When you have a fine dining experience that matches the final tab, it's never a problem for us. When you feel "taken," it is a huge problem. It felt like Flemings had it's hands in our pocket. It was hard to enjoy our dining experience. Flemings is too contrived, too expensive and very disappointing.

My husband and I were shocked at how awful Flemings was. We regularly go out to nice steakhouses (Ruths Chris and Sullivans), but had never been to a Flemings and were excited to experience a nice meal. When we arrived the hostesses were rude and didn't seem to have time to deal with us, although there was no one else in the entry way. We decided to sit a table in the bar area and had to ask for bread to be served. It took a long time for a server to greet us and ask what we wanted to drink. We explained we had never been to a Flemings and to point out what was good, popular and what we should try. Our server also didn't seem to have time for us, but we were there at 5pm right when they opened and there was a ton of staff just standing around. My husband and I talked about leaving but thought we would wait it out. My husband ordered the filet and it was an awful cut of meat and served cold. We had the asparagus and potatoes as side dishes, both were cold and there were only about seven spears of asparagus, not enough to serve two like they claim. They completely got my order wrong and served me the wrong dish, but I didn't want to deal with fixing it because the service was so bad. My glass of wine was empty before anyone asked if I wanted another one. For a seemingly premium steakhouse, I would not recommend Flemings for the food nor the service. Shockingly disappointing.

This place was way overpriced and NOT worth the money. It was freezing cold and dark inside. I felt like I was in a cave. The steak prices were insane, and were nothing special. This was a special occasion so I ordered the bone in ribeye. I ordered it medium-rare and got medium well. I returned it and got another steak that was medium and no apologizes. For a steak that was close to $50 with no included sides I expected much more. I don't mind paying high prices for steak if it is worth it, but in this case I wish I had gone to Outback. My wife and I spent over $100 that night with no appz, salads, alcohol, or dessert and left VERY unhappy. This place might survive in any other city, but there is too much competition for high quality steak in Chicago.

Took a coworker and client here for dinner and had a fantastic meal. We all had steak and shared the mashed potatoes and asparagus - everyone was happy with their meal. The creme brûlée was on par and the wine menu is fairly extensive as they had several malbecs for us to choose from. Recommend if you want to take your time (we took 3 hours) to savor a great meal.

My son had recently graduated from the Navy RTC and we wanted a nice place to celebrate. We stopped by on a Friday night without a reservation but they were able to accommodate us quickly as it was still pretty early in the evening. Immediately one of the managers stopped by and introduced himself and offered any assistance he could. Our server came by promptly and took our drink orders. Throughout the evening the service was top notch and the steaks were excellent. The server did a good job keeping tabs on us even though she had a large party that she was also waiting on. To top it all off, when it was time to pay the bill the manager brought it over and told us it was their pleasure to buy my son's meal for him in appreciation for his service. He shook his hand and thanked him personally and showed his sincere gratitude. There are several steak houses in this area to choose from but I would highly recommend Flemings.

Absolutely to-die-for food, right down to their bread. Wine selection and cocktails were very good. Atmosphere is a little dark and almost has a masculine (but elegant) feel. Staff could have been a little more friendly and attentive to our need for service prior to being seated or served at the bar... but in their defense it was a little busy and we aren't the most aggressive, attention demanding individuals. Very pricey, but undeniably impressive food and drink. Will be back, even if it is just to try that $6 bar menu.

It's obvious this place relies on its reputation as a steakhouse for company schmoozing for people who don't mind wasting $$. I mean, really, $40 for 8 oz of carne with hardly anything else. Come on! It's not my favorite steakhouse but they definitely do a good job. Beware - it's extremely expensive to eat here (I spend around $100/per person). I highly suggest the dry aged ribeye cut, very solid. Also suggest the molten chocolate cake - it's the best out there. The staff are always nice and very accommodating. They accidentally overcooked my fiancé's steak and gave us a free one for the error - truly appreciated.

