Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

I went when it first opened and have been reluctant to try it again. First, the place was disorganized with its identity. Does it want to be high-end italian or casual? The building was initially a nice steakhouse and the core identity of grandeur remain, but then they drape your table with paper and give silverware setups wrapped in paper napkins. The menu is entirely too large. I appreciate a nice selection, but there are literally more than a hundred menu items. There's no way a low to mid volume restaurant can produce that many fresh items and do them well. I love seafood. I told my wife I was gonna take a death-defying chance and ordered the "frutti del mare", which done well is heavenly. But since the place just opened I figured it was most likely a safe bet. The plate comes out and the mussels are all closed (dead, and most likely frozen). On top of that they gave out crab legs on the platter with no tool to open them. The server summoned the man I assume to be an owner and I explained to him that the mussels were dead and I was taking my life in my hands by eating the dish. He was unaware of the nature of seafood and had to verify with the kitchen before comping me my meal of potential death. Did I mention that a pitcher of domestic beer is over $20?!?! The owner was very nice. The server was excellent. The business model was horrid. I'm willing to give them one more chance to fix things. La Dolce Vita is one of the finest Italian restaurants around. This place has to step it up to even be slightly competitive in its own town

**Buyer beware** I received a coupon from Ti Amo for supporting the Lemont football team, but they changed the rules and did not accept the coupon for my order; despite what was said on the coupon. I don't trust businesses that pull these types of "bait and switches" on their customers.

Great environment. There are two sides to the restaurant, bar and dining. It has a fireplace in one room- awesome! The servers were knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive (with out being overbearing). The food was delicious and made with love! Meatballs were tasty, calamari was fresh and not chewy at all. I had the Chicken Piccata and controlled myself enough so I could have take homes for the next day. Do yourself a favor- go to Ti Amo!

Been here a dozen times and always excellent. Wife and I have tried a few apps, most pasta & sandwiches, and pizza. I've had dreams about the minestrone soup (and so has my mom!). Try the Pasta Pizano, Gnocci, or Chicken Parm. Service is always fantasitic. Price is comparable to other good Italian places. Main seeting area has nice fireplace and cozy. Bar area is very casual - even has slot machines. Not sure why others have had bad experiences as this has never happened to us.

My fiance and I go here about once a month and couldnt say enough wonderful things about it. We love it. It is clean and the service is great. We always get the baked clams and they are just melt in your mouth delicious.

I must admit I am a creature of habit, and when our favorite brunch server at William Tell Inn in Countryside disappeared, we were heartbroken! However, upon hearing that Loretta (as well as many other key people who made William Tell what it was for so many years) had opened a new venture, we just had to try it. Trust me - you will not be disappointed! In addition to the warmth and charm that Loretta, Armando and Mark bring to your experience, the food is fantastic! The cuisine is Italian, but with enough other offerings to please just about anyone. Start with the appetizer of huge meatballs in a nest of smooth polenta with San Marzano tomato sauce! Almost enough for a meal, this was an unusual and extremely tasty start to a great meal! Our grilled seafood medley was also delicious, perfectly cooked and served over greens with a balsamic reduction, it was the perfect offset to the rich and hearty meatballs. We had no room for an entree, so we went right for dessert! The cheesecake was homemade, and so delicious we ordered another piece to keep from fighting over the last bite - (ok we did still fight but I won). Give it a try - don't let the construction in the area deter you from making the trip!

One word describes this restaurant, amazing. Being second generation Italian and my grandparents being from Italy make me very particular about Italian food. Infact, there are very few Italian restaurants I eat at because I feel they are to "American" and not traditional. Ti Amo however, is a hidden gem. It is authentic and makes me feel I'm right in my Nonna's kitchen. A must try and ask for Loretta she will make sure you have a great dining experience by going over and beyond.

I don't have much reason to go to Ti Amo since I live within walking distance of La Dolce Vita, but since they deliver and tonight it was cold out, I decided to give them a shot. First of all, the food took an hour and a half to get here. Of note, the restaurant is less than 10 minutes away from me. Second, they forgot to include the pasta dish in my order. How hilarious is that? An Italian restaurant forgets the pasta. Both of these things could be overlooked if when calling to find out how the order would be corrected, the person handling the call exhibited any amount of customer service. There was none. The person handling the issue/call offered to send the pasta out "when they could" and then vaguely promised a small (seriously, a fraction of total) refund. No doubt, this made me angry and I got a little heated on the phone. I was then hung up on. I called back and asked for the manager. After a fair bit of going back and forth with her, she offered a refund (though I have my doubts it will actually appear on my bank account) and then was also rude. I have heard many rumors in town about the family that owns this restaurant and the crappy things they have done in the past. I wrongly decided to ignore these warnings and give them a shot. In the future, I will walk the two blocks to La Dolce Vita where the food is great and they treat one like a human being and a neighbor rather than the customer service nightmare that is Ti Amo. On a positive note, the minestrone was good which is why they got 2 stars instead of one. **UPDATE** I was refunded for the entire dish. Before running out to get a full meal from Dolce, I tried the meatballs and veal that did show up at my door. I was prepared to bump their review level up given the refund if the food was decent. It was not that great. The veal was chewy and the meatballs were small and overworked. Their marinara is very good though. I can see why they sell it by the quart. Again though, given their prices (Which are comparable or more than Dolce), La Dolce Vita is a much better value as well as a more elegant environment if dining in.

