I went on a Sunday evening for early dinner, late lunch and had a terrible experience the second I stepped into the restaurant. Having a party of seven, I expected a short wait but there were tables available .. great, right? Wrong.. we had to wait 10 minutes for someone to put together two tables. We then sat down and our waiter, who happened to be very friendly, was just a slight bit off his game. Not only spilling a drink over a guest I had been dining with but while ordering, he forgot to inform us they were out of chocolate milk (for the young one), avocados for the guacamole, tomatoes for the salads and they were also out of Sprite syrup so, no Sprite either. We were almost afraid to order our entrees in fear we would be told they were out of meat. Come on, now! How can you operate a restaurant without half the things in stock that are on the menu? Very disappointing. Aside from all of that, the ambience was very relaxing and the prices weren't too bad. Along with these two things, the salad bar (unlimited for an extra $1.99 with the purchase on an entree) was stacked and full of goodies. Fresh salads and condiments and we were very pleased with that as well. Those three things are what earned the restaurant a two star rating; rather than a one star. Will I eat here again? Sure, why not! It was good and it happened to be a poor evening to dine here. Once (and if I ever get the chance to do so) I dine here again, I will be sure to update this review but for now, the slow and sloppy service, the poor variety of foods and the experience earned this star a "Meh. I've experienced better." rating.

Love this restaurant. Really superb food, lots of choices. Wide variety of drinks, although they might be suited more for the ladies. They got many beers as well. Staff is always very friendly. Good atmosphere with great decor. I go there every week sometimes more than once.

In terms of the Good-Time Eatery genre of restaurants, this Ruby Tuesdays is below average. Perhaps it's the excess foot traffic from the mall, but this location seems dirtier than others I've visited. Likewise, the restrooms on both occasions I have visited have required serious attention--think Port-o-Potty, but with ceramic tiles. The service was average, our first time here, we experienced great service, which encouraged our decision to return. Upon our subsequent visit, however, getting a refill was like hailing a NYC cab during rush-hour. The salad bar, normally a buffet of awesome, was sparse and in desperate need of attention. I will likely eat here again if I'm shopping at the mall, but it will be with some trepidation.

I don't get it. Is this place supposed to have a sarcastic vibe to it? Is that its claim to fame besides its food? You know, like an Ed Debevic's sort of shtick? Or was our waiter just messing with us? Because if the former was the case, I wouldn't be so outraged. I went shopping with some family, and we decided to come here to eat. We were seated very promptly, and everything seemed to be going fine, until we met our waiter. As soon as he met, us, he asked us how we were doing and where we were from. That's fine. But then he got into an almost 5-minute questioning session, almost like an interrogation. I don't mind trying to be friendly, but once you start acting like the Inquisition has made a comeback, I get rather annoyed. It seemed like he was fishing around for a tip by trying to be as "friendly" as possible. At the end of our meal, he was also talking to us about his daughter, even though we hadn't asked any questions related to that topic. Very annoying. It gets to a point where you start to feel, "Can you just shut up, go away, and leave us alone in peace?" When we all ordered drinks, my older sister had asked, "Can I have a glass of water, please?" Our waiter's response was, "I don't know, CAN you?" and made her re-order it by saying, "MAY I have a glass of water, please?" Seriously? Afterward, when he brought us our drinks, he said to her while handing her the glass of water, "And here you go, Miss Priss." Excuse YOU? To be quite frank, what the hell was that? How is she a priss? It's not like she placed a special-order drink, or made it complicated. How hard is it to get a glass of water? Very, very rude. You're not working at a sarcastic shtick place! We would've just up-and-left right then, but the crowds in the food court had already started. Seriously, this got to the point where I wanted to say to him, "Do you want a tip or not? I don't know, let's see if you improve! It's kind of up to you at this point." But I knew better and ended up holding my tongue. I didn't want my food to be spat in, or who knows what else in the kitchen. When we ordered, our waiter didn't know some of the items because he said that he had just started working here after leaving X amount of years ago, and some of the items that we were ordering had not been around when he had last worked here. Okay, fine, understandable if that's really the case. Please note that we did not have any special requests, or had our meals altered in any way. When our waiter brought our food, he dropped my plate. That I'm completely fine with, I don't mind. It happens, it's BOUND to happen, it's understandable, it's okay as long as you apologize. Which he actually did, and had the kitchen cook up a new one, as should be done. The manager came over and apologized to us, and said that my meal was on the house. However, when it came time to pay the bill, our waiter claimed that the manager never told him that. My party pressed him long enough until he agreed to my lunch being on the house. Seems like there's a massive lack of communication between the waitstaff and management. Since I didn't pay the bill, I'm not sure how much of a tip we left our waiter, or even one at all. If we did, though, I'm sure it wasn't very much at all. While we were waiting for our food (which was quite a while, about 20 minutes when the place wasn't even very busy at all!), our waiter would come back to check on us. But instead of just a glance to see if everything was in order, he would hang around for a minute or two, practically breathing down our necks. My party also noticed that a lot of the waiters were just standing around in the area where they get drinks, talking. Even if they aren't busy, aren't waiters supposed to make it look like they are busy? Don't they get in trouble for just standing around and socializing? The food was actually pretty good, I must admit. However, our waiter completely ruined the experience. If we had a better waiter, this meal would have been a lot more enjoyable. This place gets 1 star because the food was pretty good, and management did a good job taking care of my dropped food. I will definitely try other Ruby Tuesday establishments, just not this one ever again, unless they got a completely new waitstaff.