We have come here several times for happy hour & inexpensive drinks & Prime Burger (with Bacon...mmmmm, bacon). Appetizers are outstanding. Service: wonderful. We're making it a semi-regular trek here...it's a 1 hour 20 minute drive from our work, but so worth it. Overall great experience.

My husband and I went to Fleming's for the first time recently to celebrate our anniversary and we will absolutely be going back. The food was absolutely wonderful (the sweet chili calamari appetizer is awesome!) and the service was probably the best I have ever had. Our waiter was very professional, knowledgable, and clearly experienced. My husband and I truly felt like VIPs for the evening! Everyone we came across from the hostess to our waiter and even the manager, wished us a Happy Anniversary and did everything they could to make our experience special. I would highly recommend Fleming's and can't wait to go back.

Way underwhelming. Came here for a nice night out. And the food was average at best. Way overpriced for what you get even more expensive than Ruth's Chris or lovell's. Lovell's in lake forest has way better food and way better service. Definitely will make the drive to go somewhere worth the price. Highlights were well nothing was that memorable and there won't be much I crave from there. Nothing was very well seasoned and even the desert was lacking something. Do yourself a favor and skip out on this place.

Great steaks, great service, great sides. The only kind of cheap complaint is the drinks are kind of small. When I'm having a big steak and a big baked potato I want a big drink. Also there is no T-Bone or Porterhouse offered. Pricy but IMO one of the best tasting steaks around Chicagoland.

I am an atypical customer for this place, since I don't have an expense account, and also I'm not old and white (kidding, but not really). In fact, this place has been open for probably 3+ years and it was not until recently that I stopped in. What piqued my interest was amex sending me a coupon. It was for a free $50 worth of food, no further conditions. 50 american dollars, that would be able to buy me and like 4 of my friends a feast, right??? So I went over to the website and did some research. In truth, no, $50 does not go a long way, especially if you like balanced meals with some vegetable to go with your steak. In that case $50 will cover the meat, but you're out of pocket for anything else. But I did notice they had a happy hour bar menu. $6 burger, why not? So I went in knowing my coupon would not apply to the happy hour menu. So for 12 bucks, pre tax/tip I got a bacon cheeseburger, fries, and a beer. Not bad. The burger itself was actually pretty good. For $6 I can see myself eating lots of happy hour burgers there. On another day I did return to use the coupon, because I can't resist free money. Instead of ordering steaks and stuff though, I just got misc appetizer type things and called it a meal. I believe I got a french onion soup (pretty good), beet salad (fine), and the braised short rib (small portion, but good). Not bad, but probably not worth the $50 if I had paid my own money. So, the 4 stars are for the bar specials, and the service was excellent both times I went (bar and dining room). Otherwise this is a pricey place where I am not the target customer, and that is ok as long as they keep serving them $6 burger and fries (the bar also has some pretty good potato chips). Also I guess they have a nice wine list (presented on an iPad, which I felt was a misuse of the technology), but I'll just stick with my Trader Joe's Chuck Shaw.

Absolutely enjoyed our dining at Flemings. Baked Brie was delicious and lamb chops accompanied with the sauce were perfectly spiced and very tender. The server volunteered to make a drink that we wanted (caipirinha) and to our supersize they had the right Brazilian rum in the bar. We were able to be seated immediately as we came in unlike at Cheesecake Factory where we were told the wait was 1 hr. And you know what?... Was definitely worth to change our minds and walk 1min next door.

Overall a below-average experience for our Mother's Day dinner. We had a 6 pm reservation so we arrived before the restaurant filled up. First thing we noticed was that it was really, really dark inside. A manager even noted that they digitally can only get it really low or really high in terms of brightness. We started with wine and a few appetizers, and this was the best part of the meal. The brie appetizer and scallops were very tasty. Then things started to go a little south. We were sitting for quite a long time before our entrees arrived, and it seemed like folks who were seated well after us were getting their steaks before our entrees arrived. When my crab legs finally came, they didn't bring me any butter to dip them, and it took me 5 mins before I could get anyone's attention to bring it. Once they did, the legs were already pretty cold. Also, the legs seemed to be cooked too long, since the meat had a shredded texture (I cook crab legs at home, and that happened to me when I cooked them for too long). First world problems, I know, but still not getting what we paid for. The creamed spinach was a joke. They might as well have listed it under their soups, because that's basically what it was. A soupy, creamy mess with a little bit of spinach in there. No one would eat it, so we returned it and were not charged. The lamb chops were good but a bit burned on the outside, but I gladly ate my mom's leftovers there since the crab legs and creamed spinach didn't really leave me with much. I'm assuming my dad's filet was the best thing ordered because it was gone before I could ask for a taste. Maybe the takeaway here is to stick with the steak.

