We have been showing up to Stockholms at least twice a month for the last 14 years. Great neighborhood place where you always feel welcomed. Seasonal choices in the summer are great. Extremely friendly staff. We have been to all the Geneva -St. Charles restaurants, and we always return to Stockholms. I have yet to bad a bad experience, highly recommend.

Mike the owner is so friendly and always greets his customers with a smile. One of the best burgers in town and the loaded baked potato soup is heavenly, especially in the winter!

Do not come here for the beer. It is bad. None of us wanted to even finish our beers. Maybe their food is good because there were people there but I can't imagine anyone even remotely serious about craft beer would come back again.

Quaint, side bar atmosphere with quality background tunes and an approachable and sociable staff. We didn't partake in any food during a recent check-in, but everything we saw flying out of the kitchen appeared pretty tantalizing. We came for the cocktails, of which the beer failed miserably. Their take on Moscow Mules was solid, but their "old world" hand crafted micro-brews were hardly appealing. We went with the flight as to get a sample of their housemade offerings, but were hard pressed to find an enjoyable drinker. Every beer we tried was watery, either too bitter or too bland, or an uncomplimentary concoction of two house brews. We ended up having many taken away, with a gracious discount to the check. All due to respect to the brewmaster, but the recipes need some dialing up and retooling. We'll definitely stop back, but there's no hurry...

On our rotation and rarely let's us down. Have had 4 of the sandwiches...all really great. My wife loves the salmon fiesta salad. Great value. Craft beers are mid-tier but food, atmosphere, location make it always a fun time.

At Stockholm's you can buy beer brewed on site, and it's very good, but who would suspect that the food in this little tavern could be so delicious? They have a shockingly good chef . The service is always friendly, the atmosphere is bar-ish tavern, and the food is delicious. It's one of my favorite casual dining spots.

The only Swedish dish they have are the Swedish meatballs. And those are only Swede-ISH. Disappointing. Not going back.

My wife and I went back here this past weekend. Abiding by my first review here, we stayed away from the beer, but ate some very piquant food. We started out with the Papas Italiano. I broke my rule about ordering handmade chips out, as they can be unpredictable and made easily at home. But these were cut and cooked perfectly, topped with creamy cheese, prosciutto, and some sort of garlic concoction. Really good. We moved on to the soups, gumbo and french onion. Both were good. The gumbo had the taste down well, but comparing it to true NOLA gumbo, the texture fell a little flat. It was more of a soup than a gumbo. Good none the less. The french onion fell into a similar category. Tasted good, but a little different... not enough Worcestershire maybe? Either way, I'd eat either again. Main course... we had Swedish meatballs and diablo shrimp. I'll save the best for last. The swedish meatballs were good, although I thought possible a bit under seasoned. My wife on the other hand, being more of a connoisseur on this type of food, found them to be seasoned very traditionally and quite enjoyable. The sauce may have been a bit "different", a little thin maybe. I probably wouldn't order it again for the following reason... DIABLO SHRIMP. This pasta was wow. Nice big (possibly) Gulf shrimp, tender and meaty, not old tasting or mushy. The creamy sauce was "yes please", and very "I'm stuffed". Check this place out, but don't forget to heed my first reviews warning!

Celebrated with a delightful lunch - mushroom risotto out of this world, steak perfectly cooked - desserts sinful! Hats off to Chef Jerry and his team, especially Lisa! We will b back!

I came here for the beer. I love places that make their own beer and am a huge craft beer guy. I was disappointed. I got the Aeger's Ale while I was there and it tasted like there was something wrong with it. Based on the other reviews it kind of sounds like the beer just isn't very good. It tasted like they didn't use clean equipment to make it and there was a sour or off taste. I ordered a growler of the Downtown Honey Brown to take home thinking that might be better. It was slightly better but still had a funky off taste like something went wrong during the process. I definitely would not go back for beer. I had a burger while there. It was okay. Nothing special, but the only reason I'm not giving a one star. There are better places to go in the area for food and beer.

Went here before but today it was really bad beer. Everything was bitter and it seems they're not admitting they are serving a bad batch of beers. Nothing taste like it should.

Ate here last night, I ordered the ribs which were absolutely delicious. Fall off the bone tender. I ordered a few bears one called the viking red ale and it was just OK. Second beer was a pilsner same result. Food is good beer is iffy.

The only thing good about this bar was the Pappas Italliano, which is the only thing we finished that we ordered. We just came from Penrose Brewing Company and thought we would try another brewery in Geneva. Stockholm's let us down. The beers were flat and bitter. they had no head, no carbonation and all tasted sour. I would not go back, nor recommend anyone to go here for the beer.

My friend and I stopped at Stockholm's for the last half of the Bears game on a Sunday. I'm not much of a beer drinker but we decided to stop in anyway. It was a little crowded but we were able to get seats at the bar. Our service was good despite the fact that they were busy, the bartender was attentive and we got our food out fairly fast. After reading some of the reviews I guess this was because we sat at the bar. Since it is a brewery we both ordered beers. I got the "blend of silk" which is 1/3 of their downtown honey brown and two thirds Lorazz. I didn't like it much, it was too bitter and too dark. I also tried Lorazz Weiss just by itself, which was better. The food was better than the beer though! And since I'm not a beer expert I'll base my rating on the food. We ordered the baked goat cheese to share and it was excellent. I would definitely recommend it. When we ran out of bread we ate the cheese with our forks it was so good. My friend ordered the Cesar salad and the French onion soup which she said were both good. I tried the salad and enjoyed it because it was a vinegar based dressing, not cream. I ordered the chicken wings which were good as well. They were not breaded and crispy, with the right amount of sauce, not dry at all. I also asked for a taste of their home made root beer and it was awesome!! All in all I will be back and probably try something else, like one of their homemade soups which looked awesome. I would get a root beer and possibly a Lorazz, but either way go!

Stopped in for a quick bite and a beer. I will give 5stars to the staff as they were very attentive. I had the California club. I thought it was good . Unfortunately I ended up with food poisoning and to me that reflects on how food is handled. I wouldn't recommend as a eatery.

Every time we come here it's been 100% on point, owner/management/servers make you feel at home, you definitely have to try the hard root beer best I've ever had, and all the food is too good to choose between. Stockholm's is the hidden gem in Geneva foodies search for!! A+

Great food, amazing staff, little known fact, this amazing little pub does take out. Well known fact, they have the best homemade root beer in the solar system.

This place does NOT serve greasy bar food. The food is high quality and outstanding. Especially if you're looking to eat healthy and clean, which their menu accommodates. Their salads are huge, and their salmon is wild caught and delicious. The staff is always friendly and welcoming; it truly feels like your "Cheers" kind of place. Give the food a try if you haven't yet. One of my favorite restaurants in Geneva. 5 stars!

Cook is just hilarious and so helpful! He always gives excellent suggestions. I like only a few of their beers but the old-fashions. They are perfect! I have had three absolutely tasty meals here. A bit small but worth the wait.

