Great food! Creative menu. One of the rare spots, north of the Mason - Dixon line with DELICIOUS grits! Dining room is nice. Menu is chock full of tasty breakfast and lunch items. Ask about the daily special, it's bound to be interesting. Today, it was pulled pork and eggs.

Always go for breakfast. Haven't had their lunch items. Our favorite thing here is their English muffins. We always order a couple extra sides of these. Sweets... Kids like the rainbow pancakes. Their plain pancakes are just as good!! Banana French toast is also delish! Savory... Fave is the lox Benedict!! Love their flavored coffee options and they give you a cup to go if you don't think you had enough during your breakfast. Service is always prompt n efficient!

Actually, I did not set out to eat here. My wife and I had just escaped from a nearby IHOP that had no cook, and could not serve its patrons. Since I knew that Egg Harbor was near our destination, we decided to visit it in the hope that they would have somebody to provide sustenance for a pair of emaciated, ravenously hungry, old and weird folks. Egg Harbor is a nice breakfast/brunch place directly across the street of the North Glenview train station. It is pleasantly decorated in a "home-style" decor, and offers a nice assortment of items. Unlike many restaurants, they offer a bulletin board in their foyer, which can be used to post community-style messages. The waitress greeted and seated us promptly and treated us graciously throughout our visit. I chose a stack of pancakes, and Mrs. B ordered an omelette. I did not throw a tantrum like the guy in the Rainman movie because the waitress promptly plopped a dispenser of pancake syrup in front of me. Maybe this occurred since I started talking about buying underwear at the Kmart at 400 Oak St in Cincinnati. We got coffee too, and they offered us a "doggie cup" of coffee to take with us upon departure. Mrs. B was satisfied with her breakfast. It looked good and she consumed it with vigor and dispatch. My pancakes were a slight disappointment, because I thought their serving size was a bit small (3 pancakes). As far as I am concerned, I am giving the Cafe a good rating, but pancakes are cheap, so I thought the serving size was inadequate. PS: I am also an excellent driver.

Excellent food and excellent service! I came in with my family to celebrate my Father's birthday on a Sunday morning. The wait wasn't long (25 mins for a party of 7.) The decor is nice. Kinda reminds you of a southern brunch restaurant. The food was amazing! I order a denver omelette, cheesy cream grits which I highly recommend and wheat pancakes that tasted better than any buttermilk pancakes I've ever eaten. My family ordered omelettes and skillets that everyone enjoyed. The only problem we had was that my Mother's breakfast which only consisted of eggs, bacon, pancakes, and grits came out about 15 mins after everyone elses food had already arrived. Completely unacceptable but the waitress (hate that I forgot her name but she was very attentive, patient and apologetic) took the meal off of our bill. Needless to say, I would definitely travel the 40 mins just to dine in here.

This is hands down my favorite breakfast/brunch place in the burbs! I've been coming here since I was in high school and the food/service is consistently good. There usually is a wait on the weekends unless you go early or closer to closing time. However they have Intelligensia coffee in the entrance area so that pretty much offsets the wait time, right? Because who doesn't like free, yummy coffee? Egg Harbor is a cozy breakfast/brunch spot and the decor makes you feel like you're at home or at your grandma's. I always tell myself I'm going to try something new every time I come (and that's been years...) but I can't tear myself away from the skillets because they're so gosh darn good! So as you can see, the only things I can review are skillets haha My go-to skillet is the San Antonio which has chorizo, jalapenos, bacon, and onions along with their house potatoes and topped with eggs cooked however you like them. How can anyone go wrong with that?? I've also tried their Matt's Meaty Skillet which is delicious but you need to be in the mood for protein overload (bacon, ham, and sausage..mmmmmm). Just today I tried their new skillet, the BBQ pulled pork, which was a great choice as well! That counts as trying something new in my book! BBQ in the morning...what else could you ask for? It was slightly sweet from the BBQ sauce but had a nice kick from the jalapenos. Good combo! As for drinks, their bottomless coffee is a great option as well as their fresh squeezed orange juice. But the best part of the meal is the yummy dinner mints they give you with the check. I'm a sucker for these melt in your mouth mints. I know you can buy a whole bag of these from the dollar store but still...these are a nice treat! To sum it up, Egg Harbor is awesome and you should stop by for a great breakfast!

Have been frequenting Egg Harbor since before they moved to this location. I would recommend every single thing on their menu, especially a scrambler & their strawberry OJ.

My first time at any Egg Harbor Cafe and it was a great experience! We came here Saturday for brunch around 12:10-12:15 and there was a 20 minute wait. I'm sure that devastated my husband a little bit because he REALLLLY wanted to make a 1:15 showing for Mockingjay at the Glen. We reviewed the menu while we were waiting to save time. When seated, he asked the waiter if he thought we would have enough time to make the movie. The waiter said yup everything comes out within 7 minutes,"" "lickity-split". Sure enough, we ordered, got our food, ate and paid and were out within 30 minutes!! This restaurant is SO EFFICIENT with their turnaround. The table behind me had a toddler that must have made a mess on the carpet and the bussers cleared and set their table within a minute of them leaving. Then someone quickly came out with a vacuum and cleaned up the floor too. I was very impressed, I told my husband they should work for Nascar :P Now, the food was great too! I liked the various options they had and my husband really enjoyed the skillet combo where you get a smaller skillet, 1 egg, banana bread french toast, and fresh fruit. It's just the right amount of food for when you are about to plop down for 2 hours in front of the silver screen. I got the the biscuits and gravy which came with 2 eggs and hashbrowns. The presentation was very nice, not sloppy like most "family restaurants"/diners. The 4 biscuit halves were topped with sausage gravy and also included more sausage chopped and sprinkled on top. It was delicious and I had leftovers for a snack later. I was impressed by the organic ketchup on the table but I think it was overly salty. That's the only criticism!

Been here a few times and food is the best breakfast in the area by far ! But today I was running around before a flight to Portland and I pretty much sounded crazy disorganized and neurotic... SAM as the host/server that took my takeout call during peek lunch hour and after two call backs and pretty much looking like a chicken with my head cut off this guy was the most professional genuinely warm understand young man I have ever encountered seriously made me feel at ease and even let me steal a bunch of suckers :) thanks for making me not feel like crazy lunatic SAM! This kid is why businesses thrive, I'd say make him a manager but I have a feeling he's going to be owning his own companies one day!