What a wonderful place! Great atmosphere, tremendous service but best of all is the food! Every time I have gone to Fleming's the staff has treated me like royalty. I remember the first time I went, I sat at the bar, the impression the bartender made on me had me hooked for every Sunday! I love FLEMING'S all the food is great!

My boyfriend I went here on a Friday night about 20 minutes before our reservations and it wasn't too busy, so we got right in. The hostesses were very kind upon our entrance and gave us a very nice booth. To start we got the pan crisped pork belly. I'm not big into bacon, but this was amazing. It had a cherry reduction and grits and when you combined them with the pork it was perfection. For my meal I got the chicken, which was very good but not amazing. Just your standard half chicken. My boyfriend got a dry aged strip steak with a poached lobster tail and bernaise, and he said it was very good. His steak was cooked to his liking but he thought in some skinnier points of the steak it was a little to well done but he still ate it. For dessert we got the Caramel chocolate walnut cake which was very good. We both couldn't stop eating it. It was a little overpowering in chocolate flavor but neither of us minded. Overall this was a pleasing experience.

I had the opportunity to eat at Fleming's during a work dinner and left fairly unimpressed for what it should be (considering the price and how they position themselves). Fair warning, my next comment is very superficial - my first impression was dismal as I walked in. We were greeted by the head Host/Maitre'd - he had long hair, a poor fitting suit and two awkward diamond studs in his ears.... Anyway, we were quickly seated and greeted by a very pleasant waiter. They add some modernity with an ipad wine and dessert menu. Beyond that, the menu was very impressive - it was a smart take on a classic steak menu. Items like glazed pork belly, sliced filet apps, etc. were a welcome surprise. Ultimately, it comes down to the food. I ordered the sliced filet app, which was very good and the bone-in ribeye, which was average, at best. Basically, for the price, it should be a lot stronger.

This place really is as good as it gets!! Old fashion customer service... Usually we hold off on going to a more expensive place like this for a special occasion, but recently we have had some things going on that we needed to forget for an evening so we decided to treat ourselves with a night out on the town. Our server greeted us by name when we got to our table. Water and bread with 2 delicious spreads were quickly brought to our table along with an iPAD that contained the entire list of wines! OMG! What a wonderful list it is!! Once we went through and picked out a wine, we were able to email the description of the wine, etc., to our email address. What a great idea! We each, my husband and myself, had a glass and a half of The Dreaming Tree - Crush. Winemaker: Dave Matthews (yes, that Dave Matthews!). We should have ordered an entire bottle it was so good! On to the main event: One of the specials caught my eye so I ordered the Filet Mignon with Grilled Shrimp and the Fleming Potatoes. The Filet was cooked to medium rare perfection! The shrimp were large and beautifully seasoned. My husband ordered the aged Prime Rib Eye and a loaded baked potato. He was in heaven! Dessert? of course we did!! Fresh Berries and Chantilly Cream, coffee service and a relaxed atmosphere topped off the evening. Our server, Kristen, was very attentive and eager to make our evening out a superior experience. With the bill, was her business card, she let us know that if we enjoyed our evening and were to return, to ask for her on our next visit. It was a truely A-1 experience! We will go back again!

We dine here very often, love the 5-6-7 deal. At the end of summer last year, we realized they had a patio...unfortunately it was a little late. So the first nice day this year, we jumped at the opportunity to dine out there. It was awesome!! It's a great little patio, shaded, but not too much. The bar deal is applicable out there too, a nice vodka-lemonade and a prime burger...I'd say that's the perfect start to summer!!

