My hopes were high for delicious creations, so much so that I made a 30 mile trip to the seemingly hillbilly sprawl that was Hickory Hills. Unfortunately I was incredibly let down. Let me be the first to state, their website is a huge upsale from their actual storefront. Online is appears to be this vast wonderland of decorating supplies, every confectioner's dream, in person however that's a completely different story. I was greeted by a run down parking lot and a building that has clearly seen better days. Their window display looked like it hadn't been changed since 1985, along with their products. These 'endless' decorating walls were horribly overpriced and horribly unorganized, nothing like the website makes this place out to be. Now, as negative as all of that is (and it's pretty darn negative) it's really a minor thing, what got me was the horrible-- scratch that, atrocious customer service. I shouldn't have to greet an employee when I've literally been standing 3 feet in front of her, waiting to be assisted for 5 minutes, it's just not good business. After these 5 minutes passed I got fed up and asked for assistance, only to be looked at like I was from outer space and had no idea what I was talking about (it's decorating, not rocket science). Upon checking out at their cash wrap I asked a different associate to help me with some sugar decorations and you would have thought I was asking her to give me her first born, all attitude and I was basically being rushed (for mediocre sugar decorations at best). All and all, if you want the same exact product and want actual discounts stick with Michaels and Joanns. Even more so stick to online wholesalers, or even amazon, you'll get half the price for the same exact products (seriously they have to get their stuff here and mark up prices drastically) and not have to deal with the trolls of delicious creations. I'll take a week shipping over a minute of this place, any day.

A family member of mine went there to get a picture screen for my daughter's 3rd bday. It was $6 and some change. We where going to put it on her cake. When my family member got to the car and opened it up she realized it was broken. She she went right back in to see if the would give her another on on and they wouldn't. The lady said "It wasn't broken when we sold it to you". That also told her no refunds. Finally the lady said she'd give her her money back but she couldn't get another one because it was the last one. My family member said that was a lie because she saw the girl take it out and there were more of them. She said the worker was extremely rude. It was $6 give me a break. We will not be using her establishment in the future. I'm a business owner myself and would never treat a customer like that. I wish I would have read the reviews before doing business with this person.

Last summer, I chose this place to do my wedding cake after falling in love with the sample they gave me. I couldn't have been happier with my cake, I brought a picture of exactly what I wanted into the store, and they did it with no problem! My family has since ordered 3 special occasion cakes from the store and still love them! They also have a fantastic selection of baking supplies, and décor.

My 7 year old wants to be a pastry chef, so we were super excited to see there was a bakery supply store in the area! It's a small little store so the selection is limited, however you can find some cool stuff in here that you can't find in the baking aisle at craft stores. It's nice to get the immediate gratification instead of ordering it online. I would love to go here more often, but they have a sign on the door basically telling you kids are not allowed. That makes it a little difficult because I have to leave my younger 2 at home to be able to come here with my aspiring little pastry chef. We especially love the large selection of sprinkles and cookie cutters. I also love their takeout boxes. We do so much baking that it's nice to get the little plastic and paper containers that bakeries use so that we can give her delicious creations away to family, teachers and friends. I believe they have cake decorating and chocolate making classes as well which is pretty awesome, I will have to sign her up for one of those in the future!

I'm not a big fan of tradition, so when my mom-in-law wrapped 1 tier of my chocalate fudge wedding cake and told me I have to eat it in 1 year... I was pretty dissapointed, as this cake was moist and too just delicious to freeze! But to my surprise my anniversary cake tasted absolutely delicious after the one year!!! Delicious Creations, you really know the quality of cake making, you really know how to satisfy your customers, and your frosting is smooth and amazing!

I ordered my wedding cake from here for my 20th wedding anniversary celebration. I feel that for me paying close $300, I did not get a good cake, it was not what I ask for, it was three tiers, the middle was supposed to be strawberry, the top pineapple, and the bottom base just plain yellow, I saw no strawberries, just a very, very very thin layer of strawberry, and a very thin layer of pineapple I could barely taste it or see it, (many of my guest didn't know filling was even in the cake) I wanted a striped and dot cake which she did do, but it was done with melting chocolate frosting, and chocolate was not what I wanted on my cake at all!!! I thought she was going to use fondue, or candy or even plastics to accomplish the look. The service itself was ok, she seems a little rude starting out, but warms up a bit. (I look pass that) I think sometimes people have been doing something for so long they forget why they started in the first place. Overall we did have a cake, so those are the two stars.

The few times I've been there...the customer service was not all that great. The owner always seemed to be in bad mood. The young girl working the counter, while nice, didn't seem to have the answers to my questions. They do have a nice selection, but don't think I'll be back.
