Despite being a place offering vegetarian options and lunch that doesn't sit heavy with you through the afternoon, I can only go "meh" about this place. I only go here when 1) I've forgotten my lunch and 2) I'm sick of every other lunch place. First off, this place is just confusing. Where do you start? What toppings? It could use a bit better organization. I swear next time I'm picking out my ingredients ahead of time so I can just list them off. Also, how they go about tallying up any up-charges is beyond me. I think to an extent they just charge you some lump sum. Second, the staff could stand to be a bit friendlier. I know that working a part-time job on the North Shore sucks because of the snooty customers. Trust me, I did it myself as a high-schooler. Still, spare me the stand-off-ish attitude. Third, this place isn't a sit/relax/enjoy a conversation lunch spot. I always take my food to go. If you've totally got your mind set on semi-overpriced wraps around Glenview, go for it. Otherwise if you want a friendlier lunch spot in the Glen, I say stick with Via Gelato.

I went here and discovered that this is *NOT* "Chop't." It has nothing to do with the NYC-DC salad restaurants (besides being a weak & blatant knock-off). Otherwise, it's a typical salad concept. To complain about the price is ridiculous. This is the price you'd pay for a salad at any restaurant, unless or order the side salad. Plus, it's customized to suit your tastes. What is the big deal? HOWEVER ... I, too, ordered the strawberry spinach salad & expected actual fresh strawberries. Instead, I received the kind of strawberries you'd find on a McDonald's sundae: old & syrup-covered. The execution is second-rate. Disinterested employees, less than fresh ingredients, & hey - was that a piece of bacon in my salad? Not cool for a vegetarian. How is that sanitary? One caveat worth mentioning: dressing on the side (but be sure to insist long before the process or they'll pull a Chipotle & just start adding it out of repetition). That way, when you take the salad home, the greens won't wilt ... unless, of course, you have sugary-sweet strawberry syrup on them.

This place is a bit of a joke. I've always thought a decent make-your-own salad joint would be a slam dunk especially in a place like Glenview. It's hard to screw up, but this place has managed to do it. The salad was over-chopped. Go figure. By the time this fella was done chopping I needed a spoon to eat the salad. It also had a really unpleasant slimy texture to it. I'd suggest they start with bigger chunks of veggies rather than the pre-chopped kind so that the salad ends up with a little texture. My biggest complaint was the employees. This squad of college-aged boys was pretty remarkable. If the slimy salad wasn't unappetizing enough, watching the gentleman who made it rub his crotch repeatedly while standing around behind the counter definitely put made me lose my appetite. These morons were so preoccupied with watching football, talking on their cell phones, and punching eachother in the balls that they blatantly ignored customers when they came in. It was like an SNL sketch.

The chopped salad was awesome! I'm a chopped-salad fan. Maybe it's just that I'd never been to a place that does this kind of thing so I was enthralled when I saw the chopping happen. I did it at home a few times since because it's a cool way to eat a salad. Employees were broad-faced and glassy-eyed and asked the salad questions really quietly, which was kind of weird. I got the mood that a crime had been perpetrated earlier in the day or something. Unlikely but that was the vibe. Didn't stop me from enjoying my take-out buffalo chicken salad. I also got a small cup of turkey chili that was adequate.

This place is a vegetarian's paradise, let me tell you. I avoid soy, tofu, and all that other fake meat, but I can come to Chop it Up and get a really filling wrap with plenty of protein without having to add real or fake meat. It's wonderful. This place is generally empty, which boggles my mind. It's delicious. Definitely worth checking out. Mondays you get an extra two ingredients for the same price. I'm bummed they got rid of the punch card, but that's not going to deter me from coming back. Thank you for existing. I would also like to point out that this is close enough to Walgreens Corporate that you can easily take your lunch break here.

My second time here in the span of about that many years. I enjoyed it the first time I went and enjoyed it even more the second time. The ambiance is nothing to write home about. Corny food-themed wall art and Telemundo on the TV doesn't bother me as long as I have someone to talk to, otherwise I'd skip eating in. I had the BBQ chicken wrap. It was gigantic and filled me up for the rest of the day and well into the night. I'm sure it wasn't exactly health food, but once in a while it's good to splurge. I appreciate the variety of teas available. Making an Arnold Palmer was never more inviting. Paying as much as I did for lunch? Not very inviting. I can spend half as much and eat far healthier.

Fresh and delicious! I like that they have options for both make-your-own salad and house specialties.

