Trivia here is pretty fun, and the food is very good. I've had Irish Stew (took 2 sittings to finish, fantastic), and the Blackened Cod Salad (Cod on top of caesar salad, also fantastic) Would highly recommend to people visiting or living in Glenview. Their beer selection could be better though. Only the typical four Irish beers in their Ireland department.

This restaurant is one of the warmest, coziest places in Glenview for a meal, particularly on a cold winter night. The rooms are attractively decorated with a glowing fireplace and the seating is comfortable and uncrowded. Our meal was attended to nicely by our waitress and the price was appropriate for an Irish pub. I ordered a pint of Guinness - excellent brew with a nice head and served in an attractive glass. I go to a restaurant for a good meal, so the pluses above must be matched by the quality of the food in order for the place to earn 5 stars from me. I ordered the corned beef and cabbage. You would think that if an Irish pub could make one dish well, it would be the corned beef and cabbage. Think again. I can't say that my dish was bad - it wasn't bad - but the mashed potatoes were not warm enough and the cabbage was dry and unappetizing. Interestingly, the cabbage was of a type that I didn't recognize with some sort of filigree leaves. Now, maybe this stuff was shipped in directly from Ireland (and I'm no expert on the dish itself) but I was quite disappointed that half the entree was so bland. The beef itself was mostly tasty with a good, but sparing, sauce on it but when I got to a piece below the pile on the plate, I was faced with a tough gristle-like texture which I couldn't cut, let alone eat. That piece should have been discarded by the chef instead of sneaking it onto the plate. I won't judge this place too severely because I had one less than noteworthy dish and there are many other items on the menu which I can pick from on my next visit, but I have to ask this question: when are these north suburban restaurants going to learn to focus on the food instead of the ambience? My house is warm and cozy too but the reason I'm eating out is to find a tasty dish that I can't make as well or as easily at home.

This is their 3rd location in Chicago along with Edison Park and Skokie. I live within walking distance of the Skokie location and frequent it quite often. The Glen location is much bigger, with an expanded menu and draft beer selection. The remodel of the previous establishment is first class, with lots of wood details and a nice 2-sided fireplace in the center of the restaurant. Our server was very attentive even though we were seated right after a group of about 15 women in her area. The manager also noticed and came to bring us our drink orders because she was in the middle of taking orders at the large table - nicely done! They have almost 30 beers on tap with a lot of local craft choices along with a good sampling of premium imports - which is what I prefer. The food is solid, consistent, and in-line with the other locations. However, there are more choices here with items like rueben rolls and fresh oysters. A nice addition to the Glen.

Another Friday visit to The Curragh. Was supposed to be the boys and I, but the ladies wanted in too. We called ahead and they were able to accommodate the 11 of us. The restaurant was jumping. Very busy. The experience was really A++. Supurb night. With this many people, I got to see a lot of different food choices. Everyone liked what they ordered. The appitizers consisted of (kids) cheese sticks. Wow did they look good. Freshly made. Authentic. The corned beef rolls looked fantastic too. The chicken nachos... wow..... to bad it was Friday in lent, so I chose to NOT enjoy the super looking appitizers. It didn't really matter, because with 8 kids....there wasn't much left. I got the fish n'chips. Wow.... AWSOME tasting dinner. The fish, the tarter sauce, the (steak) fries. Perfection, filling, one of the best. Cooked perfectly.... We didn't take much home. The desert consisted of the brownie with scoop of ice cream. Luckily the Waiter told us about the size. We split hit his desert between 3 people. It was still too much. Great brownie. Ok... In a nutshell. The food was great. The service rocked (thanks Colin). The band was a perfect touch.... Welcome to the neighborhood Curragh.... Really glad you settled here. I will see you again soon.

We just had a retirement dinner for my Father on Saturday night, 12 adults,1 teenager and 5 little ones. After reading a few of the reviews on Yelp, I must say, I was a little hesitant about going.(Over cooked food, pricey drinks, bad staff). Well I guess that's why everyone is entitled to their own opinion. We started out with drinks and apps( My mother pre-ordered a few apps for when everyone showed up) with no wait time at all, very nice and impressive. My brother-in-law and I decided to order a full order of Oysters, they were so good we ordered more, horseradish sauce was top notch, perfect heat and taste. As far as dinner goes, the wait staff was excellent on making sure the little ones had their food out first so they weren't waiting long and getting antsy and bored and doing what kids to best, annoying others patrons. I'm not sure what every adult ordered but we did have a nice mixture of everything,3 Fish and Chips, Shepherd's Pie, Corned Beef Sand, Smoked Salmon, Salmon dinner, Rueben and not sure about the others. I was one of the ones that ordered Fish/Chips, why not I'm Irish and I'm in a Irish restaurant. I thought my dinner was great, nice crispy outside and nice and moist and fluffy on the inside, very pleased I ordered it. As far as everyone else, I've heard no complaints. Overall, very pleased with the experience and will return again with just my family.

Received a passive aggressive response from a representative of the establishment. Don't shoot the messenger. I am sorry I don't care for the hamburgers at your restaurant and yes it is $6 for a revolution IPA pint. Walked in today for a beer, real funky smell. Check the drains or something. Sorry in advance for stating my opinion.

Thanks for the prompt response to my latest review Paul. It shows how dedicated you are to the Curragh. Wish you were a fly on the wall and could see some of the snarly attitudes of a few employees. Just get tired of looking in and seeing who's tending bar and having to move on. One regular bartender seems flustered when busy and snaps off at staff and customers. Don't appreciate the condescending attitude and comments. He should be older and wiser. So immature. Thanks for your reply and I wish the Curragh success!

First time here. I had the ribeye and it was pretty big and tasty with some salt n pepper for $21 can't beat it. Wife had a lamb stew for $14 and she was very impressed with it. Caesar salad before dinner was plentiful and tasty dressing. We will be back again.

Do not come here to watch the Bears' game; This is a Packers bar. All of the bigger TVs were on the Packers' game, even though the Bears were playing at the same time. The audio throughout the entire restaurant was on the Packers. I asked the manager if there was a way to change it, but it clearly wasn't done since it's a Packers' bar. The food is pretty good, but the service was just alright.