I have been coming here for years and their costumer service always been top notch. Today not only I didn't get the biscuits, they messed up my drink, forgot ny side for dinner and brought it out when I was done. Overall food still great. Whats going with this place ???!!!!!

Today, I purchased a rib eye, asparagus and mashed potatoes. The steak is cooked fine, but is the toughest rib eye I have ever had. The asparagus still had the thick stalks on it and weren't peeled properly. And the mashed potatoes were old and dry. Not creamy at all. I have tried this restaraunt one too many times.

This chain is one of my favorites and the one in Gurnee is the best of the best. I have never had a bad meal at Ruby Tuesday. A few times the service has been marginal but very rarely. We only had soup and of course, the salad bar, but our server treated us like it was a big order. He even brought us biscuits that weren't part of our order. This is one of the few franchises where being part of their "club" matters. Instead of a coupon for a dessert, it's often two entrees for the price of one. Great restaurant!

Before you food snobs think, "Ugh, Ruby Tuesday...a chain restaurant?" Yes! Ruby Tuesday...a chain restaurant! I give this place 5 stars for a few (good) reasons. 1. They still have a salad bar! Sorry, not a germaphobe, so it doesn't bother me that its buffet style. Its make your own salad...who doenst want that!? 2. They have a selection of calorie conscious menu items that are pretty tasty. 3. Clean - everywhere, restrooms too. 4. The service is excellent. Seriously! I have NEVER had a bored or rude server or host, they are fun talkative and check on us just enough without being too intrusive. Mu husband and I go there when we want to grab dinner after an I'm-not-cooking-tonight kind of day which is often..which leads me to #5 5. It wont break your bank! You can usually use a coupon when you DO have to penny pinch (gotta give up your e.mail, but they don't flood your in-box so I don't mind) At any rate...I love this place for a casual meal. For you shoppers, its right IN the mall (Gurnee Mills)

Meh. It's Ruby Tuesday. I don't even know how we wound up here. Maybe something about my husband being extraordinarily hungry and wanting the salad bar? We arrived and were seated promptly, though they appeared to get quite busy shortly after we arrived. Our server was attentive. Food was good -- nothing special. I had a bacon cheeseburger. We'd probably come back in a pinch because it's close to home, but there was nothing remarkable about the experience.

For a corporate restaurant I would say we had a good experience. Our servers name was Zachary and he was very attentive. Honestly I came here for the salad bar (doesn't disappoint). Was told a 45 min wait on Valentine's Day was only about 25 min. Nothing special but was worth it since everything else was packed through the roof for v-day.

I don't know what it is about Gurnee and theme based restaurants/bars, but many of them really are below average. I remember when RT's was good, prices reasonable and the salad bar was awesome. I dined at this location recently and boy oh boy, how things have changed. RT's decided to get cute and that does not work. The food was Okay but not for the small portion with the bigger price. The service was lousy and it was really slow that day. Too many other choices...

Its just ok. Its an average menu, bit high priced for the quality of food. Good service, liked their homemade buscuits.the salad bar is a great idea. If they do that they should have veggies for kids too like pumkin or spunach or broccoli. Honestly it was an okish restaurant. Dont think we'll go again.

The chef managed to both under cook the center and burn the outside my crab cake. The presentation was poor. The cake was broken into 10 pieces. The green beans were hot but raw. I'm guessing this is a kitchen that is in too big a hurry to cook the food properly. I had been I while since I dined there. It will be quite a while before I go back.

Went with my family on a Wednesday, and I was surprised by the quality of the food and the service. I have no complaints the service was excellent, above my expectations. The food was good and worth its price, will go back the next time I visit the mall.