Terrible service. After taking our order, our server disappeared for over 45 minutes. We had to ask someone to check on our food just to get our server to re-appear. It took over an hour to get a wrap and an italian beef sandwich. The tables around us were neglected as well. I would understand if the place was busy, but, it was not.

Do NOT get appitizer! i.e. bacon wrapped bacon. It had 4 regular (NOT jumbo) shrimps with little bacon around it on top of a jinsy corn salsa for $13! It was a rip off. It wasn't great, just shrimp with burnt bacon around it. Other than that, the entree was good, decent price and big portion. Water was dripping from the exposed airducts above our table. Luckily it wasn't crowded so we moved ourselves. The service was okay. Husband liked the beer, but he said it isn't too special.

Went here with a group of family members, expecting Scandinavian food, beer and decor. Other than the Scandinavian country flags on the patio out back and perhaps a few interior decorations, there is nothing Scandinavian about this place. On their website, they also describe themselves as upscale, but casual. I think casual dive is more appropriate. We were a group of 7, so I can't detail the appetizers, dinner, beer and wine we sampled, but the consensus opinion was that the food was marginal and overpriced. What I can say is that the only Scandanavian entree I saw on the menu was Swedish meatballs. Someone ordered those and thought they were probably not made there. The only reason I gave it two stars instead of one is that the owner and staff were very friendly and attentive. Then again, given what they charge, if I were the owner I'd be very friendly and attentive, too!! Fortunately, we don't live anywhere near here, so I don't have to worry about remembering not to go back...

Went here for lunch today for the first time. It is nice inside with a lot of high top tables. Service was slow. The bartender was also our server. She was very rushed the entire time. Took a while to put our order in. I was very disappointed in the clam chowder. It was very very watery. My SIL liked her mushroom soup. The broth is basically French onion soup broth and was good. I got the chicken salad sandwich, it was a-ok so will probably switch it up next time. My SILs veggie wrap looked really good. They do have soup and half sandwich options as well for lunch which is nice.

I really liked this place. I had the mushroom burger which was really good. The artichoke dip was awesome. Not a lot of room so it's wise to go here during off hours or be patient. I don't drink so I don't know how good the beer is. I will be back.

I've loved coming here since I was a kid. The soup is what makes me return! The fresh potato and cheese soup is one of the best I've had! Very fun to see they have beer classes since they brew their own beer.

Every month I look forward to the new additions added to their menu! This place cares about food not just drinks. Food and service for a "bar" is top notch. The food here is above exceptions and the service follows. Is this place a bar? Kind of. Can you dine here with your family, yes! Will you leave happy? Of course!
The previous tenant in this building was "Dad's Place", a kind of "Out Of Place" locals dive bar in downtown Geneva. What I am referring to is Geneva is all about trendy restaurants, specialty shops, fancy coffee and antiques! Today the Vibe remains the same inside retaining the vintage look and feel. It has been shined up a bit and serves a variety of beers and some decent food. A great place for a Red Ale and a Steak Sandwich. The food is definately better than your normal pub grub. The original bar and back drop remains in the narrow floor plan. This joint is small and it gets busy fast. Park behind the building to avoid the hastle and congestion of State Street. I have only one negative isue with this place. To be completely fair, I am a repeate customer many times over and can attest to the fact that the Buffalo Wing appetizer ALWAYS tastes like the freezer...you know what I'm talking about. So I have finally given up on these and continue to order my Red Ale & Steak Sandwich..."medium rare please with extra grilled onion". Everything else is all good!

Somebody needs to teach them how to brew. Hey, I'll do it! The beer here is just plain awful. If you are a craft beer drinker you might be drawn to a place like this because they brew their own beer, but the beer is just not good. The burgers my wife and I had were decent at best.
(2)
Jodie W.
It's tiny, so weekends are crowded. I like the outdoor deck area. The lobster salad is very good and reasonably priced. The beer is nothing special. I got a panini there and it was way too buttery. The Cajun soup was also just okay. The staff is great. Nice historic building.

I wish I could rate this a 3.5. The bad: The beer......if you are a beginner beer drinker, this place might be for you but I consider myself a beer snob and none of their brews sounded interesting or complex. I tried the brown ale......it was just okay - would never order again. There was no lacing on the glass so either the glass was dirty or the beer wasn't quality. The good: The food.....2 of us ordered a salad, they were GIANT and delicious! A friend ordered the tacos and like them a lot - and my husband ordered a wrap and enjoyed it but has had better. The service was decent, the atmosphere is just ok - not really my place but looks can be deceiving because the food was much better than expected.

Had lunch here on a Saturday with my boyfriend. The food was very good and the servers were nice. The crab cakes are delicious. I had one of their beers, and I liked it very much. I am not a craft brew snob, so maybe my tastes are not as refined as some other reviewers.

How did I not know they were a brewery? This whole time? Where have I been? Anyway, had a GREAT time on Saturday with my sister, little nephew (they have a kids menu) and my mom. I had the filet mignon sandwich - it was AWESOME. The ribs were tasty and the french onion soup is awesome. Also, the salad is great with the garlic vinaigrette. It was busy, we waited about 30 minutes, but it did clear out fast. Highly recommend it!

Excellent service and food. Beer brewed on site. Can't rave about the beer. Full service bar. Homemade soups and variety of entrees and appetizers. Not your usual pub food. The chef combines foods and flavors for a tasty meal.

BEST BURGER EVER! Every single time I've ordered it over the past few years it has been cooked perfectly and tastes great. Also love the baked potato soup and BLT's. As much as I love their food, I personally don't care for their beers. But keep it positive on this place, the food is outstanding!

What a great find! Wanted to eat at Geneva Ale House but it had a 40min wait. Walked across the street to this neighborhood gem and couldn't be happier. Manager is the nicest guy on the planet. The bartender was helpful. And the food was amazing. Best Reuben I have EVER had! And I have had a lot.

We learned about this place from an article in the West Suburban magazine, or something with a similar title - it was talking about the places that brew their own beers in the suburbs. Having been to Two Brothers, Lunar, and some of the others, this place was new to me and my little band of supper club friends so we decided to give it a go. We came in a bit after 5 on a Friday afternoon and the place was packed - there was actually a guy at the door directing people, and when we walked in, we realized why. This place is pretty tiny. If it holds 50 people, I'd be surprised - the bar is along one side and then there are a few tables on the opposite. We were packed in pretty well. Service was good but verging on kind of annoying - you know, that kind of constant checking in - two of us got there a bit later after the other two members of the party and we needed a minute to get situated and it seemed like a problem for our server that we weren't ready to order our drinks fast enough or that we only wanted an appetizer, at least at that point. I think we might have been inclined to stay a little longer if it hadn't felt like we were being rushed out. Yes, we realize it was moderately, but not ridiculously, busy but we like to try new things and we will come back to places that are good so that may keep us from doing so. Anyway, in terms of food, we had the Papas Italiano, which is a plate of potato chips smothered in a cheesy cream sauce of doom - like, seriously, I think we were about to thumb wrestle to see which member of our party was going to be the one to lick the plate clean, it was that good - and then with bacon and tomatoes. This was pretty fantastic and I'd be inclined, if I was given enough time, to come back and try some more of the food items. As for the beers, I tried the Blend of Silk, which is a combo of their Downtown Honey Brown and the LoRazz Weiss. It was very light and refreshing and pretty tasty. There was also, if I remember correctly, a red ale that some folks tried that they rather enjoyed. The other was the pilsner and maybe we've all been drinking too many other heavier beers but this one tasted pretty watery - very light and maybe the kind of thing to put away a lot of but not our favorite. There's potential here and we are debating whether to go back or not but the service was a bit obnoxious and something to consider if you're coming at a time that is normally busy. Don't linger, or at least make it look like you're going to order a full dinner, or it may not be as cozy as some of the other reviews make it sound.