We ended up at The Curragh on a chilly(for July!) evening after seeing it while walking around The Glen recently. This was a great place to end up, and a great addition to the Glen. That explains why the place got so busy, even on a Wednesday night. Drinks - they have a great selection of beers and ciders available, including a bunch of local breweries, to go along with all the standards you might expect at an Irish pub. Pricing on the drinks was a little high, which is one of the couple little things keeping the Curragh from five stars. Service was pretty good throughout most of the dinner, but our server started looking a little frazzled toward the end of our dinner as business was picking up. That didn't keep him from doing a good job of taking care of us. Food - we just started with some spinach artichoke dip since it was friendly for both the vegetarian in the group, as well as the little one. It was pretty good. The entrees were fantastic, though. The salmon sandwich looked great, the fish was cooked perfectly, and got some rave reviews. The ribs my wife got were literally falling off the bone when they came out, and were very tasty. The sauce was a crowd pleaser, but a little sweet for my personal taste. I had the corned beef and cabbage boxty - yes, please! A more than generous portion of corned beef and cabbage in a tasty sauce, all dished up in a big boxty (potato pancake). And, in case that wasn't enough food, they pile more of the filing on top. Even the vegetable side that came with it was good - bonus points for the veg being cooked but still maintaining a little crunch. Too many times I have been subjected to overcooked, mushy veg. Overall - The Curragh will be a place we go back to again, either for drinks/apps; or even dinner. Just a couple little hiccups keep that 5th star away for now, but still, a great place with fantastic food!

It's with sadness that I give the Curragh a 1 star. I have been coming to the Glenview location since it opened last year and have been going to the Skokie and Park Ridge locations for years. The only reason they are getting such a low rating is for service. The last 4 times I've cone here, the lack of prompt and responsive service has been a rarity. If you come here (at any time), be prepared to wait for a long time before a waitstaff person comes to ask you what you want...and be prepared to get a dirty glass. This is the 3rd establishment in this slot in the Glen and if the Curragh doesn't change their service to the customers, it'll be the 3rd bat/restaurant that will be forced to close their doors in that space.

The ambiance is what makes this place so fantastic. And the tap selection. And the friendly service. We thought the menu was just a little limited when we went in, but they had just opened and I forgot to ask if the menu might be expanded later. We just had soup and drinks to celebrate St Patty's Day. The location is perfect in The Glen and they have both local and traditional beers. Of course, you can go up the street to the Yardhouse and get a better tap selection. But, it not as warm an friendly. (The bartenders spent considerable time with us.) And, I really place a lot of emphasis on ambiance and this restaurant got it right. It is a nice addition to the Restaurant scene in The Glen. This review doesn't really reflect the food so much, but I will update is as I return and try new menu items. Five stars means I would return again and again. This is a place I plan on frequenting.

I had the corned beef and cabbage ... and it was delightful! Very good quality and it was better than I expected. The sauce was rich and delicious and the corned beef was tender and flavorful. The bread pudding was better than most bread puddings I have had. Most of the patrons were stealing glances at television during the evening. Sometimes you want to get away from television.

After my prior review I was contacted by management in effort to fix the issues I had. This shows me the management and owners truly care and want this to be a great restaurant. I will be back, the food is always great and I believe any service issues will now be resolved.

It's not terrible. There's a good selection of beer and service is good. Patti, behind the bar is wonderful but the reason I give them 3 stars is the food was just ok. I ordered a house side salad with my fish and chips. I saw the fish and chips on its way to me when it was stopped so they could send the salad ahead, which meant my fish and chips stood out for a few more minutes. It was just warm when it got to me. The batter was good but the fish was tasteless. The fries were good. Fortunately I ordered a side of curry sauce which was surprisingly tasty. Overall a solid 3 stars. Nothing to rave about but I would come back. ******************************** Ok this is one for the record books. Moments after posting my review, even before finishing my meal, Paul, the owner contacted me. He graciously offered to make up for my less than stellar first impression and then sent over a manager who comped my meal. Customer service like this is rare indeed. They have earned a fan! During the course of all this I decided to have the bread pudding for desert. It was probably the best I have ever eaten. Amazing!

Went for beers and a Hawks game. Great hockey crowd at the rail and the Hawks won. Given my Michigan connections I wished they'd had a Founders IPA available I didn't love the beer selection. Not awful just not awesome.

Walked in and were seated quickly. After 10 minutes, we were brought water which the host held at the rim of the glass. I'm not a germaphobe, but that's pretty gross and basic knowledge in serving. Another 15 minutes passes and the waiter finally takes our order. Another 30 minutes passes and the food arrives. It felt like we could have flown to Ireland and back before we got our food. Food is mediocre. Nothing mind blowing.

First time ever having A Boxty and boy was if good. Wings had a lot of flavor and were generous in size. Traditional Irish feel in Chicagoland suburbia. Solid service and a visit from the Manager. All good.

All I can say is wow. I've been to many an Irish pub and this one nails it. The beer is great and they know how to pour it. The corned beef is phenomenal and the fish and chips can't be topped. My only critique is the lack of Irish nachos, but I suppose I'll let it slide as everything else is far above par. Definitely a must go if you're in the glen area or on the border about going!!!

Okay, so after I wrote my last review, I got a follow up message from a Paul L., who is part owner of The Curragh at the Glen. He explained to me that my negative review was taken quite seriously and that he would appreciate a second opportunity to "win me over". After much procrastination, I headed in with another couple to check it out. I would like to start off by saying that the food here would warrant 5 stars! It was absolutely outstanding. I have now tried the Dungarvan Salmon, Chicken Boxty, Shepherd's pie, Corned beef and cabbage and all were phenominal. The salmon was my favorite. The spinach artichoke was also a great starter with the IPA selection they had. I, however, had trouble with the service for the second time. This is what brings the rating down. We never got our soup (which is also terrific) and was charged for this and a beer that I never received. It was difficult to get our waiter or anyone from the staff for that matter, and it took way too long. This was a semi-busy Saturday night, they had a decent crowd but tables were still available at walk in. I would have loved to try some of their oysters, or maybe the homemade bread pudding and a cup of coffee, but just couldn't deal with the additional 40 minutes it would have taken. They had live music which was really authentic and added to the ambiance. All-in-all, the Curragh lacks the managment that is necessary for customer satisfaction. I am impressed by the owners engagement towards his goal to become an elite restaurant in the ever competitive Glen, and have no doubt he will do so once he irons out these dreadful kinks of poor managemnt.

Manager Lydia failed to honor the Yelp coupon without an explanation, yet she sat at the bar back turned to us and didn't even have the decency to come and talk to us. Rude and unprofessional, we won't be back.

Great new restaurant & bar in the Glen. Easy parking...I have been there 4 times for lunch and each time the service and food was 5 star quality. Staff is very friendly and the manager Chris is awesome! Great atmosphere too! Invited my sister& Mom to meet me for lunch (they live in Rolling Meadows) said they would be back it's definitely worth the drive!

