Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

The best deep dish pizza out there!!

A must stop returning to Chicago area! Great deep dish, salad with Gorgonzola dressing and attentive, polite service. Worth going out of the way for any Lou's.

This is the closest pizza place to our house and we love it. It's in a big red barn with a separate carry out entrance similar to other Lou's. The quality of pizza and experience is similar to other Lou locations and there always seems to be pizza samples in the carry out area on Friday evenings. When you call they can tell you what you ordered last which is helpful. We go here regularly for carry out but sometimes dine in and it's always consistent for food and service.

THIS is the place to get Chicago pizza. Born and raised in the area I've tried all the Chicago pizza restaurants and this one is by far my favorite. Staff is great always accommodating even to my crazy family. Food is outstanding!! I recommend the house salad and then for pizza our favorite is tomato garlic sure sounds weird but give it a shot it's wonderful!! Make sure to get deep dish butter crust. Yummmm!!! I'm salivating just thinking about it.

Always a fan of Lou Malnati's in any form and any location. But I have to say this particular location is kind of weird for a Lou Malnati's. It's a totally fine restaurant -- nice and spacious, well laid-out, well staffed. But it seems a little too corporate franchise for my taste and very unlike their older, more authentic pizza parlors in other parts of the Chicago area. Maybe it's the proximity to the golf course. Who knows? But this particular store seems to be a little overdesigned -- more like a TGI Fridays or other type chain where you have the same kitchy decorations that come out of a warehouse somewhere and are shipped to stores nationwide. At any rate, it doesn't affect the food. That is still the same -- everything from the buttery deep dish I have come to love to the chocolate chip cookie dessert that is so totally worth it. Our waitress was awesome, and not just because she gave me the biggest piece of pizza! Sure we will be back if we are in the area. Also dug the to-go frozen cooler by the door!

I have been a faithful Lou Malnati's customer for over 20 years and when we moved to Crystal Lake 8 years ago we were worried it was going to be too far away. We were so very excited to see the sign go up for a location near us! We have not been disappointed. The service, management, and food have all been 5 stars! Each time we visit, take someone in for the first time, pick up or have it delivered I have been made to feel like I am the only customer. Thank you Lou's for such a great team from phone orders to table service and everything in between. You go above and beyond! - Deedee

My boyfriend took me out to Lou's tonight... My first time! He had a side salad, we shared the dip trip app witch was delicious (I'm going to attempt to replicate the garlic dip at home) and we had a medium pan pizza with all my favorite toppings. Superb! Our server was ok, I have pretty high standards for servers though, but she certainly took good care of us. We had a reservation, but still had to wait 10 minutes or so for our table. So I would recommend having a reservation on a busy Saturday night. We also per-ordered our pizza. My boyfriend said the pans can take a long time to cook, so per ordering cut out some of the wait. Too good!

I am not a huge fan of pizza. We ate it a lot when I was a kid... I have gone years without eating it. However, Lou's (and Nick's) is/are the only pizza I like. Wait, strike that, love. My favorite is the deep dish sausage. The cheese is always perfectly cooked, the sauce is perfectly tomato-y and the crust is buttery good. The Lou's is also amazing... always cooked right. The Malnati's Salad might be the best salad around. We have never had a bad meal here and we have always had outstanding service!
(5)Christopher P.
Wow, what a great place and the service was wayyyyy great! We were a group of Snap On Rock N Rollers and we were treated like royalty here. The salad is to die for! The pizza is really good. I'm personally a thin crust guy but since this was my first time having real Chicago Deep Dish Pizza, I was impressed. I wish I could remember our waitresses name, she was a fabulous server. Great enthusiasm, wonderful attitude and really kept up with this demanding groups needs. She is from Sacramento so she's a real California girl at heart... Thank you! Lou, you have a real gem in her......
(5)Diane K.
Great location, great service, great food. We have gone a few times and can't complain. Glad that they brought this location out to the NW burbs. Definitely the best deep dish pizza anywhere. Love the malnati's salad as a starter. This location has carry out as well as frozen pizza to go.
(5)Richard K.
Once again I leave here PERFECTLY satisfied. Definitely #1 in my book still. 2 tap blue moons and a large deep dish for $30, I'll graciously spend that every time for ma when it's tourney time and she comes into town! Thanks again Uncle Lou, nothing compares.
(5)Jen A.
Great pizza. While Lou is famous for deep dish, and deep dish is the way to go here, I just don't like it. Thin crust is available and very good - I like it better than 90% of other thin crust out there. The other 5 people with me devoured multiple deep dishes and enthusiastically packed up the leftovers to take home. Family size salad to share was a great deal. We got an order of garlic bread - nothing to get excited about but the dipping sauce was tasty - the red sauce from the pizza. The barn decor is very cute and makes this location quite distinctive from the clubby feel of the older locations. The place is literally as huge as a barn and there is plenty of seating, we had a party of 6 and got seated immediately at 5 pm but it got crowded as the evening got later.
(5)Tony C.
Everyone knows the pizza is famous and unbeatable.... My review is about the service we received tonight on a delivery order. There was a confusion on our order that could easily have been our fault. We received thin crust on our order instead of deep dish. The manager Mike listen to our issue confirmed the order on his side that thin crust was ordered. Then to my surprise without missing a beat tells me our deep dish pizza is going in the oven at no charge and being deliver ASAP. Thanks Mike for your understanding, top notch resolution.

