Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Thought we would try this place heard a lot of good things had some different type of tacos kinda like food network stuff. I had the chicken jerk taco and a Asian steak taco. My husband Asian tilapia tacos. The chicken jerk was pretty good could be a Bit more spicy for me. The Asian steak had good flavor but the steak was super tough. My husband said the tilapia was good and flavor was good. In a town like joliet with all the Mexican u,have to really stand out. I think the concept is awesome but the food needs work.

Excellent food. Ok service. Back to food, tried the special jerk chicken on rice, lettuce and other stuff and was great. Then had fish taco: yum yum

I went to Blue Taco for lunch with two friends. My tacos were amazing. I had the Jerk Chicken and the Egg and Chorizo taco. The flavor and the food was excellent. Everyone gave great service. They were very welcoming and gracious . I found this is a Mexican restaurant with a twist. Besides the tacos, the menu has a variety of different choices. My friend had the barbecue chicken salad which looked great. Another friends brought food home because she wanted her kids to try the tacos. I will be back and will recommend Blue Taco to anyone.

Bonus points for being willing to make me a vegan burrito (even though it's not on the menu), and knowing exactly what vegan means. The guy working here mentioned that the rice isn't even vegetarian (it's made with chicken broth), so keep that in mind if you're not into meat. My burrito was yummy (filled with potatoes, beans, tomatoes and all sorts of deliciousness) and GIGANTIC (I couldn't actually eat the whole thing). Prices were fantastic as well. Highly recommended.

An undiscovered Jewel in Joliet. Long waits at other restaurants on a Saturday night. But we got in right away at the blue taco. The tacos were superb and very reasonably priced. The Cuban taco was very special. Check it out.

I went here on multiple occasions. I tried a burrito and quesadilla. The burrito was great, but by far my favorite quesadilla I have ever had out at a restaurant!!! The workers seemed very friendly, they all smiled and were very nice to my kids when we ordered. My children loved the tacos and chicken/cheese quesadilla. I will definitely be going back there for their food!

Best quesadillas in Joliet ! This place blows the taco truck out of the water ! Margaritas & sangrias are a great price for the size of the drink.

If you want your typical Mexican taco, go to a taco truck or any corner spot in town. However The blue taco offered a great menu of some tacos I had always wanted to try. I had the west coast fish taco...very good...fresh ingredients and fish was grilled perfect. Caribbean jerk taco was my favorite. ..spicy and flavorful and the combination of sweet and spicy was great. Restaurant was very clean and the decor was awesome. The downtown area needs more places like this to create excitement in that area. Will be coming back to try the Chipotle Shrimp tacos and all the other selections. Little pricy but I think worth it.

Pretty good place. I think you need to try the specialty tacos to get the best this place has to offer. I ordered the carribean jerk chicken taco, asian steak taco and the pork belly taco. Jerk chicken was my favorite. Perfect amount of spice and a great yogurt sauce that goes with it. Asian steak taco came with a slaw that was very good. These two were great. Pork belly taco was just ok. It came with a pineapple relish that didn't do much for me. The mild salsa that comes wi th the tacos was good and more spicey than most. It took 20+ minutes to wait for the tacos to carryout, but it means they're busy, which is good. Cash only too. Id recommend and hope they stay in business.

Very rude. I went there for carry out lunch today and ordered two steak tacos. After about 20 minutes, I didn't have my order. Three other customers waiting for their orders noticed I had been there a long time. One went to the counter to say that a lot of people were waiting for their orders and that such a long wait is not acceptable at lunchtime. Someone behind the counter said to the customer that if he didn't like it, he could leave. So, at least 3 of us left without our food.

Now this is not your typical americanized taco joint - much better. The jerked pork is awesome but better ask to tone it down if you cant handle the heat (not that bad). Quesadilla's tasty and loving the fish tacos. Affordable, tasty - this is my new lunch spot AND tomato bisque soup awesome as well.

Tried the Asian, Cuban, West Coast fish and Pork belly with pineapple Tacos. All were pretty good I will definitely come back and try some of the others.

I had two tacos for lunch. The West Coast Fish Taco and the Jerk Chicken. While I appreciated the freshness of the fish taco, neither had very much flavor; and the jerk taco was extremely greasy. There was oil all over the place when I was finished. It wasn't horrible, but there are much better places for tacos in the Joliet area that are around the same price point.

The tacos were excellent. I had the Cuban pork, jerk chicken and tilapia. They were all great. I will go whenever I am in Joliet. You should try it. It is not your average taco place. The quality and variety make this worth the stop...