My family loves this place. We have been frequent fliers since this establishment opened. I have found all my meals to my liking. I have tried almost all of the dishes and my fall back order would have to be: The Door County Melt. The moist chicken salad with the cranberries, apple, pecans, served on a toasted multi grain bread, and a side salad with poppyseed dressing, and mini potato pancakes. YUMMY! (Wish there was more salad!) Because of the nuts...sorry kiddies, no sharing, more for mommy! But don't worry there is a menu "For little Chicks" Filled with everything a child would want. Did I mention the drink selection? Intelligentsia Coffee is all you need to know. OK , there is also tea and fresh squeezed juices. Many thanks to Ana, her warm smile and extra attention to my kids have made a great impression. We'll be back this Sunday, after Church!

Hands down, the best breakfast place in Glenview. I had high hopes when Orange came to town, but the quality of the food can't compare to Egg Harbor. And when they have their pumpkin pancakes with cinnamon butter on the menu, I can't stay away!

  • Leonor S.

I absolutely love the breakfasts here. I'd pick this spot hands down over walker bros. The food is SO much better and the staff is friendly. I just wish they were open later, so I can enjoy some egg harbor after work!

  • Eliza C.

One of my favorite places for breakfast eats. When I'm in a sweet mood, I get the cinnamon roll french toast. A taste for savory is satisfied by the California Benedict. I've ventured from these go-tos and haven't been disappointed yet.

My Favorite breakfast place ever!!! The cassie's crepes are amazing as is every single thing on the menu. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. Have been here several times and will continue going here for years to come

I love the food at this place but please please DO NOT give me the bill when I am beginning to eat my meal. Every time I go they do this and it seems like they want to get my out of there. Stop

My fiance and I have been trying to find a decent brunch place in the suburbs for a while. What we love about Egg Harbor is that their menu is diverse enough that we don't order the same thing each time. Their blueberry pancakes was fluffly with a lot of fresh berries. My personal favorite is their Nueve Olé (fluffly but not like a souffle and not overcooked and stiff!) or anything with green chili :) One thing I also really love about this place is a small pot of coffee that stays at your table when you order coffee and how well their mugs retain heat!

  • Richard O.

Very good restaurant with an impressive selection of appetizing meals. I always have a great breakfast here and like the setting. The omelets are delicious and the service is very good. New clean building with ample parking. The coffee is served in unique cups and the restaurant is decorated very well. The prices are average and the quality of food is well above average. I enjoy Egg Harbor for breakfast or even lunch. You cant go wrong coming here service and food is at the highest level.

Excellent atmosphere, service and food! I have gone to this cafe several and found the food fresh, healthy and delicious. The service is almost always excellent, though once or twice I have had the misfortune of a newer waiter/waitress attending to my table. The wait is always decent and the coffee is delicious! All together it is a family oriented eatery that will brighten the rest of your day!

Not bad for breakfast, I went there for two times and I was super hungry, I think this place is not bad at all, since I love eggs, it's not a fancy place but at least 10 times better than Danny's, so still my choice always for breakfast during weekend!

Long lines at Walker Brothers? Expect a long line here too on Sat and Sun mornings. If you want something a little different than your everyday breakfast food, aka pancakes, bacon, eggs....this is definitely a place to try. It's all your breakfast favs with a twist of their Harbor potatoes. Pancakes get new life with seasonal fruits, blackberry or even pumpkin and the all year round cinnamon. I like the down home skillet, french toast, Door country melt and tuna melt. Soups are worth it as well. Service is pleasant here. The Pfingsten location has closed, but during the warmer months, you can eat outside here.

This place is Egg-celent! I'm a sucker for breakfast/brunch places, and this has to be my favorite one. I never had a bad culinary experience here. Cassie's crepe is definitely my favorite dish on the menu (I order it 95% of the time I go). Though the most of the other plates I've tried are just as good. Service is quick and to the point. Waiting for a table, however, can get annoying long, especially if you're really hungry.

  • Gina M.

i loooove this place because they have lunch items....my favorite is the door county melt- chicken salad with raisins in it on toasted wheat bread with two kinds of cheeses melted! it comes with fruit, a small salad and potatoes. GET IT, its soo good, i promise

I went for brunch with my wife and in-laws on a Monday morning. Even though it was a weekday, it was packed (probably due to the holidays). Still, we only waited about 20 minutes and everyone was extremely warm and friendly. Our order included the breakfast burrito, french toast, tuna sandwich and basic breakfast combo (eggs + bacon + potato) -- all were excellent. This is a solid place and I definitely will be back.

  • Howard S.

Went there at a busy time, and got prompt and courteous service. Since I am a vegetarian, I ordered a veggie skillet with organic potatoes. I asked for a couple of substitutions and they were made graciously and effortlessly. The organic potatoes are terrific; one step better than the potatoes I have gotten at any other restaurant where I have eaten breakfast or lunch. The food was delicious.

Love Egg Harbor! Just tried this one in the Glen for the first time; I had to call the restaurant to get directions after Mapquest led me astray (who knew Lehigh turned into Harlem Ave.? well, thankfully, the nice woman who answered the phone at Egg Harbor did when I called). Great service, friendly staff, and the food is top-notch. And much better parking than the one in Arlington Heights.

I have now been to both locations are definitely prefer the one on Willow Rd. I was convinced to order the Banana Bread French Toast by my wife and friend. It was good, but didn't get the wow I thought I would. Its about three minutes from where I live, so I will definitely be back, but hope to be more impressed next time out.

We went there sunday morning for breakfast around 10;30, I thought it would be packed. we were seated after 5 min. I got the bananna bread pancakes with eggs and bacon. I thought they would just give two slices of bacon I got 5 and it only cost around 8$. deff. coming here again our server was great, and so was the food.

I love Egg Harbor Cafe. The Door County Melt is to die for. The Orchard Valley Roll-ups are also excellent. They offer a variety of breakfast items and many lunch entrees are served with tasty potato pancakes and salad with poppy seed dressing. The service is good and usually fast, although they can be crowded at lunchtime. Kids like coming here too. They have a great kids' menu that the little ones can color with colored pencils that are supplied on each table. If they're still bored, you can always have them count the chickens that are displayed in every nook and cranny of the place. I've eaten at other Egg Harbor Cafes and they've all been excellent except one. Our dining experience at the Egg Harbor at Lake Geneva was pretty dismal. It was crowded, the service was ridiculously slow and the food quality didn't match up to past Egg Harbor experiences. Go somewhere else if you're in Lake Geneva!