Ruby Tuesday is simply the best casual dining chain restaurant option in the Gurnee area. There are so many reasons to love it: from the strawberry lemonade and potent long island iced tea on the bar side to the triple prime burger on the burger side, I'm a fan. The spinach artichoke dip and lump crab cake are also delicious appetizers. I tend to shy away from the steaks, seafood and chicken, because in my opinion these are merely adequate from Tuesdays. The ribs, however, are delicious as well as the great variety of side dishes which come as options with many entrees. I love the mashed cauliflower & sugar snap peas. If you are vegetarian, the salad bar is a nice option and one of the few places where this dying offering still exists. Delicious edamame and pumpernickel croutons are my favorites. Don't forget the great fit and trim options on the menu for calorie counters: spaghetti squash marinara sauce is a standout. Service is friendly and good. Know what to order, and Tuesdays will satisfy.

The one star is for this Ruby Tuesdays, not all RTs. The waitress was horrible! She stopped at our table 3 times and had an attitude with us. I noticed she was upset the other table across from us did not leave her a tip. Usually, I am a 20% tipper. She got $2.40 and I shouldn't left that. The salad bar was very clean, but the food from the kitchen was below average. The manager seemed nice, but a manager is ONLY as good as the restaurant she runs.

We dine at Ruby Tuesday on a fairly regular basis and enjoy whatever we order, whether it may be meat, fowl or seafood. We find the Salad Bar well stocked and carefully tended. Entrees are generally consistent in composition, flavor and portions from visit to visit. Wait staff consistently offers a higher quality of service than one would typically encounter at other chain restaurants, and wait staff seems vested in creating a positive dining experience for customers, and appear eager to become acquainted with 'regular' patrons. Ruby Tuesday also offers a diverse selection of surprisingly high quality wines, and wait staff is generally well read about them as well as how they may pair with entrees. We would strongly recommend registering your name and email address as "So Connected" customer members (ask a waiter for a form), so you may regularly receive weekly email news about specials, and coupons to print and cut out to enjoy remarkable savings, such as a Buy One/Get One, 25% and 15% Off deals. You need not be concerned about presenting your coupons (as you order), because you will soon learn, as we did, that staff enthusiastically encourages the practice. Prices are moderate, though food quality, remarkable "So Connected" savings, and wait staff service easily justify them.

About 13 years ago I went to one of these. The meal and service was so bad I've never been back. yesterday a friend wanted to go here for her birthday so three of us went. The service was really very good. Our waiter was fun and attentive, but what's with the insane prices? 13 bucks for a hamburger? Wow! I had chicken quesedilla and a tiny cup of soup and it was like 12 bucks. They were ok, but I could hit a thousand taquerias in the neighborhood that would have to-die-for quesadillas for a third of that. My friends both had the burgers and one of them thought it was so bland she didn't finish it. 13 bucks for a bland burger. And here's the really insulting part. She wanted a cup of soup in place of one of the sides with her 13 dollar burger and they couldn't accommodate it. That kinda sucks. There's really nothing so extraordinary about this place to warrant what their charging. It seems rather wasteful. My original impression of this place 13 years ago stands. Not worth it.

We usually go here at least once a month if not more. It is pretty good for the most part. My husband loves it there so that is why we go that often. I would not. I do love their strawberry lemonade. It is one of the best around. The only think I really get here is the triple prime burger. It is out of this world. I have strayed and went with other items and I have to say that I am not impressed with them. This past time I ordered the triple prime meatloaf (I had a coupon thank God!) It was like they molded Alpo dog food. It had a strange texture, also I have never had meatloaf that had celery in it. Anyway. I won't get the salad bar because I am not a fan of the way it is presented. The tongs just lay on the plate of food. Meaning when people grab the tongs and then put them down, they are basically puting their hands in the food that I am about to pick up. YUCK! Watch next time you go. Only reason I noticed was we were sitting near it and I kept watching and was so grossed out I mentioned something to the waiter and he just laughed and said what can you do? Sometimes we get the free garlic knots and sometimes we don't, it is never consistent. Again I go here because my husband likes it. There are too many other places around that area that I like better. But it is okay, the triple prime burger is really good.

To Start I love Ruby Tuesday's salad bar. And I have to thank my brother and best friend Chris for that. Love ya bro. The atmosphere at ruby's great and the people there are always nice and willing to get you what you want. And the all you can eat salad bar all i got to say is bring it on!!!!!!!!!!!!! My husband loves there salad bar he always says who needs anything more when there salad bar fills you up. The only thing i don't like about the salad bar is they made the plates smaller :( Which mean you can't put a lot on your plates not cool. But other then that it's a great place not only for salad bar but for burgers and much much more. I know I'll be back how about you???

