I really wanted to like this place......I was too excited about coming here. Most places like these are in Chicago, and I didn't wanna go that far today. The boy and I had eaten at the Vietnamese place next door a couple of weeks ago, and saw Aisha's. We swore we would return.....well today was that day! The order taker had the personality of a dial tone. Maybe she was having a long day. She just stared at us while taking the order while she annoyingly sucked on this huge piece of candy which distracted the heck outta me! Looking at the menu the prices seemed a little high for what you get- I ordered the fried chicken dinner with Mac -N- cheese & fried okra with peach cobbler. That was 13 bucks. My boyfriend got smothered pork chops, greens, & mashed potatoes. I'm telling you what he got because you know I ate some of his food come on lol! Let's get down to business- the chicken. It was bland as all get out. I was disappointed. Really disappointed. My BBQ sauce helped jazz it up a bit. My okra was good, but didn't Taste any better than anybody else's okra. The Mac -n- cheese made my heart drop when I saw it because it looked like Kraft. I was expecting different, like maybe baked, but hey it was okay. It wasn't nasty, but I'm not EVER gonna say hey let's go to Aisha's to get some Mac -n- cheese! My boyfriends food- his mashed potatoes I liked, but he didn't. His greens were salty as shit!! I don't know if smoky was the taste they were going for, but burnt is how it came across. His pork chops were good. I opened my peach cobbler... Major letdown. I've never EVER seen peach cobbler as dark as this. Even the fruit???It was dark brown. Who taught y'all how to make peach cobbler?? Ray Charles?? They also didn't give us our corn muffins!!!???? For how much we spent on that I want EVERYTHING I paid for. I called back and spoke with the lady who took my order (Mrs. Dial-tone) who answers the phone Aisha's sorry were not taking orders! I inquired if they were out if muffins because the menu says I was supposed to get them with my meal and she says she doesn't know? #GetItTogether Aisha's you really made my heart hurt. I guess I will still have to go to the city for GOOD soul food.

Well, stopped in here today hoping for some good ole fashioned southern cooking. Hmmm. I'll start with the highlights. Place was very clean. When you walk in it looks like a very promising restaurant. I had the smothered pork chops with greens and mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes were pretty good. The pork chops were delicious. The greens tasted burnt. I don't know if they were going for a smoky flavor but that wasn't happening. It tasted burned. I didn't get the corn bread that was supposed to come with the meal. The young lady taking our order wasn't very personable. You can see a couple people in the kitchen were cooking and eating at the same time. This is a total turn off for me. The young lady taking our order was even eating something. I tried some of the fried chicken. It wasn't all that. Very bland. I would give them another shot but not anytime soon.

Welp. I went to this place on the advice of a buddy. Friendly staff. Good food. Clean place. Nice and quiet. I had the catfish, greens and beans. I'm a fan! For sure going back.

I didn't have high expectations for Aisha's just because I've been burned (disappointed) so many times when looking for good soul good. However, Aisha's did not disappoint and I would happily return. The restaurant is clean, well lit, and has a couple of televisions. Service was great, the young lady that took my order was very patient because I had lots of questions and she answered each with a smile on her face. She did assure me that everything on the menu is made fresh, so no store brought desserts or canned greens!!! My food came out hot, fast, and SUPER good. I had a couple of chicken wings, a fried catfish filet, yams, and greens. The food wasn't seasoned the way I season my food at home, BUT this is a restaurant serving a variety of tastes. Also, I didn't have to add salt & pepper to anything so it was all good! The sides tasted great as well. The greens didn't taste like they came from a can and the yams tasted great. Again, the server kept my water full and checked on me a couple of times, so I was a happy camper!

I have nothing good to say about this Establishment. Dried pork chops. Clumpy flavorless gravy. Hard refried chicken. Canned green beans. Warm soda cans. Dirty rugs. Dirty tables. Empty crusty ketchup bottles. Very loud television. This place is a joke.

Amazing chicken and dumplings, a must-have on Sunday's. This is a staple for Joliet and they do it right! Wish they were open more often, but it's worth the wait for when they are! Definitely try the greens!!

Everything we ate was delicious! I had the catfish with mac & cheese, and the greens. My mom had the fried chicken and really liked it too. They we're very accommodating when my mom only wanted certain chicken pieces. The portions were large enough to share for lunch too. I would recommend checking it out if your in the mood for catfish or fried chicken.

A really nice eatery in a strip mall on Black & Infrantry. I like their concept of cooking only a few items each day as it ensures that the food is fresh each time you order. I really liked my catfish dinner as for $11.99, I got 2 big pieces along with 2 sides and a cornbread muffin. The lady working there was very nice and personable. Here's their menu: Thursday: Smothered pork chops Fried chicken Fried catfish Friday: Meatloaf Fried chicken Fried catfish Saturday: Smothered chicken breast Fried chicken Smothered pork chops Fried catfish Sunday: Turkey Chicken (baked or fried) Pot roast Chicken & dumplings Fried catfish

Who would have guessed that the best tasting southern cooking was right around the corner. We had the best fried chicken and chicken and dumplings that we have ever had. The Mac n cheese. Greens n mashed potatoes were all made from scratch and simply delicious. The wait was about 15 min but well worth it. We were greeted kindly and served with smiles the owner made it a point to introduce herself. Too full for dessert but brought some home. Can't wait to try it.

Fantastic Fried Chicken and super nice people. Fried Chicken is made to order and has perfect blend of spices and cooked just right. Had spaghetti as side which was good flavor. Had mashed potatoes and gravy which was flavorful and done right. Nice clean atmosphere. Probably the best fried chicken in the Joliet,IL area.

Aisha's serves down-home Southern cooking that is fresh, flavorful and authentic. The smothered pork chop and fried chicken are excellent, as are the greens, catfish and banana pudding. Everything is home made and you can really taste the difference. Their menu has rotating daily specials with a limited menu, which is actually a very good thing - what you get is very fresh and made that day. The restaurant is primarily carry out, with a few counters and stools if you wanted to eat there. They are only open Thursday thru Sunday. Notwithstanding, it is tastefully decorated and very clean. Simply put, Aisha's serves great Southern food and I highly recommend it.

I have been to Aisha's multiple times. I don't live in Joliet but I try to get my family who lives in Joliet to get carry outs from there. I am always amazed at the taste and the quality of food. Everything is home made and delicious. I am a catfish fan but love the fried chicken along with the green beans. The staff is friendly and welcoming. This is a hidden gem on Black Road.

I've been looking for a great southern restaurant in the southwest suburbs for a while. I couldn't seem to find any until I found this place. The food is amazing. I will go again.