My husband and I went to Egg Harbor Cafe in Glenview, IL yesterday (Saturday morning) about 10:30am we waited about 10 minutes to be seated (which was ok). We were expecting fresh eggs, potatoes, etc.. We were very disappointed because the breakfast was all pre-packaged; nothing was fresh or seasoned well. My French toast was stale & bananas were brown, the skillet egg omelet my husband ordered had a glob of processed cheese on one portion of his omelet, the potatoes were were not fresh, and the omelet was watery. The eggs were from a carton not fresh from an egg shell, not wholesome or fresh; everything was processed!! The food portions were very small. The coffee was the only good option at this restaurant. For two people the bill was $33.09 for over priced processed breakfast food. Please save time & money & bypass this restaurant. Actually NO stars for this restaurant!!!!!

Best breakfast place in the area. My husband and I come here every weekend and we are never disappointed. Great staff, great food, always plenty to eat...it's definitely busy, but if you come before 9:30am, you probably don't even have to wait to be seated. My husband's favorite dish is the San Antonio skillet. Makes a nice spicy start to the day. I myself, like to create my own skillet, lots of choices and I usually get poached eggs on top. They have free range shell eggs and the food in general tastes fresh and organic. There are several locations for the Egg Harbor Cafe. We have also been to the one in Arlington Heights and it is just as good. It's the same distance for us from home...The one in Glenview is more spacious -- higher ceilings, that's why we come here rather than drive to the one in Arlington Heights.

We went here for breakfast on Friday morning. Maria was our server. I have never EVER received such PERFECT service at a restaurant before. Not only was she friendly, had a great smile, and a fun personality, she was very efficient, and handled my special requests like a pro! She brought my diet coke in a fun little mason jar, and my own carafe for I'm immediate refills. Not sure if this is what they do for everyone, but whatever, I thought it was awesome. I had the gluten free pancakes with chocolate chips & whipped cream, hash browns, eggs, & bacon. Everything was absolutely delicious, delivered lightning fast, and I scarfed it all! Ashley had the pumpkin pancakes and some coffee. She loved everything, too. For the 2 of us, the bill came to 29 bucks and some change. Not too bad considering the portions were big, the service was awesome, and the food was delicious. I will absolutely be back here. VERY VERY nice job, Egg Harbor! Fatty happy. :)

Walker bros pancake house ----watch out! Egg harbor definitely has better breakfast selections than Walker Bros. 1) They have choices for people who do not want to gain fat or meals with too much sugar and salt. 2) Place is clean and well maintained. No problematic issues in the restroom. 3) Staff is courteous, friendly, and always helpful. Last week I had a sweet tooth and tried the Italian french toast. Not bad. My dad had the steak breakfast and mom enjoyed a bowl of berry oatmeal. They also have convenient parking. However, I noticed they had low calorie breakfast selections. Next time, I will try those types of food.

While many of the egg dishes on the menu items sound very appealing, what ends up on your plate is far less than promised. The Red Rock Skillet is described as "BBQ chicken, fresh avocado, corn, black beans, tomatoes, green onions, cilantro and melted Jack cheese". The chicken is a pre-cooked portion control breast which is heated on the flatop, not barbecued. The barbecue comes in the form of BBQ sauce squirted over the canned/frozen black beans & corn . The "Harbor Potatoes" are pre-cut frozen pieces that are deep fried (not to order) and soggy. While I couldn't find a speck of cilantro, I am guessing that the green onions and avocado specks were actually freshly chopped in house. To add insult to injury, the concoction mentioned above was served lukewarm with two eggs on top. The amicable server apologized, and I ordered a "Rocky Mountain High" omelette instead. Once again, disappointing. Restaurant supply cubed pieces of boiled ham, sauteed frozen onions & green peppers. Does this place actually have any fresh veg in the house? And the highly touted English muffins with such a Yelp following.......OMG , the worst. Hardly toasted, cold, then slathered with a melted "spread" ( didn't taste like better to me). This place wins the "Most Disappointing Breakfast In Chicago" Award.

Had the Quinoa bowl today. It was a smaller portion than I expected but it was delicious. It came out warm and tasty. The coffee was delicious and robust. Intelligencia coffee is generally wonderful and this cup didn't disappoint. Service, as usual, was wonderful. Everyone seems genuinely happy to be there and happy to serve. We love this place for breakfast. Recommend highly.

This was extremely disappointing. I was expecting Fresh ingredients and a home made feeling, we got pre-made everything. Even the "fresh squeezed" orange juice tasted like tropicana. Your better off going down the street (to the east) for high quality food. Service, atmosphere, and wait time were all good but that's as far as I can go with the compliments.

Egg Harbor it's a wonderful place for breakfast and lunch. Our family enjoys this once a week, because it has a wonderful selections of all breakfast dishes. The environment is extremely family friendly, and the staff provides wonderful service! My business is down the street from Egg Harbor and we wanted to provide breakfast for 60 people today. I called Egg Harbor less than 24 hours in advance and see if they'd deliver the catering order prior to their time they open. With no problem at all, they said they would of course do it! How wonderful! Both the catering manager I spoke with and the woman who delivered the food this morning (right on time) were so great to work with. Customer service at its best! Of course the food is great. We ordered plain scrambled eggs (not watery at all!), French toast casserole (a favorite), potatoes and fruit. They were prepared with syrup, butter, utensils... amazing! I cannot thank them enough for helping this breakfast go so smoothly this morning. Egg harbor is not the mom & pop generic breakfast. It is truly a step above that and everything I've ever had there has been delicious and fresh. Thank you!

Egg Harbor is great place to go for breakfast and brunch. We find ourselves going there on those mornings when we sleep in and are too lazy to make ourselves breakfast. The restaurant itself is a little tight and always busy. You might find yourself squeezed into a small booth, but I haven't yet found an uncomfortable seat. As far as the food goes, I love their Benedict options. And, since turning Paleo, I've discovered they also have a delicious Gluten-Free menu that caters to those picky eaters like me.

Huge fan of Egg Harbor. I've been coming to Egg Harbor for years. With a solid brunch menu and good coffee, you can't really go wrong! Service can be a little hit or miss but in my experience, the servers have always corrected their mistakes. The wait can get long on weekends (and they won't seat you unless your entire party is there) so be prepared to wait if you go during peak hours.

  • Shayna Y.

Definitely my go-to brunch spot when I am in the north suburbs. Egg Harbor has a great menu with lots of choices. They have a specific gluten free menu as well. However, the best part about this place is the paleo pancakes! You can get any pancake on the menu in a gluten free version or a paleo version. You do not feel like you are missing out! The savory eggs dishes are always great as well. I really like the scramblers. The potatoes are good as well, but you can also replace with fruit - and it isn't just melon, they have berries too! The vanilla tea is also great. It is served in a personal tea pot and you get freshly steeped tea. The food is great...and so is the service! Everyone who works there is incredibly nice!