Been eating Lou Malnati's in Elk Grove and Lincolnwood for over 30 years, was happy to hear that one was opening in the area. tried them and had to give them 4 instead of 5 stars because I think the Elk Grove location's pizza tasted better. when i told that to the waited he related many people tell him that their location taste different than the others. i asked why and he said that the new pans are not seasoned yet...

Great deep dish pizza
(5)D. V.
Love this pizza !!! The best deep dish !!! First time at this location, very nice. Staff was very nice.
(5)Chelsea L.
The classic Lou's pizza, much closer to home. Clean, friendly service; you do have to wait a bit, but it's only because your pizza is made to order. I don't recommend ordering a personal pan, because the crust-to-goodies ratio is too high, and trust me, you'll want the leftovers the next day. Cold Lou's pizza makes a wonderful breakfast! Their salads are great, too, but be warned that they really are HUGE. A medium is plenty for two people and make sure to ask for the dressing on the side - they tend to drown it.
(4)Nathan L.
Horrible service tonight we will no longer be dining at your restaurants. We waited over 45 minutes for a kids meal even though we asked to have it come out as soon as possible. We were told the fryer was down even though all the food coming out was fried. We were avoided the whole night. We took our food to go and to top it off the kids meal that should have had fruit had fries. The waitress at the end was quick to try and take the check from me. The whole time also even though the place was very slow no one even came around. Thank you for making the choice to never come back an easy one. Worst part is I love your pizza but will not pay for service like that. Hope someone sees this and fixes thing there.
(1)Megan W.
Best pizza in Chicago! Deep dish with sausage patty and lou malnati's salad...serve on the same plate so the salad dressing soaks into the crust...O. M. G....not an everyday meal...but perfect for a celebration! :)
(5)Doug M.
This was my first visit to the location in Lakewood, which is nestled between Crystal Lake and Lake in the Hills. It's a nice, newer location built maybe two years ago. We had deep dish pizza, cheese and pepperoni. For starters we had some appetizers, consisting of fried cheese cubes, calamari frite, and fried zucchini. All of them were very good, but I have had better calamari elsewhere, it could have been crispier. The zucchini was served with ranch dressing and the calamari was served with marinara. The pizza was great, as one would expect from Lou's. They've got a great recipe and the consistency from one location to another shouldn't vary. The cheese was nice and thick and gooey, and the pepperoni was great and not greasy. We opted for the butter crust and it tastes really good. The service was good, we were there celebrating a birthday and they had us in small room to ourselves, which was nice for our group. We've ordered delivery from here before so we knew it was good, but eating in is always better in my opinion. We'll be back to this one for sure. They don't take reservations per se, but if you order ahead they will seat you a little faster.
(5)Marie B.
Excellent deep dish za! Love their Lou's salad too. 3 *s because my husband is very allergic to gluten and he ordered the g free za and got a regular thin crust.. making him sick later. We appreciate the availability of g-free crust but need restaurants to be absolutely sure they are g-free if they are going to advertise themselves as such.
(3)Nikki S.
Love the malnatis salad , love the cheddar cubes . Not so happy that when they messed up my order they had to charge me THREE times to fix it . Awaiting the two extra charges to be removed. Rather would have just had the right order and not saved the $10.
(3)David P.
Great individual deep dish sausage pizza. To the person who called their crust dry, there's a reason why everyone gets their pizza with butter crust...and to say you did your homework?! Their butter crust is nothing less than light, crispy and moist all at once. I admit that service is slow and that pizzas may take awhile, but remember that old adage..."the best things come to those..." I miss deep dish pizza so I routinely order their deep dish sausage pizza online and always smile when it arrives via FedEx in a box with dry ice.
(4)Alex K.
Love Lou's. This location probably isn't the greatest from (buffalo grove is the best) but the food is very consistent. I moved here a few years ago and I heard nothing but great things about Lou's and Giordano's. The only downfall is that it's impossible with little kids to eat there because the wait time is so long and so we usually get it delivered.
(3)Rich W.
As I have said in other reviews, Lou Malnatti's is the standard by which I judge other pizza places for "Chicago style" deep pan pizza. A friend of mine and I have eaten there several times, in fact 3 times out of the last 4 weeks. We volunteer at the Illinois Railway Museum, in Union, and the museum had been holding a Halloween event during, the month of October called "Terror on the Railroad that started at 7PM on Friday and Saturday nights. So, since Lou's in Lakewood is sort of on the way, we go there for supper. This past Friday, Oct 29, we were there, and ordered our usual medium Malnatti's house salad (which is always excellent), and a medium deep pan pepperoni and mushroom pizza. About the time we finished our salad, the wait person brought our pizza to the table and served it. As usual, the taste was excellent but the central part of the crust was rather of soggy - not good! We signaled for our wait person and asked her if she could take the pizza back and put it in the oven for another 5 -10 minutes, which she immediately did. While we were waiting, a gentleman, whom I surmised was the manager, came to our table to appologize for the unsatisfactory pizza and said he was making us a new one. In the mean time, the wait person brought our original pizza back and served it. It was JUST FINE! When we finished, and asked for the check, she told us our other (no charge) pizza was ready. We asked her to cut it in half and put it in two separate boxes, which she did. When we looked at the check, I saw that we had been charged for the salad and soft drinks only. WOW!!!!!! That's customer service! No charge for two pizzas. We left a 150% tip based on the check, and at this writing, I'm just about ready to pop my half-pizza into the oven for supper tonight. DarnI If I just had a bowl of that house salad it would be perfect, along with my martini. Anyway no matter the fact that the pizza is good, that was the best service I have ever had at any restaurant! Will we be back? Count on it!