Fleming's is a wonderful restaurant. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The food is amazing. We had the monthly special which included a scallop appetizer, French onion soup or edge salad and lobster and filet. Each course was perfectly prepared and served beautifully. Brought a 16 member international group to a fine steakhouse in America! Staff was very good and responsive. Servers made suggestions but not pushy. Prime Rib was exceptional as was the chocolate fountain dessert. Garlic mashed potatoes went over well. Asperigas was only average yet it not in season. French onion soup more salty than I prefer. Wedge blue cheeses salad with a large slice of hard blue cheeses and large bacon chips was exceptional.

Went to celebrate our anniversary on a Thursday evening. The restaurant was packed for 7pm. We both had steaks and I can say the food, wait staff, service, and ambiance were top notch. Price was on the high side, but you get what you pay for. Thanks for a great night! Highly recommend.

I took my wife and a few friends here for their Simi wine dinner. It was fixed menu paired with wines for $95 per person. I have to say this was by far one of the best bargains we have ever hit upon. The food and wines were fantastic, and I'm glad I used a cab, because they pretty much gave you as much as you wanted. First course was 3 different crostini with Chardonnay, Russian river valley, second tuna Niçoise salad with Sauvignon blanc, third stuffed veal with Pinot noir, fourth strip steak with two different cabs. Finally, cheese cake and limoncello for desert. Food portions were more than generous, and like I said, plenty of wine. We all had a fantastic time and will be looking forward to their next event.

This was an interesting experience! We had a gift card and decided to enjoy a night at this steakhouse. The ambience is very classic and the service was outstanding at our table, iffy at the bar. One bartender ignored us to only wait on the "regulars" but after we moved down the bar the other server was friendly and attentive. Once shown to our table, we were waited on as if we were the most important people, and the room was full of customers. This is not a cheap place, each item is a la carte, and even a baked potato for a steak is over $10.00. My steak was $45.00 but easily one of the best, melt in your mouth filets and I had left overs to bring home. I even splurged on dessert and coffee. My husband had scallops and they were tender and full of flavor. Not quite a shirt and tie place but a sport coat and a dress are proper (the guy in the backwards baseball hat looked out of place). This is a special occasion type of restaurant, but I will eagerly await a return visit as upon hearing it was our first visit we were given a gift card to use when we return!

Well tonight was my second time visiting flemings and will probably be my last. The service is decent, the food is decent... Nothing special. I personally believe the price doesn't match the quality! If I'm paying $45 for an 8 oz filet it should be amazing and have that melt in your mouth type flavor/texture- unfortunately this did not.

Great restaurant. It's a nice place to go to for a fancy dinner date. I took my gf here and I have no regrets about trying this place out. The steak was cooked just how I wanted it and the service was excellent. The mashed potatoes were delicious but the salad wasn't too great, neither was the bread. The calamari had a nice taste to it. It had a sweet and sour taste with a little spicy kick to it. This is a must have. The restaurant wasn't too lit up and it was kind of loud so it was too easy to hear other people at my own table. However, the waiters and servers were very kind and patient. Our main waiter was kind enough to tell us any specials they had and what was best to order from the menu. He even told us what was going for a cheaper price than usual. People were always making sure our table was clean and that our water glasses were always full. The steak is the main reason you should come to this restaurant. It was juicy and the outside was crusted just as I had asked. Come here for a nice late night date. Not a really good place for big groups or to bring kids

Have been here about 6 times since it opened. The food is always decent although very pricey. Make sure you go during prime times (6-8pm) in order to receive the best service. I've been here late after a movie (ie., 9pm)and for some reason the service gets a bit slow. They have occasional deals online which makes it more reasonable. From a food quality standpoint, I have never been disappointed. They have a very nice wine list but most selections are $50+