Quite honestly not a big fan of their beer (they brew their own) The food is good, great comfort food. Service was very good, friendly accommodating staff. Improve the beer and we may be back.

Food was over priced and mediocre, paid $15 for fish and chips and received gross tiny frozen pieces of fish and found several hairs in my pasta dish and was never compensated, I love micro breweries and their beer was decent but all tasted the same. I've been here twice and still was not very impressed. A lot of the menu is misleading or a lie, I ordered a hand made burger but was defiantly a frozen patty.

Hands down the worst brewpub beer I have ever had. In summary- terrible beer and awful service- didn't even get to the food. Let me start by saying that I love microbrewed beer and believe in supporting local businesses. It pains me to give a bad review of this place. My GF and I stopped into Stockholm's on Sunday for a beer and some food. The place was pretty full, but we grabbed a couple of seats at the almost empty bar. I ordered a porter and she ordered a pilsner. The Staff was clearly busy and not too attentive to us- no big deal. After we ordered we heard someone request that the Sox game be changed to soccer- the server said that there was a person watching the game- when she delivered our beers, we informed her that we too were watching the game. So the beer came- the porter looked good- dark w/a nice head. The Pilsner, not so much- it was cloudy and orange- not a good sign. We tasted our beers and at the same time said- "My God this is terrible!" The strongest flavor from the porter was DIRTY TAP LINES!!! The pislner was slightly better, but still overwhelming taste of dirty lines. While we were grimacing over the taste of the beer a different server come over and asked if she could turn the channel to the soccer game. Even though I found this request to be pretty rude since we had already indicated that we were watching the game- I said sure- change the channel. Based on the nasty condition of the tap lines, we opted not to get any food and decided to pay for our beers and leave. After being ignored by the servers for another 5 to 10 minutes we were finally able to get our checks and leave. I have spoken with a couple of folks since this occurrence and they said that the food there is decent.

From the outside you see Stockholms and think "cute neighborhood bar". And inside, it is. But the food that comes out of the Stockholm's kitchen must be dusted with gold and anything but cute. It is simply fantastic. I enjoy eating here at least once a week and could do so for lunch everyday. Anything on the menu is wonderful. The employees are amazing and you can tell that they really love their establishment, which is as it should be. The owner is always present at dinner time to help with seating and you will not meet a more conscientious man. The drinks are just as good. I love telling businesses when they are doing a great job---Stockholm's you are always an A+ to me. I could sit and linger in this neighborhood bar for a very long time and feel like I'm on the Cheers show. I've been to Cheers in Boston---Stockholm's in Geneva is better.

I got the stuffed potato soup and it was just ok. It was good, but to be honest, it was kinda bland and I only had about 4 pieces of potato in it! It could have been really good it had more potato and cheese. My fiance did like the beer flight he had though. He said the burger was just ok.

Yuck! We went to Stockholm's on Saturday for Lunch and it smelled terribly inside. We ate outside and the food was fair but service was slow. I wouldn't have minded the service or food but the smell was just horrible. My family and I would go inside and smell the place again while we were there and it was just too horrible.

A solid little bar with great food. It's small -- some of those restaurants on State St are bigger than they look, but not Stockholm's, but we found a seat table pretty easily -- good timing. Shared the Papas Italiano as an appetizer which are totally delicious and seriously fattening, I'm sure -- they are homemade chips with a load of cheese sauce, bacon and scallions. Yum. I had the buffalo chicken wrap, which was tasty and cheesy and large, though not quite as spicy as I might have liked. The husband had a burger, which he said was quite good and nicely medium. And our friend with us had a Reuben he declared adequate (he is a Reuben connoisseur) and tried the Aiger Ale, which he very much enjoyed. My husband and I aren't really beer drinkers, though we did both try his, and it was pretty good. So maybe next time I'll have to try the LoRazz. It being Swedish Days, it was pretty busy; we got good service and a lot of checking in, though it wasn't effusive. We didn't linger because there were people waiting for tables. But the next time we venture out to Geneva, I'll say we'd definitely hit up Stockholm's again. Good stuff.

We had lunch at Stockholm's and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. We had the place to ourselves, except for what looked like the regulars all saddled up to the bar. The service was fabulous, quick, and attentive. The food was adequate. Not spectacular, but definitely good. We've had the Papas Italiano before as an appetizer and although worth the binge, you will need to purge for 2 consecutive days to make up for the caloric intake. The beer is the best part of this place. If you aren't into beer get a pint of Lorazz Weiss and you might be a beer person going forward. The Lorazz Weiss is refreshing and berry flavorful. Or, better yet order a sampler and chose from two flights of decent beer which is what I did. If you are a Pale Ale person (you hoppy people know who you are) you won't find something to keep you entirely satisfied but I would suggest the Aigers Ale to get you by.

I was excited to see beer and sweedish meatballs on the menu but was greatly disappointed in the quality of the food. The beer was ok, the IPA had a strange aftertaste. The meatballs were horrible. They were overcooked and had no flavor. They were obviously leftovers and have been sitting in the cooler a bit too long. The owner came by to see how things were and I told him how the meatballs were bad and he just said "I'm sorry to hear that". He also said he doesn't check on what goes on in the kitchen much which seems weird. He gave me no incentive to come back, which is upsetting because my wife and I don't get to eat out much. I won't be giving them any more business.