Parking is terrible & minimal for handicap. I went with a party of 20 for lunch. We had reservations. We were in a section like a room but with no doors. The noise factor was terrible. Nothing to deaden or absorb noise. Could hardly hear waiter or he us. The tables were thoughtlessly arranged, so we didn't really feel like a group but rather like you were dining with the few people in close proximity that you had to keep asking, what did you say ? There were several food & drink mistakes & drinks that were never received. I got the Irish Stew. The lamb was dry & tough & not much of it. There were however 3 large potato halves & some carrots, with a lot of the gravy. I think $14.00 for the bowl I got was outrageous. I don't believe there was $4.00 worth of ingredients. The taste wasn't very good either, bland. The person across from me had the same thing & there was considerably more in her bowl, but she complained there were hardly any vegetables other than potatoes. I had Black Bean soup that was a clear broth soup for an additional $2. It was nothing to rave about. I originally got the potato soup by mistake. It tasted awful. I ordered tea, that came in the cutest "little" pot, that only held 1 cup of water. That was $2.50. So for $20.12, I got a lot of nothing that was blah tasting. That rates more than 2 dollar signs in my book. I would rate it $$$ for what you are getting for your money. After waiting for the entire lunch for dishes to be cleared from the table, & clearing some myself, I had to ask repeatedly to get them cleared. Bus device is the worst I have ever seen anywhere & I was in wait service for 30 years ! We had to ask for checks & wait forever for them & then wait for what was really forever to get them back. The waiter was very polite & tried to be good but was clearly nervous & overwhelmed. He had been given other tables besides us that were in the furthest corner of the restaurant from where we were. A recipe for failure even for the best of wait staff. This was clearly due to poor decisions by management for the day ! The restaurant wasn't even that busy thank God, or we might have gotten less service than we did. As it was, Lunch took a miserable 2 hours to finish. There were quite a few food complaints by others in my party, with only a few compliments. Also mistakes on the checks.

Good location Decent menu and a very welcoming. I love the food, the atmosphere and very good beer.. I love the fireplace and it is like a home away from home kind of a place . You want a hamburger go to Charley Binlick's, but everything else is very good.

I originally said that the yelp deal was fantastic. But I went with a friend on 8/4 and our yelp deal was not honored by one of the managers, this was after a different manager had accepted it. Little confusing and the manager who denied the coupon didn't bother clarifying with us, leaving me and my friend with a bill that was unexpectedly high. The experience was disheartening and I'll definitely just keep going to Ra instead.

Stopped in for a quick lunch in the midst of weekend errands. Had heard good things from others but they didn't do this place justice. Simply the best sandwiches ever...T.B.A. and Classic Curragh Reuben. Try them out!!!

Sorry, but I disagree with the other raters and clearly don't believe that this is a five star restaurant. It has a long way to go before it earns five stars. My four star rating includes a "benefit of a doubt" element as I very much want it to be a successful alternative to the Yard House (which, at this point, is much better but very hard to get into at prime time). First the positives. The decor is unique and inviting. The service was competent and responsive. The menu choices are definitely classic Irish fare. I wish there were other virtues that I could extol, but there are a number of opportunities for improvement. When we arrived on Saturday, the host had that deer in the headlights look as we were trying to decide whether we wanted to sit at the bar or at a table. We prefer to sit at the bar and watch the games, but didn't want to sit at the far end with the beer taps blocking our view. Who knew that there was a second bar? Management may want to consider encouraging the host/hostesses to be more friendly and describe the layout of the restaurant (and the fact that there is a second bar). The beer selection is OK, but not great. But at a minimum, the beer menu should specify the type of beer. Not just "Harp" but "Harp (Lager)" not just "Goose Island Green Line", but "Goose Island Green Line (Pale Ale)". It would be even better if they told me a little more about each beer to help me with my selection...where it is brewed and other information unique to the specific beer selection. Regarding the food, I had fish and chips and my sweetie had a chicken sandwich. Both the fish and the chips should be crispy and the Curragh's are not. Double fry perhaps? My sweetie remarked that the chicken sandwich was fine, but nothing to rave about. Certainly, not "five star" quality. It is difficult for any restaurant to hit its stride after only one week and I will certainly be returning. But I had higher expectations and the Curragh fell short of those expectations on my first visit.

The best restaurant on the Glen strip to have freshly prepared meals , especially breakfast / just had a breakfast burrito "to die for." Don't forget to try the cheesestick /freshly made the minute you order them.

I had a very, very poor experience here one time, HOWEVER I have visited a number of times since and they have really turned things around. The service has been fast and friendly. I'm glad to see that new restaurant takes feedback seriously and dies something about it. Bravo! Paul reached out to me directly and as I did not see his message he kept after it. I think the place is in good hands.

I had a previous lets just say issue here but once Paul the owner found out he did everything that he could do to resolve. My cousin Dianne went back in there and we had the best time. We split a Reuben sandwich that was to die for and each had side Caesar salads. Yum. Paul, the staff was wonderful not only to us but everyone that was in the restaurant. Thanks for rectifying the situation. We told everyone at a dinner party that they needed to go here.

Finally, finally, FINALLY, The Curragh opens at The Glen. Delayed from an originally slated September opening, they finally took in their first customer the Thursday leading into Saint Patrick's Day weekend. An Irish Pub, completely new staff, opening at the busiest time of the year, If that isn't trial by fire, I don't know what is. One of the managers, Chris, took a lot of pride in showing me around the place when I was on my way out. When I was there, the stage was empty. If you haven't enjoyed a mid-day meal with live Irish music, you haven't lived. There's a small raised area enclosed by a barrier you could only call 3 foot fence, with an opening for the musicians to get up and down. On days with no music, they can put a table or two in the spot. The sound system is controllable so it can be piped, or not, into every nook and cranny, by use of an app they run off a Kindle (surprised he didn't say Android, but I pay attention to things like this.) He then took me through the rooms, to the back bar area, a couple of dining rooms, and their club member room, which looks ideal for a meeting or a get-together. Since that room is decorated with full bottles of classic Irish Whiskeys, I'm not sure how anyone could actually conduct a meeting there, but they have a big screen TV on the wall just the same. About the televisions, by the way. Yes, they have them, one per room. It's not a sports bar, and they're fairly discrete. I saw it, and it didn't affect the feel of the place much. Chris was also very excited about their beer chilling system for the 25 brands that they carry on tap that keeps it at 29 degrees into your glass, but the stuff I drink at an Irish pub doesn't want to be that cold, so I didn't pay a lot of attention. But it's pretty high-tech. On to my food! First review is, of course, Irish breakfast. It's a high protein feast, with eggs, tomato, bacon rashers, bangers, white and black pudding, and beans. Really good with Guinness. It came out of the kitchen in record time, and everything was perfect, except the rashers. They were slightly overdone. Irish bacon is like a Canadian bacon, it's supposed to be supple, these were a little small and crinkled around the edges. I didn't send them back, but if they come out looking a little small again, I would. I loved the creamy consistency and flavor of the bangers. Black and white pudding were delicious, but if you haven't had black pudding before, eat it first, then ask what it is. You'll like it. For dessert, I tried the bread pudding. Again, perfectly done. Al dente, with again a kind of whiskey-flavored creaminess. I also wanted to comment that the servers and busboys very efficient. My server in particular, Janet, was fast, friendly, and helpful. Rounding up from 4 1/2 stars, but they'll have to earn the 5 my next trip there.