Thin crust rocks - deep dish not so much.
(4)Lia L.
My favorite place for Chicago deep-dish. The appetizers are delicious too, the soda cups are huge, and the design of the building is a pretty interesting modern farm theme. My husband and I went here the night before our wedding with our parents and his sister and her boyfriend and we got to sit in the silo with the huge table and lazy susan. We also went here for Valentine's Day once and they sort of messed up our pizza by forgetting a topping and having to take extra time to fix it (they caught it, before we even knew about it), so they threw in a free chocolate chip pizza which was amazing! We haven't gotten to sit upstairs yet which I really want to do, but I'm too shy to ask, haha.

My family and I moved to Chicago from the South. I had always heard of Chicago deep dish pizza but never had it. Needless to say, we were anxious to try it and see what all the hype was about. The first place we tried was Lou Malnati's and wow, I was blown away. We ordered a deep dish, butter crust, sausage pizza. It was to die for. Every layer is pure heaven. The buttery crust is beyond perfect. Crunchy on the outside with a slighty chewy center. The cheese is plentiful and gooey as it should be. The sausage was wonderfully seasoned and it more than covered the whole pizza. Lastly, the sauce, well, it's just so wonderful. It seems to be crushed tomatoes with garlic and parmesan cheese undertones. In addition to the pizza, we've had a few different salads and appetizers, all of which were good, too. To be fair, we've tried other pizza places since we've been here. But honestly, Lou's is truly the best. I am never disappointed when we eat there, which is often. And every time we've had family come visit, we always bring them to Lou's to experience Chicago deep dish pizza for themselves. So far, they've all loved it and trust me, you will too!

I ate here recently while visiting some friends in Crystal Lake and the night before, we went to Gino's East in downtown and I gotta say that Lou's is a bit better. The two are pretty similar, but still have some major enough differences to split the them. The difference between the two was really the crust and the sauce, but otherwise were very similar. Patty sausage and cheese were pretty close, but Gino's might have the edge on the slightly more seasoned and savory sausage. The crust, though, is nowhere near what Lou's can offer; it's buttery, but not greasy and more pastry like than Gino's. Overall, Lou's beats out Gino's, but I'm an outsider visiting Chicago and know there is some serious rivalry over TRUE Chicago deep dish.
(5)Molly C.
My favorite pizza in the world... Also the red vinegarette house salad is super delicious too! Deep dish cheese and sausage, well done! I've been eating this pizza since I was a wee little child! Service isn't extraordinary so I can't give it 5 stars but the pizza is worth 5!
(4)Jennifer B.
awesome pizza, great location. Not to busy!
(5)Stephan J.
Good pizza, but not the best I've ever had. The service is a bit slow, but it may be as a result of the time to cook the pie. I guess I don't understand all the local hype on this place.
(3)Samuel E.
Thank heaven, Lou's is out here now. I spent many years trying to convince my wife that Uno's is ok, but its no Lou's. Best Pizza ever. This location is large, but not large enough at dinner time. (seriously, it's huge, but in this part of the world, there is no where else to go for authentic Chicago Pizza.) Frequent diner since they opened this one, never had bad service. Calamari is excellent. (and I ask every time before I apply the lemon.) I listed them as good for breakfast, not because they serve it, but because you can take leftovers home and warm them in a frying pan the next day. (never, under any circumstances let me catch you microwaving this pizza.)

Awesome as usual!

