Like some of the others said, the wait for the food was a little long but the food is great. Service was ok. It was really drafty inside though. I don't know why it wasn't very heated.

First off only downside was there's not enough booths and kinda cramped. Service.. was fair. 3 stars.. Food. Wings were on the bone and really good . We ordered the spinach deep dish and that was amazing. The deep dish here is good with any topping but I think the spinach is gonna be the regular now. Drinks.. Pepsi tastes like Pepsi ;)

In the words of the smartest guy ever, Flava Flav - "Don't believe the hype" Seriously, at this location, the service is poor, the product is inconsistent and I never know what I am getting. If it were not for the lack of a decent pizza joint in Gurnee AND the brand name, I can't imagine them staying open at this location.

I like this place as it provides a nice family atmosphere and good get together location. The decor is very nice, especially considering it's in a strip mall. For me, in a convenient location, and the wait staff are helpful and friendly. If your new to the area and never had Chicago style, deep dish pizza, this is a good place to come to. However, do keep in mind that they make the pies fresh and since it's deep dish it will take at least 30 to 40 minutes to cook. So, if you're in a rush, go thin crust, but my advice is take your time, enjoy some down time to talk with friends and family, and go with the deep dish pizza. The salads are good too, but be careful in filling up on soups, salads or other appetizers if your going deep dish, because chances are by the time you eat the appetizer, to when the pizza comes out, you will not be hungry and maybe get in one slice. The only down side is in my opinion their dessert menu is weak. You can bet we're checking back in here from time to time.

HORRIBLE service. Was seated at 2:45. Saw waiter wall past multiple times but wasn't even talked to until 3:10. Another waitress tried taking appetizer plate away before we were even done with it

Amazing pizza. The customer service could improve but you can't beat the pizza. The thick/stuffed crust with pepperoni, bell peppers, and sausage it legit.

  • Peter G.

By far the worst service around. Hardly anyone in the restaurant and it took over 20 minutes to get the appetizer! Waiters and waitresses standing around talking and not working. The worst pizza place in Illinois!! DO NOT EAT HERE!!

I wasn't sure if I would like Chicago style pizza but decided to give it a try. As long as I don't think if it as 'pizza", I love it. It's a different experience than what I have in New York, and that's ok. I had the stuffed pizza with green peppers, sausage, and fresh mushrooms. very tasty.

Seriously! What is wrong with Gurnee peeps and their poor reviews on amazing restaurants! Visiting on a business trip and I was recommended by a local to come here for Chicago style pizza... Man o man! I have interesting taste buds, but I had the stuffed pizza pie with onions, ground beef and pineapple... SO GOOD! Also had the harvest salad... So crisp and fresh!!! Would totally recommend it :)

My favorite Chicago Pizza! We have dined at the restaurant and also have had delivery. I'm not very crazy about the service, it always seems like super young people who only care about how fast you eat so they can flip your table and onto the next. Delivery is quick, however, every time I order a side of ranch to dip the crust of my pizza in, they never bring it, even though I double check to make sure it's on the order. Tonight we also ordered their desserts (cannoli and tiramisu) and they were mediocre at best, which was really disappointing. The tiramisu was a thawed out mushy mess....gross! The taste didn't taste like any tiramisu I've ever had, it tasted kinda like over processed tap water. If you want good Italian dessert, save your money and go to Tina's

Never had a bad experience. This is a definite must visit when I visit Illinois. Always get the stuffed crust pizza and always regret leaving Illinois after the first bite.

Worst dining experience I have had in a long time. The service was AWFUL. Our waitress was the most un-personable server I may have ever had. She seemed genuinely angry and clearly had somewhere else she'd rather be. No personality what so ever, a genuine debbie downer!!!!!! Looking forward to a nice night out with some great friend it was too bad we got the sour puss waitress. However, we all got some good laughs when she walked away about how straight up unhappy she seemed. Luckily the pizza was good! Otherwise the night would have been a bust. Service was just so terrible, I don't really know what else to say!!! AND SLOW! It took about 10 minutes for our drinks and I am pretty sure she forgot our appetizers. So, if you get stuck with Jaime (only know her name because it was on our check-not like she'd introduce herself or anything!) REQUEST SOMEONE ELSE!! Sorry girl, but serving is clearly not for you.

