We just ordered take out tonight from them and I'm so glad we did! We left the city over 7 years ago, and I've been on the hunt for a good take-out Italian place ever since. The search is over! It tastes real and authentic and like someone actually cared about the end result. My husband and I each ordered a pasta dish and the arancini. Big portions, well seasoned, soup or salad all included. Even the toasted side bread was good. We'll definitely be back. Way better than any of those chain Italian restaurants.

We were excited to try the pizza here. Unfortunately for us it was not what we expected from all the positive reviews. It's not like the meal was horrible but it wasn't fantastic or even close. The "thin crust" was more of pan crust to me. The crust was 3/8" thick and chewy. The sauce had a nice spicy flavor but there was not nearly enough sauce or cheese and toppings for that matter. When you have a crust that thick you would hope they would have the correct cheese, toppings, and sauce proportions. This will be a one and done place for us.

I really want to like this place. The rave reviews had me hopeful. Too hopeful? We are recent transplants from northern Cook County, and of course being good neighbors we always want to try the local places first. We've had Galati's 3 times, and every time has been delivery. Maybe the food will be better when we actually dine in - Galati's will get another chance based on their RIDICULOUSLY AMAZING MEATBALL. That being said, their thin crust pizza is average: nothing special, nothing terrible (dare I say, bland?) but it's one of those kind of meals where I regretted the calories consumed because I felt unfulfilled, dissatisfied. Same can be said for their fries, buffalo chicken sandwich, and shrimp. Pretty good chicken fingers, though. Maybe we got spoiled having places like Nino's or Giordano's right at our fingertips. But hopefully the 4th time is the charm - maybe we'll go in for the wood-fired pizza.

Went in for the third anniversary this past Tuesday. The inside has been repainted and is even warmer and cozier than before. The pizza was great, our server Amy was friendly and took care of us.

I just tried Galati's for the first time. I had them deliver a 30" footballl pizza with pepperoni and garlic bread. First, the delivery guy was very friendly, in spite of the fact that it was 5 degrees outside. That would have been a perfect opportunity for a crummy attitude, but his was great! This pizza was a really good example of what a thin crust Chicago style pizza should be. I was impressed with the flavor. Plus, the coupon I used made this an excellent deal. I was able to feed 5 kids (ages 5-14) for around $25 with the delivery charge. i am happy I gave Galati's a shot. I will order from them again.

Best pizza I've ever had around the area or anywhere for that matter. Service is good, prices are great and the pizza is the best. All made from scratch. Absolutely can't be beat. Get the stuffed.

Just left this place. Yummy yummy yummy. We didn't have the pizza but had the chicken parmigiano and Alfredo with chicken and both dishes were delicious. Will definitely be trying the wood fired pizza on Tuesday nights. Can't wait to be back.

Tried for the first time and immediately loved it. Had a jumbo pizza and rice balls and I'm already fantasizing about going back. Friendly place and I felt prices were very reasonable

This small town pizzeria sure knows how to make the charts, well, my charts! Everything about this place is awesome! You can either dine in, carry out or they deliver right to you. I went to pick up my pizza there yesterday and its so cute inside. It reminds me of Italy and it really is a nice place for families to go and eat. The pizza is fantastic! I am a regular at this place now and I couldn't be happier! The crust is amazing, the toppings taste more fresh than ever and the employees there are the nicest people in Lake County! I've been going to Papa John's and Little Caesar's and Italian Ovens for forever now, but now, I go to Gelati's. They won me over, and I'm sure they'll do the same for you! Try them out because I HIGHLY recommend you to this delicious, comforting pizzeria. The pizza, the fries and mozzarella sticks, the service, the drinks, everything is perfect. I literally mean that. Try Gelati's, just once. They are cheap as can be and I guarantee you, you won't be disappointed. 10/5 stars on this one!

The best pizza we have had in a long time..... The meatballs and aranchini is delicious too! PLUS You can play Bocce Ball in the back while you eat on the patio surrounded by the garden! All right next to beautiful Lehmann Park and Cedar Lake. This place is a hidden gem right downtown Lake Villa.

It's such a relief to have a great pizza place so close by. We've had dinners delivered and eaten in the small dining room. I recommend both, if you are lucky enough to be near by. The pizzas are thin and crispy - and unusual. I'm a big fan of the taco pizza and the bacon cheeseburger pizza, too. They also make a great calzone. I was excited to try aranchini for the first time - fried rice balls with meat and cheese. Great burgers and pasta,but the real treasure is the meatballs. I don't know that I've ever had a better meatball anywhere.