Had dinner here on Sunday with the family and this place needs some work. First, the Guinness was poured poorly and served at the wrong temperature according to my stepdad. Then our appetizers came out and were delicious but literally 30 seconds after bringing the apps out they brought out our entrees! Some time to enjoy the apps would have been nice. Also my mom ordered the beer cheese soup but after receiving apps and entrees that hadn't come so we cancelled it. We brought the issue up to the server who shrugged and walked away and then acted like he was doing a favor not charging us for the soup that didn't come. The food was really good but they need to work on timing and service. It's a shame cause we really wanted to like this place.

We visited The Curragh on a Saturday night around 6:30pm. It was busy but our party of 4 was seated quickly. The World Cup soccer tournament was on the TV's so the crowd was a little louder than normal. Our server did a nice job and we ordered and were served our drinks quickly. We ordered the chicken nachos and they were very good. Our party of 4 ordered the following: Blackened Cob Salad Reuben Full slab of Ribs Turkey/Avocado sandwich The Reuben was the best of our order. The meat was thinly sliced and prepared well. The Cob salad was very good and prepared well. The ribs were good and the Turkey sandwich was also very good. A nice touch was that Chris the manager stopped by to make sure all was right in our world and helped the server with whatever was needed. This is a relatively new bar in town and we will return.

Get some great beers. They have outstanding home made cheese sticks cut from blocks of cheese. I am not a cheese stick fan and these are darn good. Shepardson Pie good and they have a great selection of staple beers and a rotation of craft beers

Hamburger and fries quite good. Trying to get a second glass of water took determination on my part. The Italian dessert was awful/horrible. Three of us were going to share it, but it was so dry we almost choked. This occurred at 5:00 on a Saturday when they were not crowded. This dessert is suppose have a great deal of ice cream. The chocolate was non existent.

I LOVE THIS PLACE! I'm sorry but I respectfully disagree with Otto A. I was in the restaurant industry for almost 10 years before becoming a nurse....and you just don't give someone one star just for a mistake on one dish. Granted yes, it is unfortunate that you received a well done burger. But have you ever cooked something that didn't turn out perfect? Give them a break, they just opened. And knowing the restaurant industry, they probably comped their meal AND offered them something else. Don't be stubborn. No one is perfect and if that ruins someone time then they shouldn't come out to eat. Personally, I had the corned beef and cabbage boxty as per the manager, Chris's, recommendation. OMG! It was absolutely to die for. It was savory and the corned beef was perfectly tender - not too chewy. My mom had the fish and chips, which also melts in your mouth. The coleslaw and veggies were flavorful yet crispy. Perfect. Also, the Moscow mules have real ginger beer. And anyone who knows Moscow mules...you'll know that's the only way to make them. The beer selection is great. And honestly, think about the location of the Glen. It's not a cheap area, so don't expect to pay for a cheap time. Yet it is still reasonably priced for what you get. The ambience is even better, they have a stage for live music to be played at night and the decor is reminiscent of a true Irish pub! It's a great place for anyone of any age (yes they have a kids menu). The bartender Brian is AMAZING and so personable and our server, Lauren, was adorable. She was so kind and recommended great drinks and appetizers. The staff is very attentive and wanted to make sure we were happy with everything....and we were! I will most certainly be back and I would recommend this place for anyone who would want efficient service and great food. Finally! A place that should stick around here on that lonely Glen Town Center corner!

The shepards pie was delicous. The service was a little slow but Im sure that is not a common occurence.
Tried it again and much better this time. Waitress and staff were very attentive, Brought our order in a very timely fashion even with the place being extremely crowded! Had the smoked salmon appetizer which we enjoyed along with the Portabello mushroom sandwich and the Fish and Chips. All were very tasty. The best part of the evening was how great our waitress was. Glad to see the place has improved!

This place is awful... Except for the awesome guy playing the music, he's extremely talented. We were seated, server (her name was Gigi maybe?) took about ten minutes to get to us, brought our first drinks and then we ordered food (appetizer and salad) that two of us were sharing. Food came (not by her), with one plate, no silverware, and no napkins. Server was nowhere to be found, I eventually just went up to the bar and asked a bartender. Food was terrible (see attached photo of "rueben rolls"). Rueben rolls were pure oil, with almost no filling, and were flattened like quesadillas, and the thousand island was so tangy we couldn't even eat it. Such a disappointment. We stayed for another 1.5 hours (5 more people joined our table, not eating) and it took the server another 20 mins just to come by. We would have only stayed for a little bit, but she was nowhere to be found so we could get our check, and then she didn't even know what we ordered? Very frustrating, unprofessional, and total buzzkill. Wouldn't return even if someone paid me.

Service was spot on,5star..the sliders 4star,I thought 5 star. wife said 3 star...fish and chips, fish was 4 star chips had to be sent back we both thought they were under cooked..Rueben 2star at best corn beef was tender with little flavor, 1000 dressing again 2star at best, and the sauerkraut was not rinsed in my opinion..Grandpa's Place down the street has a 6 star Rueben that is cheaper in price..the home made chips 2star ( the happ inn homemade chips are much better. The wife had a soup that was 5 star I mean she loved it..and 6.75 for a 20oz. Guinness seems just the perfect price. house wine was 9 bucks a glass..would I go back yes for now to try something else, with luck my next review will go up to 4 star. But truthfully I would never again order the Rueben..

Significantly better than most pubs I have been to. Really terrific food and a very nice restaurant. Service was terrific and parking is very easy. I've been here at least 10 times in the past few year for weekend brunch, lunch and dinner. I've had the Kale Salad, Grilled Tuna, Burger, Turkey Club, Seafood Pasta... are are great. And, they have a very good craft and local beer selection.

