what a fish taco!! i mean it! me and my fam LOVE this place. whenever we want to surprise my dad we pick up some fish tacos for him for dinner (as their cafe is only open for lunch). ive also had the bisque and the crab cakes and goodness are they amazing! esp that monster crab cake. only bummer is the cafe is only open till 2. this is one of the only affordable AND healthy AND delicious places to eat in lake zurich and their limited hours are a real kicker!

Check your receipt. They have a chalkboard with prices, but I've been overcharged for items on three separate occasions (by $1/lb for scallops, $2/lb for king crab, and $1/lb for sea bass). It looks like the folks type in the prices by hand on the register, so either they're not paying attention or they do this often. After the third over-charge, I no longer shop there. Prices were too high in the first place without being overcharged on top of things. Too, for a mom-and-pop store, "pop" is not particularly friendly. Attitude and demeanor is a big part of a small business, and this place just doesn't have it.

Place small with dry fish on display and no price tags. Lunch is very expensive and not good quality. I do not understand the good reviews, the place is average at best. Did I go to different place???

Great seafood, always fresh! After living on the East Coast, we were always afraid to buy fish in the Midwest.....not anymore. We love this place, the fish tacos are our favorite when we dine in for lunch. The lobster bisque is amazing! We always get their wild salmon. You definitely have to try the sockeye when it is in season.

The best and freshest seafood in all the Chicago area. The fish smells sweet, like I just caught and cleaned it myself... 5 minutes ago. The prices are a bit steep, but you get what you pay for: awesome fish!

One of my Christmas Eve dinner guests brought the Smoked Salmon appetizer platter and it was by far the BEST I've ever had, what a treat! It was so elegant too with all the fixings (eggs, capers, onions and an herbed cream cheese). I'm very excited to have learned of this place because I'm a seafood lover and cannot wait to try them again. It's a bit of a drive for me but I would definately make the trip!

Great fresh seafood. I picked up some sea scallops. Fresh, sweet smelling and firm with pinkish hue. Were incredible for New Years Eve dinner pan searing them. Also picked up some smoked salmon and artichoke spread. it was heavenly. I saw them wheel out a crab claw tray for a pick up and it looked amazing. Definitely going back. Friendly service and helpful. Tilapia and other fish in case looked great. Also had frozen appetizers that looked interesting. Might be a little more than the Dominick's or Jewel but fresh and flavorful.

Came in after reading reviews here. Service is friendly and fast. Had scallops Caprese salad, hubby had fish and chips. He said it was the best he'd ever had. My salad was delicious, and it was surprising how large it was. Big lunch portion! Purchased fresh seafood to cook at home, definitely will be back

The fresh fish is spectacular! I come here to buy my fish for sushi and sashimi. The salmon is so buttery and light and the scallops are great too. Not watery like most fish markets. The owner gets fish deliveries everyday and he is very particular about quality. You can also eat there as they have a menu of food they serve for lunch. Dinner hour is BYOB with no charge for corkage. Casual setting. I stopped by to get some fish and grab a bite to eat in sweats with no makeup. It's deceiving this place because the sign above the store just says Seafood. I just moved to the area and kept driving by asking myself if it was a restaurant or a fish market. It's a little of both. For me I'm thrilled as one of the things I was looking for was a fish market and this one is a great one!

Terrific fresh seafood cafe and market. Beautifully prepared meals and it's BYOB, with no corkage fee! YELP's rating of $$$$ is incorrect. Should be $$$ for for market and $$ for meals.

We just purchased two pounds of shrimp from Diamond for an appetizer for a dinner party at our house for friends. We cannot say enough about excellent they were. We will NEVER buy shrimp anywhere else! Everyone raved about them!

Best fish place in Chicagoland area hands down. Wonderful, wonderful people that really know how to cook fantastic fish. Family owned. Great atmosphere. Did have byob but some other fish place got jealous of their success and told on them for not having a proper license for byob, which they're now working on. Very friendly, great service, and FANTASTIC food!! Changing menu and changing fish keeps me wanting to come back everyday!!

I live 1/2 mile from Diamond, and I love seafood. Problem with Diamond is high prices and low quality. There fish sits way too long to be fresh. I went twice when they first opened, then quit going.

The Best Seafood in the Chicago area. Both Carol and Patrick so helpful in giving mouthwatering recipes for your fish and when you do not want to cook, their already prepared foods are fantastic! Eat seafood more because of them. Highly recommend.

Just found this place this week after passing it for the past 6 months...WHAT A FIND! Their soup is phenomenal (had the bisque and the chowder), and took home the "fish taco bag" tonight to prepare at home - delicious! Their mango salsa is some of the best I've had, fish was fresh and veggies were crisp and plentiful for 3 tacos each. I will return to this place over and over...the menu is packed with different seafood entrees and meals, the fresh fish for sale looked fantastic and the place SMELLED so fresh, I knew the fish would have to taste good. We will be taking home some of their huge shrimp for the holidays, and maybe one of those great looking lobsters. You have to try this place, but hours are limited, especially if you want to eat there, so check their hours...so worth the trip!!

Went there with my 7 year old last week for diner. The sea bass was incredibly fresh and my son loved the shrimp. We will definitely be going back. Best season in the area

Great place for lunch. I had a soup and my boyfriend had a shrimp taco. They were both phenomenal. Very possible I may come back with him when I'm down on break from school.