Well since I was in Chicago for business, I planned ahead and did my homework. Lou Malnati's was the highest rated pizza joint on here, so that was the first place I went. How was the pizza? Unbelievably disappointing!!! The crust? This dry cornmeal mess. I have never had crust like it before, and hope I never have it again. (Oh I forgot to add this before, the perfect description of the crust. It was like a store bought pie crust made of cornmeal instead of flour.) The toppings? Bland pepperoni. The sausage was killer, and that 40% of the reason this place gets 2 stars instead of one. There was good cheese too, and ample amounts of it. Sauce? What sauce? Nothing but chopped up canned tomatoes on top. The whole pizza was very dry (and sooo gross) as a result. A saving grace: the malnati salad. I loved it. Cannot say a single thing bad about it. If it were not for the salad, this place would be a definite one star.
(2)Chris H.
We love this place. Great deep dish pizza. Kids love it. Love the barn atmosphere. Order out about once a week. We get the deep dish sausage pepper and mushroom.
(5)Anthony V.
With Chicagoland having vastly diverse Pizza restaurants, we like to go to Lou's every once in a while. We visited this place as it was close and we always wanted to try Lou's. The restaurant is very nice, as there is ample seating, and the Pizza is great! I'm not a fan of deep dish, however they make great thin crust as well. They have a buttery crust which is a great change from the normal suburban Pizza's out there. The owners even visited our table while we were eating to make sure that everything was to our satisfaction. The only problem is that they are located very close to cell towers (right across the street). I'm not a big fan of cell towers, as we don't know much about the raditation they give off and the effects on humans. I prefer their carryout, as I only like my food to be radiated and not my body! I just don't understand how they could put such a nice place in such a horrible area with cell towers so close! Anyway, they do have a unique flavor that only Lou's can make. Anytime you are up for something other than the ordinary "Pizza" give Lou's a try!
(3)peter b.
Its sad to give this place 1 star but it seems that the quality of food is not like it used to be at one time the crusts would reach the top of the pan now they barely reach the middle and its just not as good as it used to be.
(1)Carrie c.
Reliably excellent food & service each and every time! When coming from Randall on Ackman Rd, the sign needs to be bigger and closer to the street you actually turn onto, otherwise you can drive right past Redtail and have to turn around down the road. Food is excellent whether you eat in the restaurant, do carry out or have it delivered. The staff is always friendly. We have had it delivered a few times and they are always there in the amount of time they quote you! The cheddar cubes are awesome!
(5)Jonathan G.
I've been here twice so far and it's been enjoyable both times. Good pizza. I'd recommend getting the meat crust pizza.
(4)Jessica D.
MY FAVORITE! Clean, fun building. Great decorations and family envorinment. I only like pizza from here!
(5)A B.
I just don't get it. This pizza is really very mediocre. Tomatoes on top - no flavor. They don't make homemade salad dressing. Kraft is better. Their thin crust pizza is disgusting. My kids wouldn't even eat it. I should have sent back. Go to Tufanos in Huntley. To DIE for!
(1)Tracy K.
It pains me to give them a 3 star rating, especially since its really a rounded up 2.5. Lou Malnati's makes my favorite pizza, and the pizza at this new location is nothing short of awesome. The antipasto salad we ordered was what we're used to too.. delicious! I thought our waiter, Fabian, did an excellent job of making sure we had everything we needed. And when the kitchen goofed and made us a medium sized pizza (we ordered a large), they threw in another medium at no cost. Although we ate inside, they do have a nice looking patio for al fresco dining. I understand that this location is new, and very popular, but I felt like waiting over an hour for a two top was kind of pushing it. I love it when restaurants take reservations or allow you to at least phone your pizza order in ahead of time, but we were denied on all counts. They also have a separate carry-out door on the east side of the building. While we were eating, something happened that I found to be totally unprofessional, and I was going to bring it up to the manager until I discovered the the offender was the owner of the restaurant. He brought us some water, and while setting it (more like slamming it!) down, he yelled at our waiter and a nearby waitress for not having water out for us. Not having the courtesy to wait until they weren't in front of customers is not acceptable. I'll be back to check them out again in a few months, after they've had a chance to work out the "new restaurant" bugs.
(3)Garruk Y.
Good deep dish. Medium can feed 3 people easily. Pepperoni, black olive, sausages, and mushroom topping only came out with $26 or so.
(4)Carlos F.
Excellent Deep dish. If you like a quality deep dish the original recipe is Lou. Giordano's is too doughy for me and Gino's is good too but a little far for me. The butter crust is the best ever. It's addictive. The Lou pizza is a must!!!
(5)H F.
Used to eat this in chicago all the time. Thought that since it took me some time to get this at work that it was just soggy because of sitting in the box for too long. Nope. Tried this here, very greasy and soggy. I love cheese, but this is overkill. Parts of the pizza didn't seem baked all the way due to the cheese. Won't be making this mistake again.
(1)Wayne L.
I have tried so many different pizza places sinces moving to Chicagoland about a year ago. This is by far the best pizza I have ever had. Now I know why Chicago is famous for pizza.
(5)Rhiannon K.
Simply the best deep dish around. Their thin crust is darn good too! This location is a bit out of the way, but I'd drive anywhere for Lou's. The pizza is great and their salads are amazing. Be sure to try the lemon garlic dressing...it is fantastic! The staff is friendly, and my order is always accurate.