Sunday was my first time at the pub. The nachos were plentiful and fresh. My friend had a gorgeous Rueben, and I had the bangers and mash. His sandwich disappeared quickly; my only lament was that the bangers and mash should have a stone ground mustard out with it. We got that rectified, and all was right with the world. Beer selections are okay, but given the number of excellent beer producers in Chicago it would behoove them to carry more different lines that Revolution+a couple of one offs. Ditch the imports entirely - they aren't that good and you have tons of local brew readily available. Service for the most part was very friendly and prompt, save for a period of time where our server disappeared after our mains came out. I wanted my mustard :-( Overall, a good experience I would repeat.

BRUNCH REVIEW oh my gosh. Best French toast evah! I'm stranded in a hotel for the foreseeable future and I love breakfast foods. Illinois lacks diners. Enter the Curragh. Who would have thought they would have some of the best French toast I have ever eaten, and I am from The land of Diners. The bread is thick, the batter is sweet, and the toast holds up well under syrup. It's actually perfect. It is priced reasonably and I am only sad because it is only available on the weekends. I usually order to go because it hasn't been crowded when I've stopped in. People, please come here for brunch. You will not regret it.

Note: in the warmer weather months, check out the outdoor seating here! Perfect for people watching in the Glen! Came in recently with a couple coworkers for a mid-week happy hour around 4:30 to enjoy a non-60 degree summer day. I enjoyed my strawberry basil martini, and I believe Wednesdays are $7 martini night. Service was attentive on this visit. We shared the following bites. - chicken nachos: not a whole lot of chicken, chips didn't taste the freshest, and I longed a little bit for the Yardhouse's version. I liked the kick of the jalapenos on the plate though! - sliders: nice presentation on this one, but D noticed a hair in hers before taking her first bite! Not very appetizing. When told, the manager quickly took the plate away and replaced our order. It's evident that the management cares. - profiteroles: this version was spongey and lemony without any ice cream or filling, but rather whipped cream and chocolate sauce on top. It wasn't my cup of tea, so I would pass on this dessert.

I really like this place....a lot. Our annual Christmas Crawl had dinner here after a round of drinks at The Yard House and we loved it. Right when we walked in, we were greeted with a smile and seated in a separate room big enough for our party. The tables were already prepped for us, but the staff moved the tables around to how we wanted them...very nice! The atmosphere is very cozy, equipped with fireplaces, dark wood finishing, and authentic Irish decorations all over. Our two servers were wonderful. They didn't mind (or didn't seem to mind) that nearly every person in our party couldn't make up their mind when ordering. It all looked good! The food was great...I got....a burger (no $#?!). It was realllllly good. Big. Juicy. Fresh. Salty, crispy fries. Mmmm. Ashley got an awesome salad that I finished after she was full. Their beer selection is huge and prices are great for the quality and location. They also have a great check in offer that Ashley and I used on a separate occasion. Hard to believe they need to utilize Groupon for sales, but maybe word just hasn't gotten out yet how great this place is! Can't wait to go back!

Love this place! If you enjoy great ambiance, muscles, great beer choices, and amazing burgers, look no further! The Dublin Burger is by far the best on Tower drive.

I was in town with family over the holidays and they got a sitter so we could have a "grownup night out" with a nice meal. As someone obsessed with food, I was pumped! Until they selected this place as our destination. Seriously? In Chicago, with so much good food? Ok.... It was pretty much what I expected. Bar food, not many creative options on the menu. It is good for what it is - everyone seemed happy with their food. But hard to find anything vegetarian or healthy. I tried to embrace it. The fries were excellent. My cobb salad was alright. Service was attentive. They had a great band playing in the bar, and interesting beer selection. Three stars means A-OK, four is "yay, I'm a fan!"....there wasn't anything bad about this place but I can't really declare myself a fan of a place in a luxury strip mall that primarily serves meat and beige foods. If I could do 3.5 I would. 3 as a restaurant, 4 as a bar.

The calamari was very good and came out super quick. The beer soup was not very good. The burgers took over an hour to be brought to us. The food was good but I'm not sure if I would come here again based on the super long wait.

First time in, I literally did not set foot in the venue, it was such a nice day outside I never made it past the outdoor patio. I was greeted by no less than five or six different people who worked there, so friendly bunch. The big tip here is free appetizer with Yelp check in and additional purchase, so definitely take advantage of this offer. I opted for free nachos and followed with a few beers. I was here during the final game between Argentina and Germany. Interesting to note, across the street at El Jardin, there is apparently a five second delay between El Jardin crowd reaction and Curragh crowd reaction. We sat oustide and counted it off, we are easily amused ;) They have drink specials, on Sunday it was mimosa and bloody mary $5. I will definitely return to explore both the venue and the menu further, from what I saw of the menu the prices were very reasonable.

I have visited many times and usually a creepy guy with a ponytail is behind the bar. He seems to always have a bad attitude and on many occasions my friends and I will hear him make rude remarks about other customers in there. Our last visit there was last week, and it was quite refreshing to see someone else behind the bar. She was very sweet and we felt at ease there. She said her name was Megan and I definitely suggest asking for her whenever she's there! Great service from her! Hopefully she's the replacement for that very mean man.

I have been here a few times this past year, and just have a few little notes. First and foremost, the food here is great, everything from the pot pie to the salads are on par. The atmosphere is a nice but loud. The negative note that I have that just kept surfacing every time I was there was the service. I walked in, didn't know if I could take a seat or had to wait for the hostess. When we were seated, the service was possibly the worst of worse. I have multiple stories that are good example of this, but I want to keep it short. Just don't expect tip top service. My recommendation for you is to go up to the bar and order your drinks and food if you can.

This was a pretty good place. It was a friday night dinner at around 11 pm and their kitchen was open. But, they do not have a full-menu, it's just some of the appetizers and some burgers, so there weren't many choices. We just got some spinach and artichoke dip along with a trinity chicken burger and a veggie quesadilla, we just about managed to finish our food (almost 95% done) and I had a caramel apple martini, which was stronger than what I expected. The service was pretty good too and this neighborhood, seemed to have a lot of shops, but none were open at the time. There was live music, so some entertainment was definitely there.

We were thrilled to find this place after recently coming back from a great trip in Ireland. Brought back all the great memories coming here. Smithwicks, Kilkenny Irish ale and great food options. As authentic as it can get being in the states.