We're at Egg Harbor in Glenview almost every Saturday morning. My wife and 2 year old daughter love it. They have a big menu that has something for everyone and good healthy options. My favs are the Cinnamon Roll French Toast and Door County Chicken Salad Sandwich. My wife gets the veggie omelettes and my 2 year old loves the rainbow pancakes. The best part of Egg Harbor is how kind and friendly the waitresses and waiters are. They are really sweet to my daughter and she loves saying hi to everyone.

When you think of food cooked with love, think of the Lobster Scramble at Egg Harbor Cafe, their delicious pancakes and perfectly seasoned hash browns. This is truly an orgasm on a plate. I could eat this meal forever and ever. The servers and host staff here, like other Egg Harbor Locations, are bubbly and extremely friendly. I would imagine these are big check boxes on the interviewers checklist during the hiring process. You feel like a Rock Star because they are so welcoming and treat you so well. My only disappointment today was the chunk of cream cheese in my scramble. The Georgia locations do not have this (at least not where I've ever noticed it before), so I was a little taken back by this glob of warm goowiness in my mouth. They promptly made me another scramble without the cream cheese and balance was restored to my universe. THE VERDICT Get the Lobster Scramble with a side of bacon and prepare to indulge in a food fantasy. Yelp100[64]

I liked the Skillet as others mentioned. My wife had the Cinnamon roll pancakes that were delicious but a lot of sugar for the morning. I wouldn't recommend it for kids, unless you want them bouncing off the walls. I loved the coffee, and they left the pot on the table, never had to wait for a fresh cup. Best part was what i didn't finish they let me take in a to-go cup.

Good food, served quickly. Popular for a reason . Lots of choices. Quality of food is great. Fresh fruit was very fresh and seasonal. Several opportunities at up-selling - good morning would you like orange juice or strawberry ,,,, as we were seated. Other than this a great experience . Would come back with friends Great service.

I've been coming to this place for years and it's nice to see they're still at the top of their game while finding new twists on breakfast classics (strawberry OJ to name one). It's a snug (not small) spot that has great atmosphere and terrific food. The waiters and waitresses will do everything they can to make your experience the best. I usually get an omelet or a scramble, but ordered the biscuits and gravy today and was surprised to how soft the biscuits were and how tasty the gravy was. I always come back when I can (I go to school in colorado), but next time, I will be going here first, not sarkis. TOP NOTCH PLACE, gotta hit it up.

Amazing find. I really wanna give this place 4.5 stars but i need to try more of their food before i do something like that. It's a breakfast and lunch only spot. They even have a "commuter's menu" for the on the go commuter into the city that needs to catch the train right outside the door!. The ambiance is so damn comfortable and homey. It's superclean and the service there is top notch! I had the regular breakfast of eggs, hash browns, and bread. The has browns were outstanding. Everything there seems so fresh. ALso had the sausage biscuits and gravy. The biscuits were not too heavy and were on the lighter side (compared to the ones i eat in the South). The gravy was tasty and the sausage was great. Would get breakfast all the time here if i was in the area!

I've tried many breakfast joints but I can honestly say that this place beats them all! Their service is awesome. I can't remember her name, but our waitress was so friendly and was patient with our special requests. The food was perfect. My husband and I were very pleased with our scramblers. The wait was the only issue but I now understand why... everyone loves this place!

Amazing farmers market benedict which comes with lots of fresh vegetables. Really enjoyed the skillets where the potatoes are marinated and topped with any toppings you want, cheese and two eggs. Love their English muffin served with preserves as well. They serve intelligentia coffee. Cut mason jars for ice teas and mugs for coffee. They even offer you a to go cup for your coffee order. Wide selection for kids menu as well. it's a breakfast/lunch place (closes at 2pm). Love the decor with roosters everywhere! Can't wait to return to try other dishes!

If you plan on going here, please make sure you get there earlier than your appetite expects to eat :) The food here is absolutely delicious! They are only open until 2pm so make sure that you get your brunch on. If you want to get something that tastes really good and is really healthy for you, try the breakfast burrito. YUM!

Ok, just for the (new) record, this is one of my go to brunch places in the area. And how much more incentive do you need than to know that there's a balloon animal guy working the brunch hour (I must've been the oldest kid to put in a request) and free Intelligentsia coffee for you if you have to wait? I love the make-your-own skillets! The best part is the Harbor potatoes. One of the newest additions to the menu, the red velvet french toast, is also light and delicious.

Ordered farmers egg Benedict. ....was awesome. Their fresh Orange juice was really fresh. My server was also great. Definitely a great place to come to.

I'm a big fan of the egg white omelet! At Egg Harbor, don't have to pay the extra $2 like other restaurants charge!! The selection is huge and the food is always top notch! I like The Skinny Rosti fresh spinach, mushrooms onion, red and green peppers and grated potatoes baked in egg whites topped with salsa and low fat mozzarella cheese served with fresh fruit and a wheat English muffin. Probably my favorite breakfast! Another great selection for those of us watching our "midsection" is the Farmer's Market Benedict, made with fresh baby spinach, mushrooms, vine ripened tomato and artichokes on a toasted English muffin with poached eggs with fresh basil holladaise (on the side) it is served with harbor potatoes, but I substituted fruit for the potatoes. The kids that work there are mainly college students (in the summer months) and are very friendly and hard working! On a summer day, there is outdoor seating. In the morning the sun is strong, but once we pass the noon hour, there is much more shade. Love the fact that we get a take home cup of coffee at the end of the meal!

Love Egg Harbor. The skillets are downright awesome. Last time I went I had the San Antonio skillet (chorizo, potatoes, jalapenos, pepper jack cheese, onions, and two eggs on top) - DELICIOUS. Good atmosphere at these restaurants. The only thing I find odd is the booth seating is not comfortable (not sure if other people feel the same way). Something about the angle of the wooden booths that are uncomfortable to sit on. Regardless, I greatly enjoy it every time I go.

They have the best food there!!!!! The servers are always so nice. There's a tea pot or coffee pot there so u don't have to keep on asking. You can even take the coffee, tea and etc to go.

I hadn't been to Egg Harbor Cafe in quite some time but my friends wanted to meet there for a birthday celebration. I didn't feel like breakfast and most of the lunch entrees were either salads or cold so I thought I'd order the special, a pulled pork sandwich. It came with potatoes and a small side salad (all on the same plate which, in itself, I didn't like). The sandwich was almost inedible. A few strands of fatty pulled pork, hunks of ham with bacon & cheese. They did not meld well and when the waiter asked me how I liked my sandwich, I was honest and told him it wasn't good. At the register, the hostess asked me the same thing and I said the same thing and got, "I'm sorry." Each to his own. Will return but will never order the pulled pork special sandwich again.