(5)Liz B.
How can you not love Lou's? I have yet to go into the restaurant, but it's always packed when I pass by or pick up my to-go order from there. When I found out that they deliver to LITH, I didn't hesitate. I love their food, and they've expanded the menu to include sandwiches and such. The only downfall was my Malnatis salad. It didn't come with their signature dressing and there was chopped garlic in it. (Who puts garlic in their salad?!) Hopefully, this won't happen again.
(5)Gail C.
What more can I say? Took ya long enough to move to my hood! Beer there, is well beer there. The atmosphere there is country-ish. Same good pizza and cheezy garlic bread that we have all come to know and love. I am glad that finally a decent place to eat pizza has finally moved out into the far nw burbs, bout time!
(4)Nancy E.
I grew up in Chicago thinking that Uno's was my ideal Chicago-style pizza. I just never got an opportunity to try Lou Malnati's Pizza. There weren't any locations close to me and the restaurants that I have seen closer to the city are tiny storefronts. I am thirty-*$!@# and feel cheated that I haven't tried Lou's pizza sooner. I feel ashamed that I had to move 2 hours away to drive 45min. to go to a restaurant in Lakewood, IL... and I believe it's Lakewood's first business, too. I am SO very glad that my dining party decided to make the drive for a very early dinner. It was a Friday at 4:20. The place was relatively empty. By 5pm, there was a steady stream of patrons entering thru the door eager to get one of those vibrating beepers and wait. By 5:30 it was a 30 min. wait. We started with the Calamari. I cannot accurately comment on this since my husband doused the whole plate with the lemon wedges making them soggier than I would have preferred. I can say that they were anything but tender-- not rubbery at all. My iced tea was perfectly brewed and came in a huge cup. Didn't need a refill. We ordered a medium sausage butter-crust. It was outstanding! I am growing weak with hunger just thinking about it. The sauce was rustic and fresh. The cheese layer was thinner than I expected, but kept a perfect ratio of crust : cheese : sauce. The restaurant was comfortable. The staff was attentive. I especially appreciated the many staff paying attention and conversing to my kids... even the 1 1/2 yr old. Our waitress was either very experienced or her on the job training was superb (hate having to ask for extra napkins for the little kids). Very nice bathrooms.
(5)Dave S.
Lou's is always the first place I go when I get back home and this time we tried their new location. Since I had an entourage (8 people) meeting my wife and I at O'Hare (landed at 4:30 pm on a Friday) we phoned ahead to get a table and place our order. We ran into some traffic, phoned them back and updated our arrival time. Whoever was on the phones spoke clearly and was courteous. We arrived at our updated time and was glad to see that their "group room" was being held for us. The location is a bit "off the beaten path" so it wasn't as bustling as the other locations we've gone to but I have a feeling that will be changing soon. The waitress was very nice especially since we had a small child (1 yr old) and a handicapped individual. All the services were prompt and the food was as good as all the other locations. This was perfect for me b/c it was a bit slower however the food was still the best Chicago-style pizza I know of.
(5)Mark T.
Excellent Chicago style pizza. As good as Gino's East or Giordano's. The buttercrust is a great option. There are many locations in the Chicago area, but I didn't see this one listed, and this is where I ate. You can get take out or sit down. I have been here twice in the last 2 years, while visiting relatives, and it is really good.
(5)Greg M.
My favorite memory of Chicagoland in general, but especially Crystal Lake, aside from the fall, the first snowfall, and leaving, was Lou Malnati's. I really hadn't found a pizza that I could truly fall in love with until my then wife took me to Lou Malnati's in Buffalo Grove. I was so excited when it came to Crystal Lake, and it didn't dissappoint. It is definitely a more expensive outing, or even take out/delivery, but it's worth it, as mouth watering as it is, and I do mean it when I say mouth watering... I haven't tried ordering it online to be shipped to Austin, but I will have to do that to let the family get the best taste of Chicago!
(5)Monica S.
This used to be our favorite special occasion pizza place but lately the service is lacking and cleanliness is down as well. It took about 15 minutes to order drinks and appetizers, so we ordered our pizza in anticipation of it taking so long. The waitress was pleasant but was taking on a lot of patrons. One of the patrons left during their appetizer without paying the bill and the table sat vacant and unnoticed for 15 minutes. Management needs to get things rolling. Food was fine although the deep dish pizza wasn't very deep. More like pan pizza.
(2)Bryan M.
So.. after my initial review management reached out to me and expressed their concern in regards to my review and the experience I had. I never asked to be compensated for the mishap that took place but the manager was more than willing to resolve the issue. This tells me this was an isolated incident and/or he handled the situation with his staff. Thanks Matt! I appreciate it. So, the review was for the visit so I still dont think I should change the rating.. but if there were an option for issue resolution; management would receive 5 stars! See ya next time iam in town!
(3)Vincenzo M.
You be the judge this was yesterday deep dish pizza I ordered from Lou's in Lakewood.... Deep dish was so soggy and watery disgusting crap a small to them is a 10' pizza which a small is usually 12' .... Great service great food. The deep dish is my favorite. Kids love the thin crust. The Lou's salad is great as well. Air conditioning is the summer is awesome if you are one to open the windows in the Chicagoland winter! Kids came out of the pool so there were chilly. Till the pizza came! Kinda off the beaten path of Randall road. Come early its get crowed for dinner. In all, it Lou's. The Best. period

