Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

This review is based on the Pizza from the Gurnee Jimano's only. The cliche saying of fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me totally makes sense at Jimano's. The first time we had it was when we moved into the area from the City and we got a thin crust, mushroom pepperoni sausage pizza. We get home and open the pizza to the thinnest layer of toppings and cheese I have ever seen. I go to take a slice and what little cheese there is slides off... of every single slice I took no matter how I grabbed it. Took a bite, the cheese I managed to save on the slice slides off with the bite so essentially my first bite of each slice had all the cheese on it and the rest of the slice was crust with a ketchupy sauce. The pizza was bad. Im sorry, but that pizza made Papa John's Pizza look like a michelin star pizza restaurant, it was that bad. I figured ok, the first time might have been a fluke so I decided to try it again. We ordered the double dough instead. Once again, totally skimpy toppings, barely any cheese, and this time a thick bready dough. Go to pick up slice one and bam!! there goes the cheese. Just like my first experience, I put the cheese back on my slice, eat all the cheese from one slice in one bite. I immediately grabbed the rest of the pizza and said that's it, tossed it, and said next time we are getting a frozen pizza. Thin crust. Bad. Double dough. Bad. Toppings. Bad. Come on Jimano's, is cheese really that expensive that you can barely cover a pizza with any? And the sauce is runny liquidy so nothing stays on the pizza! Maybe I am picky but this place is bad. No way I am coming back. I'll go to chuck-e-cheese for pizza before I go back to Jimano's. I don't know what their other food is like but their pizza blows. Nice people work the phones and cash register though so props for that.

Solid delivery joint. One of the last places making legit Chicago style thin crust pizza in the area after Pats closed. Pizza is great, great wings too. Id probably pass on their salads though. I've ordered delivery here a gang of times, they've never goofed an order and its always been on time. What more can you ask for?

Good pizza, good salads, good apetizers. A bit pricey but worth it.

A good sweet sauce pizza.

So I don't know why people hate on the thin crust because my husband and I LOVE IT!! I swear we live right down the street and have been little piggies that order the thin crust all the time. We are originally from CA and believe this is our favorite pizza place since moving to the Chicago area. We recommend getting pepperoni and mushrooms. YUMMY!!!

I have only had the pizza from the Gurnee location, but it is my absolute favorite pizza! This is always my first choice when it comes to pizza. The reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars is because it is a bit pricey. We won't order without a coupon, and even then it is up there in price. Delivery does usually take a while as a previous reviewer said, but we live close enough to pick up easily. My favorite is the double dough crust and all the pizzas are nice and cheesy, the way a pizza should be! If you haven't tried Jimano's yet you are definitely missing out!

Ordered a 16" stuffed sautéed green pepper & ground beef with lite salt. My order# was 67 taken by Mr. Measo at 5:47pm 1/22/13. First of all, the green peppers were not sautéed! Second, the sauce was extremely salty! Even my wife, who is the queen of salt kingdom said it was to salty! We had to scrape off the top layer of sauce just to salvage the pizza to eat it. It was still salty, but we managed. The reason I asked for lite salt was because I had two previous salt encounters with this location. We tried thin crust and deep dish before and the same thing. To much salt! I'm done! I'll go back to Giordanos or even mikes pizza house in Gurnee! My advise to Jimano's is taste your pizzas once in a while. Staff is nice though my pizza was salty.

The best pizza in Chicago land!!!! The 18" deep dish is so huge that one slice is enough. We order one of these and an order of bread sticks for our family of 3 big eaters and have left overs for days. My wife loves their spaghetti and meat balls. Finally the pizza arrives quick and piping hot from the Gurnee location.

Pizza was surprisingly good. salad was fresh even after I was late picking it up. It was the Gurnee location I went to and not Waukegan. Will be back.

I just arrived in town to speak at a convention and no complimentary limousine had been sent for me and my 25 gests so I had to get a rent-a-car of all preposterous things. I had just arrived at the rent-a-car establishment and there was this little pizzeria named Jimano's next door and this attractive employee at the counter caught my fancy. Well, I went in and I was bombarded by this amazing aroma of what I can only explain as heaven. While Jeffries, my butler was taking care of the rental accommodations, my 25 guests and I sat down to dine which just had enough room for all of us. Little did I know my mouth was in for the ride of its life. We ordered a variety of food ranging from thin crust to stuffed pizza and appetizers. As we were waiting, they supplied us with a rather graciously large order of their mouthwatering breadstix. Well, I tell you, as I thrust that mouthwatering breadstick into my mouth, I couldn't believe what amazing flavors were gracefully crossing my food pallets; it was mouthwatering indeed. Next to enter my mouth was a rather interesting style Chicago pizza called The Stuffed. What a beauty this was, a baked deep dish pie reminiscent of Grandma's apple cobbler back in Cardif. All the ingredients are jammed into this pie and sealed with a hand rolled edge just like Grandmas cobbler and topped off with a marvelous thick red sauce. I can tell you, this tantalized my pallets as well. Everything from the environment, the staff, the thin crust to the stuffed and everything in between was absolutely amazing. I only hope they expand this business overseas so I can enjoy this back home in England.