My husband and I are accumulating a small collection of "go to" spots. Curragh has earned a spot on that list. We have been to this location three times so far and the food has been consistently good. Today we had the Mediterranean sandwich that was loaded with eggplant, roasted peppers, kalamata olives and goat cheese. Delightful. The homemade potato chips were a nice addition and went well with malted vinegar. I also had the cream of chicken soup today and thought the broth could have been a bit thicker, but the chicken in soup was very tender and the soup was a good compliment to this rainy day. There is a wonderful assortment of beers to choose from, just double check prices, because my husband ordered a couple of Belgium beers that were quite pricey. This location has an area for live music and a cozy atmosphere along with a large false hearth. It's a shame the fire place isn't real, because it would be a great addition during the winter. Service can be a bit slow, but the staff is friendly enough, and most try to go above a beyond what is expected. Welcome to the Neighborhood Curragh!

Seriously, the food quality here is outstanding. Usually you need to worry about things being overly salty and oily. And to find good quality seafood is something we learn to let go of being in Chicago and the Midwest. Here at Curragh, everything was super fresh and refreshingly light. Oysters were SO fresh! Turkey burger was juicy and phenomenal! T.B.A. (Turkey bacon avocado) sandwich was fresh, light. Not salty at all, yes! Nicely buttered and perfectly toasted bread, all demonstrate care and mindfulness to the food. And the chips on the side -- house-cooked kettle lovely mix of regular and sweet potato - were super light and crispy, not thick and sharp like you're used to experiencing (you know, the unmistakable slashing at the roof of your mouth chips that you regret for the next 2 days). Aside from the waitstaff being slightly forgetful, (hence 4 stars), we'll definitely be back!

The spot that this restaurant is in has been a revolving door for restaurants at The Glen for years. I like what they have done with this place though decorations wise. They took away the warehouse type look and made it more of an intimate pub-type feel (hence the name) which is nice. Could also be another good bar spot at The Glen and in Glenview/Northbrook in general which doesn't have a lot of those. The food was really good though and I have had irish pub "fayre" at other places. Ever since Tommy Nevins in Evanston became a shell of its former self (and took away my favorite item on the menu - corned beef boxty) I've been hoping for another place to pick up the banner. Lo' and behold, Curragh has a corned beef boxty! And it was hands down the best one I've ever had. While in general I would say this place is a bit pricey - the boxy was $14 and other menu items were typically in that range as well, the food was delicious. We ordered an appetizer of artichoke hearts, smoked salmon, goat cheese and capers which was delicious. There is also a very good beer list with lots of local brews. I would love to come back and try other pub "fayre" items. Though not sure if I could avoid ordering the boxty again....

Great service, ambience, and fabulous food!l Love the burgers, mussels and the live band was amazing!
A bartender who knows how to pour all styles of beer, amazing. The food was pretty decent, but we stuck to appetizers. Prices are a little closer to River North prices but still doable. Atmosphere is nice, seating at the bar is a little crowded. The service was polite and very helpful and accommodating. I'll definitely come back for at least an update. Also, they have a sign for football specials ($2 domestic pints and $.50 wings) So i will probably check that out. Yelp that shit!

I came to Curragh in Glenview for the first time to play their debut of sporcle live trivia (the host Elise was incredible!). I was beyond pleasantly surprised to find that not only was the trivia awesome as expected, but the service (by Brian) was spectacular. I took a chance and ordered the Tilapia with artichokes and mashed potatoes. I have to say it was delicious, far above and beyond my expectations! I will definitely be back Wednesday nights for the live trivia (with prizes) and great food and service.

This place looks absolutely fantastic. It is a classy version of the American Irish pub, not a cartoony version. Exposed brick and dark wood; foot-thick rough-hewn ceiling beams in the main rooms; a fireplace; familiar but handsome Gaelic bric-a-brac such as signs, mirrors, photographs, golf clubs, literary quotes, etc; and various seating options including cozy nooks and a semi-private room with a table for ten and a lighted glass case housing numerous whiskey bottles. DEAL ME IN. Service is erratic. When I went with a large group, our server was great; she checked in frequently and cheerfully honored special requests, such as when I asked for a pickle (which did not come with my meal but did with others) and another guy said "Why don't you just bring a whole bunch of 'em." She said "Sure" and a plate of pickles appeared within a minute! Another time, a colleague and I had a very awkward, extremely hover-y waitress. On a third visit, the attention level was perfect, but the server was very short on pleasantries. The food is generally pretty good. Those tasty pickles are made in-house. The cole slaw was pretty plain but solid. Fish and chips is a popular choice but could use some work: while the fish was perfectly cooked, the batter was kind of bland. However, the chips (aka steak fries) were outstanding. I have also tried the chopped salad--fresh and satisfying but lacking zing--and the seafood chowder, a nice soup that contained little seafood. My favorite lunch so far has been the outstanding turkey burger; it is a really fresh and light, clean-tasting option (if you omit the cheese as I do). It comes with tomato and red onion slices, a side-salad's worth of arugula, and a very modest drizzle of pesto aioli. The fries that accompany the sandwiches and burgers are different than the "chips" of fish & chips fame, a thinner, skin-on type which come out a little underdone but otherwise very good. On the draft list, there are several great craft beers (many local such as Revolution, 5 Rabbit, and Temperance), but the star in my book is KILKENNNY Irish Cream Ale. I don't find it often, so this is a beautiful thing.

My husband and I hosted our daughter's Baptismal reception yesterday and can't say enough how wonderful everything turned out. Our party arrived early and the servers immediately accommodated everyone with drinks. The food was served in a timely fashion and everything was delicious. I had several guests call me today to tell me how good the food was. I would definitely host another party here and highly recommend this location.

After hearing back from the owner Paul, we decided to have our annual gift exchange here. We brought about 20-25 people and I gotta tell you. Amazing experience. Charlie was once again absolutely perfect! And our server Sean/Shawn was constantly tending to us. The food was on point as always and the people we brought who have never been there before were extremely impressed. Thank you for redeeming yourselves! We love this place and will be back often. Thanks to Paul and Charlie for the amazing turnaround.