Awesome service. Outstanding food. Laid back, upscale atmosphere. My idea of heaven. The one time I ate in the dining room I had swordfish, a side of mac & cheese, and the walnut turtle pie for dessert. It was the best meal I've ever had.....ever. The bar has an awesome special nightly until 7pm. 5 different cocktails, 5 different glass of wine, and 5 different appetizers. Each for $6. The burger is also $6 and it might be the best burger I've ever had from a steakhouse. There is also a beer special, 2 for $6. This month is Corona Extra! If you are just there to have drinks, make sure you sit AT the bar. They serve you the most delicious house made potato chips. The walnut turtle pie is unbelievable. 3 words....REAL. WHIPPED. CREAM. So rich, so creamy. So good!

We recently dined at Fleming's to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Every step of the night was lovely. We were greeted at the door by name(maybe they didn't have a lot of reservations that night to know who we were), with "happy anniversary". Very nice welcoming. Followed by being seated in a nice booth that offered us some privacy away from the groups dining in the main restaurant. A very nice touch-we were offered the option of having a black cloth napkin instead of the white which I thought was outstanding. No white fuzz on my black clothes! Next we were given the ipad with the wine list. A fun thing to look thru, although ours kept freezing and we had to ask for another, which was no big deal. For the meal, we started with a wedge salad which was outstanding!!! My husband had the special, filet mignon with crab legs, and I had a filet mignon with truffle lobster. The steaks were fabulous, perfectly cooked and flavorful. I do not eat steak often, so when I do I want it to be uber good, and this was. My only complaint about both dishes, the crab and lobster were very very small, maybe 4 bites total for the lobster. The crab legs were split so they are easy to eat, but again somewhat small. Great food, just not as much as we are used to. We had sauteed mushrooms on the side which were yummy. For dessert a chocolate style martini and warm chocolate cake. Both were delicious and the perfect end to the perfect meal. Our server was warm and friendly and everyone stopped by at some point during the night to wish us a happy anniversary, and spoke to us by name which is a nice touch. Very personable. And lastly, the wine.... a great list with some wonderful options. They decant the wine which is a nice addition and needed with many of their wines. I will definitely come back and recommend Flemings to people. If you can afford to go regularly, do it, if not go for a special occasion, it's worth it. I would give it 5 stars based on the experience, I knocked one off only because I felt the entrees could of been a bit larger, my husband who is not a big eater ate his dinner and part of mine which tells me it was not enough food. Perhaps next time we will add on another side dish....

We love this place as it is our go to place for a quick, delicious and very reasonable happy hour/date night dinner. After that we head over to the movie theater! Their $6 menu at the bar is fantastic! We love the burgers, pork belly, fries, home made potato chips and shrimp dish. We didn't really like the calamari in sweet chilli sauce and it was simply too sweet, but our waiter was great and he took it off the menu got us. When we aren't in a rush, we have had fantastic steak, chicken and pork chops!

Love coming here for happy hour!! During the summer I really enjoy sitting in the outdoor patio area that allows you to order off the happy hour bar menu! Always enjoy their food, and especially enjoy their lemon basil martini! Lip licking deliciousity!

This place is really fantastic! My husband and I were there to celebrate a milestone we had achieved. The service is excellent! We were seated in the bar area for dinner and we waited a while to get our menu. Maybe they thought we were there for happy hour. No big deal. So, I went up to the front desk to ask for our menu and they were very apologetic and got our menus to us right away. They also called the manager over and we got a personal apology from him along with a free appetizer, which we weren't even expecting at all. We just wanted a dinner menu. They went above and beyond to make something so small and not a big deal right. Our waiter was amazing! He was so knowledgeable about the food and the wine. I was asking him a few questions about wine suggestions and he was so helpful and polite and informative. When we told the manager how excellent our service was, he told us that our waiter had only been there a short time... with his knowledge and efficiency, we thought he had been there for years! The food was SO GOOD! I had the steak and they cooked it PERFECTLY! I had the lobster and caviar added on top of my steak. That was my first time trying caviar and it was good. My steak was thick and the lobster was delicious! I ended up drinking a glass of their moscato. It was some of the best moscato I've ever had. The prices are high, but the quality and service is worth it. The ambiance, decor and lighting was perfect for a date night. We would highly recommend Fleming's and we will be back!