A nice country breakfast joint located near the North Glenview Metra stop. A plus for coffee lovers, they deliver your very own pot to the table, so you get to control the warm-ups. Kid and family friendly to the max. They serve up all kinds of great pancakes and skillets. The staff is beyond friendly. Service is great. If you ever find yourself in North Glenview for breakfast, definitely try Egg Harbor.

Very good food, (breakfast) Harvest grain pancakes excellent, Omelet very good, potatoes with fresh green onions very good. But the best part was the Awesome staff! From the host to the Servers, all where super friendly and positive and attentive. Maria was the most friendly and pleasant of any waitress I have encountered. Do go here and enjoy!

Great brunch place with awesome selection of breakfast and sandwiches and nice staff. One thing I recommend is their fresh squeezed orange juice with your meal. My ultimate favorite breakfast food in general is an Egg Benedict. The Farmer's Market Benedict has two delicious poached eggs on top of a toasted English muffin with fresh baby spinach, mushrooms, tomato, and fresh basil. I thought the huge tomato slice was too much but everything else on the Benedict was fine. In addition, it comes with some great breakfast potatoes that doesn't feel too greasy and you can actually taste the potato. The portion was just perfect. Egg Harbor's brunch definitely brighten up my day. I am a fan :)

I wish this place was open after 2pm. What I like the most about Egg Harbor Cafe, is that things taste fresh and consistent. Everything I've had is always great, but I always go with the San Antonio Skillet or the Meat Lover's Skillet and switch the sausage for chorizo. They are really good at balancing cheese, potato, meat, veggies, potato, and egg. Try with two poached egg if you like runny egg on your skillet. The staff is always friendly and efficient. They are also pretty good at turnover, you can show up on a busy Saturday morning and wait only 20 minutes (even if they tell you longer). Pretty impressive considering people are waiting out the door. Plus, they set out free Intelligentsia Coffee while you wait--can't lose!

  • El G.

I've been here several times. Every time I go, I'm not disappointed by the food or service. The food is consistently cooked well. Eggs are never over cooked. So far I've had the San Antonio skillet and the Healthy scrambler. Both I would suggest. The only downside is trying to go to brunch on Saturday and Sunday. Be ready to wait. But I can assure you the wait is worth it. And a plus is a Metra stop is right across the street.

This is a really nice place. I love the hearth and feeling of the decor and atmosphere made by all the other happy customers. The food was excellent as well. However I have to hold back a star because of the high price which, while the food was great, I didn't feel was justified for simple breakfast fare.

This is one of the better breakfast places in Glenview. Be forewarned however, it's often packed so make sure to get there early, especially if you're going on a Sunday. As busy as it is, though, they do a great job of turning over tables pretty efficiently so even if you're waiting, it won't take overly long. The décor is very traditional country style with roosters and chickens everywhere. I'm serious; everywhere you turn there is some plastic, painted, or arts and crafts feathered creature staring at you but it's definitely part of the charm. The staff is great and I've never had a problem with my order. It's pretty impressive that in the many years I've been going to this or other Egg Harbor locations I have never had to send my food back or clarify my order. The staff and the kitchen are very well coordinated. Egg Harbor serves both breakfast and lunch but I love their breakfast so much that I've only had their lunch food once or twice, and while good, I much prefer their breakfast. Whether it's an omelet, frittata, scrambler, or simple scrambled eggs, this place does eggs right. They are always light and fluffy and clearly made with skill. I recommend making your own scrambler as you can throw in all sorts of delicious meats and fresh veggies. Most of the breakfasts come with their potatoes which are my favorite part of the breakfast. They are wonderfully cooked and flavored and their own spice adds a nice touch to an already tasty dish This location compares favorably with their other locations and I will certainly be going back in the future, maybe even tomorrow for breakfast.

this place is kind of hit or miss. I've had some really good meals here, but also have some awful ones. I suppose the staff shouldn't bother asking how the meal is if they're not going to do anything about it. we had a sandwich today that was totally under cooked that came with equally under cooked potato pancakes. I've had other bombed meals here recently as well.

It's like you're eating at mom's except you have to pay when you're done. Everything I've had there is delicious. The food is reasonably priced and the menu provides a lot of options. The staff is always accommodating and incredibly friendly. They do breakfast and they do it right.

Great breakfast place. I wish there was one closer than Glenview. Their jam tastes homemade; I wondered if it was boysenberry, which seems to be a flavor I find much more frequently back home in the Pacific Northwest. The Sir Dugan frittata is my favorite, though I do love a good rösti. Good service and a solid breakfast.

We'd been coming here more and more recently because after surveying the North Shore landscape we've realized the quality of the ingredients are great and consistent here compared to other places in the area. First off, they have good coffee here. Intelligensia coffee. And you can get some for free if you are in the waiting area. If you order coffee with your meal, it's not only unlimited but you can take the leftovers from your carafe with you in a cup that EHC will provide to you upon request. Score! Most everything I've ordered here is pretty good, with the exception of their omelettes. Their egg dishes here seem to be hard scrambled, so don't expect fluffy omelettes if you order one. My faves are their "bacamato" grilled breakfast sandwich and their cinnamon roll french toast. Their Harbor potatoes that come with most dishes are pretty good, or if you decide you wanna go less carby you can order fruit in which case their fruit cups are pretty fresh compared to most places. Portion sizing here is a little smaller and the prices are maybe a touch higher than your standard diner as well.

This is my first review. I had stepped inside this place once before while trying to find out when the next train arrived in North Glenview and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Today I decided to give it a try based on that nice experience and the good reviews on Yelp. I don't know if everyone was just having a great day or what but the service was spectacular. I was seated immediately at a booth and was given a nice amount of time to look over the menu. One of the nicest waitresses I've ever had named Kaitlin came and recommended a coffee which changed my mind on what I'd have to drink. She asked me if I would like to hear the specials and but I said I'd like the Geneva Rösti to which she said was amazing and one of her favorites. The coffee was amazing and the food followed it very quickly. It was amazing. When I was finished eating Kaitlin came up and asked me if I'd like her to bring me a to go cup of coffee for the road. I said that'd be perfect. On my way out to pay the hostess asked me how everything was and I said it was incredible. She even noticed what I had to eat and said that it was an excellent choice. The entire staff was very attentive and pleasant, it has an amazing atmosphere perfect for families, and is in an awesome location across the street from the North Glenview train station. I will be returning to this spot as often as I can.