After my son's Navy graduation, we all decided to stuff our faces here. After all, this is Chicago style deep-dish country right? When we arrived we were greeted and seated right away. The restaurant was fairly busy with locals and other sailor families who had the same idea. We got a couple pitchers of soda then we ordered their 14" Large Stuffed Pizza "Special" - Sausage, Mushrooms, Green peppers and Onions. Naturally, stuffed or deep dish pizzas take a bit longer to cook versus thin or pan crust style but it's definitely well worth the wait! When this thing hit the table, it was cooked perfectly and piping hot. The cheese looked like lava slowly oozing out of a volcano. All the ingredients worked well together as I savored every bite to the last. It was pretty dam tastylicious! Good and prompt service. We all left the place like the pizza - Stuffed! Giordano's Pizzeria you have a new fan...

Dined at the Gurnee location after a day at Six Flags. Very rude server , clearly she didn't want to serve a family of five with three young kids. No refills, no offer to serve a second beer, we had to ask for everything, including removing dirty plates. I shared my concerns on their Website and no reply, obviously nobody checks this, or they just don't care. Normally I wouldn't even share this information, but what the heck, you gotta love social media. Perhaps the folks at Giordanos should monitor this or slowly go out of business. Too many other choices for pizza. Happy eating!

We had pizza, pasta and salad delivered to our hotel, so I don't know about the actual restaurant, but our delivery experience was excellent and arrived before the promised time. We had the thin crust cheese pizza. The sauce was excellent and made the pizza. It was cut into squares not wedges. I especially enjoyed the baked mostaccoli. Again great sauce which makes or breaks a pasta dish. I'm not sure the next time I'll be in Gurnee, but if I do I plan to check out the rest of Giordano's menu.

Good food and service was good from everyone but the hostess who thinks it's her job to flirt with the male host instead of helping customers. Overall a decent meal

One of the worst food experiences I've ever had in my life. I called ahead to place an order for dine in so when I got there I could eat, the person on the phone was ever so rude took our order told us for seating first come first serve which makes sense but he hung up on us after he told us that. We go there to eat and got seating , got our food and enjoyed it! It then took forever for us to get the bill but we got it like 20 min after eating. We paid the bill and left. About 20 min after leaving we get a call from the same guy who took our order threatening us that we didn't pay the correct amount on the bill after counting our money(we split the bill). We went back because we are nice and wanted to let them know we DID pay the right amount of money and asked for the manager and told the worker make sure it's not the person taking phone orders. The worker grabs the manager who is the one working on phones. The manager then shows us how much we paid for but it wasn't the amount we left. There was change included in the amount that he had and there wasn't any change left on the table. Pretty much if you do go there be-careful of the workers and manager they will claim that you haven't paid the full bill to get money off of you. Great pizza horrible service.

Pretty amazing pizza. I am not a pizza officianato but truly enjoyed the pizza. You have to wait about 45 minutes for your order so dont go if you are in a hurry. Five of us order two medium pizza's and had a ton left over to take back to the hotel. Which were nibble on constantly over the next day or so. Good service, clean, good food.

The service at this location is just horrible, after several horrible experiences over the last few years I refuse to go here. Pizza is typically good when cooked right but service takes that away with ease!

  • Melissa R.

Great Pizza! They get really busy and backed up often. The service is slow, but that may be because the pizza's are slow! Try the deep dish "Chicago" style- you won't be disappointed! To cut the wait (30 min plus for the deep dish) call ahead. Giordano's will make your pizza and start the baking. Come in and sit, tell the hostess you called ahead-- 5 min wait! Restaurant is clean, as are the restrooms (for a pizza joint) Only 5 stars because the service IS slow- even for water and extra napkins... and you will need extra napkins!

This is a good place to experience Chicago style pizza for Navy families that are visiting for Graduation at Great Lakes. There are many food options on Grand Ave. What I like: 1. Pizza - Amazing deep dish pizza that I can not find in San Diego. I think it's best eaten when it is first served. I wouldn't want it as a leftover. My favorite topping is sausage and green peppers. I can only eat one and a half slices. I love the crust! 2. The restaurant is nice and clean. 3. The service is friendly and attentive. I don't mind waiting 45 minutes for this pizza. 4. The location is good. It's easy to find. It's close to Gurnee Mills. There's a good size parking lot. It's a safe area.