I was charged a higher price than the one displayed on the menu on the wall. I was told, "Sorry. We haven't changed the prices on the wall.

I almost walked out as soon as I ordered my wrap. There were two workers and both of them were so rude I couldn't believe it. I asked what kind of wrap tortillas were available and he didn't say one word but just pointed at a list in front of the counter that was so small I could barely see. Then he asked "What do you want?"... even at McDonald's their employees are trained to talked politely to customers with the right word choices. Other employee was singing so loud I thought I wasnt in the restaurant....

I was in the area running some errands when I found this place. It is veggie friendly but don't let the "Vegetarian" label scare you away of you're not of that preference. They have plenty of meat options as well. They just cover all their bases. The atmosphere is clean and modern looking with good acoustics so although it feels like you're in a big place, you don't have to shout over everybody. I didn't know what was good because nobody specified anything in particular so I went for the first thing on the menu BBQ Chicken Tortilla wrap. Oh my god is it packed full and delicious, and not messy at all. Another thing that is really neat is for every item they offer the option to have it in a wrap, or make a salad of it. And all their ingredients are fresh and delicious. I will definitely be coming here more often on my lunch breaks.

Light and fresh. That's what a couple coworkers and I wanted for lunch. Chop't came to mind. We had never been here before. The menu of salads, wraps, and sammiches was extensive, and if you didn't see anything that called to you, you could create your own masterpiece. I tried the strawberry spinach salad wrap, which was refreshing, but I wasn't crazy about the syrupy strawberries in it. Fresh strawberries would have been da bomb... especially since it cost a hefty $9. Overall, didn't love it or hate it.

The workers are great and remember you if you come in more than once! They always ensure your salad is exactly how you want it and make friendly conversation with you. Love them! When it's nice out they have outdoor seating in the glen town center, staff will come out and check on you occasionally if they aren't busy!!

It's a shame when I bought the Tuna Garden with some chips and paid almost $12 for it that I thought it sounded expensive, I checked the board for the pricing and it said $8.20 for the wrap and not the $9 he charged me... I mention it and he owner says that's the old pricing and I just bought the place and the prices are going up more when he puts up the new pricing next week.... Lol really??? Also Quiznos has better tuna and that's not saying much

When I walked in I wasn't sure anyone was working, but as I approached the order area I noticed two people, playing on their phones. I don't really care what employees do at work when no one is there, so it didn't bother me, but me being there while they were on their phones, bothered them. I was immediately rushed, but there wasn't anyone else there and they weren't closing for another 2 hours, so I was confused. The menu overwhelmed me, there is a lot to check out, which would have been okay if I wasn't being rushed. I wasn't even ready to order but they kept saying "you ready?" every few seconds. I mentioned it was my first time thinking they would give me some time to make my decision but they kept pushing me to hurry up, and pick the next item. It wasn't like I was taking my sweet time, I had only been in there for 3 minutes. (I noticed the time when I walked in) eventually I got frustrated and gave up on trying to pick out ingredients and just paid for my salad. The ingredients were good, and their turkey chili was decent, had the service been better I may have given 4 stars, but it was obvious they were eager for me to leave the counter. After I sat, and began to eat, they went back to their phones, and watching the TV that was in the place, which leads me to believe that they rushed me to keep watching Tv and play on their phones. I don't think I'll come back anytime soon.

I'm not infatuated by this place anymore, but it's still worth a spot in the second-tier lunch rotation. I just don't get over to The Glen that often, and the place isn't as wonderful as I once thought. Sometimes I still crave a big salad though. A few notes that I've observed over the last year or so: PROS 1. The punch card--ten salads or wraps gets you a free one 2. Mondays you get six choppings for the price of four 3. Outdoor seating (if you like that sort of thing) CONS 1. The staff is inscrutable at best, sometimes aloof 2. The inside isn't terribly welcoming for someone who prefers to sit down to read at lunch like I do. It's sort of cavernous and echoey, and doesn't have much charm. 3. Sometimes the tables aren't clean; this is SO basic--get with the program, Chop It Up 4. I still think that the prices are $0.50-$1.00 more than they should be

I went to Chop It Up a year ago. Our experience was so-so - food was ok and the service and ambiance could be better. This seems to be a common theme among other reviewers. A deal from Double Take Offers came up for Chop It Up so I decided to get that and give this place another try. I went to use the deal last week. Ordered 4 sandwiches and when I went to pay, they would not accept the deal because the store's ownership recently changed. He said that he would receive no money for this transaction. I get that, but the sandwiches were already made and sitting in a bag. Either way, he was out the money for 4 sandwiches but a gesture of good will would be to let me use what I paid for... again, the sandwiches were ALREADY MADE. But instead, he insisted that he would find someone who could eat them. In the process, he also lost a customer.