When I lived in Cali and Texas before, I would have killed for this pizza. But, in Chicago, it's just so so. I get why some people rate this pizza high, as everyone has different pizza tastes even in Chicago. This is not bad pizza, I'm giving it only 2 stars because I thought it was too salty. Perhaps I had a bad pie, but I think there are better places in the area.

My wife picked up a pizza for me n the kids on her way home pizza was just bad all the way around usually a good pizza wasn't cooked rite barly any topping just sucked

4 stars is a little much but considering my options in Gurnee, it is much better than Dominos/Pizza Hut/Pappa John's joints. I have only tried their pizza and salad, and each time the product was good and consistent.

Jimano's is our favorite pizza. We order from here very often. They offer Alfredo sauce as an alternative to tomato sauce. Even though their tomato sauce is very good, the Alfredo sauce pizza is irresistible to us! We combine it with their excellent sausage, pepperoni and black olives on thin crust for a swoon-worthy treat. They are very generous with their toppings, especially the cheese. The breadsticks are unlike anything anyone else has to offer. Not dried up bread with some garlic and maybe Parmesan. But airy, puffy bites with the most wonderfully seasoned olive oil. At this point, we could be on the floor with our swoon. But then, we wouldn't be able to continue to eat. Arrives so hot you can burn your mouth if you're not careful. Amaaaazing!

The best thin crust pizza in the northern suburbs hands down. I've tried a bunch of other places in search of a cheaper option but always end right back at good old Jimano's. I'm a pepperoni-tomato gal and since my daughter likes pineapples on her pizza, I just ask for a side of pineapples for her. My son is more of a pepperoni-sausage guy and we love the breadsticks too. An order of those jokers can fill you up by themselves. Check for coupons, there's always coupons online and you can even place your order online.

My fiancé and I recently moved to Gurnee, and we have already found our new favorite pizza place. They delivered during the snowstorm on New Years Day, which was amazing. They also delivered within the promised time frame. We tried the double dough pizza (spinach and tomato) and breadsticks. Both were fantastic. I can't wait to try more of their menu options!

I've been buying pizza from Jimano's Pizzeria in Gurnee for several years. But recently last two pizzas I have ordered have been absolutely terrible. They have changed their crust and became very skimpy on their toppings. In my opinion there are no better than and over priced Little Caesars. I hope this is not the new standard for Jimano's everywhere.

Pretty impressed actually. Was in town for work and wanted pizza, hotel front desk recommend Jimanos. Ordered Italian beef pizza with giardineira and side of wings. The pizza was tremendous! Was worried when yelped called the sauce sweet (had nightmares of Larosa's in cincinnati). Wings weren't anything special- next would just get a bigger pizza and ignore the wings. Service was also top notch. They gave us $3 off because we only did the Italian beef on half. Girl was very nice on the phone. Same with delivery guy who was even earlier than quoted. If you're in Gurnee - get your pizza here! And definitely order the Italian beef pie!

I love going to this place because you can tell the manager really wants to provide customers with quality service and food. The pizza by the slice is a great lunch time favorite. Plus, I highly recommend the BLT and Italian Beef pizzas. They are hands down the most unique and tasty pizzas I have ever tried. And for a place that specializes in pizza, there ribs are delicious. Really tender. Make sure to sign up for their email list. It's a great way to know about specials and get coupons. Oh, and they offer gluten free pizza. My friend tries to avoid gluten and its a great way for her to have pizza when we order out.

Ordered a large pepperoni & saugsage from this place and it was delicious! Me and my sister ate the whole thing in 2 days :)

OK, this place is in my parent's neighborhood and I have had this pizza many times while visiting and when I lived with them back in the day. We decided to order a pie after we got back from our Mother's Day celebrations. The pizza was ready fast and it was HOT when my brother brought it home. I love the cheesy goodness of this pizza. I wish there was a Jimmy's Pizza in Chicago because I can't get enough of this when I eat it! I had to contain myself because we all know that pizza isn't the healthiest dish around. If you go there, the bread sticks are so good, they melt in your mouth. I love their thin sausage pizza. Just a tad greasy so I dab some of the grease off with napkins!

fairly solid thin-crust pizza. their sauce is on the sweet side, crust is decent but tends to get soggy in the middle. better than pizza hut.
(3)Patrick J.
Worst pizza i've ever had. They put the cheese over the toppings trapping all the grease, the cheese turns to rubber within minutes, the sauce is bland, and they cut the pizza in squares. Whoever runs this place has no clue how pizza is supposed to be made. If you have no taste buds this is the place for you.
(1)M B.
The best pizza in the area, better than Giordano's, Uno's and all those other mid-size chains. The key difference for me is Jimmy's seasons their pizza really well. After trying Jimmy's everything else just tastes bland!