Woah.... this is filling.... the amount of cheeeese in the pizza is ridiculous!!! So in California, we have Zacharys Chicago-Style Pizza.... but it's sooooo not the same... probably b/c Zachary's is healthier and has way more sauce...but damn this is good stuff! We got the deep dish super veggie one (~$21)and artichoke dip (~$6) as an appetizer. However... 45 minutes is a really long time... so i suggest getting an appetizer, shop around, and come back right on time :)

Can't speak to the deep dish pizza, but after eating the thin crust style here I can say it isn't worth your time. It had almost no sauce on it and the crust was boring. Pass.

If you are a Chicago local you will have your favorite pizza place and there are many and most serve some form of deep-dish. Your choices are Burt's Place, Chicago Pizza and Grinder Comp., Gino's East, Lou Malnoti's, Pizza Uno and Duo, and Giordano's among the more recognized pizza names. The Giordano's pizza place in Gurnee is in a strip mall next to a Starbucks. They offer very good Chicago-style deep-dish pizza. Many varieties and many sizes. All filled with lots of toppings and a thick crust. It is very good pizza, very good.

  • Rich A.

For Deep Dish, I have never had a bad Giordano's. To me, Chicago Deep Dish chains has Gino's and Lou's as 1A and 1B, and Giordano's is #2. Pierro's, a local spot in Highland Park and Northbrook only, is 1C - but now I live out of that area. Giordano's is truly great pizza, and I would have paid thrice the amount of money for this when I lived in Cali and Texas. Giordano's would be #1 in every other US City.

My rating of 5 stars says it all. This pizza is absolutely as good as it gets! If you go here and get anything other than the stuffed pizza then you are missing out. This is the stuff that fills you up after eating only 1/2 piece, but you go on to eat more because it simply tastes so good! I personally prefer the pepperoni (a solid layer of it lies between a 1/2 inch thick layer of mozzarella cheese and the crust...yummy!). Nothing is skimped on in this pizza, no matter what toppings you choose! In our area they take call-ahead orders, which we take advantage of often with our little kids. We call about 45 minutes before we're planning to arrive, and our pizza comes to our table shortly after we've been seated. Makes for a quick and relaxing meal with kids or a group. They also will do take out and delivery.

Visiting Chicago for several days in January for husbands Navy grad and really wanted to try real Chicago deep dish pizza. This place was suggested. Pizza takes about 45 to cook and I remember reading you can call in your order, but didn't, but wished we did. We ordered a small pepperoni stuffed pizza. My daughter ordered fettucine alfredo. Mother in law ordered spaghetti and husband also ordered a buffalo chicken sandwich. Fettucine alfredo was really tasty and good. I didn't taste my mother in laws food, but she said she liked it. Tasted the buffalo chicken sandwich and it was really good also. I would order both of those again. As for the pizza, maybe its me, but I didn't care for it. I think I am a more thinner crust type person. Sorry! Haha. But there was just way too much bread. The crust was too overwhelming. It tasted like pot pie crust which wasn't bad, but way too much bread like I said. Would I order the pizza again? No. My husband liked it, but could only eat one slice. You have to try the pizza for yourself and you be the judge, but there was just too much going on for me. Everything else I did like! Now I can say I've tasted real Chicago deep dish pizza and can check that off my list! Haha.

My husband seems to love their stuffed pizza. I think it's too much dough and sauce. Plus, it takes forever to cook, so call ahead.

giordano's is famous for chicago style stuffed pizza!! i have been wanting to try it for as long as i can remember because i love pizza! i ordered a large pepperoni, mushroom and olive and it ended up being $30!! talk about pricey! but when you feel the weight of this thing, you know you won't be doing much for the rest of the night.. i could only eat one slice of pizza. it was really cheesy and saucey.. the sauce is on top of the pizza and you have to eat it with a fork! definitely something you have to try when you visit chi-town and if you are a pizza lover!

    (5)
  • Ryan B.

I ordered a stuffed crust. It was take-out. The pizza was 80% cheese 15% sauce & meat and 5% crust. It was terrible. The crust stuck to the cardboard piece that the pizza lays on. It tasted okay, but the cheese was overwhelming. The Buffalo Grove location has much better quality. Nex time it's Lou Malnati's for me.

