Was back in there after a long absence, and it still works, though I may have been overly impressed with my first review because I was expecting so little.

A nice quick taco stand. I had the quesedellas and they were fantastic. The owner was really friendly and they had a good extensive Mexican menu. They use fresh ingredients and is a good place if you happen to be in the area for a good lunch.

This is a second review. Okay, so one year later...same thing. I couldn't remember what I ordered a year ago so I ordered enchiladas rojas this time. Eek! Methinks not! First, I did not like how the red sauce was made, they did not use chihuahua cheese (they used parmesan!?!?), and lastly, they topped it with cheddar cheese! Not Cotija! WTH! Is this place Mexican? I pretty much just ate the rice and beans which were mediocre. The service is very good though, they are very friendly but I'm sorry I don't see myself going back. I rarely give second chances. Also, compared to another Mexican restaurant in the area, it was slightly more expensive and I'm not going to pay extra when I can go to the other restaurant that has better food and lower prices. TIP: Be Authentic!

Wanted to like it because it's close by but steak was a bit gnarly and place was empty. Quesadilla wasn't bad though. Hoping they get more business to survive but could be better.

This place is really good! I was starving and needed to eat. Had two steak tacos and one al pastor Mexican style. Tacos were so good I ate one there and had to leave to enjoy the other two in the privacy of my home. The meats were cooked to perfection and the toppings were super fresh! This is the best taco stand I have found in the burbs that compares to my favorite taco place in the city, Tecalitan (Chicago ave and Wolcott). The chips seemed fresh and all three salsas were good, but not great. Tecalitan still has the best salsa. I wish this place had later hours. Finally a good Mexican restaurant in the western suburbs! Thought I was never going to find one.

Great customer service!!! They make the real Horchata out of rice and it is the best in town!

This place was a staple for several of my co-workers when we were stationed in Hillside. It is situated on a corner shop, with parking down on the side streets and a few spaces in front of the restaurant. Once inside, the decor is mostly cheesy Mexican affair, but my co-workers kept coming here for the food, so I figured I'd give them a shot. Based on the gaudy way they have things decorated, take your first date here only if she has a good sense of humor. This is not an upscale taqueria. Anyways, on to the food. I ordered two burritos, one steak, one chicken. Both were ready within about five minutes and I sat down to dive in. I'll give them credit, both of the burritos were made with a large flour tortilla, so for the price of $4 a piece, they weren't bad. My beef, (ha ha, that was a pun, get it?), came with the grizzle that was in both menu entries. It seems whomever the cook was didn't think it was necessary to cut off the excess fat on the meat. Not cool. You don't expect to be served top-of-the-line health food in a place like this, but a bit of basic food prep would have avoided this problem.

I've passed this place a thousand times and always wondered how it was. I saw this review above and thought hmmm I'll give it a shot. Yeah, so not worth the stop. I've had better...much, much better!! If you like greasy taco's then by all means head on in. But it was rather gross and ended up eating it without the tortilla. I ordered a steak taco and a ground beef taco. They used regular shredded cheese!!! What??? What kind of Mexican restaurant uses cheddar cheese???? Even I buy the Chihuahua cheese when I make taco's and I'm as white as they come! That was a first for me in my 34 years of living. I'm still shocked, sour cream that I paid extra for was barely noticeable. There were two things that I did like about this place the ground beef was decent, nice flavor. and the lady at the counter was very nice. Which is why I gave them 2 stars. I will never go back there, but at least I can say I tried it.

Service great. Food great (huge burrito, authentic tacos, super fresh guac). Ready in minutes. We wish we had found these folks a long time ago. Not a single complaint and for 25 bucks we got at least two meals (each, wife and me) of quality, tasty food. Highly recommend.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
