My first visit to WC in Gurnee, IL from Arizona was wonderful. Matt and Sam were very professional and very friendly and made my dining experience well worth it. I had four sliders with cheese and bacon, very tasty! I will be back as often as possible.

I've heard bad things about White Castle but my ex-bf used to eat their frozen burgers all the time & they were ok for what they were...microwaved sliders. And of course who hasn't seen Harold & Kumar but due to location could not try those delightful looking pillows filled with pungent onions & ground beef. Ok so anyway...I got the Double Cheese Slider Combo - 2 double cheese sliders, a small fry (crinkle cut!!!) and a small drink and then I added an order of onion rings. It was exactly what I expected and if I lived near White Castle, I'd probably go now and then. This location was ok...parking was ample, the restaurant was a little dirty and looked well used but it wasn't awful or anything

Come on folks, it's White Castle. Having grown up in Detroit, WC's was a once-a-month treat, so I have very fond memories. I moved to the south 25 years ago and recently returned to the mid-west. Can't describe how much I missed that distinctive WC gut bomber flavor. Order your fries without salt to get hot ones and then add your own.

Being from the south I've never had white castle before so we tried it one nite while in town and everyone compares it to Krystal, but I don't really see the comparison. Yeah- they may look similar but White Castle tastes much better. We also had great service at the drive thru. We aren't used to fast food employees providing much of anything down south- so it was refreshing to see someone actually hustle.

After our pizza binge we were headed back to our hotel when we saw White Castle! Everyone had that look on their faces like we just saw the Holy Grail. Swung around, quickly pulled in and parked. When we got out of the car, everyone eagerly took pictures like the Eiffel Tower was the backdrop. Wait it gets better! When we walked inside we carried big smiles and took more pictures. The nice lady behind the counter must have been thinking either y'all crazy or y'all from California. And I was thinking, I wonder how many burgers Harold & Kumar really ate? Even though we're full, we managed to down a few yummolicious cheeseburgers. This place was clean and good prompt service. I've been wishing for a White Castle on the west coast! Maybe someday...

If you love greasy burgers, with sauteed onions, then this is the place for you! If your not familiar with White Castle, the burgers are really small... about four make up a regular sized burger. Many of the major food chains like TGIF, AppleBee's and Chilies have added bite sized burgers to their appetizer menu and I've seen this as a copy of White Castle, which has been around for decades. There is no flame cooked burgers here. For it is just one large griddle where the burgers are cooked in a pool of grease along with finely chopped, onions. Hmmm... hmmmm. The fries are okay, nothing special and they do have some chicken option, but I've never had that so can't comment on how good the chick is. But, the burgers... well, they are really good and I personally get the 10 pack! As greasy as they are they go down real quick and leave your tummy pleased. (warning... if your a health food nut, don't come here, for you'll be greatly offended.)

The food is fun and pretty good. The small sandwiches are cool if you can't make up your mind and want two sliders, and two chicken ring sandwiches, or 2 fish, one slider and one chicken patty sandwich. They have Coke Zero which is a plus for me. The drive thru experience was pretty bad. The order taker asked me if I wanted jalapenos with my fruit punch, and then the food order was completely wrong when we got to the window, too. She was very nice, but perhaps not a skilled multi-tasker. Dine-In and you will leave, a happy customer.

Its like fresher white castle then you can get from the stuff you can buy at the super market lol It was good nothing bad. I just expected something more. Or maybe I wasin't stoned so it ruined all my expects of the grand place that Harold and Kumar made seem amazing. Its really cheap and its good just lower your expectations.

White Castle is the epitome of human civilization. Having a White Castle nearby is one of the few reasons why I would want to move back to Illinois. In fact, every time I visit my family/friends in the Chicago-land area, I always have to insist that we get a crave case for some late night feasting. Nothing spells class like eating burgers out of a briefcase like contraption. Honestly, you can't get a better value than the 30 slyders you get for the reasonable price of about 15 bucks. The burger/sliders are, according to common folklore, steamed, which just adds to the mystique that is White Castle. Make sure you eat the burgers while theyre still hot and fresh, as after they cool down, they definitely dont taste as good. Anyways, to sum it up, if you want a high-class meal, definitely hit up this White Castle. Ive never been disappointed by coming here. oh yea...youll have diarrhea the next day