I was in the area for work and looking for a quick, healthy bite. Being that this is in a great area-I expected great things. When I walked in, I went to where it said "Order Here". I stood there for quite some time while the two guys behind the counter just looked at me like I was crazy and didn't say anything. I finally walked over and asked them where I order. I proceeded with my order and then they talked amongst themselves and walked away a couple times and came back. I was the only person in line. It still took awhile for them to "get it together". There were boxes stacked up everywhere behind the counter and things did not look entirely clean. I stayed and ate my salad, which was actually not bad. But-I was there at Noon during what should be the rush and it was completely dead. There was no music, no ambiance to this place at all. I witnessed customers being criticized by the two employees for asking to leave certain things off of their order. It's a real shame-great concept, healthy food and a great location. But-lacking the essentials for success-friendly, professional employees, ambiance and cleanliness. P.S.-I have never written a review on Yelp-but there were so many issues that I created a profile and wrote this review before I left this place!

I came here between the lunch hour and early dinner hour on a Friday -- not prime time exactly, but completely quiet and I was the only patron there. When I walked in I wasn't sure if anyone was working there. There were two guys sitting at a table watching TV. I must have stood there for 30 seconds before one of them came over. (Were they hoping I would leave so they wouldn't be interrupted from watching their show?) I ordered a roast beef sandwich, which came with roasted red peppers and blue cheese and mayo, that was it. No lettuce or tomatoes, nor was I asked if I wanted anything else on it. The menu clearly said it came with sourdough bread, but they put it on plain white bread! The guy behind the counter acted like it was a bother for him to be doing his job and didn't say one word to me until it was time to pay. You have to be very wary of any fast food that will put a "tip jar" right in front of their cash register when you go to pay. However this was a very tall tip container, clearly filled up by the owner and in a transparent blue glass to make you feel like you were expected to offer one. To me this place is sleazy, and I wouldn't go there again. Don't waste your money, either.

I couldn't tell you how the food is here because the worker at the counter was so rude I walked out. I asked a couple of questions about the menu and I was clearly bothering the guy, so I decided to take my money and business somewhere else.

Unsure why this location is listed as closed because we were just here yesterday and go here regularly every couple of days. We love the freshness of their salads. There is a good variety of different options available, dressings etc. they recently also got a new machine for freshly squeezed OJ which is slightly better than an establishment down the street except it is not organic. If you get one of their frequent visitor cards, you get free salad after the 10th salad.

Soup is terrible. Minestrone Soup has no taste, watered down, super hot, as in boiling. Over priced for 8 oz,

So, we went for lunch. There was one person working. He worked hard but one employee at lunch at a lunch place (soup, salads, sandwiches)? It took FOREVER to get service. The menu is crazy limited--one soup and a bunch of options you can have in a bowl or in a wrap. That part is OK...it is what it is. But the service was crummy--not the ONE guy's fault. People kept getting tired of waiting, and they left. I don't know how this place stays in business. Anyway, our group of three had two salads and one wrap (and a smoothie). The salads are chopped, and pretty monotonous. My husband asked for the shrimp option on his Asian salad. They were out of shrimp. So, he said, "OK, I'll have the steak." Out of that, too. It was chicken or nothing. This place is in The Glen, where there have to be twenty places to eat lunch. I would recommend going to another one. If you just want a salad or a sandwich, Pot Belly is cheaper, faster and better.

The salad, wrap, as well as soup is excellent! This place is called Fresh Wrap now! I challenge you to give it a try! It's excellent for a healthy takeout! Also it's not vegetarian if you want to add meat you can, if choosing to go meatless they accommodate to that as well. The only thing missing is gluten free, it would be quite easy to incorporate corn wraps!