We had the margherita pizza. Not good. The mozzarella definitely was not fresh mozzarella. There was too much garlic. Way too much cheese for what a traditional margherita should have. The crust was terrible and crumbly, something like the consistency of a shortbread but without the delicious taste. The basil was bitter. Our waiter was very nice as was the hostess, but the bartender was on another planet. Almost completely ignored us. We won't be back. One of the worst pizzas I've had. Honestly I'd rather have a Dominos pizza.

Went on Saturday night about 8:30 pm and walked into an almost empty restaurant. I should have taken the hint and gone elsewhere. While our server was polite the food was borderline terrible. I started with a gnocchi soup which was so salty I almost gagged. I was starving so I pushed it aside and waited for my main course. Again, I should have just left a couple bucks on the table for the saltwater soup and left. My main course of chicken Alfredo was all wet. Literally, It was more like a white pasty pasta soup than any Alfredo I've ever had. The chicken they used was the kind you microwave from a frozen bag. yecch!!! Never eat here!

Best pizza in Lemont!

Ti Amo has been open for almost a year but this was our first visit. We kept hearing mixed reviewed from friends and neighbors who had been there but we finally decided to give it a try. The meal started on a promising note - great bread and olive oil on the table, a crisp and flavorful salad and a friendly waiter. The ambiance is not a bit different from the place that preceeded it (Oliverio's), a comfortable dining room and a cozy bar. We ordered eggplant parmigianna and linguini frutti de mare - the portion sizes were generous. The eggplant was dense and piled high with a slice of melted cheese and gravy. The eggplant itself was not very flavorful and the gravy was thick and heavy tasting, not really my cup of tea. My husband did enjoy the linguini although he thought it was a bit bland. The seafood it was topped with was ok too. Overall, Ti Amo wasn't the worst italian food we've ever had but there are several places fairly close that have much better food. I might give Ti Amo another try and get their pizza.

Salty linguini with white clam sauce. Salty waitress too. Charged us $2.95 to split an entree but the restaurant didn't actually split it- they brought an extra plate for us to do it ourselves at the table. Really? Charging me for a plate? And if I wanted to serve myself I would have cooked at home. The waitress brought out bowls without explanation and then was upset with us for using them inappropriately for our salad. Average food combined with rude waitstaff- won't be back.

Our appetizer of three types of bruschetta was very tasty and presented nicely. The minestrone soup was flavorful and packed with veggies, although it wasn't hot enough for me (temperature wise). My husband had the beef enchilada soup and it was very good, but definitely heavier and greasier than my minestrone. My Veal Scaloppini was delicious, tender, and portion size was large. Dessert was amazing, we had the homemade cannoli. I like coffee with dessert and the coffee was weak (even cappuccino). Overall a nice place, good food, and great service...we will be back soon.

THE BEST FOOD. This is as good as it gets. Go indulge yourself! What a tasty experience!!!

After reading reviews, I was reluctant to try this restaurant. What a mistake that would have been, this is quite frankly the best Italian Food I have had in a very long time. The atmosphere was wonderful, the staff could not possibly have been any friendlier. My husband had the Meat Lasagna and loved it, I had the Gnocchi Caprese which was wonderful. Cannoli was amazing and the wine I ordered was a real glass, not a thimble like most places. I'm completely dumbfounded that there were any negative reviews. Our waiter was Marc and was so completely knowledgeable about every single item on the menu, we felt that no matter what we ordered, it would be delicious. He was fantastic. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU GIVE THIS PLACE A TRY, I feel very comfortable telling you that you will not regret your decision!

Establishment was very busy on Valentine's Day and all people there worked hard to make sure all our needs were met. Food was phenomenal and not pricey at all. Judy the owner was a delighted to spend time with our party and was a pleasure to talk with. Mark too was funny and had laughs about his OCD issues. Sorry Mark, had to go there. Thanks again guys for a wonderful evening.

Amazing service! These people are extremely friendly and actually seem to care about the customer. They were more than willing to accomadate our every need. The food was average, I had the "giant" suffed shells. They give you 3 of them on a plate. No one that I went with really cared for the potatoe soup because it literally is just potatoes in a cream broth. No bacon, cheese, etc.... But the minestrone soup was again, good but average. They bring it out in this cute serving bowl and then leave it on the table, which I like and thought was a clever idea. The desserts are homemade and we had a delicious canolli. Overall average food but honestly amazing service.

