I haven't been to George's since the late 70's. But the entire time I was growing up in Midlothian, IL the smoke from the restaurant would be filling 147th St as we passed by on the way to church. Stopped many times at George's on the way to work at Interlake Steel not far away. George had the BEST ribs back when and I have no doubt they are the same. If you want good ribs...come here. Grew up in Harvey and I used to eat here on a regular. But the best kept secret to this place is the sauce! The stuff is highly addictive...

This is the way to get ribs. No tables, no waiters, just a few pit masters making good food. I have driven past this place for years and I always see people coming and going, I finally had time and cash and I'm glad I did. Meaty ribs and tips, and finger sucking sauce (what sauce not sopped up by the fries and white bread, I sipped out of the container). Portions seemed a little small for price, but I know not all slabs are created equal. Oh, by the way did I mention the sauce, tasty!

This is the Cadillac of an authentic Black rib house that serves the very best ribs in Chicago! Nobody does ribs like George's and I have tried many places... I was first turned onto George's in 1974, my x employer would treat the staff during holiday time to mouth watering and tasty ribs from George's....and I have been coming here and telling others of my favorite rib joint for years. George's is a well kept secret, known only to those in the know about where to get the best ribs in town. No gimmick's here, it's clearly the best in real soulful ribs! Give George's Rib House a visit...They open daily at 4:30pm! Quality....reputation....the best sauce.......It's no wonder George's has been around so long and still goin' strong!

I haven't been to George's Rib House in a while only because I live in the northern suburbs, but I used to go there all the time before I moved from the south suburbs. The ribs are amazing, the rib tips the best, the hot links smokin' tasty. But the best thing is the sauce. Oooh weeee! Awesome stuff! My favorite thing to do there is to ask for extra bread, take some of their crispy fries, pile 'em on the bread and pour the sauce over that and make a BBQ French Fry Sandwich. Oh man, I wish I lived closer.

If you like a sweet smokey barbecue sauce on tender meaty ribs, then you'll love George's. I've been going to George's since I was a kid. I am well into my 50s now. I was just there about 3 weeks ago. I LOVE barbecue ribs. Every other joint and restaurant I've tried, in every other city I've ever visited pale in comparison to George's. The ribs come with fries and white bread. The price is high and I wish the portions were larger, but I can't stay away...even if I have to save up to buy a slab. I have never ordered tips. There are a lot of good rib joints around Chicagoland and some restaurants that serve decent barbecue ribs, but George's is the BEST!
