High Cholesterol at Whataburger
Calorie intake is the main concern for people with high cholesterol while dining at a fast-food restaurant like Whataburger. Well, you can always try the Lighter & Smaller options from the menu to cut down your fat intake. Opting for grilled sandwich or burgers are preferred compared to double meat or triple meat cheesy burgers which contain high cholesterol.

Cut down on your meat intake to control your high cholesterol. You must skip Double Meat Whataburger and Triple Meat Whataburger at all costs. I loved the lobster bake sandwich, yep it's $12 but I'd gladly purchase it again! My only suggestion is in regards to service: I handed the young man at the counter my debit card to pay, and he did not hand it back or even gently lay it on the counter. He threw the card on the counter. I'll admit this may be a personal quirk, but in my eyes it's rude. Will I return to Burhop's? More than likely...eh, who knows, but more than likely, yes.

Overpriced. I stopped in here one day while in hinsdale about a month ago... I first went to the wrong building thinking this was at York and ogden... No one said a word to me as I walked in... As another reviewer pointed out absolutely 0 customer service. The place is ok looking being small and inside a strip mall. The two men working obviously has something better to do than address me. The prices were astoundingly high. I ushered myself out the door as quick as I came in. Nothing more than a standard market at best. Maybe they had additional crab meat... More or less the same selection but with an additional 4$ more per pound for everything. For being supposedly fresh, there were a lot of freezers taking up space.

Although pricey , This place has the best quality BY FAR of any local grocery store. You get what you pay for....From the freshest of fish, to the spices and sauces.. I actually bring some of the spices they sell, to my holiday home over seas to WOW my dinner guests. Ireland has some of the nicest ,freshest ,seafood selections, but the spice selection is limited...Thanks to Burhops..I am the gourmet of the area.. I NEVER had a bad piece of fish from the Hinsdale location, and staff is always helpful about "what is the mildest or not too fishy tasting"... Thank you for your help.. Bill F.

I love coming here. My son loves coming here. My husband loves it when I shop here. This place is great. First of all, they are ridiculously friendly. Today, one of the guys (owner?) gave my six year old son a 15 minute lesson on lobsters - including letting him touch the live lobsters. And they always have either little goldfish crackers for the kids or seashells. They have the best store bought cocktail sauce I have ever had. They have a stack of about 2 dozen recipe cards if you are stuck trying to decide what to cook and their selection of pre-made salads are good. I particularly like the grilled calamari salad. Prices are reasonable considering the quality. They have a really good clam chowder in the freezer section and they have a paella seafood mix in the frozen section as well that I have used with great success. There is plenty of parking and it is conveniently located next to a Walgreens and a full service Grocery store. Love it!

I love Burhops and have for years. However, I recently bought their Manhattan Clam Chowder. Where did you hide the clams? nI was so disappointed. Being from New England, I know not Manhattan. I know this chowder and this was way below standards. The herring is the best, bar none, as are the lobster tails, but this was NOT tasty or close to parr. Sorry, but had to share this info.

This is probably more of a 3.5 star review. The fish here is extremely fresh and worth the price. I'm picky about my seafood, so I don't mind paying for quality, and I've yet to find a comparable store anywhere in the area. The homemade cocktail sauce is the absolute best cocktail sauce I have ever tasted. It's obviously homemade, and spicy. Love it. The reason not 4 or 5 stars? Selling food at this price point should also come with exceptional customer service. I've never had that here. As an example, one time I asked if they had fresh squid. The old dude behind the counter snapped back "...in the freezer section." Ok, but that's not fresh. The real answer would be "NO", and I especially didn't appreciate the snotty retort because the guy just packaged up $80 worth of shrimp that I was buying. Yeah, I'm spending some good money here so please don't be irritated with my simple question. I will definitely be back, and I hope that in the future I encounter the wonderful customer service that other posters have experienced.

Had good clam chowder. Employees service good, however weak for the area.