This is a great little hidden trrasure in Lemont. The food is very good and the service excellent. Veal Scallopini is delicious and Roasted peppers and cheese is a wonderful sharing appetizer.. Conversly if you are looking for something more casual they have terrific pizza. I would highly recomment this restaurant - you won't be disappointed.

I have always loved pizza, so when a new pizza place opens near me I always have to try it. First & foremost this meant overlooking Ti Amo's first glaring problem...they are a bit overpriced. Moving beyond that my family and I ordered a Ti Amo salad along with one thin crust pizza & one pan pizza. Arriving to pick up the pizza presented a whole new problem, Ti Amo doe not have a proper carry out set up, instead they just put someone in the old coat check room from when any number of failed steakhouses called this location home. Also since they do not have a proper set, the employee in charge of the carry out had to leave the area and go to the kitchen to check & see if the meal was ready, so if even there are only three people waiting it can cause a massive log jam. Getting the pizza & salad home we dug in, the salad was by far too small for the 10 bucks paid and barely was enough for the two people it said it was for. The pizza had a problem of only being lukewarm at best(most likely due to the long wait at pick up). The crust had problems on the thin crust pizza, the texture was not right and was bland. The cheese on the pizza was okay but nothing special. I would like to point out that the sauce had a really good flavor, as well as they had great ingredients(sausage, peppers, ect). Overall Ti Amo offers a rather disappointing pizza experience. They might have a better chance if they were in a different area, but since they ate competing with places such as Turnabout, Jimbo's, and a whole host of other pizza joints that make a better pizza for less money, I would recommend you pass on Ti Amo.

We have been very happy with Ti Amo's, we really love the pizza and soups. A group of 8 of us went for dinner. We had pastas, fish, sandwiches etc. Everyone was very pleased. Good addition to our area!

Service was excellent and prices were reasonable. Food was great.

Been here for Sunday brunch. It is excellent if you have ever been to the clubhouse it is comparable and about half the price, the banana french toast is fantastic. Definitely try the eggs benedict and eggplant parmesan.

Ok, I was REALLY...hoping this was the next great restaurant in Lemont...but I think not!!!....We went to this place with 2 other couples for dinner. when entering, I thought I was in a funeral parlor...it was too quiet. I see immediately the cloth table cloths and cloth napkins...right away I knew the prices would be too high for this place. So for the price and size of the entrees you would think you were going to receive fantastic Italiane cuisine...NO!......I had clams in white sauce and their was only 4 clams in shells in my bowl!...I had the same exact dish at La Dolce and you at least get 12!...And their was no taste with this dish...it was just blah!....I really wanted to be better than La Dolce...but not!.....The salad was too small for the price also. Others in the party had the red clams, other pasta and the girls split a pizza. The girls said the pizza was ok but VERY OVER PRICED!!...AGAIN! My buddy had the red clam sauce and I thought maybe that would have more flavor, but it did not... Also, the beer / mixed drinks were way over priced and not worth it...if we go back, I will have water or iced tea.... I hope the owner reads these reviews and addresses them here on Yelp, because if he don't, he will be another failed restaurant...please stay, improve your business...I really want you to succeed. I guarantee if you lost the cloth linens, tone done the atomoshere, familes will come, you have made this place too pretentious with the prices way too high, food quality too low, and portion sizes too small, this in my book equals an out of business sign in 6 months...Please correct !!!! And by the way the coupons you offer are ridiculous....dont waste your money if you are not going to offer worth while coupons...especially for a new restaurant starting out...Just terrible marketing!!! Owner LISTEN

My family and I have eaten here several times and this is one of those places that seams to be a well kept secret. The food is wonderful and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I have tried several dishes and my favorites are the eggplant parmesan and of course the pizza, especially the signature versions ( any of them ). I hope this place is not kept a secret for too long. It would be a shame if more people do not find out how good this place is. You must also save room for dessert. Ti Amo is a must try!
(5)Vaidas M.
When we first looked for a place for lunch and saw TiAmo's huge menu, we thought this place is going to be average. However, once we tried it, we were pleasantly surprised of how good the food was. First we ordered fried calamari, which were perfectly cooked. Then we followed up with the main dishes which were excellent. Italian beef sandwich with home made chips - pure bliss. Beef was better than Portillos and home made chips were out of this world. TiAmos salad was very good as well. NY Strip Steak was perfectly cooked. Baked meat lasagna was tasteful. We were happy we chose TiAmo for lunch and would go back there to try something different from their menu again. Loved it so far!
(5)Larry G.
ODD TO SAY THE LEAST...Ordered the clams with white sauce and ADDED the mussels for $4.95 but one huge problem for 3 guys that ordered this: this place gave each of us mussels and decided that none of us get any clams. I guess the chef don't know what the word ADD means, but it does not mean INSTEAD of!!!!....We spent over $240 here and promise you we will not be back, I still can't believe this as I will not forget....