5 for $6 'till 7 = HAPPY HOUR!!!!! Was not a fan of the chardonnay but definitely enjoyed the cabernet. I like red more than white though. Seared Ahi Tuna is a must. The tuna is beautifully seared and seasoned. It literally melts in your mouth. Add a touch of spicy mustard sauce, which I believe has wasabi mixed in, and it kicks the tuna up a notch. YUM I want more! Fleming's Prime Burger w/cheese and bacon was moist and delicious. Creme Brulee with fresh seasonal berries was amazing. Smooth and delicate vanilla bean custard with a nice hard caramelization on top. It also came with a side of whipped cream which surprisingly was unbelievable! I am not a fan of whipped cream. I always ask for no whipped cream on my ice cream sundaes...i'll remove it from cakes...BUT this was dreamy. It was so light and not too sweet. I could have eaten the whipped cream alone as my dessert and left happy. The service is excellent here. We told our waiter that we were sharing the dishes and when the burger arrived it was already cut in half on two separate plates. They keep an eye out on where you are with your meal/drink and would come at the appropriate time. My only complaint would be that its way too dark in the restaurant. Eventually your eyes will adjust but I don't think it would hurt to turn up the lights just a little. But overall I enjoyed the good food and good company. Enjoy!

I arrived Saturday night about 6 p.m. with 3 teen boys, dressed like 3 teen boys! We had never heard of this restaurant before and truthfully, we were planning on going to the Cheesecake Factory and didn't want to wait the hour plus! I sent my son in to see if there was a wait, and he came back out saying they would seat us immediately. Imagine my embarrassment when I walked in and saw all the suits and cocktail dresses! I thanked the hostess for allowing us access in our attire and she was very gracious and thanked me in return for coming in! We were taken to a table and were immediately greeted by our server Kyle. He was extremely friendly, warm, and most of all, knowledgable. He was able to answer all the boys questions and accurately describe not only every flavor of our selections, but inform me just how strong my drink was going to be(which, by the way, was AMAZING!!!!). When we ordered he let us know that the molten cake would need a 20 minute lead time, which was fortunate considering it was my son's 15 th birthday celebration, and molten cake just happens to be his favorite. All of our orders were delivered in perfect timing and our drinks were constantly filled. The boys were blown away by the experience! The manager came to check on us and followed up after finding out, I am assuming from Kyle, that is was my sons birthday, by gifting him with a box of truffles and a gift card for a future visit....of which there will be many! I am a retired, albeit reluctantly, chef that left the industry after 20+ years of working every aspect of the industry from prep to exec/manager, I understand the hectic pace of a Saturday night and for us to be seated and treated with not only gracious friendliness, but also for my teen and his friends to be shown the respect they were, was such a testament of how well this establishment is managed and the staff is trained. I am always looking for an experience like I would have provided to my customers and for once in my life, I can say, I was not only impressed, I was also blown away! They provided my son with a celebration that his friends were still raving over the next night! We will be loyal customers from now on! (Extremely satisfied customer!)

Great service, good food. The style of steak here is charred, so make sure you order it less cooked than usual. Our medium came out medium-well. The Alaskan King Crab legs were fresh, but they could have been cut and prepared better for easier eating. Who wants to use their hands at such a fancy place?! Though they do provide a warm towel and lemon to clean up once you are done. The highlights for me were the warm, complimentary bread with flavored butter and the Chantilly Cream that accompanied dessert, AMAZING! I'd rate this place higher if the prices were more affordable.

Fleming's has a good formula; I have never had a bad meal or experience at any location across the US. Brian was our server and he provided great service. My filet arrived exactly how i wanted it to, along with a baked potato that came with all the great toppings on the side. Very friendly service across the board, from being greeted at the entrance, getting checked on throughout the meal, and when I departed. I come to the area frequently for work, so I plan on being here often to enjoy the service and food.