I think I made my last trip here yesterday. I LOVE seafood, and Burhops-Hinsdale does have great quality seafood. With that being said: when you have customers spending this kind of money on seafood, your customer service needs to be top notch. This is where they are deeply flawed. I never feel "welcomed" in the store. Due to my line of work, I have the pleasure to make my rounds to all of the top markets in the Chicagoland area (I keep a freezer bag in the car, lol), and this location BY FAR is always my worst customer service experience. About a month ago,I once had a very hard time getting them to honor a sale price THEY sent out via e-mail! They had a special on rainbow trout for $11.95/lb, and I just got an awesome recipe for fish tacos I wanted to try. So I called in and asked for 2 lbs of rainbow trout. Now mind you, I passed my favorite market in chicago (Dirks Fish), to go to Burhops on the way home to Naperville for the sale price of the trout alone. I get there, I also got Halibut ($30/lb), wild king salmon ($35/lb if I can remember), smoked salmon spread (like $10 I think), and a key lime pie ($12.95). WHY WOULD YOU HASSLE ME ABOUT A SALE PRICE YOU ADVERTISED ON 2 lbs OF RAINBOW TROUT!? He didn't even believe me about the price, lol. I had to dig through the e-mail to show him. After I showed him the e-mail before he would respond, he grumbled, only marked it down to $12.95/lb (not the $11.95 price as advertised), and said he's going to call them in Glenview to change the sale. I was fuming about the fact he didn't give me the proper sale price all the way home down Ogden. So I get home, open my fish, and they gave me the higher priced "ruby red" trout that was on sale for $12.95/lb (not what I asked for). So basically I asked for rainbow trout, you gave me the higher priced ruby red trout, and was miffed that the price was reduced after your efforts to deliberately give me the higher priced fish when the regular & I'm sure most typical trout was available is what I gathered. I told him I only came there for the sale, and he sarcastically chuckled and said "you have over $100 of fish, and you ONLY came here for $11.95/lb rainbow trout....okay." Why yes I did. I had several other choices to make over Burhops to get my fish, and chose you because of the sale item. Isn't that the reason for sales: to get you in the door and spend more money (take notes from Walmart please)????? Then yesterday I get there to use a groupon I got, and get haggled about the cut of copper river salmon I wanted. My groupon basically got negated ($20 for $30 of seafood, but the fish I purchased was $7/lb pricier than all the other competitors, so I saved $3). But paying this kind of money, I would think I can get the cut I request without the tail portion. After the other guy sees I'm obviously irritated, he says "we'll work with you".....like he's doing me a favor, lol. Again, I shop at almost every seafood market in the Chicagoland area (burhops in Glenview gets it better than here), and have never had an issue like this about my cut of fish I'm paying $20-$40/lb for! Being a pseudo pescetarian, staying completely away from here will be hard to do when I receive an e-mail blast with a deal; I cannot refuse an awesome deal. I try to patronize all the local seafood markets doing it right (ask your old employee Dirk), but coming back here will be very hard for me unless you are flying in fresh Alaskan king crab, or got in some wild ivory king salmon.

The seafood was delicious, but at almost $30.00 per pound it should be. Both men who facilitated my order were tight lipped and had no charm. Getting information out of them was like pulling teeth. I just wanted to know where my fish came from! Which, by the way these fish are NOT a green choice! Most of the fish are from Canada, Alaska, Florida, or Chili! When I mentioned that I didn't see the lobster rolls, the older gentleman snapped "they're a sandwich and we make them when they're ordered". Ok dude, I know what lobster rolls are..... This place has a good reputation but I won't be back.
(3)Jenn C.
Great seafood choices, however very pricey. They offer pre made meals or salads as well.

Finally stopped in to try the Lobster Roll, and so glad I did! Sandwich was fantastic, close to the original I've had back East. I thought it was very reasonable @ $12.95, and they even have a 2/$20 special on Tuesdays. Cute store otherwise, with a large variety of seafood and sides. Will definately be back when I'm in the area and craving some lobster :)

Sometimes the tried and true places are really the best. Case in point is Burhop's Seafood. In business since 1926- Burhops has the selection, service and convenience that is second to none. Their fish comes in fresh daily which means while you may not know what fish they have that day- you can be assured of it's freshness and quality. They hand filet the fish at the store (most of it) and I love that their staff is quick to suggest an alternative if what I am looking for that day is not available. They also have specific recipes for dishes and sell the rubs and seasonings that will have you and your guests raving over "what's for dinner". And if you are really pressed for time- they also sell a selection of "sides" like wild rice, herbed polenta or garlic mashed potatoes that taste homemade. You can impress people with your "Trout stuffed with portabella mushrooms and tomato" and none will be the wiser as they also sell several stuffings that work great with their fish. You can also get appetizers (like crab cakes or bruschetta) soups (my favorite is the lobster bisque but the split pea is also right up there!) or even party trays for that next large gathering you are planning. End your meal with a Burhop's key lime pie and you will think you dined out at one of the finer fish restaurants in Chicago! Prices are reasonable for the quality and service and trust me- I was a fish cooking novice before I started shopping at Burhops and now I am actually confident enough of my fish preparation skills to serve it to others. While it may be quicker to go to a grocery store for one stop shopping- for taste and quality in your seafood- it's worth the extra trip to Burhop's.

Being a New England girl at heart, I am always on the lookout for fresh seafood. Located at Grant Square in Hinsdale, Burhop's is a little gem of a seafood shop in the 'burbs. Burhop's started in 1926 in downtown Chicago, and today they have two shops; one in Glenview and this one. What I like about the shop is its simplicity. You walk in and their are a few shelves with some nice products for cooking seafood. There are soup tureens and then the fresh fish and seafood. I don't know how they do it, but Burhop's has the best shrimp cocktail in the area. I've tried poaching, boiling and steaming raw shrimp, but I always end up back at Burhop's - why mess with perfection? These guys get it right every time. They have lobster tails, wonderful smoked fish dips, and their prices are great. What a treat to have this great shop in Hinsdale!