Get in my belly! After hearing coworkers jump on the Chop't Up bandwagon, I thought I'd give it a shot. I was pleasantly surprised that after a relatively short wait, I had an amazing salad placed before me. For my first visit, I went with one of their signature salads, the BBQ Chicken Tortilla, which included iceberg lettuce, black beans, sweet corn, tomatoes, scallions, monterey jack cheese, crispy tortilla strips and BBQ chicken. The salad itself was double that of any other local joint and all the ingredients were very fresh and flavorful... which for me, justified the $9 price tag. Why only three stars, you ask? Well, I think their ordering process and customer service lacks finesse. When I walked in, I didn't really understand where I was supposed to go or how I was to order my salad. It was very confusing which was made even worse by the fact that nobody on staff made any attempt to guide me. I should never have to ask to order a meal. What ever happened to "can I talk your order?" When I approached the register to check out, the gentleman ringing through my order, who also appeared to be a manager, seemed very disinterested and never even asked if I wanted a drink. I didn't so that was fine but I found it a bit odd that he rang me up before ever speaking a word to me.

People are so hard on this place. I think it's a pretty good value and the food is always consistent. People...you're not going to eat at a white tablecloth restaurant. Be realistic.

If you ever find yourself wondering the Glenview area, and you have a taste for fresh, healthy food, you should stop by this place. They have so many tasty salads and wraps to choose from, it is hard to decide what to order. I would consider it fast food, but think moderate-fast like Noodles and Company not, mind-blowing fast like Taco Bell. It is about $10 for a salad and a drink, but you will have a full and happy belly when you leave.

Just okay and way over priced. I went here because of the groupon deal. I got a wrap and a bag of veggie chips and it cost over $9. the wrap was a nice size but the chicken was dry. Overall it just wasn't good enough to make me want to go back and pay also $10 and not even get a drink.

Such a cool place! Basically like a Subway-slash-Sweet-Tomatoes, with a Coldstone-like execution. A little bit hard to understand what's going on, and how to order, but after about 5 minutes, I was able to place my order. You can either order your own creation, or choose from a menu; once you choose, they stuff everything into a bowl, mix, then chop on a large, counter-shaped cutting board, drizzle dressing, and serve. Very popular, so had to wait a lot in line, but I think it's worth it. HUGE servings - seriously, one salad is worth two meals. The endless veggie and dressing and topping options was a bit crazy, but I want to try all of them. Their creamy cilantro dressing is yummy. Their antipasto has a bit too much salami. Their mac and cheese is $4 and NOT WORTH IT. All they did was heat up some cheese and throw it with Kraft noodles, and stick a fork in it. Eh. The service was very good, especially the fact that there was a huge line, and only 4 people working behind the scenes. For sure will come again, if only to try as much of the options as possible.

I received a gift card for Chop It Up awhile ago and finally decided to use it. When I arrived, nobody was in the restaurant. I found the menu overwhelming and wasn't welcomed by anyone working there. Not knowing where to start the ordering process was confusing, and when I finally figured it out it took the workers somewhere in the ballpark of 10min to make my salad- I had to remind them about my sandwich. The sandwich was extremely underwhelming, but my salad was great. In retrospect, with the menu selection of DIY salad ingredients- that's what you should get there. Their sandwiches should be taken off the menu. All in all, the cons outweigh the pros with this place. I can't imagine how long it would take them to make my meal on a busy day.

I went here last night with a friend since I had a coupon for a buy-one-get-one-free. I got a Spinach Strawberry salad, which came in a HUGE bowl. The servings here are huge, I've never felt so full after a salad. As the other reviewer mentioned, I felt for the $9 I'm paying for a salad, they would put fresh strawberries in instead of canned syrupy strawberries. The flavor of the salad itself was phenomenal; a delicious mix fresh spinach paired with the strawberries and dressing, and a nuttiness from the walnuts enhanced by the cheese. We had some fruit flies buzzing around us that seriously put a damper on things. I know that they probably can't help having some fruit flies around with their array of fresh vegetables and summertime weather, but they still grossed me out. Also, as mentioned, service here is mediocre. The manager didn't attempt to be friendly to the customers at all. The workers make up for it, but if you are new, then it can be a bit overwhelming. I probably wouldn't come back again if I didn't have a coupon.

I enjoy eating lunch at this place. It is a healthier option than most and there is enough selection to keep me coming back. I have had lunch here about a dozen times and I have never noticed a problem with the service. My favorite menu item is the Antipasto Wrap which is usually a large enough serving where I don't need chips or a cookie. The biggest problem is the price-it usually costs $10 with a drink, but considering that it always tastes good, is fresh, and is healthy I don't mind spending a little bit more than I would at a generic sandwich shop.

Healthy, fresh, and best salads around. There is no where to really go and get a big salad in the suburbs. It is kind of like being in NY. Great place!