The service is great, the food is good, however the restaurant smells like a dirty bathroom that hasn't been cleaned in months. We have to keep our nose close to our food to avoid the smell. The bartender said it was dirty drains. We really wanted to try something new. If the next time we walk in here and it smells the same, back to Sullivans on Thursday night.

I was there with a group of friends for a birthday dinner (approx 6 adults). We had a reservation so we were seated right away. The place itself is very nice, very classy and appropriate for birthday celebrations or anniversaries. The Food: I started off with a cup of french onion soup (I just cant stay away from french onion soup) and it was good, not the best I've ever had but not horrible either. Then I ordered the filet mignon with a side of potatoes which were both fabulous! The sides you do have to buy separately but the portions are big enough to share with someone else. They also have a few selections of rubs/sides you can pick for your main steak which of course is extra but some people in our group went with that and loved the extra seasoning in their meat. For dessert I order the chocolate lava cake.... OMG that was something else!! Truly enjoyed every single bite of that cake that I almost dint want to share!! lol Drinks: Since we were there we ended up getting a few bottles of wine even though I am not a wine connoisseur however I did enjoy wine with a good steak. Some people at the table ordered beer and others just random cocktails. I found it interesting that there was a tablet at the table to help you find the perfect wine/food pairing incase you are not sure of your selection. I felt like I would've appreciated this if I was there on my own or with someone who wasn't very knowledgeable of the different wines. This place is pretty pricey but I knew that when I was invited to go there and I also don't frequent that location that often. I would come back with someone special or for a special occasion in the future!

So Flemings is the kinda place we drive by, and keep driving. It is an expense account, business entertainment kind of place. However, we had this $40, Amex gift card that was expiring, and we just had no choice. Monday night at Flemings. We split a wedge salad which was very good. I had the small plate hanger steak and some fries, which was good. It sits on some tortillas which are the color of the steak, making you think you are getting more steak, it works, my mind was convinced. My fries were $10.50, I was fooled into thinking they would be special, they were not. Babes had the lonely pork chop on a plate for $34. It was good, not special, but good. No were near as good as the pork chop she had at Gemini Bistro in the city a few days earlier. She had a glass of wine, I had a cocktail, and our suburban light dinner was $100, less 40, plus tip. Look around the room and yep, business men entertaining clients on expense accounts, from the area. Next door there is a perfectly good Kona Grill, and a block away there is a stellar Wildfire Grill. The other kicker, this is owned by Outback Steakhouse group, go there instead.

We like this location more than the downtown location. It's less busy and parking is really easy. The management and staff are really friendly as well. Now the restaurant has a bar area where you can be more casual - burgers, pan crisp pork belly, tenderloin carpaccio, drinks, calamari, endless salty chips (summer shandy please!), 2 tvs, fun chatter, are all part of the experience. The larger part of the room is for more formal dining - the dim lighting, attentive service and greetings, comfortable surroundings - all provide that steak house feel. On our latest visit, we really enjoyed our salads and prime rib. The lava cake, carrot cake and chocolate truffles will have us coming back for more. And every time we go, they make us feel like we're weekly regulars - that's not easy to do and that good feeling must be cascading from leadership. Went yesterday with my mom and a couple of her friends for the 5-6-7 deal. It was great! The outdoor patio was perfect, and a much better alternative than inside -- waaaaay too dark in there! I had the Clover Club, it was tasty. Would love to make my own, and would definitely order it again. It was refreshing and light, and they didn't skimp on the gin. Also, who can turn down a $6 cocktail, with good liquor, when a Bud Light is $5.75? Crazy. I can buy a case of BL for that. Also had the prime burger, YUM. Perfectly cooked, perfect amount of cheese. And the bacon. Oh wow, the bacon. Whatever glaze was on that was sooooooo good. It was sweet and savory. Ah. Mouth is watering thinking about it. It was also on a pretzel bun, loved it! Overall, such a good experience. And the service was awesome, too.