Deep dish? Barely half the depth of the pan (see photo). Pretty disappointed & pretty sure that was our last visit.

I know a lot of people adore Lou malnati's pizza, but maybe it's just not for me. Food- The stuffed pizza is decent but I'm not a huge fan of their sauce. It consists of chunky tomatoes, instead of a smooth red sauce that coats the layer cheesy layer beneath. Also, the cheese thin crust was atrocious. Maybe it was because it was a "kids" thin crust, or maybe it was just plain bad. The sauce tasted like vomit and I couldn't even choke down a bite. We had some mozzarella sticks that were decent but ya know anyone can make those. Service- The service was good and for our party of twelve I especially enjoyed the lazy Susan in the middle of the table.

Our fave pizza place if they could just bake their pies with consistency! Often travel to other locations to get it baked correctly. When it's done right, they are a 5 STAR all the way.

Always great pizza. Have done Carry Out many times, but dined in for the first time last week. Server Brad was very attentive and offered great customer service. Caprese Salad was fresh and delicious. Pizza was great as always.

I had the stuffed spinach bread appetizer and a thin crust pizza. The plus: Everything was hot out of the oven, the crust was crisp just the way I like it, the exterior of the restaurant was unique and the service was okay butterum this was my second time ordering pizza from Lou Malnati's and I am not that impressed, but it could've been my choice of toppings. Either way I've had better, but don't take my word for it. You may enjoy it.

Have both dined in and carried out - the pizza is so amazing! Service is great. One of our faves in the area - definitely our #1 choice for Chicago style deep dish!
(5)Ray L.
My second favorite Lou's! (the one in Skokie is my favorite) Great pizza! Great Appetizers! Great Service! Always a relaxing experience... Not sure what else to say :)

Since my wife and I are gluten-free (sensitive, not allergic) this has been our "go-to" place for g/f pizza! This is easily the BEST g/f crust we have ever had, hands-down. We come in "for the usual." Mine: Garlic, green pepper and sausage. My wife: Hot giardiniera and sausage. We both just love their flavorful, almost cracker-like crust. Most places try to make their g/f crust similar to the regular "high-gluten" flour traditional dough. Can't be done and seems to pretty much always come out flavorless. Malnati's has decided to make it as it is--crispy and nice. Now don't get me wrong we BOTH love(d) their butter crust when we ate gluten, but this dough is pretty spectacular! Happy Eating! --Chef JB

Resturant was so cold we took pizza carryout.had to go outside to warm up..ruined the night for me.

Can't wait for my pizza to come! Ordered the Classic! Had the cheese cubes for an appetizer.... AMAZING!!! Can't wait to see how my boyfriend likes it as he's nevere been here before!!!!
(5)Shannon R.
Incredible pizza and the wait staff has always been super friendly and attentive! They have a small game area for the kids which is nice. Ideal for any size of group.

I ordered delivery on 1/26 online. My pizzas came 20 minutes early, but unfortunately, I received one of the wrong pizzas. When I noticed, I immediately called the restaurant. The manager was extremely kind, and he called the delivery man to see if he could catch him before he delivered another wrong pizza. The delivery man was extremely apologetic about the mistake, and was very personable. The mistake was corrected even before the expected delivery time I received online had passed. I am very pleased with the service from both of the gentlemen I spoke with.