My #1 pizza place in the whole world!! Chicago style dip dish pizza is the BOMB!!! Soooooooo good!!!! This location is ok...smaller than usual, and the staff is a little slow, but I recommend it just because of the food!!!! Yummmmmmmmy!!!!

  • Oscar G.

Great pizza, great service. a little pricey but the pizza is really good. we had the "special" in a small (meant for 2 - 3 people) and we had leftovers for the next night's dinner.

  • Chris D.

My wife and I always stop in for a stuffed pizza whenever we pass through the area. The pizza is always excellent. The stuffed special takes about 45 minutes to make so we always call about an hour ahead and tell them what time we plan to arrive so our pizza always comes out of the oven shortly after we arrive.

    (5)
  • Josh L.

Great pizza as usual. Not a very large Giordano's, but food quality is what I'm after more than atmosphere. And food did not disappoint! Only reason I say it's not good for kids is because of the 45-60 minute wait for a typical deep dish pizza. If they ordered off the kids menu I'm sure it would work out fine.

    (4)
  • Edwin R.

Good pizza! If you're looking for a substitute for Lou Malnati's, this is the place. The pizza took a little longer than we expected (almost an hour) but filled us up with less than two slices AND had some left for takeout.

    (5)
  • Iesha M.

*sigh* I LOVE me stuffed Chicago style pizza! It's so cheesy(hey I'm from Wisconsin) and delicious. Whenever I'm in the area I have to stop by and get some. The staff is friendly and the restaurant is always clean. I always call ahead so I won't have to wait 45 minutes for it to be made. I'm not quite sure how anything else on the menu tastes because I always order just a pepperoni stuffed pizza. That's all I have room for because just one slice fills you up quick. If you love cheese and bread(hello carbs!) just like I do, then Giordano's deep dish is for you.

  • Sam W.

We ordered delivery to avoid the crowd after dealing with people all day at GA. Awesome deep dish and the Italian beef sandwich with hot giardiniera was also good. Bit of a wait but better than sitting in waiting.

  • Martha R.

Great Chicago deep dish pizza! The Greek salad was outstanding. We were there to celebrate my son' s graduation from the Navy Boot Camp as were many the others It was unfortunate that the Sailors who were so excited to come to Giordano were among the few Sailors who were not acknowledged by the restaurant . Other Sailors who eat elsewhere reported having been given a free meal or some sort of discount and a warm greeting from the manager. A little token of appreciation for our men and women in uniform would have made the experience so much better.

  • Maeleen M.

Sorry Chicago deep dish... I just don't like you. I feel my taste-buds would like to give this a 1-star, but that's just unjust. There was nothing wrong with it at all!! I simply don't like the idea of this pie:[ Although not TRULY in Chicago, Giordano's is a chain that does live in central Chicago.... at the time I was in Northern Chicago and the front desk suggested this restaurant for a true Chicago-style deep dish pizza. They conveniently delivered to our hotel quickly! We ordered a "regular" pie and a deep dish... The regular was weird to me... sauce and toppings and then cheese on top... why can't it just be what I'm used to?? Then the deep dish, smart creation! But soooo much CHEESE! So much of everything going on!! Although its contents were yummy, but the sauce was sweet... I would not opt for this style of pizza again. Nothing on you Deep Dish Pizza, I'm just stuck in my own ways. We gave out left-overs to the desk staff and they about kissed us they were so thrilled to be getting Giordano's! So try it especially if you're not a local... perhaps here with you newly graduated Sailor!

  • George S.

Great Chicago deep dish pizza! Lots of cheese cooked in a thick pan made this one of the best pizza's I've had to date. I think the ingredient combination we ordered with onions weakened the potential rich flavor of the pizza a bit, but it was still really good. I would've like a little less sauce for a more firm inside. During my next visit, Instead of ordering a custom pizza I'd like to try one of their signature pizzas. Perhaps their combination will offer the flavor that was mildly lacking in our lunch today.

  • Matthew S.

The pizza was good, very filling. The service was okay; she checked in every now and then, but wasn't in the way. She did seem like she was trying to hustle the patrons out of the restaurant though. Next time I would get the pizza to go.

What can I say, I just didnt like it. It looked super delicious and I was so excited to try my pie, but for me, the taste was abysmal in comparison to its looks. Maybe it was the toppings we ordered, but it just was not doing anything for my taste buds. Sorry Giordano's. Maybe next time!