Was in the neighborhood for a car event and tried this restaurant. The Bloody Mary was great! They use the zing zang mix, it's awesome! The Moscow Mules were also good! Had somewhat slower service but the owner reached out and has truly made me want to make the drive to Glenview just to visit this place again. Will definitely be back the next time I get a chance! Definitely try this place and sit on the patio. :)

I was disapointed in what Curragh was. My friend and I went here for New Year's eve. The setting it great. It's definitely everything what you would expect an Irish Bar to have. They have a good, but not great beer selection, seemed to have a good whiskey selection and a decent selection of mixed drinks. I ordered Reuben rolls to eat. Imagine egg rolls with a reuben sandwich sans rye inside. It was just average The bar was half full on NYE which was surprising. We got there at eight and the band went on at ten. We decided to wait until the band went on to decide whether to stay or leave. We wound up going to Yardhouse. Because of the location (in the Glen) I would imagine that this location is better for the lunch and dinner crowd then truly for a bar.

Been to many an irish bar around the world. This place holds it own with the best. Excellent food and staff. I had the blackened cod salad and guinness soup, excellent. Nightly music and great specials for sports. Nice to finally have a good Irish bar in the neighborhood.

Our office had a combination party/ fundraiser here. Everything was set up perfectly and our two hard-working servers kept everyone in food and drink for the several hour event. The ambience and mood was great. The fish and chips are outstanding. Would strongly recommend The Curragh for small-medium groups who want a fun, professional venue with lost of free parking out the back door!

Good food 3 stars but great location 4 stars and environment 4 stars. The cheese sticks are unique as are the corned beef dumplings. The prices for alcohol are also decent. All and all a good solid place to bring kids and a group during the day to sit outside. BONUS they are dog friendly outside on the sidewalk.

The building is beautiful, they really did a lot of work inside to give the place an authentic feel without feeling overly cartoony or annoying. The staff was lovely, maybe some other reviewers have caught people on a bad day (everyone is entitled to them) but we were greeted and served with a smile and the staff was knowledgable and friendly. We ordered a ruben and fish & chips and the food was fantastic! The corn beef was fresh, the fish was crispy and great.. My only recommendation would be, put tater tots on the menu and it would be heaven!!! We will definitely be back!!

Went in last night for the second time. The food was as good as ever. We had the Reuben Rolls (SO GOOD!), Chicken Nachos ( bomb.com ), and the Curry Fries (just awesome). Service was prompt, and the food came out in a timely matter even though it was busy. The beer selection was on point and I think its awesome that they highlight locally crafted beers. The manager came out and adjusted the volume of the music to make sure that it was audible but not too loud. He even asked us how the food was personally and thanked us for coming in. Overall a great experience. Definitely will be coming back

I went here with my boyfriend on a Monday night and the bar and patio seemed pretty filled up but the tables indoors were pretty open. The hostess greeted us with the biggest smile right when we walked in, and asked us inside or outside and we said inside and asked for a booth. Without hesitation she said I have just the booth for you and took us to what she said was her favorite booth for a date night. A very secluded booth away from everyone inside but with a open cut out seeing back into the server station. It was honestly perfect. Probably the best booth I've sat at. The best part was that every waiter passing drew their attention to us because they could see us so they were always there checking in. But onto the food! We started off with the Ruben Rolls, which in essence are a irish egg roll. Simply delicious. Wonton stuffed with cabbage, kraut, corn beef, and irish cheddar, then fried and served with 1000 island.. They were killer! Then my boyfriend and I ordered shepherd pie and fish and chips. Both were very good. I liked the fish and chips more, and he liked the pie more.. so it kind of worked out! We both got plenty of our share when it came to food! And when the bill came it was under $40 and thats even after we forgot to show our server the coupon we received for checking in. The offer 1 free appetizer with a purchase as long as you check in. It could've been cheaper but it was still a steal! Overall this was some great food with some even better service! We will definitely be returning!!

Our favorite place in the Glen. - The staff is outstanding. Quick and go out of their way to help or make up for things if, say, they don't have a beer that's on their menu. - They have a very good beer selection. - They allow dogs on the outside and even give them a biscuit and water. - The food is pretty good. Better than Yardhouse IMO. - Kid friendly during reasonable hours (before bed-time), so, exactly what you'd want. Then more bar-like late. One of the most exciting things about the weather getting warmer is getting to spend time going to The Curragh for a drink on the patio with my wife, child, and dog.

This is a fantastic looking Irish pub, more on the modern side less traditional then typical Irish spots. But the service is good food a beer menu decent. Hard to compete with yardhouse and flight but this spot is a great addition to the glen. Just wish it was a little more sports oriented. Great outdoor seating, will have to comeback and try the food

Second time to Curraghs, the first time we got charged for a round of drinks. The manager Paul was so apologetic and nice we tried again. Glad we did, we had the French onion soup that was excellent! The Wisconsin cheese soup was just ok but the corn beef sandwich and fish n chips were wonderful! We were almost forced (hehe) by the manager Orla to have the pumpkin cheese cake. I'm not a big dessert person but I talked about it for several days,it was that good! This place has great ambiance as well. This would be a great weekend place while shopping at The Glen to come take a break and have lunch at.

After the "Yard House" had a line nearly out the door, my father and I decided to give the Curragh a shot. Darden's minions are way too mainstream for me and I regret absolutely nothing about this meal. I'd consider the atmosphere an upgrade as well. Because we were drinking we decided to dine at the bar. Service was spot on, although the bar was busy the bartender, a gentleman with a pony tail, paid excellent attention to me and my dad. Drinks came quickly, and the pacing of our courses was spot on. We started with the muscles, prepared with a tomato sauce with delicious notes of fresh basil and garlic. Although this dish was more on the Italian side it worked and the portion was generous. I had the chowder, which had flavors of both tomato and cream. The large chunks of clam were satisfying and helped combat the frigid temperatures. I quickly downed two of lagunitas IPA offerings. I know little about Irish brew and hard liquor, so it was nice to see lagunitas on the menu. Lagunitas has taken over the Chicago craft beer scene and nearly every beer they put out is at the top of its class. At 5$ each this was a fair price for a generous pour. This bar is well stocked in both beers and spirits. On a comical note it was hilarious to see patrons getting hammered at the 6:30 dinner hour in such a high end suburb. This may be a testament to generous pours.... Dad hit the jackpot with the lamb shank. The meat was falling off the bone; tender and well marinated. This offering was a bit too adventurous for me so I stuck with a classic reuben. My Reuben was well executed and the corned beef was high end and lean. The ingredients were perfectly proportioned and everything was up to temp. The side dish of 1/2 kettle and 1/2 sweet potato chips fell a bit fat, but the pickle was delicious and not over salted. Next time I will ask for extra pickles and no chips. *****Management******* Please have the prices of the alcohol items next to their descriptions. We felt like broke goons asking for a number on everything we ordered.