Well, it actually happened! I was transported back to my teens when I walked into this beloved American institution that is otherwise known as The Porcelain Palace. The one that I frequented in my teens is located at 95th & South Cicero Ave. in Oak Lawn, IL, where I, fueled by adolescent peer pressure and the reckless bravery that four warm tall boy Old Styles or Mad Dog 20/20 rendered, dared to routinely order "sliders", or "gut grenades", or "hurl burgers". Upon my doing so, my buddies and I would cackle at the boxy, middle-aged, hair-netted burger matrons' expressions of disbelief, which now older, I would much more accurately read as their fair and reasonable disbelief that yet "another drunk punk, who thinks that he's the next Don Rickles would find what he just did was funny. ::: Does his mother know what a no good hoodlum putz she's raising? :::" Answer: Thanks be to God my sainted mother never caught me ... or, maybe she never let on that she knew what my buddies and I were up to on our Friday night ventures. Gurnee's 'modern' White Castle is much larger, is constructed with remarkably less stainless steel and tile, and features many more colors beyond the traditional white and blue. The most striking change is customer-friendly waist-high counter tops in place of the old shoulder-high variety. Wonderful! The burger matrons are so much more friendly these days, too! (Then again, I did politely order "White Castle burgers, please", and offered my "Thank you" when I retrieved my order. My buddies would be sooo disappointed.) My sliders tasted as I remembered. Well, to be completely honest, I could only guess that they did, since I was sober this time. However, I can share with absolute certainty that my burgers tasted the same after I ate them ... again, and again, and again, as my middle-aged digestive system repeatedly recycled their flavor for the next several hours. Beyond digestive distress, my visit did yield a rather harsh lesson: Like White Castle has over the past few decades, I too have endured drastic changes. (But unlike White Castle I am not as colorful?) Anyway, I issue four stars, because I definitely am a fan regardless of what my gut may have to say about it, and in spite of what it did to me.

I'm from Cali and the only way I can get a White Castle burger is from the supermarket, from the frozen food aisle. But since we're in Chicago, my family and i decided to try a White Castle burger FRESH made from the grill. We ordered different types of burgers, fries, chicken rings, and shakes. I had the original burger, which it taste like the frozen ones (that's a disappointment), I also had the grilled chicken breast burger, it was too dry, i sampled the bacon burger from my sis and it tasted okay, I also had the chicken rings and that was my favorite out of all I've had tried. The vanilla shake was pretty good too. My brother's gf tried their sweet potato fries and she didn't enjoyed it because it wasn't sweet at all. Besides the food, the service was good. We got our order fast and easy. I'll probably go back there again when I'm in town again.......only for their chicken rings!

I've had better. Wanted to taste White Castle so it could be crossed off my list. Decided to come here 2 days before heading back home to the West Coast. Burgers were good. I saw how they were cooked on the Food Network years ago where they have holes in the small burgers and steam them then stick onions on top then its all put on a small little bun with pickles. French fries were gross. I don't like crinkle cut fries. Also tasted onion rings which actually were good and the chicken rings which were good also. I'm from California and there are so many more burger options and maybe I was just comparing these slider like burgers to the ones I'm used too. Don't get me wrong, White Castle burgers are good, but not good enough to go out of my way if I had a burger craving.

I saw an unsanitary condition at White Castle in Waukegan, and I wrote headquarters. They send me a letter to give to this nasty place for-free food, that had my name, address and that I had complained. They were to keep the letter in exchange for the "free" food. lol I tore up the letter and I have never gone into the Greenbay/Belvedare store EVER AGAIN. The prep counter was NASTY where they were fixing the sliders, and they never cleaned it off after doing many batches.. The onions were all over the counter, and they pit more sadwiches up there for the longest, with those old onions. Watch the area, where they are fixing your sliders!!! You could get deathly sick from those old stale onions. I watched and I left, and wrote the main company!

i went to chicago the other weekend. our flight came in at around 10pm and we got into gurnee at around midnight or so. we were starving and was going to stop by taco bell for something to eat. suddenly, we pass by a little white building.. it's white castle!!! a special mid west treat because we don't have them here in cali!! i swear i saw a bright light and heard bells!! we got the 10 sliders meal with 5 jalapeno cheeseburger sliders. my mouth is watering just typing this! yes, ladies and gentlemen.. white castle is as good as harold and kumar make it out to be! it was so tasty and amazing!! they have crinkle cut fries too! the jalapeno sliders were my favorite with just the right amount of kick.. i can't wait to go back to get another fix of those delicious, greasy, melt-in-your-mouth fantastic sliders!!!

The chocolate dipped cheesecake on a stick was really good though and for 99 cents you can't beat it! It was just the right amount too.