Overall, a great place for breakfast. We were impressed with their creative menu, which is a nice change from the standard breakfast joints like IHOP or Golden Nugget. They also have an abundance of healthier options for those who don't want to consume 2,000 calories in one sitting. Another plus is that they give you decent size coffee mugs (not the 6oz joke of a cup you get at some places), and they leave the coffee pot at your table. I had the phenomenal Portabella Benedict with asparagus and roasted red peppers - it was perfect! (see attached picture) The veggies were tender but not soggy, and the egg was cooked perfectly so the yolk exploded when cut into and the white part was fully cooked, which is great since I hate seeing/tasting the white slime of undercooked eggs. My husband enjoyed Cassie's Crepes, which were delicate and stuffed with mushrooms and cheese. We also visited the Arlington Heights location recently, but like this location better. AH's had scratched up dirty looking water glasses that had seen better days, and when we asked for different glasses, were basically told that all of them looked that way. How about you go buy some new glasses people? Anyway, other than that, we like the place and will come back.

I used to go here A LOT for their blueberry pancakes, french toast, and a few other plates, but I always had to order carryout. Last time I came here with a girl, and we were just waiting on the Metra back to the city, so figured we'd come get a quick meal beforehand. Now I know how busy Eggsperience gets on the weekends, and this was a Saturday/Sunday afternoon, but the staff was definitely not on top of their stuff that day. We got seated immediately, but nobody took our order for 27 MINUTES!! We kept trying to get their attention and was told someone would be right with us, but we waited another 10 minutes and left. I've gone here plenty of times, and service has always been kind of an annoying issue here.

As breakfast places go, Egg Harbor was exactly what I needed when I needed it. My wife needed to take a standardized test at a testing center nearby and didn't know the area all too well so I drove her. The problem is that once I dropped her off, I had 4+ hours to kill before I had to pick her up. Luckily, my Yelp app told me that Egg Harbor was nearby so I decided to go try it out. (It is a bit off the beaten path, so I would not have known about it otherwise.) I had a very nice breakfast. Service was good, and everything tasted great. I would definitely go back if I am in the area.

The food at this and other Egg Harbors is always good. It's the little things that keep me from giving them 5 stars. The staff is great - I agree with the other reviewers on this point. For example, the Chicken and Wild Rice soup tastes good, but it doesn't have a homemade quality to it. Soup in a place like this should be homemade, but this has some canned qualities to it. I do like it, and often order it, but it could be better. Their seasoned potatoes, usually good, do vary a bit. When they're dry and overcooked, it can be a let down. The Santa Fe Rollups are outstanding. The chicken salad is excellent AND you can even buy a pound and take it home if you wish. The rollups, salad and potatoes (when cooked right) is absolutely one of the best lunches one can find. I've been a regular at EHC's for several years and will continue to be.

I really like this place. There are so many options on the menu its difficult to choose! I decided to go with the Door County Salad. It was one of the best salads I have ever had, it's fantastic. Not to mention our waitress was very nice and always checking up on us. The inside is cozy and the staff all seem really friendly. The only bad part about this place is that there is often a wait, we waited about 30 min during lunch time, but honestly, its well worth it.

  • Kathleen C.

Egg-cellent! We've been to multiple Egg Harbor locations for the past 10 years or so and have never been disappointed. I usually go for lunch food...the burger, door county melt and all wraps are delicious! For breakfast, pancakes are delicious, but scramblers are super. The specialty French toast and pancakes are great as well. I've never been to Egg Harbor without it being packed! It's nice that you can call ahead and get on the waiting list to avoid some of the wait. This is a great, casual spot for breakfast or lunch.

I absolutely LOVE Egg Harbor Cafe and have been coming here for many many years, even back before they moved to their location in the Glen. Whenever I come home to visit, I always make a trip here for brunch with my family. I've never had a bad experience. The staff is always extremely courteous and friendly. Their menu has such a great selection that it's so hard to choose. Of all the items I've ordered on the menu: skillets, waffles, barrington benedict, french toast, etc... I've enjoyed every single one, literally. One of the best parts of Egg Harbor cafe is the ambiance. It has a classic country feel with lots of chicken decorations! It is very cute and totally different than most brunch places, which makes it so unique. Also a great tip, you can call ahead and put your name on the list as the wait during the weekends can get pretty long. Glenview has a good number of brunch options, but Egg Harbor is hands down the best and easy choice.

I absolutely L-O-V-E this place! I have been going here for years and every time I promise myself I would order something new but I just can't stay away from the Door County Melt. It is absolutely A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! The poppy-seed dressing on the salad is also delicious. I would love to try the other food; I am sure it's delicious but I just can't stray away from my favorite. Besides that the service is beyond what you can expect at such a busy place. The people at the front desk are extremely friendly and hyped up. I love it! There is not one bad thing to say about this place, every single person that I have brought here has been satisfied. I had a friend in from out of town and one morning we went to Walker Bros. and the next morning we came here. My friend said that Walker Bros. doesn't even come close to Egg Harbor. I have been saying this for years, but when my friend from out of town said it, it confirmed it....Egg Harbor ROCKS.

After my wife telling me how terrific this place is, it was a disappointment. Judging by the crowd I was anticipating something worth the short wait. If you're used to Walker Brothers bacon you're in for a big disappointment. It was typical coffee shop fare: not particularly lean or thick and no distinctive cheerywood flavor (they highlight on the menu that their bacon is cheerywood). The eggs were fine. I mean...they were eggs. My wife ordered the freshly squeezed strawberry orange juice. Sounds like a great idea! Another disappointment. A few strawberry seeds and not much of a strawberry taste. The only highlight is the service. From the greeter to the server to the checkout counter, friendly and helpful. In short, lots of better places.

All the comments on the crowds we spot on. They do have call ahead which is worth the effort, reduced our waiting time to 5 minutes versus the 20 walk up were told. Service was efficient but not hurried. I had the Sir Duggan Frittata which was excellent. My wife had the Sampler which she thought was good but not great. She thought the use of raisin bread made the French Toast much too sweet. Great coffee. All in all, worth the wait.

Been going here for years. Its always a challenge to figure out what I want to order because have many favorites here. There cinnamon roll french toast is to die for. I love their chicken salad as its not the slathered in mayo type but light and refreshing with crandberries and some kind of nut like pecan/walnut. Service is always great and my daughter gets a free breakfast each year for her b-day via a mailed post card.

I came in looking for Red velvet French toast , but didn't see it on menu. Opted for popular Door County Melt that didn't disappoint. Intelliginista coffee overrated IMO. Quick service, big menu , can't go wrong here.