Walking into Stockholm's I got a nice vibe. It is small, but I like that... at least when it is not crowded. There is a lot of wood. The bar, chairs, and tables were all solid and comfortable. We came to try the beer, so we ordered a sampler. They had the wide selection of beers split into two "voyages" of five beers each. Voyage I: Lorazz Weiss - crisp, I don't know if I would have guessed that it was supposed to be raspberry without being told, but it was tart. Downtown Honey Brown - watery tasting; taste does not resemble the "brown" style. The hint of honey was interesting. Blend of the Silk - they blended the Lorazz and Honey Brown together for this. I did not really like them separately, but this was actually a tiny bit more drinkable. State Street Pilsner - tastes like slightly sour water Mike's Blend - blend of Third Street Ale and State Street Pilsner. I thought the Pilsner killed this blend, but I later found out that it was all bad to begin with. Although I tried to keep an open mind, by this point I was really underwhelmed by the beers so far. They all seemed to have the same sourness to them. I had high hopes for the second voyage because it beckoned me with names that were more my style. Voyage II: Doc's Porter - terrible!, sour. Other than the color, it did not resemble a porter in any way. Older But Wiesser - more of the same sourness. As unbelievable as it may sound it tasted a lot like the porter. Aegir's Ale - same sour taste. I could not believe it. S.W.B. - blend of Doc's and Aegir's. Billed as as an English bitter style, but it really just tasted sour and watery like its component parts. Third Street Ale - same sour taste As we realized that all the beer tasted the same, we decided to do a blind taste test. One of us would hand two beers to the other who had their eyes closed. Tasting both, we would try to guess which they were. Over and over we found that it was IMPOSSIBLE. The most telling result was when my wife took a sip of the "porter" and confidently announced, "this is definitely not the porter". There is something seriously wrong if a porter tastes the same as a weiss. We actually abandoned ship on the second voyage. The beer was so bad that we could not bear to finish the samples. Stockholm's has a good selection of liquor, so I ordered a scotch to wash out the taste of bad beer. Note: The only good beer that we had was the root beer. It had a nice taste and smooth mouth feel. I liked that it was not too carbonated. While we were voyaging through the "beer", we also sampled some food. It was the high point of our visit. Tenderloin Stuffed Portabella Mushroom - very tasty, cheese flavor dominates Porcini soup - good! Reminds me of French onion with mushrooms in it. Blackened Mahi sandwich - tasty Overall, I would not recommend this place for beer. The food is good and the service was friendly, even as we started getting cranky about the beer. Since I am very much about the beer, I will not be returning to Stockholm's.

All I can say about Stockholm's is this is the real deal! The food is so good here. The soups are the best you will find. The steak sandwich will have you coming back for more. The only thing I can say I didn't care for are the beers they make. But everything I've had is so good.

Great (actually very kid friendly) pub. Food is great, micro-brews have great flavor, and the ?manger? is typically around, always with a smile on his face. Our Fav restaurant since moving to the area two years ago from Chicago. Go check them out!

I went to Stockholm's this evening with my wife and son. I had a burger and fries, no complaints, all in all a very good burger. My wife had the spinach pasta. It was pretty good as well and the portion was quite large so we ended up bringing half home with us. The pasta came with a salad which was ok. My son ordered a half slab of ribs, fries, and the house made root beer. The ribs were excellent and the fries very good as well. Instead of a salad he got the seafood gumbo which was also very good. If I had ordered a Sam Adams or something along those lines I would have given four stars. Unfortunately I ordered the house pale ale (I am actually not sure if they serve anything other than their local brew) and it was along the lines of a Leinenkugel Pale Ale, which is NOT a compliment. To me the beer had no character whatsoever, was watered down, only mildly carbonated, and no real flavor to speak of. I will definitely go back to Stockholm's and tonight wasn't my first time there, but I will probably just order a diet coke.

The local craft brew was fantastic. I recommend doing a sampler to try as much of them out as you can. Food was ok, good for a bar & the service was good too.

A buddy found a coupon for this place so we figured we'd check it out early on a Saturday night. It's a quaint, little place in the midst of what I imagine the "downtown scene" to be in Geneva. We got there at just the right time because after we sat down, group after group kept coming in. Service here is king. It's why I give this place 4 stars instead of 3. A man who I believe is the owner, sat us and proceeded to give us the skinny on not only the beers on tap, but the dishes on the menu. He checked on us often, asking our opinions and worked in concert with our waitress/bartender to make sure we had everything we needed. And even as the place got more and more crowded, no one made us feel like we were taking up a table and needed to get moving. A+ in my book for service alone. The microbrew is ok, I've definiltey had better (Rock Bottom and RAM definitely have this down to a science) and I think after a little more time they'll work out the kinks. The beer has potential, but could be better. The owner/manger/host seems to have a real love of the suds and grape, so I'm willing to cut him some slack and check back in the future at what else he's offering. The menu here is a more than I would expect and definitely raises what could be just a pub to gastro-pub. I had some swedish meatballs which were fair and my friend ordered the risotto which he seemed to enjoy as well. The seafood gumbo was outstanding and a must have on a cold day - peppery and flavorful! Overall, if you find yourself in the area, hungry or thirsty, and there's no wait, I would highly recommend it!

I had the spicy pork sandwich here, and it was excellent. From what I hear, they have great burgers, too, though the variety of in-house brews leaves much to desire. Go for the food, not the beer. (For a great selection of beers, go across the street to Geneva Ale House.)

I went to this brew pub a couple of months ago and I had a pretty good time. When I went in, I actually thought it was just a bar, I didn't know they brewed their own beer. The place is pretty small they seem to only have one brewing tank in the front window. I don't know if they brew the beer elsewhere or just one batch at a time, either way, it doesn't really matter. I tried 3 different beers, 2 wheat beers and a honey brown ale. One of the wheat beers, the Lorazz Weiss was very good, the other one had a great initial taste and then a very bitter after taste. The honey brown was very good as well. I did not try any food, so I can't comment on it, but the other people in the bar seemed to be enjoying it and it did look good. The service was good, but not particularly friendly. Overall a good place to try some different beers if you're in the neighborhood. It's probably not a place I would go out of my way to get to, but worth a try.

My wife and I wanted to try something new and different so we ventured out of Clarendon Hills and took the trek to Geneva. Food: Food was great! We started with the spinach artichoke dip. They gave you a pretty big serving which is always nice. Good texture and consistency. I got the bratwurst burger. Very unique. Apparently the bratwurst is made in Geneva. The Beer: Eah If you like sour ales I guess you are in business. All the beers tasted the same. Not much difference between them. The highlight was the red ale which was pretty good. Still......it couldn't shy away from that sour taste. Service: Eah Place was busy. Didn't see the waitress as much as I would have liked. Would have got another beer or two but our waitress was manning both the inside and outside. Overall the place was OK. Didn't knock my socks off. Nice to see another brewer in the burbs though.

We were in Geneva for a weekend getaway and went here for dinner last night. The place was packed (it's not that big). The owner came up to his and told us it would be about a 20 min wait. We ordered a couple of nice ales and hung out. He came back to keep us posted on our seating status which was good customer service. He was right - twenty minutes. I like this place because it can suit your taste. I was in the mood for a great burger and hubby wanted a nice dinner. I ordered the two choice burger medium. He ordered the Haddock dinner. My burger was amazing. Cooked en point and delicious. The hubby's haddock was good. Ummm...it is most likely the same brand of frozen battered haddock I have in my freezer but it was still good and hot and the chipoltle coleslaw was a real hit. The people next to us had the shrimp tacos and said they were really good. What makes this place warrant four stars is the good food, great beer selection and most importanly the amazing customer service from both the owner and our server. As busy as they both were they still stopped by to check on us, offer a few words of conversation and make sure we had everything we needed. The price point was pretty good too.

