Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

THE ORIGINAL Il Forno has great sausage thin crust pizza. My only qualm is that the last time they got my order wrong they didn't make much of an effort to correct it.

Got thin crust pizza and spaghetti. Both was alright. Not the best I had or worst. The pineapples were very good compared to other places on top of the pizza. My wife thought the spaghetti was okay.

Great experience, great pizza! I feel like I am family every time I walk through the door and this place is as vintage Chicago-style as it gets. Go for the thick crust!!!

I live down the street. Place is just mediocre. My backup if moccios is closed. Slow delivery and over priced as well.

Pretty decent food here the owners a nice guy I've always like their sausage and onion salads are good sandwiches are big hard to go wrong here

Great local Chicago style pizza. Been having this pizza for over thirty years and always an amazing thin crust. I am tired of seeing people like Jennifer H. destroy local businesses that have been part of a community forever because her standards are obnoxious. Move away if you don't like every local establishment I say! Oh wait. When your the Duchess of the local McDonalds I guess your opinion doesn't matter since your killing your kids with that crap. I'm a pizza snob and this pizza is fantastic. Note I have never eaten in only carry out and delivery and I've never gone in for a slice but this is what Chicago thin crust (sausage only or it isn't Chicago style) is to taste like.

I've been ordering pizza - and ravioli dinners - from Il Forno for more than twenty years. It's always dependably good to my tastes. Taste will differ, and this pizza is a bit different in some ways from most pizza joints. It's hard to describe it, but it's light years away from Bacci or Dominos, etc. You will love it or hate it, and most folks in this area really love it. Over the years, I've had maybe two delivery issues/problems - the one I remember best involved their young driver's inability to find my house. When that happened, the manager called for good directions and discounted the pizza. So my experience with customer service there is good.

Went in for lunch at 1:30 and all they had were 2 slices of mushroom pizza with apparently nothing cooking. Maybe I'll stop again, probably not. Cluckers down the road has food all the time.

ICKY PIZZA What do you do with a kid who is going to have a food meltdown but you need to go grocery shopping? Check out the local pizza place. I had seen the sign that says it sold pizza by the slice so I threw caution to the wind and decided to check it out. However, sometimes taking a chance pays off and sometimes it doesn't. This was one of the greasiest pieces of pizza I have ever experienced. I actually had to use napkins on the slice to slurp up some of the oil. Ew. And my kid, who will eat about any kind of cheese pizza you throw in front of him, didn't even like it. Although this place was cheap, the quality of the slices matched. Skip this place.

I love the food at Il Forno and it's one of my stops each time I visit home. The pizza dough is made fresh each day and the produce and breads are delivered almost every day as well. I know this because when I was 17 I worked here and helped manage the joint. They have some of the biggest and best Italian beefs in town and their Italian sub sandwiches are excellent. I love all of their sides, like fries, and the pizza -- yep, crazy good - both thin and thick crusts. Anyway, you can tell I wish I could eat here more often, but until they open one in Los Angeles, I'll need to keep it as a bi-annual treat.

Service was mediocre at best. Went in, got served a slice of pizza. They even charge for refills on soda. Unless you just need to grab a quick slice and move on, there is no real reason to stop in here.

I dunno... I must be the only one around here that loves greasy pizza. :-/ We had take out from here and the slices. It's best to wait for a fresh pizza when getting the slices. mmmm-mmmm warm grease... (as opposed to cold grease.) Service is SLOW as others have indicated. And not so friendly either. I don't know what happened, but last time hubby came back from picking up the pizza, he said he can't go back there for a while. (some things are better left unknown) We had the italian beef sandwich. The fries were good... but I would not call it BEEF. It seemed like the old Arby's "beef" from 20 years ago when Americans weren't so picky. Anyway.... go for a walk at Fort Sheridan then stop here for a slice. A warm greasy slice may be in order after a cold sunny day's walk!

We ordered delivery and received 2 huge meals for a reasonable price. I would recommend it to anyone.