This is becoming our go to spot when we don't feel like driving out to M. Henry, Meli, or the other brunch spots in the city. I'll have to take my mom here as it's filled with decorative roosters ( her odd fav.) There's a good variety of items. Some recent stand outs are the popeye crepes, spinach, egg, mushroom, cream cheese rolled in a crepe with poppyseed dressing on the side. The lobster cake benedict is good, the apple pie waffles are light and not too sweet. It gets busy, but I like the variety and ability to make items into combos for 3 bucks. I also think the quality of the bacon and a few other things are better at Walker brothers, but they don't have as much on the menu.

    (4)
  • Jen L.

My boyfriend & I's FAVORITE Sunday brunch spot! Fresh food, great service, and we always leave full. The omelets are delicious, and he especially loves the lobster scramble. The bacon is always cooked just right, and the potatoes are very flavorful. Also, I love their iced tea. I don't know what it is about it, but it has a great after taste... every time I've eaten here the server offers me a to-go cup & I take one for the road!

my family eats here regularly. the staff are wonderful! my family is mostly paleo, and we alter everything we order from the menu. never have we had the slightest issue. not even a raised eyebrow! food is very good, beaten only by wonderful staff! thanks to all of them! its funny, my family frequently goes to disney. now, of course egg harbor cafe is nothing like disney. however, everyone here smiles at you! its really a nice, comfortable place to eat.

Great little breakfast spot, thanks for the headsup Eliza C! Added bonus, who knew I would discover Intelligentsia Coffee here... AND they have a couple locations in/near LA. I must have been living under a rock b/c this brew is the best out there.

  • Noelle E.

I've been here for the very first time and I loved it! You get good amount of portions for the price you pay. This may be insignificant, but I absolutely loved the little mugs they use for the coffee! The environment was very nice, a very "home-like" feel. It didn't feel like I was going to an IHop. They had red velvet waffles, but I was too full to try them! Next time for sure :)

I have nothing bad to say about Egg Harbor. Even when it's crowded the wait moves quickly(it's worth waiting for!) They have fantastic service, amazing food, and the best coffee. I also love the guy with curly dark hair, is he the owner or manager? Either way he's always extremely nice and as a bonus incredibly good looking.

Egg Harbor Cafe is located in The Glen, which was formerly Glenview Naval Air Station. It's across from the train station in a modern multi-tenant building with plenty of off-street parking. On a weekday lunch, business was booming. There is a large menu with mainly breakfast items. I ordered a Rocky Mountain High omlette, which is normally called a Denver. It came with pan fried chopped potatoes with scallions (very salty). The omlette, although listed as three eggs, seemed small and rather bland. Service was quick and attentive. The decor is nice. Prices seemed a lilttle high to me for what was served.

  • Mario G.

I am, for the most part, a peaceful man but I will drown babies at the chance to eat here! Just when I thought I tried it all they add seasonal items! If the food wasn't reason enough to come they've gone ahead and taught their servers how to treat people right. The price is more then reasonable and to top it all off they offer you a cup of their baby drowning good coffee in a to go cup! Do yourself a favor and IHop your rear end here and have amazing food served by great people at a great price!!! Only downside is it's really busy on the weened but totally worth the wait!! Please DO NOT drown babies or other baby like items!

My family and I have been coming here for years on Sunday mornings. We never stray because the service is excellent and the food is quick, fresh and delicious. I have been there for lunch and breakfast and NEVER had a meal I didn't like! They do an amazing job! Highly recommended! Breakfast: Make a scrambler (comes with delicious potatoes) & try it with Strawberry OJ (served in a mason jar) Lunch: Order the Orchard Valley Roll-Up (comes with potatoes & salad with yummy poppyseed dressing) Don't forget to buy one of their unique mugs on the way out!

I heart breakfast food w/a passion! If i could, i would have it for b-fast, lunch, dinner, and a post-drunken meal as well!! G-town holds a variety of breakfast eateries, but Egg Harbor is def my fav @ the moment. (P.S. I'm not turning my back on Walker Bros.. that place is solid) As soon as you walk in, the cozy decor makes you feel at ease as well as the friendly staff. whether there is/isn't a wait, it's never that long. The coffee is fresh & I wanna snag one of their mugs. It's adorable. but that's besides the point. I normally get a skillet or omelette w/a ton of veggies, cheese, bacon, and turkey. Their potatoes are tasty w/bits of scallions mixed in. I recently ventured to "Lunch" section and I was pleasantly surprised with chicken salad sandwich w/bits of craisins and walnuts and melted cheese on bread. It was light, fresh, sweet , & no leftovers! :) IF you're in the NW suburbs, give this cutesy place a try. A good breakfast definitely sets the mood for the rest of the day & this place is where it's at!!

Great breakfast place, I've been going here for years and they are consistantly good. They get very crowded on the weekends so you have to do the beeper thing, but as far as breakfasts go in the area, this place is tops. I love the create your own scrambler, you get to have what ever you feel like that morning in your eggs. The servers are always pleasant AND the best part is you get your own coffee urn full of delicious coffee. The fresh squeezed strawberry orange juice is also very good.

The staff here is terrific, and this applies to everyone - the front desk, the busboys, the wait staff, and what comes out of the kitchen is delicious. They give incredible personall attention to customers but behind the friendly service with a smile, these people really know how to hustle. There are 2 or 3 staff members that seem to constantly monitor the floor and direct traffic. We hardly ever feel like we have to wait long from the moment we are seated. On weekends, there is usually a 15 to 20 minute wait for a table. They give us a pager when we check in and if it is a nice day, we can wait outside where it is less crowded. Inside, there are a few (about 8) seats for people waiting but most people stand. it does get a little crowded but they have coffee in the waiting area and for kids, there is a shelf of childrens books. The menu is great, especially the seasonal dishes that change every few months. I think Egg Harbor's menu is more creative than the competitors. There is also a kid's menu with at least 12 dishes to choose from-the variety is especially helpful because our son is allergic to eggs.. We feel very comfortable bringing our son here. There are lots of families with young children, but equally there are customers across all age groups that seem just as happy as we are.

What a fantastic meal! I had the Key West Crepes loaded with fresh fruit topped with raspberry sauce and whipped cream. A side order of sausage, and fresh squeezed oj. The wait was only twenty minutes for a table on a Sunday morning. Service was prompt and friendly. We had our own pot of coffee at the table, no wait for refills. We will be back for more.

We had a great breakfast here today, the fruit filled crepes were excellent, so was the "summer in Italy" fruit topped French toast my friends had, and the omlettes looked good as well but I didn't try those. The restaurant is clean, staff is friendly but no better than anywhere else, nothing special in terms of seating, interior, outdoor seating faces the street etc. It took a while to get the order placed but the food came out fast.