Although the food here is exceptional service here is lacking as a order delivery is on a repetitive basis due to the fact I'm handicapped and it's difficult for me to go to the restaurant and dine in they make mistakes constantly and up having to correct but my most aggravating comment is that every time I call the ask for my name and phone number and put me on hold while they take other orders it's not that they put me on hold it bothers me it's the amount of time I sit on hold get more operators to take your orders if you want to keep your customers I have stopped ordering from this place during slow times to make my point since when they're busy they don't think twice about leaving a customer on hold for 2 or three minutes my time is valuable to me they're getting paid to be there I'm not getting paid to be there and to sit on my ass waiting for my order to be taken tonight they didn't even call me back after I hung up on them when they kept me on hold for the 10th time in a row when I tell you Papa Sevario's food tasted awful good and was a lot less money since this restaurants prices are pretty fricking hi get ready to spend your her money and a lot of it a medium cheese pizza is $18 I guess that's what happens when you're super proud of your food and the people are too stupid to avoid the restaurant because the prices are too high and their attitude is pretty independent lately

Love their pizza. Whether it's thin crust or deep dish. Their Lou's salad is also AWESOME! Better than Portillo's chopped salad. Tried their wings for the first time not too long ago and they weren't that bad. They also deliver to LITH if interested.
(5)Borris Z.
Love the food! Pizza is awesome! Only reason for 3 stars is due to service. Not friendly and majority of staff is always chatting with eachother instead of paying more attention to clients. Everytime I visit this location its the same thing. If you hate your job quit.

Yesterday (Monday, March 23rd, 2015) I ordered in from Lou's. I didn't feel so hot, probably looked like a crazy homeless person living in a bush, but nevertheless, the lovely delivery guy was so sweet and kind. He literally came to the door-this adorable guy and said "I brought dinner." I mean...that right there really warrants this five star review. Am I right? Our short exchange totally made a crappy day 100% better. That sort of respectfulness, kindness and ability to read people is sorely lacking in today's world, so thank you, awesome delivery guy who's name I should've asked for (and I may call to find out later on so that they can pass on the appropriate props for me), for making my day that much better-and for not being like ew when you saw me, because seriously, I looked rough. Like...ROUGH. Now, let's talk about the pizza, k? The pizza here is extraordinary-and that means something coming from a Chicagoland/Chicago native. Their pizza is top notch. It truly is deep dish. Not only is their sauce just the right consistency, but they actually layer tomatoes on top of it. The vegetables on my vegetable pizza were cooked just right (it seems like they may have been sautéed in olive oil or something), the cheese wasn't so cheesy as to choke you, the crust is perfectly crisp-not well-done, not doughy, which is actually due to the several options you are given when ordering your pizza-they're serious about crust over at Lou's! The sauce wasn't overly saturated in oregano, nor was it saturated in salt. The entire pizza was made to perfection! Can't say enough about Lou's!

Lou Malnatis pizza almost never disappoints. I've been particularly impressed with this location and how their manager, "Mike" handles customer service issues . Every single time we have out of town guests who are looking for the Chicago pizza experience, we either take them to Lou's or order delivery from Lou's . Even when delivered it comes piping hot. Over the years, only two different times the pizza either came a bit differently than ordered, or wasn't up to Lou's usual amazing standard. Immediately, each time the manager was quick to offer a replacement to make it better. On a previous occasion I called ahead to arrange a surprise birthday party for my daughter --the staff was amazing at arranging the upper level for us so we could pull it off. It went so well, some friends who attended later used This location for their surprise party they were planning. Thanks Lou Malnatis / Lakewood---you would make Lou proud!!
(5)Rob L.
Stuffed crusted with the sausage patty is a must try! Sausage in every bite! What diabolical being created this???? My wife and I went with Lou's the other day. We are attemping to try all the
(5)Paige A.
I am in California and needed to arrange a party for a friend in Illinois. I had eaten at Lou Malnati's before and loved the food. It was a bit difficult at first to get in touch with their party planner but once I did it was a very easy process. The party itself turned out better than I could have hoped. The food was wonderful and the service was top notch.

Great pizzeria with a lot of choices for everyone. If you don't like Deep Dish, you can get normal thin crust pizza.
(4)Dan C.
Ordered medium thin cheese pizza for delivery. Pizza was cold and crust was hard. harder than a cracker. Quality was very poor and afraid ordering again is questionable.