Great tavern atmosphere with restaurant quality food. I am not much of a beer drinker, but the ones I have had here, I have liked. The brat burger is to die for. Imagine the best brat meat you have ever had, shape it into a patty and serve it on a hamburger bun. Flavorful, juicy, great. Totally unhealthy I am sure...but incredibly good. The root beer is also home made and if you like root beer, try one of these. Again, excellent. The wraps are good too....but you gotta try the brat burger.

What an amazing surprise! This place is completely non-descript. Thanks to Yelp we tried it out. Great atmosphere, perfect service, and the food was killer. Fresh seafood gumbo, amazing ribs, delicious mashed potatoes, lots of sandwich selections, and desserts worth the calories. My only complaint was that some parents decided to bring in a little league team in for dinner, this is not chuck e cheese people, it's a shady little bar with 5 star cuisine!

First, the beer. I admit to being a Portland, OR beer snob. The beer here is real ale, cask conditioned, and is delicious! Served at slightly cooler than room temperature, the ales, weissbiers, and pilsner are cloudy, as they're supposed to be, potent, and fantastic. The food is delicious, and the service is great (knows the beers!).

We ventured into Stockholm following a trip to the Geneva Art Fair this weekend. It looked kind of quaint and old school from the outside, and the decor inside followed suit. We were most interested in the fact that the outside made it apparent that they brewed their own beer, and that's always fun to try, so why not? After scoring a great seat by the window, my husband and I both started off with a beer. I went for the raspberry wheat, and my husband, a certain "blend" of a London-style ale and a pale ale. He was pleased with his, and mine was really refreshing and perfect for a warm summer afternoon. We moved along to an appetizer. Oh my gosh, the appetizer! We ordered the shrimp and mushrooms. The description in the menu did not do this justice. There were four slices of thin coutry-style bread fanned out in the middle of the plate. Over the top there was a huge, delicious portion of a sort of "stew" of small shrimp, a few different types of mushrooms, all in a white wine cream sauce, topped with some chopped tomatoes. Yummm! I really could have used another couple of slices of bread to sop up all of the remaining sauce. It was just that good! The menu had a nice selection of sandwiches, pasta, salads and larger entrees. For our main dishes, I ordered the fajita salad. It came in a white, crispy taco shell bowl. There was a lot of dressed romaine in the bottom (a little over-dressed to be honest, the dressing could have used a little more spice as well. I felt like it might have been Caesar dressing?), topped with about an inch of shredded jack cheese (that's a lot of cheese), and then strips of grilled chicken, bell pepper and onion. The salad was a little disappointing after that amazing appetizer. My husband got the Caesar burger which he said was tasty. It was a nice half pound patty topped with basically, Caesar salad, on a ciabatta roll. Looked tasty. and the fries that came with it were thick, crispy and hot. Overall, we really had a good experience here. I'd go back for a beer and the shrimp and mushrooms in a second! Too bad we live so far from Geneva!

The homebrew is absolutely wretched. My party of four each ordered a different beer and they were virtually identical. I would think that this is due to low quality ingredients and the fact that they use the same yeast in everything. No decent brewmaster would do this. The beer was so bad that none of us finished and we quickly moved to bottled beers. I may be a beer snob, but nobody who knows anything about beer could call this good. The food was not great either. My burger, which I ordered medium, was very well done. It was dry and flavorless. The fries were okay. We won't be going back.

First time here, and it was me my wife and two girls, 3 and 4 yrs old. I had the fish sandwich, the wife had the sirloin sandwich and the kids shared the chicken tenders which came with smiley face fries. Overall, the food was decent, the fish sandwich was a good size, so I was happy with that, which came with fries. The sirloin was also good, and the chicken tenders were your average tenders you usually get with fries. The owner or manager, sorry, I didn't get his name, was very friendly along with our waitress, which made us very happy with the service. The wife had a house red which she said was above average than other restaurants we visit. I just had a coke which was the usual. So, overall, we had a good experience. The restaurant was kinda small and the patio outside was small and already full.....

Delish micro brews, old downtown Chicago bar atmosphere, and yummy soups. The liter to-go did have obviously have a slightly different taste then straight from the tap but was still tasty the next day. I will be back to eat a full meal and sample more of their beers.

I think I had such high hopes for Stockholms that I may not be giving it a fair shake. When I heard small brewery with gourmet bar food, I started salivating. What I found was everything seems to just miss the mark. I went for my mother's birthday along with my wife and father. Let's start with the beer. It wasn't bad by any means, but it was just very light. Clearly it didn't have the time to sit and develop flavors like it should. The porter was hardly a porter at all. No head on any beer that was ordered. On to the food. We had two appetizers. The seared Ahi Tuna and the homemade chips (almost like an Italian potato chip nacho dish). The Tuna was good, not as flavorful as I would like on my tuna, but not bad by any means. And the chips were good. I would have liked more chips and less cheese. For a meal I had the "Grilled" halibut, which I am not really sure was grilled. It was flavorful and meaty, but i was craving some grill flavor, and I never got it. It was served along with long grain rice, that tasted like rice-a-roni, and steamed veggies. My wife had the Gonnoci stuffed with Gorgonzola cheese. Wow, it was an explosion of richness that was hardly palatable. I like Gorgonzola, so don't give me "duh, you should have known" , this was entirely too rich and we took most of it home only as a courtesy and it was thrown out shortly after I arrived home. Overall, I'll probably go back. My parents were both very happy with their meals, so perhaps I made a few bad choices.

I got a coupon from the local radio shopping show. The waitress was super nice and the food was very good! I had the spicy steak salad and my friend had the seafood gumbo and diablo seafood pasta. I couldn't give 5 stars because the beer was....eh and the diablo pasta wasn't very spicy. But! I highly recommend the spicy steak salad. The salad includes ginger lime vinaigrette, but I didn't care for it. The salad was perfect with oil & vinegar and a bit of salt & pepper. I'm definitely going back. Thanks Stockholm's :)

Stopped in for a late lunch on a weekday. We sat by the front window and amused ourselves looking at the cobwebs on the flag overhead. Our server was very busy eating when she wasn't chatting up a guy sitting at the bar. Food was okay, we didn't sample the beer. We just didn't get a good vibe from this place and probably won't be back.

Even during the crush of Swedish Days our friend Mike found us a spot in the back "beer garden" - really just a few tables outside - for the 7 of us (3 adults and 4 kids). Ashley provided EXCELLENT service and always had a fresh drink for us, even though it was crazy busy inside with the crowd from the festival...... The steak sandwich is AWESOME and Hot Mamma loved her shrimp tacos....oh, I also had a few Franz's Good times! 2 kid chicken 8.00 3 lemonade 6.00 1 Papas Italiano 7.59 1 kid macaroni 4.00 1 side ceaser 4.29 1 shrimp taco 11.49 1 filet mignon sand 12.49 5 Brancott Sauv Blc Gl 42.50 6 Franz 33.00 Total - $143.36

I know Stockholm's is supposed to be a brew-pub, but when you don't drink beer you go for the food. Stockholm's has a very complete menu for varying pallets; from salads to sandwiches to full entree meals like risotto. I have had many of the items and greatly satisfied each and every time. My favorite - The Colossal Fish Sandwich.