Delicious food. Service was amazing! From the moment we walked in they took our name down and as we walked out the manager thanked my husband by his name. The food was perfectly cooked and the balance of flavors was phenomenal & on par with what you will experience at other steak houses such as wildfire. Their wine menu is ridiculous (in a good way) and some of their cocktails are available skinny.

Ate both here, and at the nearby Wildfire. Definitely would return to Fleming's instead of them. The steak was much better. Wildfire's was over cooked and seasoned, to where it wasn't about the steak, but all about the salt and pepper crusty char on top. That's not a good steak. Fleming's was much better prepared, and had that beautiful even sear, with the caramelized, rendered fat, great seasonings, and tender and juicy. I asked for medium-rare and got exactly that. Where Fleming's further excelled was with my cocktails. The bartender knew her stuff! I got a Manhattan that was properly prepared and served. She knew how to mix drinks, and the importance of not just shaking any and every cocktail (very few cocktails should be shaken). Great food, great service, great cocktails.

Just recently came to try out Fleming's with my husband since it's been on my to try list for quite some time but never got around to it. The place itself has a very fancy feel, almost like Mastros but in the burbs, with dark dim lighting and red accents. The hostess was very nice upon arriving and gave us a nice booth to sit at. We did do an early dinner so there weren't that many people there. Honestly, we came to compare this steakhouse to Wildfire which we usually go to right across the street because Wildfire definitely seems a lot more affordable and always yummy. I'm glad we gave Fleming's a try and our server Anne was super attentive and nice throughout our meal, but then again it wasn't dinner rush so I'm hoping the service is just as good when it's super busy. We honestly came to try a few appetizers and desserts because we weren't in the mood for steak. I'm sure the steak is good, just like it is at Wildfire but I'm more of an appetizer gal when it comes to these kind of places since I like teriyaki filet mignon in general. Anyways, they brought out complimentary bread with two types of spreads and it was one of the best breads I've ever had, so they get a star for that. It was served super warm, crispy yet soft on the inside with a parmesan flavor to it and the spreads were very unique and felt nice to get something besides butter. I preferred the tomato basil one to the gorgonzola cranberry one, but both were definitely tasty. I decided to try the special soup of the day which was the butternut squash with some chestnut spices and I have to say I didn't love it. For $11 for a cup of soup, it's definitely not cheap, and it was too much on the spices side than focusing on the actual butternut squash, but no biggie. The salads on the menu were kinda bla and nothing stood out for me, I guess I'm used to my chopped salad which I'm obsessed with and these were kinda simple for me so I decided to pass. We also tried the Calamari which was like $16 and that's once again pricey for calamari. It was served with sweet peppers and I didn't love it. It seemed a little too saucy for me and not as crispy as I normally prefer. Another appetizer we got was the tower of onion rings which here you finally get your bang for your buck since for $11 you get a lot of them (see attached pic) and they are served with this chipotle mayo sauce and it was one of the best onion rings I've ever had so I would definitely get those again with a petite filet mignon. One thing that's annoying here is that all the sides are extras, when you get your steak or your lobster, that's all you get. You have to pay for all your extra sides and they aren't cheap by any means. Okay, so I can't leave without getting dessert and I had to get the classic creme brulee and let me just say it was phenomenal. Seriously, one of the best I've had. In fact, next time I'm just going to come and get a capuccino and my creme brulee and call it a day. They also had a special of the day creme brulee made of chocolate and espresso and if I wasn't stuffed I would have gotten that one as well, but I always just a place by its classic version and this one is worth getting. Also, a decent portion for the price. So overall, Flemings is okay. It has great customer service, decent food, some things are definitely better than others but I'm not a fan of their overall menu. I don't like that it costs $50 to get a steak which doesn't include anything besides the steak. I also don't like that their signature burger isn't on the dining room menu and you only have to sit at the bar to order it. Well what if I wan't to be sitting in a classy environment eating a burger, I see no issue with that, but maybe if they were open for lunch they would have it there. I'll be back, maybe to take advantage of their happy hour, but I wasn't blown away.