The owner/manager on duty this past Sunday is a jerk. We spent $65 on food and they sent us the wrong beverages. We called back and he said that there are other orders so we'll have to wait. After an hour and fifteen minutes of not receiving food, we called back. The guy started to yell at us and said "you aren't my priority right now, you have to wait". Wow!!! What a jerk! This is not the first time I dealt with him either. All he cares about is his money, don't order from there.

Greasy pizza but if you want a lunch slice it's not bad once you dab it down. It's thin crust will hit the spot if you need just a slice. The burger a shame. The beef is the best thing on the menu. The beef is my fav. HP beef so if my mission is a beef sandwich only this is it. It's not the standard dry roast beef with aju sauce but it's Italian style beef with aju. If beef was all they did I would go 31/2 to 4 stars for a fast food joint.

I am very disappointed with the service and quality of food tonight. Ordered online at 510p. Delivery was about an hour (which is fine) We were really looking forward to our order (I always rave about their Italian beefs to everyone) Open the bag and 2 orders of fries were missing and one of the sandwiches came as the dinner. I called to let them know (half our order was missing/wrong) the girl said is that all that's wrong? I said yes half our order is wrong or missing. She asked if we wanted them to send the missing stuff and the sandwich. I said yes and she said ok but we need to give the driver the wrong meal. (which is kind of odd, but ok) I then opened up the two Italian beef sandwiches (one plain one and one with GP and cheese) the plain one is just loaded with meat (like usual) the one with GP and cheese has half the meat and a ton of GP and cheese. That's not right. So I called back and asked for a manager and explained and also reiterated the rest of the order issue. he did apologize and said he didn't know how that all happened but the rest of our order was almost out the door and that they'd add extra meat for the sandwich. Well we took that as the food would be here shortly. nope an hour later it shows up. Everything is ice cold. And as you all know fries are nasty ice cold and don't reheat well at all. So needless to say $40 later most of our food was inedible. as I said earlier I have always raved about their Italian beef sandwiches to everyone. I always say they are the best. Not tonight. Not just because it was cold but it was just flavorless. We will not be ordering from Il Fornos anymore. We've been ordering or stopping in for lunch for years and this just really turned us off. I can spend $40 elsewhere on a meal and be completely happy.

Pizza is not supposed to be healthy, but its not supposed to be slathered in grease either. This place has slices available at lunchtime, but after using $20 worth of napkins to soak up the grease, its not worth eating. I don't want to knock the place too hard, but c'mon. You see your customers dabbing napkins all over the pizza, there has to something that the other pizza places are doing that you can !

Long time local restuarant best with delivery. Tasty cheese pizza.

I can't say this is the worst pizza on the North Shore, but of any other is, it's pretty bad. Delivery is ssssllloooowwww. Delivery people are tacky. Pizza is inconsistent--overcooked once, and under the other (I do give second chances). Sauce is overly sweet and ingredients absolutely cheap. Too bad this is the closest pizza place to my home. Also too bad for the IL Fourno in Deerfield that they have the same name, as that place is very different. Is there anything less than a 1 star? Yuck. Other than all this, it's nice. ;-)

Love the eggplant pizza. Add some bacon and it's even better. I ordered on line and under special instructions asked them to share a joke. They hand wrote the joke on a slip of paper and stapled it to the box. Now that's customer service.

The service and attitude here is unbearable. I was late getting my pizza and I called to let them know how late I was going to be. Knowing that, they could have remade my pizza in that extra time, seeing as it was considerably burnt. They didn't. It was especially disappointing since I had such a positive experience at the IL Forno in Deerfield some weeks before. I recommend if you're considering them, visit the location on Osterman Avenue instead. I was using a coupon that was for the Old Elm location and didn't realize it until I got there to pick up the pizza and looked more closely at my coupon. They still accepted it, and gladly!!

I can't say much about the pizza but I can tell you that if you want a quick, cheap cheeseburger and cheese fries... This is a great spot for it. I usually order an Unusual Burger where you can add pepperoni, bacon, or other "unusual" toppings and upgrade to the combo box which includes fries (I get cheese on the side) and cole slaw. A lot of negative reviews on here for the pizza but I suggest trying the burgers. One of my favorite spots, albeit a little unusual of a choice on the menu of a pizzeria.