Took the family here for lunch and the 3 of us were very pleased. The beer is excellent (had the blend and was SO happy with it - even though I'm not usually a beer drinker). I'm not a fan of fries, but couldn't stop eating these and loved the burger with the toasted bun...one of the best burgers around. My finicky 15 year old even loved his Caesar burger, which says alot! Most importantly, service was excellent and we felt very welcomed by the owner. He made a point of going to each table and greeted everyone with a smile. Will most definitely recommend and return for the beer and the food!

BEST RIBS ANYWHERE!!! I keep coming back for the ribs! This is a great little place in downtown Geneva. The owner brews his own beers. Many of the menu items are handmade there from scratch. A favorite appetizer of mine is the Papas Italiano, a fresh batch of chips with an Italian inspired cheese sauce! Back to the ribs...they marinate them over night in Guinness beer. They are fall off the bone tender. After raving to the owner, he recommended another place that was supposed to have great ribs. I took his recommendation and went, but they did not compare! This is the only place in a 25 mile radius that I will order ribs. It seems like every other time I try to order ribs elsewhere, I just compare them to Stockholm's! My wife and I have been coming here the last few Valentine's Days. They always have a special complimentary desert. It's a little chocolate mouse cake in the shape of a heart...soooo good!

I'm a little conflicted on this review. The staff at Stockholm's were as nice as they could be, the soups that kept passing us smelled delicious but the beer was 'meh' and I think they have an identity crisis. Being Swedish I was excited to visit a 'Swedish' establishment. Things that seem Swedish at Stockholm's: the logo and a few decorations. Yep, that's about it. The menu features almost all Italian dishes with only Swedish meatballs referencing the heritage. We had a nice time but only 2.5 to 3 stars for me.

The wait staff is nice, the decor is pretty alright. The beer...what a shame. I had an "Abbey Ale" and it was subpar at best. It should not be allowed to be called Abbey style ale as it tasted watered down. I cant see myself returning anytime soon.

Food here is delicious. Excellent Caesar salad, tilapia, quesadillas and baked potato soup. The bar is tiny but the food is really good, not just for bar food but in general. It's a cozy space with average service, they do brew their own small selection of beer as well.

We were on a small little bar crawl and this was our last stop. The beer was decent, however it was not really to my taste. The place is dark and Nordic. A nice little place to stop in for a cold one.

I somehow always find myself here. The food is always great. The burgers are really good. The buffalo chicken ranch wrap was tasty. The chicken picatta is good (but mom's is the best), and the pastas are good too. The portions are great and the food is always consistent.

This little pub is my favorite of its genre in Geneva (and the several others provide robust competition). The decor is accented with large historical images of Geneva and Chicago and its vintage bar is a classic. Usually crowded and a bit noisey, a relaxed meal with conversation is still easily achieveable, and the place quiets down when the after work crowd dissipates. The service is excellent. When the place is packed a host or hostess will approach immediately with an estimate of the wait (usually over estimated) and help you to order drinks from the bar. But the food is what sets Stockholm's apart. The burgers are terrific. Their soups are varied (you can order a flight of soups to sample them all) but I prefer the potato. The steaks are accurately cooked and of good quality. Of course they serve Swedish meatballs. The menu is large and varied, especially for a small pub. Walker Percy's excellent little monograph on whisky contains his humble admission: "I wouldn't know one from the other unless the other is very bad." I am not a judge of beer. I go to Stockholm's for the food.

My favorite place for a burger in the Tri-Cities. Nice neighborhood brewpub that is always abuzz with locals and visitors alike. Good beers (all in-house brews...State St. Pils goes well with anything) and the food is high-quality and homemade. The owner is usually there on weekends and does a good job of ushering the crowd without seeming pushy. Service is brief but friendly, which fits well with the laid-back vibe not commonly seen in the stuffy burbs. Wish there were more places like this in the area. Five stars!

Great environment and even better beer and food! Now I'm a little biased since I'm Swedish- but I really love this place and the guy who is always bar tending is so personable and attentive.

I have gone here a number of times and they are pretty good. I love the gourmet chicken salad sandwich. They have good baked potato soup and at times good burgers. I did have an instance with a night manager when I ordered a well done hamburger and got it with pink still inside, I told the waitress & she in turn told the manager who came over and insisted it was well done and there was no pink. The waitress, myself, and the person I was with could all see it was pink and the manager just kept giving me an attitude saying things like, "I could have them take it back and they could burn it". It was really uncalled for and the whole ordeal made me feel awkward and unappreciated as a customer. The waitress had him take it off the bill, but I was pretty put off and haven't had their burgers since and have slowed down my visits though the food is still quite good I do recommend to others.

I like Stockholm's. I've been there about 4 times in the past few years (lunch once and dinner a few times) and never had a bad experience. I was trying to decide between giving it 4 or 5 stars, but my boyfriend said he'd give it 5 stars so I decided to bump it up to 5. I'd probably give it 4.5 if Yelp allowed half stars :) They have really good root beer and beer that they brew themselves. The food is always good - the only problem is how messy the grilled veggie sandwich is, but it tastes really good so it's not that big a problem! The portion sizes are nice and big so I usually take home enough leftovers for a second meal, especially with the pasta. Prices for things like pasta, burgers and sandwiches are in the $8-15 range which seems fair for the amount of food. They have some more expensive entrees on the menu too but I haven't tried them. I recommend the delicious Spinach Pasta because just thinking about it is making my mouth water, but like I said, everything I've tried here has been good. It's just a cool place, you should definitely check it out.

Yum, yum, yum! I thought this was going to be a Swedish place when I saw it on my GPS. Even though it isn't, I was not disappointed. The beer selection is great, the soup and salad combos filling and everything was delicious. Under $40 for two lunches and beers. Definitely worth the stop if you are in town.

Not only do they brew their own beer, but they have excellent food. The baked potato soup is one of the best i've had. I also really like the gorgonzolas gnocci, and the potion size is huge. Its a great local hang out in downtown Geneva that is tasty, affordable and has a full service bar (with many beer options.) Just be warned, many weekend nights they are very crowded so get there early if you want a table.

Good Pub food and not a bad price either. They also have a very nice selection of beers and wine to choose from. I miss it a long time ago it used to be Dad's Place but like I said a long time ago. There's a good clic in here and good people work here too. It's not the largest place but fits well in Geneva.

I'm not much of a beer fanatic, so I'm judging solely on the food and service. This place is a nice small bar with great food. The food is not like your typical bar food. The seafood is amazing if you like fish, and the steaks are great as well. The kicker are their homemade soups. The baked potato soup is to die for. You won't be able to keep yourself contained from licking the cup clean. I also tried the new england clam chowder, which was not as good as the baked potato. I would like to try other soups, but the baked potato is so good, that I don't want to feel like I missed out. You can't really go wrong on what ever entree you order. My two favorites are the salmon and the beef tenderloin sandwhich. Yummm! My husband and I love this place!