Spent the entire day at the mall with my girl and BFF shopping so of course we became real hungry. This place was kinda crowded, but we got served right away. I wanted a burger and some salad so I ordered the mini burgers and the salad bar. My burgers were pretty good. The salad had good choices. I always appreciate a salad bar that includes field greens and spinach. The fries were endless but I couldn't eat that much cuz I ate so much from the salad bar. I was definitely stuffed and happy after eating here. The other girls were satisfied with their meals as well. Yaaaaay 4 shoppin & eatin!

While I believe most people have probably been to a Ruby Tuesdays, I still thought I should share a few little tidbits about it. I'm not too sure why other restaurants have such a small selection of vegetables, but the salad bar here ROCKS!! I love that they have edamame on it too (bonus points). And there's just something about the balsamic vinagrette dressing that I love. For those of you watching calories, there's plenty to choose from. You can get a sirloin steak, mashed potatoes, green beans and a salad for probably half or more of the calories you would consume at the other chains in the area. Service is usually pretty good. They have these yummy cheesy, garlic biscuits now too. And one of the new combos that I LOVE is the salad bar with two sides. And if you still have room after all of this, they have some ridiculously scrumptious red velvet cupcakes. :-)

Ruby Tuesdays is one of my all time favorite places to eat, so anytime we go to Gurnee Mills Mall my wife and I stop off there. Ruby has a fantastic menu with something for everyone, I love the Ruby Tuesdays classic burger, but the reason I love going to Ruby is their salad bar! YES SALAD BAR. They don't make the largest, but they without a doubt have the best salad bar I have ever seen. They have everything that you ever want in a bad. Whoever design their salad bars really understand what people are looking for when it comes seeking salad. This is the only place I can honestly say I can just go there and eat at their salad bar, and be perfectly happy. We have been going to Ruby Tuesday for many many years, and I can so I never had a bad experience there, though sometimes, because it's in the mall, there is a long waiting line. I certainly won't take off points for that, especially since they just opened a new one near South Ridge Mall in Milwaukee, which maybe a bit closer. The only real complaint I had this last time was that it was freezing in there, but again I don't go there to get warm so 5 Stars for Ruby Tuesday!

As for a casual dining chain restaurant, this is as good as I think it can get. If you haven't been to Ruby Tuesday's lately, I highly recommend giving them another try. There have been huge improvements in food quality, preparation, service, and pricing that really puts it above-and-beyond the other casual dining chains. I will admit that I was a bit skeptical after reading an article in a newspaper about how Ruby Tuesday's had improved. I used to go quite frequently but stopped when they removed most of my favorite items from the menu about six years ago and raised prices on everything else. Late last year I was on my way home and stopped for dinner and didn't feel like getting fast food and saw that there was a Tuesday's, went in and was pleasantly surprised at the improvements. Since then, I have been to my local Ruby Tuesday's a few times and each time I have had a high-quality dinner for a reasonable price. A few days ago, I went for dinner and ordered the Steak and Lobster Tails. While I have had better, it was still very good and one would be hard-pressed to beat the price. My dinner included the excellent all-you-can-eat salad bar. It was just another great dinner for a great price at Ruby Tuesday's.

My bf and I decided to take a drive down to Gurnee since I had a certificate for a free burger, since my b'day is right around the corner. For probably the 9th time in 5 years, they have changed their menu. OK with me. (BTW I would guess Olive Garden has never changed theirs?) Something new is that they serve small complimentary garlic and cheddar biscuits before the meal. These were reminiscent of ones I had at Red Lobster years ago, but not nearly as good. They were kinda blah, but they were free so who can complain. Another new thing is apparently the people who designed the menu are obsessed with blackberries. There was cheesecake with blackberries, various drinks made with blackberries, blackberry covered broccoli (OK maybe that was a wild exaggeration). Another thing, I did not eat from the salad bar this time but I have in the past and usually like it. This place also earns point with me for posting the prices of their alcoholic drinks on the menus. This restaurant is of course inside a huge outlet mall, and you can see through the glass the garden variety of people who patronize the mall. There were also quite a few sailors from Great Lakes there today. Lord knows I have a roving eye, and I love a man in uniform! But that's neither here nor there. Anyway, the waitress was friendly and the service was fine. I just wish they had something really distinctive that would set them apart from Applebee's and all the other fast casual chain restaurants. Their menu is pretty pedestrian.