This is where we take all of our out-of-town guests for authentic Chicago pizza. The pizza is good with a buttery crust and plenty of toppings. I prefer the cheese the best, so I can't really comment on topping ratio or anything like that. If you come, be prepared for a wait -- and just know that that's part of the experience. The pizza itself takes 35 minutes to bake -- but the waiter has always warned us about that when ordering. Also, it's not a huge place, so there will be a wait for a table at the typically busy times. When we go at lunch, we usually get a table right away. If you do have to wait, you can order your pizza at the counter and have it brought to your table... nice!

    (5)
  • Josh T.

Terrible service. Wasn't expecting much and got even less. Pizza was what it was but the service was pretty bad. Almost non-existent presence. Took forever for someone to seat us even though the place was 80% empty. Server was completely indifferent. No checking up on us or taking away plates. Had to ask the bus person for service (she should've gotten the tip). Again, wasn't expecting crazy greatness, just something serviceable but failed on that.

  • Irene V.

I love the food and ambience. It is worth the 10 minutes we had to wait. I bit longer wait to get the food but you can't rush good food. The restaurant is clean and our waitress was very friendly and in the ball. I would definitely come again.

Came here the night of my brother's Navy graduation. Many of the recruits know about this place and come here for pizza before shipping out. The place was pretty busy. If you order a deep dish pizza it takes about 45 minutes to cook. If you know what you would like to order when putting your name on the list you can place your order at the counter so it's ready sooner. This was helpful since we were limited on time. The staff was really nice and the pizza was REALLY good. I'm glad we decided to go. Fed 4 of us for about $25 and still had 2 slices left over. It's also about 15 minutes from the base. Don't forgot the change for the toll!!

I ordered a couple of pizzas, salad, and pop for pick-up. The thin crust and stuffed pizzas were both good. Ingredients were fresh tasting. It was ready in 45 minutes as promised. Pricing is on par with other pizza places. They were nice enough to help me carry everything to the car. This location is in a strip mall and easy to get in/out of & easy to find parking.

I should start by saying that the one-star review is in reference to the service, and not the food. The pizza has been consistently good! My husband and I ate here last night and had terrible service. He purposely chose Giordano's because the pizza takes a while to make and he wanted to sit, chat and have some beers. He only had one before the pizza arrived (which is roughly 45 minutes after you order) because the waitress never checked back in. I finally saw her walk by, so I flagged her down and asked her if she could get him a drink. She casually said "yeah" and walked away like it was a nuisance. When the pizza was delivered, my drink was empty and she didn't offer to refill. She asked if she could serve our first piece, and when I said yes, she held her hand out and stared at me (waiting for me to hand her my plate). She was so unpleasant, that we didn't stay to eat a second piece or get another drink. I don't know why that sort of personality is in the service industry, but it sure makes the experience suck. Also, looking through the reviews- it seems the bad service is an ongoing and consistent issue at this location. There isn't a single management response to the negative reviews either, which shows a lack of interest in improvement.

If you're looking for the best deep dish pizza near Great Lakes, IL, you will find it here. The pizza does take some time to cook (45 minutes), but it was worth every second of waiting. From buttery, flaky crust to gooey fresh cheeses, this "pizza lasagna" as my mother-in-law called it was everything I had hoped for in my first deep dish pizza experience. It was quite filling as well, the two of us couldn't even finish a small pizza. The service was ok, but the pizza itself was 10/10, would definitely recommend.

We were in town for my daughter's Navy Graduation. Came in on a Thursday evening after dinner hours. Got seated right away and server asked us what we wanted to drink. We also had an idea of what we wanted to order knowing from previous reviews that the pizza took 45 minutes. Ordered a variety of appetizers as well, and the were delish! The service was excellent and the pizza was amazing! It's not something I would eat on a regular basis but was a must do while in Chicago! Definitely would recommend.

The worst, zero stars if possible. We waited 25 minutes just to get drinks and order food, our soup also came very late into the order process. I understand it's a Friday night but really, miscommunication about which server has which table? We will not give this place a try ever again.

We stopped in while in the area for our son's graduation from Navy boot camp. We were jonesing for some Chicago deep dish pizza, and these guys didn't disappoint! We ordered a classic deep dish. Being from Washington state, we had no idea that the sauce comes on top. OMG! We were wishing we had more time to go again. I guess we'll have to make another visit to the windy city. Just for the pizza!