(5)Rob B.
(4)Vito M.
After my prior review I was contacted by management in effort to fix the issues I had. This shows me the management and owners truly care and want this to be a great restaurant. I will be back, the food is always great and I believe any service issues will now be resolved.
(4)Rayn P.
Great drinks! Best drinks in the Glen!
(4)Azy P.
Amazing!
(5)Holden C.
Went for beers and a Hawks game. Great hockey crowd at the rail and the Hawks won. Given my Michigan connections I wished they'd had a Founders IPA available I didn't love the beer selection. Not awful just not awesome.
(4)Cathy R.
(2)Mike R.
Food is great, staff is almost overly friendly, and they pour the perfect Guinness, what more could you ask for?
(4)Scott M.
First time ever having A Boxty and boy was if good. Wings had a lot of flavor and were generous in size. Traditional Irish feel in Chicagoland suburbia. Solid service and a visit from the Manager. All good.
(4)Andrew U.

(3)Sean B.
Manager Lydia failed to honor the Yelp coupon without an explanation, yet she sat at the bar back turned to us and didn't even have the decency to come and talk to us. Rude and unprofessional, we won't be back.
(2)Rosanne C.
(5)Suzanne K.

(5)Ryan M.
(2)Sharon P.
Stopped in for a quick lunch in the midst of weekend errands. Had heard good things from others but they didn't do this place justice. Simply the best sandwiches ever...T.B.A. and Classic Curragh Reuben. Try them out!!!
(5)David Z.

Happy accident! Stumbled on this place and thrilled! Fantastic addition to Glenview! Really good food and service! Flexible menu includes traditional Irish faves and other options for many dietary tastes. Great drink menu and live music is a bonus. I'll be back :)
(4)Silvia C.
The best restaurant on the Glen strip to have freshly prepared meals , especially breakfast / just had a breakfast burrito "to die for." Don't forget to try the cheesestick /freshly made the minute you order them.
(5)Dave G.
(4)Shawn N.

(5)Rachael K.

(4)Kenny G.
Excellent fish and chips, sublime reuben. Killer beer selection. A bit overpriced.
(4)Paul G.
Get some great beers. They have outstanding home made cheese sticks cut from blocks of cheese. I am not a cheese stick fan and these are darn good. Shepardson Pie good and they have a great selection of staple beers and a rotation of craft beers
(4)Chris S.
Friday early evening. My waiter Liam was very happy to help with the menu and answered all my guestions. Food was great beer was cold. Im coming back now I know Liam knows what a B&B is.
(5)Greg G.
I love this place! Friendly staff, great selection of beef and spirits, and they make the best portabella sandwhich!
(5)Bonnie Z.
(2)Chip M.
Had a fantastic dinner here last night! Our server was attentive, and the food was delicious! The manager, Lydia, stopped by our table to see how the food was, which was a nice touch. We will definitely be back!
(5)Kelly J.
My friend and I checked out the place last night and totally recommend. Yummy mozzarella sticks!! So gooey and lots of cheese. The bread pudding is a must too! Very moist and best of all warm and hits of the sweet spot:)
(5)Floyd's P.
I was here the other day for lunch and had the Sheppards Pie. Omg delicious!!! Great cheese sticks too for an appetizer. Service was awesome as well. Plus I love it when places have clean bathrooms. Always a good sign. Definitely coming back.
(5)Nicholas G.
Staff was friendly, prompt, and polite. Food was good, beers were better. Something different in the area, fun for a lunch after golf.
(5)Lindsey R.
(5)Cam W.
The shepards pie was delicous. The service was a little slow but Im sure that is not a common occurence.
(4)Stephanie K.
So we tried The Curragh for the second time last night, and I am pleased to say that the service was excellent. (Our first visit this wasn't quite the case, so I am glad they seem to have worked out the kinks!) The food was delicious as well. I enjoyed the steak sandwich and my husband loved the Irish stew. We also tried the house made mozzarella sticks on our server's recommendation, and they were fabulous. The local beer selection is very good, too, and for this visit our server was knowledgeable about the beer list. I really like the décor as well - it is traditional (lots of exposed brick, wood, leather, etc.) but up-to-date, too. It's a comfortable noise level but loud enough that you don't feel bad about young kids making noise. We met two of the managers--Chris and Orla--who were both attentive to guests around us. Love the fact that Orla is actually from Dublin as well! We will be back!
(5)Bari S.
(4)Giordanna W.
(1)F J.
(3)Keith H.
(4)Steven B.
(4)Lauren K.
(4)Tricia D.

(5)Howard W.

Love their food, had the chicken nachos even though I was at an Irish pub and they were crispy and excellent.

The owner actually called my friend and asked me to take down my review. If you didnt want a bad review you should have done a better job.

Well, it took a long time for me to write the review that I promised almost a year ago, but that was due to my not visiting this establishment during the last 11 months. I wrote one of the first Curraugh Yelp reviews on St Pat's Day in 2014, and I promised to write a food review instead of a bar review. I'd better do this now before I croak of old age ... As a chintzy old coot, I usually do not patronize places that don't offer deals; and I figured that I would not return to the Curraugh until they offered a discount. FINALLY, they offered a Groupon deal and Mrs. B insisted that we take them up on their offer. So we went there last Saturday for a real meal. Upon entering the Curraugh, we were immediately escorted to our table. I showed my Groupon to our waitress and also asked her about a free appetizer they offer if we enter something on our iPhones when we enter. She demurred because we were already using a Groupon and we would not be allowed to use two discount deals. OK, I tried. Well, the wife ordered an Irish Stew and I ordered a Shepard's Pie. My wife, the consummate Irish imbiber asked for a Diet Coke, too. Our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and could answer all the questions we had about their menu, from where they get their food (a lot of it actually comes from the auld sod), and the meaning of life (just kidding: I wondered whether anyone actually reads my nonsense). We enjoyed our meal and the general ambiance of the Curraugh; and I asked my wife how she would rate the place if she were to write a Yelp critique. She said that there was one major problem: Remember the Diet Coke she ordered? After the entrée was served, our waitress did not come back to check on us , and the pub was not busy at the time we were there. Mrs B wanted a refill on her soda, and she had to shag another guy to refill her drink. [Hmmm, maybe I should not use the term "shag." It has another meaning in many English-speaking countries!] So, she recommended that I do not award five stars, even though I did not consider the slight to be all that big a deal. So, I will respect my wife's opinion and offer a four star recommendation. We still like the Pub. I'm not so picky, but I will defer to her opinion this one time.

Sheppards pir was good but a little over done. Great atmosphere. Live music was nice. Overall would reccomend to a friend

(5)AJ M.
