Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

This place is not the same anymore. I was a ten year customer not anymore. The quality is in the basement the dish size is getting smaller. They think they have a corner on the market, not people will realize the tasteless cheep food you are serving. The chicken marsala has wine in the recipe. Just one of many issues.

Fantastic experience all around. Wonderful atmosphere, friendly waitress and great Italian food. My new go-to place for chicken Vesuvio. I ordered it with extra garlic and that's exactly how it arrived. Couldn't have been happier. To make things even better, the garlic rolls they served when we arrived came hot and fresh, perfect for dipping in olive oil. And I tried my son's pasta, which was cooked perfectly al dente. I'm not sure where some of these poor reviews are coming from, but I have no complaints, and will be back!

Were driving back from Wisconsin and this place sounded good so we stopped for Sunday evening dinner. We had lasagna, whitefish with spinach and chicken piccata. Excellent bread, food and value. Nice atmosphere. Will stop next time through this way.

We loved the place. Went with a party of five. Most had the whitefish. Which they said was delicious. I had a large salad which was good. My husband had a pork tenderloin which was terrific. I'm getting that next time. Service was great. Very attentive. Food was brought to the table in a reasonable amount of time. Too bad they're not open for lunch. I'd love to come here earlier in the day.

The entrance was lovely. Our host was nice. He greeted and seated us. Our server was a little miffed and not nearly as friendly. My friend and I wanted to shared a plate of gnocchi after observing how generous their portion sizes were. There was a sharing charge. We had to ask for a bottle of red pepper...straws...refills. The staff wasn't very attentive. We realize that at 8:30, they just want go home in a few hours but a little hospitality would be nice. The gnocchi was good. The booth seating was comfortable. But essentially, not worth returning to for servers that make you feel like a bother.

If you love butter, you'll love this place. Me, I'm a fan of great tasting food, and in my opinion, if you have to soak it in butter you failed. My daughters buttered noodles came with Alfredo. We waited a solid 20 minutes for the waiter to come by after we were finished with our meals. It was a very slow Sunday night....I most likely won't be coming back.

What a terrific restaurant! The food is ABSOLUTELY delicious and the service is OUTSTANDING!! Great place to meet for dinner after getting off of the train, too!

I have spent time in Italy so I'm used to good, simple, inexpensive Italian food and wine. I've been to this restaurant several times and previously had a good eggplant Parmesan that was worth the price but my last visit didn't go so well. The decor there is fine - pleasant interior and good layout but it seemed like it was our waiter's first day on the job. He tried to pick up one plate before we were finished - no relaxed Italian courtesies here. I ordered the cheapest dish on the menu - $11.95 - pasta and sauce - and it tasted like what I can cook up at home in 10 minutes for less than $1.00. C'mon, a good plate of spaghetti shouldn't be that hard to make. We ordered two glasses of the house red wine for $13.00. In Italy a half liter of the house wine (5 glasses) costs about $5.00. OK, I know we don't live on the Mediterranean or pay our bill in Euros but this place could do so much more for its customers and still earn a healthy profit. They have a great location and not much competition nearby but the food not the ambiance should be their top priority. That's Italian!

What a disappointment. We'd waited a few weeks for them to iron out the kinks at their new location, but I'm pretty pessimistic about their ability to succeed. We arrived early when there were plenty of free tables available, but our party of four was seated at a table for two. When we pointed this out, instead of correcting the problem, the hostess replied, "we'll make it work." What I hear there is, "I'm sure you'll manage--deal with it." So that introduction really made us feel welcomed. I'm not sure why they even bother having a kids menu. No cups with lids for kids--only adult glass tumblers, and no changing table in the bathroom? Is that even within building code at a restaurant these days? Incidentally, it's still a pretty aged crowd. A waitress took our drink order and then another waitress came over two minutes later and asked us what we'd like to drink. I suppose I'd rather be asked twice than none, but this clearly illustrates their inability to provide good, organized service. Not to mention the fact that each table in our area seemed to have a different server, which would be fine if the service were attentive--which it wasn't. So we quickly ordered--well before busy hours, and received our soups/salads promptly. However, it took over an hour from the time we sat down to finally receive our entrees. And we had a kid with us! The waitress did apologize, but one would think that they would offer some sort of comp to interest us in returning to the place! The nearby tables were held up and equally irritated. Oh, and glancing into the kitchen--it looked pretty dirty, though I don't generally make a habit of peeking at the wizard behind the curtain. Bathrooms were clean though. So given all of this, it was so unfortunate that we couldn't actually enjoy our food--which was actually good, but tainted by the service disaster and getting it as late as it was, because we had to rush through it due to its late arrival. Needless to say, we probably won't be back.

The food wasn't bad but wasn't great. Wait staff didn't attend to us. (I.e Never filled out water)

Had a reservation for a Saturday night. We were seated promptly, but at a table with many more places than people. When we asked for the extra chairs and place settings to be removed so we weren't all squished together, it became a little chaotic. Not sure what's so hard about making sure there are 6 settings at a table. It took about 3 different people to correctly make the adjustment. Their bread rolls were outstanding and their calamari was very good. We didn't wait very long to receive these things plus our soups/salads, but then we waited about an hour for our entrees to be brought out. It looked busy in there so I understand a delay to a certain extent, but this was past that point. We also had to ask for water refills about 5 times, and I'm honestly not exaggerating. Besides the very slow/non-existent service, the food was actually pretty good. Not sure if I would return though.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Glenview! The food is so amazing! The service is good too. And I love that it's not in the Glen and still a nice spot to walk to on a date. My boyfriend and I will be going here regularly from now on! And the chicken piccata is really good!!!