Good food but severely understaffed. Service was decent despite the wait. A bit breezy throughout the restaurant, but if you are in the Chicago area definitely a must visit. Appetizers are definitely better than the majority of any comparable restaurant.

Went in at 9:25pm on a Wednesday with some family from Greece and were told by the host that they stop talking tables close to 9:20 to 9:30pm even though the hours of operation stated til 10pm. There was another group that came in and were told the same thing. I told them they should have that posted and he appologized and said it was their unwritten rules. Luckily the host directed us to a Pizzeria UNO down the street. The other group followed us to Pizzeria UNO as well.

After looking at the reviews, I did order my pizza at least 45 mins before I planned to eat. Got there just in time for some hot pizza! Ended up ordering a Super Veggie stuffed pizza, which was quite delicious. Giordano's crust is baked to perfection and has a ton of flavor. Not to mention the friendly staff. I had planned to carryout the pizza, but decided to stay. At which point the waiter made some space, even gave me a drink on the house!

We arrived at 8:20 PM, and were told it was a 10-15 min wait, that sounded okay. Then the hostess took two other parties that arrived after us. We think okay fine, they are placing people according to the size of their parties. Okay, no problem, we're okay with this. Then we get seated at 8:40pm, and had to wait until 8:50 pm for our waitress. We told her we were in a hurry because we had to have our daughter back to the Navy base by 10pm curfew. We ordered our drinks and our pizza right then and there. At 9pm, there was no sign of our waitress or our drinks. The family next to us actually commented on how we were just left sitting there without being taken care of. I stopped a gentleman who was bussing tables and asked him to get the manager. The manager comes over pretty quick and asks what the problem was. I relayed what was going on and the fact that we needed to get Becky back to base by a certain time. He expedited our drinks and then went to look about our pizza, at that time I reminded him we were really in a hurry now, and that I would like to pay for our food and drinks as soon as possible. He delivered out pizza and our check simultaneously letting me know that he deducted 20% from the tab as a gesture of good will to offset the inconvenience. But, when I looked at the check, I noticed that the discount was labeled "uniformed discount", which means we could have had that discount anyways considering I'm a card carrying officer in the US Army, and my daughter is a brand new sailor wearing her uniform while out on liberty. I've never been treated this poorly ever. It is a rare thing that happens, but I couldn't tell you the last time I absolutely refused to leave a tip. I actually wrote "None" on the check. Neither the waitress or the manager ever came back to check on us. No one asked us if we wanted a refill on our drinks. The manager never came back to see if we liked the pizza. A different waiter picked up the check to process my card, without so much as we hope you enjoyed the food. I don't care how good the food is, when you dine out you are really paying for service. That waitress passed up on a 20% or higher tip, especially since we told her we were in a hurry. If she had been worth her salt and taken care of us with the respect we were due, she would have had a great tip. That manager sucks at his job as he didn't ensure the errors in service where rectified. And by the looks of the number of reviews that mention the poor service management doesn't care that they have developed a bad / poor reputation for customer service. One day this might bite them in the butt at a later date. The pizza was one of the best I have ever had, but it was not worth being treated like a piece of "Cr*p"!! This is my second trip to the Chicago area and we really like the area and plan on many more trips, but I can tell you I/we will never frequent this particular Giordanos every again, as a matter of fact, eating at Chucky Cheeses would have been a better experience. We never saw that waitress again the rest of the time we were there. The food was worth 4 stars, but the crappy service was worth a negative 4 and unfortunately I cant give them anything less than one Star, otherwise I would have given them a big fat zero!!!

This place is good but is not to die for. I like how homey it is and the waitress was very nice. You have to wait about 45 minutes if you want deep-dish pizza. My group got the meaty meat one. Our group had to be separated though... If we wanted to sit (6 of us) together, then it would be another 45 minutes just to sit.

Unlike my great review for the Rosemont location, my first and only visit here was not as pleasant. The food was equally as great as any of their other locations. However, service was a bit slow. I was in a bit of a hurry after we had finished and wanted to go ASAP, but after 10 minutes or so I went to the front to pay. I was told I had to wait for the server. After waiting another five minutes I had waited long enough and told them either to take my payment or I was leaving....of course they took it.