This is one of our favorite bars for dinner - summer and winter. Their soups are outstanding, especially the baked potato soup. Everything else - sandwiches, wraps and main dishes are consistently good. The staff is warm and friendly and helpful. They've got a tiny little patio out back in the summer time and in the winter it's fun to sit in the front window and watch people go by. Highly recommended.

This is one of our favorite places in Geneva for dinner and drinks. Not the typical food that you would find in a neighborhood bar...much better, and the prices won't make you limp out the door. The staff is great. Waits on Friday nights can be longish, but well worth it. The risottos are to die for. Highly recommended.

It is kinda small, but the food is top quality and they brew their own beer. It is a type of place that I like as the same old beer gets kinda boring. People need to support local brewmasters

For a small brew pub, this place is good. We've been coming here for 8 years. The first few years I would have probably rated this place 4 stars, but for some reason the past 2 years or so has been hit or miss. Two things you can't go wrong on: the seafood gumbo or the potato soup. They both are fantastic and taste great every time. Warning to those who can't handle spice - the gumbo is very spicy. (which is the way it should be). I've downgraded to 3 stars because sometimes, things just weren't right the past several visits. It seems they are understaffed many of the times. Our last meal, we probably waited 30+ minutes for the food to come out, and the place wasn't even that busy. With a 3 yo and 1 yo, that's not good. Many of the times the microbrew they serve has a very definite metallic taste to it (as others have commented). The problem with Yelp is people throw around 5 star reviews like they're nothing. I have yet to give one. I'm not picking, but seriously folks, to give 5 stars mean everything has to be absolutely perfect. That just isn't the case at this place. Definitely come here for the soup and large entree salads. The micro brew can be hit or miss, as can be the service. But by all means give this place a try. It is a solid brew pub with a nice menu, and we'll keep coming back.

Just went here again this evening. First the beer, while have not gotten tired of the weiss beer with raspberry, Lorazz Weiss, my family loves the rootbeer. I have to admit it the best i have had, bar none. Now to the food. We started with bruschetta. A variation on the classic recipe, and very tasty. It is 4 crostini with ample topping. 1 is enough for ech person as a starter. We had the crunchy crab salad which is an entree sized dish and excellent. I had the "Ultimate steak sandwich" great steak sandwich with the exception of the bun. It really can't stand up to the steak. It really needs a stronger bread. Go there, right now!

Good solid pub! Delicious soups! I had a burger which was solid. Girlfriend had asian chicken salad - it was good. Home brrewed rootbeer - you cannot beat this! Servicve was not the best - took a long time to get our food.

Grabbed lunch here the other day. I've eaten here a couple times before and manage to forget about it. I have to agree with some previous reviewers that the home brew here is not great. I had the State Street Pilsner, which tasted tinny and metalic. The body was fine and it was drinkable enough, but that metal taste really throws the whole thing off. The other brew on tap here are a wheat which is somewhat better, along with a blend and I believe a stout. For lunch I had the cajun wrap and my friend had the chicken tortilla soup and the reuben. My wrap was good if uninspired bar fare. The soup was thicker than I'd expected, almost a chili consistency. The reuben was a reuben. It's the McDonald's of the lunch sandwich menu. It was tasty, but nothing I'd write home to mother about. It's the kind of place you'd forget you even went to a few weeks later. This place does pretty well for itself with the Geneva lunch crowd, and I love to see local brewers in action, but it doesn't do much for me. Certainly won't be wowed, but fine for a good lunch or a casual dinner.

I've only been here once and I tried one of their local brews Aegirs Ale which was very asty! IOrdered Seared Ahi and it was room temperature when it came to my table not very impressionable to say the least ( I expected this to be much warmer and juicier not dry ) so it was very chewy and not tender. I am not a fan of this dish... but maybe I will try a burger next time. The beer was cold and refreshing and staff was friendly. I would recommend this place for a few friends to go hang out and have a few local brews but not for it's fine cuisine.

I feel bad about the rating, but I have to tell you, I think this is the most overrated place around. The ambiance is ok, the brews are ok, the owner is a very nice personable guy but their food is so blah to me. My first time there I got the Swedish Meatballs and thought they were very bland. Last time there, I got a turkey sandwich and it was mediocre at best. Not one of my favorites, for sure.

Was looking forward to trying their handcrafted beer but was disappointed. Did a "Voyage" of 5 different beers and they all tasted bad. As in unusually bitter. I love microbrewery beer, but not this. Didn't have the heart to tell the guy behind the bar. He was very nice and the place seemed to be doing the biz. Guess it's just not my kind of beer.

Easily one of my favorite restaurants in the area. Great food that's reasonably priced. It's pub food but a little better. The one thing I would change is the beer, it's not bad its just not memorable.

I really love this place. The food is SO good. Everything I've had there has been of really high quality, from the spinach dip appetizer to the chicken salad or blt croissants or the gnocci. The owner is an adorable, friendly guy who makes the rounds almost every time I'm there. The micro brews are pretty good, too. I haven't loved all that I've tried, but I have like them for the most part. The 5 star rating is based on the food and service, for me. Really awesome.

The service is nice here, with the owner always present and attentive, but the homebrewed beer here is God awful. I got a beer flight to try all their brews. Seriously, I feel I have a pretty fair pallet and an open mind when it comes to beer, but it was just terrible. I didn't try the food, but have heard it's decent.

5 stars for best bar-food in the the tri-cities. I had the Scallop Risotto on my last visit and it was out of this world..... but needed some salt. I'd rather have not enough than too much though. Their craft beers are a bit dumbed down for the conservative suburban palate but they are decent my favorite would be the 3rd street ale, a belgium style brown which is tastey. Decent whiskey selection including bookers, bakers, woodford, and Al Capone's templeton rye in the US selections. Service has always been great. Previous visits I have enjoyed some delecious fish dishes. The English Pale Ale lacks the hoppiness but I assume this is just because suburbanites can't handle the hops. I have never had a bad time here and I recommend it fully.

We went here to dinner last Friday night with my sister and her fiance. We walked in and were not greeted at the door so we assumed it was seat yourself but it wasn't, but the man still sat us where we were headed to anyways. Weird. The guys got a few samples of some of their brewed beers and both decided to order the Pilsner and it had an off taste, I read somewhere that someone thought it tasted like metal and that is about right. Bad aftertaste. We then ordered our meals, I ordered the Shrimp Tacos with rice, Fred had the Cajun Wrap with fried shrimp and crawfish, Missy had the Buffalo Chicken Wrap and Jeff had the Ribeye Steak Sandwich (and I ordered a bowl of Chicken Tortilla Soup). The standout, by far, was Jeff's steak sandwich! It was VERY tender and had a delicious flavor. Everything else was pretty much lacking. My tacos were okay but not what I expected and the rice it came with was Uncle Ben's (know by taste) Long Grain and Wild Rice! WTF is that about?? I was expecting some Mexican style rice to go along with tacos and that is what I got! I didn't get that at all! And the wraps were both just pretty good. Overall, I would probably go back for that steak sandwich, but I would REALLY have to want it because there really isn't too much to remember about this place. BTW...our waitress was SUPER friendly and attentive, so that was one plus.