Just what we needed in the neighborhood, a restaurant that makes you feel welcome with good food. The spinach lasagna was fresh with great flavor, the best I've had. Great getting to know the bartender Mario.

Dad's birthday brought us here and the new place is great - not too large of a space which works for an Italian place. Service wasn't slow as much as bad timing; thinking that will come around as it gets more situated in its new location. Had the clams, shrimp and calamari with linguine and they nailed it. Their red sauce is fantastic, great flavor with the right amount of kick (spice). Look forward to hitting this place up again and trying the spaghetti and meatballs!

I have been there twice since they moved and I am very glad for the move. Clean upscale look, great little bar, and the food is fantastic. If you haven't been there you need to make the trip. Wait staff is excellent.

Such a wonderful spot for some home cooked Italian. The food is kind of on the pricey side but service and ambiance more than make up for it. I came here with some coworkers for dinner and I was literally blown away by the experience, especially out here in the burbs. The resto has a great Mediterranean feel to it. The drinks were on point. I had a mandarin martini. It was strong but not overpowering. And I paired it with a pasta primavera. My dish was overloaded with artichoke hearts and other veggies. The pasta was definitely fresh. And the portion size was perfect. It was large enough for me to have lunch the next day. My coworkers both had the special. It included the gnocchi and they said it was to die for. The meal came with garlic knots which were piping hot from the oven. The waiter and owner were friendly and didn't rush the meal. We went around 5:30. This is the best I've had since I've been out here. Will return for sure. Highly recommend you give it a shot.

BEST tiramisu Iv ever had...and Iv been to Italy over 18 times. Wow....jaw dropping delicious.

it is as good as it gets. Some of the most authentic and reasonably Italian food in the burbs. End of the story.

Service was excellent! Food was portioned perfectly, priced correctly, and very delicious. The atmosphere is perfect for a family event. Casual inside with nice touches. They take very good care of their guests.

New location, and we finally made it over on a Sunday Night, the place was PACKED and I am glad we had a reservation, we were seated on time, and despite the large crowd, the service was great. The food, was OK- at our table there was an order of chicken vesuvio, which was bland at best, pasta was good- linguini with sausage that had the right amount of kick to it. Also an order of eggplant parm that was also good. I will be back, good idea to have a reservation.

Started off great with garlic knots. Then quickly declined. Entree portions are small, which is not a bad thing it you want to save room for desert, but the prices weren't small. They either need to lower the price of the chicken parmesan, or include more of it. One tiny chicken cutlet and a side of pasta for over $14? Chicken Marsala entree was a little bit more plentiful on the plate. The grand total was $40 plus tip for 2 chicken-based dishes, no drinks (only water). Way overpriced! Not only that, the prices were higher than quoted on their website. I know that it is customary to have a notice "prices subject to change" on printed menus, but this is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE on a website, as it would take minutes to correct pricing on a website!

The worst restaurant I have ever eaten at. We just sat down and waiter wants to take our order; we did not even look at menu yet! Before we could even finish our salad, entrée was brought out. The chicken breast was slivered so we did not even get a full breast! Basically, one breast was served to 2 people. I was still eating my entrée when busboy came to take it away. I had to hold my plate down in order for it not to be removed. Then, the owner Andrew, came to our table and told us we had only 10 minutes to stay at our table and then we had to leave!!!!!!! I have eaten at some of the best restaurants and some of the worst restaurants and nothing like this has ever happened to me. I will never go back to this restaurant!

Decided to try the new location. We ate once at the old location and didn't think it was that great Decor is nice with a well laid out bar with plenty of room at the entrance. The ambiance is a huge step up from the old location. Our waitress was fast, yet didn't often wait for us to stop talking before she began moving away from the table. Maybe some language barrier? The rolls were really good with a garlic tang, soft on the inside and a little crispy outside. The ladies likes the clam chowder, my house salad was just ok. Chicken piccata was passable maybe a little overcooked and my roasted potatoes seemed soggy, definitely not prepared recently. Clams with garlic and linguine passed the test for the ladies May give it another shot. I rate it 3 stars, the ladies 4, however they can rate it on their yelp!

Their new location is fabulous. The ambiance is great. It was full of energy and the food was fantastic. It was a busy weekend and we didn't had a reservation so we had a drink in the bar while we waited. The entire staff was so nice. The whole place has a nice feel. Food and service was great. Can't wait for summer to see if they will have out door dinning as well.

Wow, a new fresh location and great food and service.

We moved to Glenview 5 years ago and just tried this place recently and I wish we had much sooner. The food was amazing! The kids loved the pasta with tomato cream sauce & meatballs; my oldest and most picky ordered alfredo and told me this is his new favorite dish. Wife & I had pescatore and can't wait to order again. We did take out, so I can't comment on service yet. We didn't order salads but their New England clam chowder was fantastic.