This place is spectacular. The menu is huge and very creative! The last four times I've been here I've got the "healthy breakfast burrito" and it is really good. It is a whole grain tortilla stuffed with eggs, turkey sausage, veggies, and some sort of healthier cheese. I've never had bad service here and I love staring around the room at all of the chicken pictures that line the walls. If you come on the weekend expect a short wait.

Since It was packed and seemed promising the first time I went Maybe I owe this place a couple more trips before writing it completely off. However, my personal experience was just ok. Decent food but I have had much more satisfaction at other breakfast places in the area. My coffee was weak, my omelette was overcooked and the pancakes were mushy. So I didn't leave feeling quite satiated. I took a cinnamon roll to go as I was told they were divine. Perhaps the worker that told me that has never experienced a truly divine cinnamon roll but after only one bite and mine was thrown in the trash. I've had better cinnamon rolls bought from a grocery store. Perhaps the only thing I really enjoyed was simply a piece of toast with their homemade preserves.

Such an awesome breakfast spot in Glenview! All my essential breakfast favorites are here and they have delicious coffee too. Sometimes the potatoes are undercooked for my taste but everything else is usually consistent. And compared to the local competition, Egg Harbor blows them out of the water. Who knows, you might even walk out with a couple Egg Harbor coffee mugs for the house :) Overall, the service is great and I've hardly had to wait get seated. You can also call ahead and get your name on the waiting list.

I really love this place! I sleep in really late and this place is open for breakfast untill 2 P.M . Not only that, but they got a lot of varieties of food, and everything tastes really good. This place is always busy and the wait is 15-30 minutes , if you get there after 12.

I love Egg Harbor! It is just like the tv show Cheers because everybody from the busboy, to the general manager, to the wait staff get to know you & your name (and what you like to order!). The food is always good and the service is always fast. I go there mostly during late morning on Sunday's and the wait is usually 5 to 20 minutes which isn't all that bad. It is definitely worth the wait.

Very good! Had the country skillet and loved it. Fresh ingredients made a big difference separating this place from other breakfast spots

I love eggs and this is one place that they have eggs in all of the categories in the menu. I love their cream of chicken and wild rice soup. The scramblers are super! This place never disappoints me!

Brunch is my favorite meal of the day, thanks to dazzling, endless, delicious possibilities, most of which include bacon. To me, brunch is associated with happy times, good friends and family gatherings, and so I am always excited to add new brunch spots to my rotation. Egg Harbor wins 5 stars for consistency and variety. Many brunch places have great sweet breakfasts, and great savory breakfasts, but no way to combine the two unless you share full entrees with someone. Egg Harbor has a ton of great combos, so for example you could get a half order of Swedish pancakes, but with bacon and eggs too. Or a small skillet, but with a slice of French toast. I appreciate a restaurant that lets me consume all of the major food groups (potatoes, eggs, bacon, maple syrup, and sweet-bread-related-wildcard) in one delicious meal. Last time I went to Egg Harbor, I went all out and ordered Chilaquiles. I'm a sucker for anything green chile, and they were really filling and hit the spot. Not too spicy, but very satisfying. I also had a hot cocoa that had whipped cream and rainbow sprinkles, which was almost too cute for words! My friends raved about the chicken salad sandwich and the banana bread French toast, of which I was able to sneak a bite. (Delish!) I also managed to fulfill my bacon needs for the day by "stealing" a strip off my friend's plate. Mmm, bacon theft. Be aware that Egg Harbor closes at 2:00, so make sure you allow enough time if you plan to go for a late lunch. Great spot to try before an afternoon of shopping at The Glen!

Egg harbor potatoes are all you need to know about to make coming here worth it. Cubed pieces of heaven sprinkled in herbs. Not to mention that the swedish pancakes and french toast varieties are also delicious. All of this combined with some authentic orange juice makes for one damn good breakfast.

I had visited this place last summer (august) as I was meeting up some friends. It was my first visit then and I had ordered an omelet (yes, very lame of me) and I had gotten the spinach and feta omelet. I've had some GREAT omelets before (Walker Bros.) so it was hard for me to rate this place and it's creation of an omelet. It was greaser that I would like it to be, but the rest of the meal was good. The spinach was fresh and you can tell the ingredients were worth a mouth savoring meal. I recently came back to this place for brunch but this time meeting up with some family members. They had made reservations but yet, when I had arrived late (last one of the party-typical) they were still waiting. Yes, it was on a Saturday, and yes it was nice out...but I don't think that's right that when you do make any reservations, you are asked to wait when you arrive. What's the point in making a reservation? Just to fill their books?! Normally, when you make a reservation, they only seat people there until 10-15minutes before another reservation right? Enough about waiting. Once we were seated, our waitress didn't seem like she wanted to be there. We didn't get any friendly "hello's" which I thought was interesting as this place is suppose to be known as family-oriented. She took our order but when the food was ready, she had a handful of people delivering it to our table and they got confused. Mind you, we had a party of 4 adults and 3 kids (which were well behaved) so what was her issue? The food was ok this time, not so great like before. The fruit didn't seem fresh so I didn't even touch it (only because it wasn't fresh), but my daughter could care less and still attacked it. When we left, there was still a line of people outside and inside waiting to be seated. The weather wasn't that nice to be sitting outside, so that could be a reason why there was so many people waiting. Overall, not disappointed in this place. Our server could have been better and if the wait wasn't too long, I'd advise anyone to come try it. It's like a "Mom and Pop" restaurant which is cozy and comfortable.

Very nice place for breakfast. Staff is fantastic. Good hire profile. Today's breakfast was as good as usual. Only issue was that some of the food was not hot. They were great about warming it. They were very busy at the time, and I'm guessing that this does not happen frequently. There was no wait when we got there about 830AM Saturday, a small wait was starting when leaving at 915AM.

(This is really 4.9 stars, but since I can't give fractions, I am comfortable rounding up) Last time I was in Chicagoland I went here for breakfast with my parents. Now, normally I'd go to Walker Brothers, but I had just been in town the month before, so I was up for trying something new. I'm glad I went. Oddly enough, we all ended up ordering the same thing. The special pancake of the day - berry, and granola, sounded great to all of us. And it was delicious. Plenty of juicy blackberries, a fair amount of crunch granola, and a good, basic, pancake base. Good stuff. We all also ended up getting the vanilla coffee of the day. Why? Because mom wanted it, and neither my dad or I had strong opinions any other way, and one pot was as good as multiple pots. It was surprisingly good flavored coffee. I also had a small orange juice, because I am a sucker for fresh squeezed juice. It's no walker bros, but it is darn good.