I have a love hate relationship with Lou's. The family usually only eats pizza on the weekends. Lou Malnati's in Lakewood is almost always slammed on weekends. I hate crowds and waiting....so you see my dilemma. Sure we could get pizza on weekdays and avoid the crowds, but we really try to eat well during the week. Regardless I am addicted to Lou Malnati's Pizza. Specifically the "Lou" add Pepperoni! The better crust is sooo good! We used to live about 2 blocks from this location, we move..now we are about 2 miles away. When we order Lou's for some reason we still pick it up. And our favorite is the Lou deep dish pizza with pepperoni and the Lou salad. A large pizza and the salad feed 5 of us, two adults and 3 kids and sometimes there are left overs the next day. One hint if you are picking up your pizza and you are getting a deep dish, tell them not to slice the pizza. Cut it when you get home. When you do this the crust will stay nice and crisp. For a true Chicago pizza treat, I definitely recommend Lou Malnati's Pizza. I highly suggest the "Lou" specialty pizza and the "Lou" salad..makes it easy and it is delectable!
(5)Mike M.
First time in Illinois, and this is where everyone told me to go. Thank you! The butter crust was phenomenal, and the pizza was better than any of the deep dish I've experienced in California. Prices were reasonable, and we had plenty to take home and eat later. Not sure about the gluten-free pizza - someone at our table ordered it, but wasn't jumping up and down excited about it. Definitely go for the deep dish!
(5)Lisa P.
Out of all the pizza restaurants around no one can out beat Lous Pizza. Everything on their menu is out of this world. Never a disappointment!
(5)Lisa M.
The best deep dish. The sauce is great and I love the Malnati's salad. Yum. Love that the crust is always crispy. One of my "go to" pizza places
(5)Stephanie L.
So good, if you don't like deep dish pizza now, you will after eating here. I would eat here several times a week if my skinny jeans would let me. Nice atmosphere too, good for groups or for a date. I've had a birthday party and my rehearsal dinner here. Both were great, very attentive servers and consistently good food.
(5)Sherry D.
I'm not the biggest fan of Malnati's but my husband loves it and so does my mother-in-law so it's a regular "birthday" place. The reason for the 5 stars is because we have had ANDREW as our server twice now, and I can only say what great server he is. Attentive, friendly, and willing to go the extra mile. I hope the management appreciates him!
(5)Valued C.
Not a huge fan of that style pizza.
(1)Jim W.
Wait time for seating can be a bit long, but It's worth it. This is real Chicago pizza, it's hard to imagine better pizza than Lou's. I don't like to add too many ingredients, a simple cheese, or sausage pizza is hard to beat. The dinner salads are fresh, and I highly recommend the calamari. Great place to go with friends. Fun atmosphere, a little loud but still a good place to take the family.
(4)Marybeth B.
I was so happy when Lou's open near us, they never disappoint! Not only is the pizza delicious and consistently perfect, the assistants who take your order over the phone are nice and professional. Now I'm able to order online it's even better! Than you for always being The Best!
(5)Tiffany R.
Grossed out and disappointed!!! We usually do to-go orders, but I decided to dine in with my family this weekend. Service was ok... but was grossed out that most servers had the pizza holder hanging from their apron. Some actually had what looked to be duck tape wrapped around it! This makes me to think that the same dirty holder is being used over and over again. Good thing I'm not a vegetarian, I bet the people served before us ordered a pizza with meat on it! Hope you change your policy on that soon or we will not be back!!
(1)Jim T.
Just love the pizza here. Was going to dine in by myself but decided to just grab a Lou-To-Go Sausage pizza and have it at home to share with my better 1/2. It's quick and easy to just grab it out of their freezer in the carryout section. The only downside to this is oven heating time plus 45 min. cook time (well worth it). I do enjoy eating in as well as the convenience of the carry out.
(5)Michael L.
Favorite pizza of all time!!! Have been to quite a few of their locations... all are equally good! I could eat Lou's pizza daily... i am glad there isnt a location closer!
(5)Lyndsey B.
If you're looking for the best deepdish around, look no further! The ingredients are fresh, the staff is wonderful & the atmosphere is super fun. Try the LOU specialty pizza!
(5)Jim L.
Extremely slow. Waited 50% longer than I was told for the pickup order.the small pizza had a soggy crusy in the middle and the top had started to burn. Manager offered a free can of soda to compensate.
(1)Angie M.
Amazing! The best pizza I've had in Chicago! I love their thin crust and the Crustless pizza option! Always a treat when I'm visiting!
(5)Layda C.
Absolutely like no other - I've eaten lots of Lou's pizzas, and the quality for over 20 years has always been consistently excellent. My favorite is the deluxe pizza - they took it off the menu, but just ask and you will receive! Deluxe is deep dish sausage, onions, green peppers, and mushrooms. They use wine in the sauce. It's light with large pieces of crushed tomatoes. Today's visit as a party of 7. Our sever was attentive and very pleasant. She appeared a bit busy and we had to ask for water and drink refills. Poor support from the buss staff - instead of waiting to set the next table, they could have removed dirty plates and filled water. I'll leave it to management to think about how to improve teamwork. Meanwhile it was an awesome dinner and we took home left overs to freeze and enjoy another day.
(4)Linda S.
I would say if you want a vegetarian thin crust pizza without cheese, you are at the wrong location. Lou's is known for deep dish with CHEESE. Please. For the love of God, don't mess with perfection.
(5)John M.
I can't go one week without a slice! Thank you Lou, thank you for coming to Lakewood. Please don't ever leave. Will you marry me?
(5)Michael V.
Best deep dish pizza in town. Try the Malnati's salad too. Mozzarella sticks make a good appetizer and the drinks are huge. We are always here with family.