In town for a visit and always wanted to try Chicago's famous deep dish pizzas. We found this guy only 5-10 minutes from our hotel and ordered a large pepperoni, green pepper, onion and mushroom deep dish pizza with a chicken Caesar salad Togo. The pizza was like a double decker pizza. Definitely has my thumbs up.

Ordered 3 pizzas to go. Called in at 3:15 for a 5:15 pickup. We showed up and the manager was the guy who did our checkout, he came back and said the pizzas were not ready (at 5:18) at it would be another 15-20 mins. I complained and mentioned we called 2 hours ahead and he said well the ticket says 5:45 and walked away. No apology!! Had to have backup come in and complain, they didn't take me seriously because I'm young!!! Then another guy said we called back and told them to switch the time. No one called and asked them to change the time!!! We had 10 people waiting at home for the pizza so we had no other choice but to wait. The pizza was finished a little after 5:45. Overall the staff and manager were very rude!!!

1 star for food - the salad, not the pizza (Note: I did not order Deep Dish tonight) 1 star for service As I'm *WAY* up North of Chicago - it's almost impossible to even say "Northern Suburbs" (considering I went to school in Evanston) when I'm farther north than even Lake Forest or Lake Bluff - not to mention 20-30 minutes away, then west. Given this, I was stoked for the familiarity of Giordano's (even if I prefer Lou Malnati's [I didn't want to drive to Libertyville tonight]). Since I got off work a bit later and was dining alone (vs. with my colleagues), I was grateful to my server for informing me that Deep Dish takes 35 minutes to cook. So I opted to try a flat bread (I know, I know - totally unacceptable at a Chicago-style pizza joint - I'll agree with you), but why not? I ordered the spinach, artichoke, and feta flatbread. It was terrible. Greasy. Oily. Dripping. Did I mention it was smothered in mozarella (?). The vegetables were nearly worthless - hidden under heaps of cheese (another reason I ordered this instead of deep dish was in an effort to eat "healthier"). Even the feta was elusive! It was drenched. And the crust was *FAR* too crunchy - near impossible to bite and chew, or cut with a knife. Way too over-cooked - or re-heated? It was poorer quality than some of the Amy's microwave pizzas I buy at Whole Foods. Far inferior than Beau Jo's: yelp.com/biz/beau-jos-pi… (Colorado-style pizza, awww yeah, home state!). And definitely not like the flat breads at Beretta in SF: yelp.com/biz/beretta-san… What I did like - mostly - was the salad. (Protip: request the dressing on the side.) I ordered a starter size of Giordano's House Salad: spring lettuce mix, romaine lettuce, tomatoes, arugula, escarole, radicchio lettuces and fresh fennel tossed in a light lemon vinaigrette and topped with shaved parmesean cheese. DELICIOUS! But also: drenched. Having had the deep dish multiple times before, I'd change my rating to a 3 or 3.5 stars - perhaps - although, since I haven't been back to try it since 2008 or so, and I haven't ever eaten Chicago-style at this location, I'm staying strong with my 2 stars. What can I say? Since I travel so much around the country, I need to normalize my reviews. It's only fair - statistically.

Terrible waiter!!! Had a coupon for free appetizer from signing up for their email program but he refused to honor because it was on my phone and not printed. Really??? Pizza is absolutely fantastic. Couldn't ask for a better pizza. We also had the cheese bread and we were planning rock, paper , scissors for the last peace lol. Service was ok.

First off only downside was there's not enough booths and kinda cramped. Service.. was fair. 3 stars.. Food. Wings were on the bone and really good .

Good pizza! If you're looking for a substitute for Lou Malnati's, this is the place. The pizza took a little longer than we expected (almost an hour) but filled us up with less than two slices AND had some left for takeout.

We ordered delivery to avoid the crowd after dealing with people all day at GA. Awesome deep dish and the Italian beef sandwich with hot giardiniera was also good. Bit of a wait but better than sitting in waiting.

The pizza was good, very filling. The service was okay; she checked in every now and then, but wasn't in the way. She did seem like she was trying to hustle the patrons out of the restaurant though. Next time I would get the pizza to go.

Went to this place for the first time a few days ago with 3 other family members and loved their food! Their family appetizer was generous and worth the money as well as their stuffed pizzas! Nothing but Love from me!

If you do have to wait, you can order your pizza at the counter and have it brought to your table... nice!

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