I was pleasantly surprised with the gourmet selections offered on the menu. They offer more than just the typical pub fare here. A special preparation of various fish selections and New York strip steak is offered. This establishment also features a seasonal selection of specials. I especially enjoyed the porcini mushroom soup. Normally I am not fond of steak fries, but these were really hot and actually a little crispy. As far as the micro brews go, I personally liked the brown ale and the Wise selections. I also liked the burger I had and the steak and chicken Thai appetizer. The menu is so extensive, I'm sure even the pickiest eater could find something here.

Loved the welcoming atmosphere, but not so much the beer.In fact, this is really a 2.5 stars, instead of three-star review. Owner was super friendly and talked with us for a bit about his brewing process, which my husband noted as unique because they transfer the beer from the mashtun container to the kegs right away to let them ferment. Decor is also interesting as far as it's based around Sweden, so there are little vikings and ships in nooks and crannies, but the theme doesn't go too far where it would be kitschy. In fact, the collection of photos showing downtown Geneva's history adds a bit more polish to the casual pub setting. In the end, I'm docking stars here because my husband and I were not too impressed with the beer. We ordered the flight and chose five to share. None of the flavor combos were out of the ordinary. And when we tried the porter, it didn't taste like what we expected - in fact my home brewer, porter-loving hubby said it was a bit sour.

The server was completely clueless about the beer being brewed there. I asked what had the lowest alcohol content (it was the middle of the day). She said she had no idea, but that most were around 6% "because they're unfiltered". After making that completely nonsensical statement she told me they tried to sell me Miller Lite. I just got a Coke at that point. Clearly, brewing beer there is done solely as a novelty as the staff has no idea what's going on. Also, there are no other craft beers, just Miller Lite and other such crap. The food was mediocre at best and our server seemed only capable of dealing with one thing at a time.

Easily one of my favorite lunch joints in Geneva. I showed up on Good Friday this year for lunch with the grandma and ordered their baked potato soup (which by the way is every soup lover's wet dream). Anyways when our waitress took my order, she was considerate enough to ask if I wanted bacon on the soup because of the holy day. I can't say I've ever been asked that at a restaurant. Usually service is quite impersonal. Not so at Stockholm's. It should also be mentioned that I've gone to this gem with several groups of people--ranging from my family to college friends-- and NO ONE has ever disliked their meal. The gnocchi is not something I'd recommend just because it's swimming in sauce and reminded me more of a soup than a pasta dish. It's simply delicious. They also brew their own beer here which is super awesome. Go local. Overall I gave it four stars because of the gnocchi and the fact that it's really difficult to get a table if you don't go at an odd time (IE I wouldn't recommend going around noon or dinnertime. Or after church on Sundays).

I expected good pub food but received poor service and very average food. The owner seemed to have very little interest in the customers experience. I would never go back.

Extraordinary experience, friendly, knowledgable staff, wonderful food and great old style beer! Balsamic butter dressing best I've ever had.

Walked in and walked out. The building smells and there is no seating for five. We chose Geneva Ale House. And so far I am very impressed.

I've been imbibing at this place for years and it just occurred to me to write a review. Sorry for the delay but it's worth the wait because this place is golden. You walk in, seat yourself all casual-like. The menus are at the tables but make sure you ask for a beer menu, they have a decent selection. Last summer it was raspberry beer that kept me coming back. The food is also quite tasty. We usually order the steak sandwich however the last time we were there I was feeling less beefy and ordered a chicken salad sandwich which was good too. Fries are awesome. I even ordered pasta for dinner once, gnocchi I think and it was good. Typical bar food menu which is kind of disappointing since the name makes me pine for the fjords but that's okay. I'll take it. Oh and the service is much improved and prices are decent for the area. Parking is tricky but that's downtown Geneva.

The make surprisingly good steaks. The appetizer called Papas Italianos is a little crazy good. Order it. Thier french onion has a nice flavor to it - a little different, but robust and nice. Generally it's pub food that is better than the Little Owl or any of those bars in Geneva. I dont drink beer much so I can't speak to their own brew. I do know that the food is tasty for the most part. They also have outdoor seating in the back.

Fabulous food AND service! Great pub food for lunch....and the menu begs to go for dinner! We will be back for sure!

I came here with a few co-workers on a Thursday evening. This place is located in the heart of downtown Geneva. Very easy parking around the building; I parked right in front of the restaurant in an angled spot. I ordered the Steak Kabobs with porcini mushroom soup. I asked for medium steak, but there was no pink when they arrived. It's hard to mess up kabobs, and these were solid. The soup was actually very good. Lots of mushrooms and very tasty. Also ordered a few cocktails, including the grape ape, green wave, and something with dragon in the name. Also had the older but weisser beer. I like wheat beers, so it was enjoyable. The prices here are fair; My kabobs were a bit expensive but the drinks were fairly cheap. Similar to many brewpubs I've been too. I probably won't go back unless i get a coupon of some sort.

This is a two part review, since as a self-proclaimed beer snob (and unjustly so) I feel I'm doing a brewpub injustice by not judging it solely based on its beer. Unortunately for Stockholm's, this is not in their favor as I was pretty thoroughly unimpressed with their beers. Of the five that I tried, it was obvious they use the same yeast in all their styles (Australian brewer's yeast - strong sour flavor) and as a result none of the beers were true to the intended style. If you like sour ales, you'll be happy so long as you don't expect your pilsner to taste like a pilsner, your brown to taste like a brown, etc. With that said, food at Stockholm's is a good value and pretty tasty (and also the reason they are getting 3/5 stars). I've been impressed with the lobster Cobb salad, the fish tacos and the veggie wrap wasn't bad according to one of my dining companions. They have a farily large menu with a number of salads, burgers, sandwiches, pasta and steak/seafood entrees that should appeal to even those that are picky eaters. All-in-all the service and food are worth returning for, but I think I"ll probably be washing down my next meal with one of their guest beers.

(5)Krista H.
Mike the owner is so friendly and always greets his customers with a smile. One of the best burgers in town and the loaded baked potato soup is heavenly, especially in the winter!
(4)Michael R.
Do not come here for the beer. It is bad. None of us wanted to even finish our beers. Maybe their food is good because there were people there but I can't imagine anyone even remotely serious about craft beer would come back again.
(1)David N.
(3)Steve V.
On our rotation and rarely let's us down. Have had 4 of the sandwiches...all really great. My wife loves the salmon fiesta salad. Great value. Craft beers are mid-tier but food, atmosphere, location make it always a fun time.
(4)Martha M.
(4)Jonathan G.
The only Swedish dish they have are the Swedish meatballs. And those are only Swede-ISH. Disappointing. Not going back.
(1)Damon B.

(2)Chanh S.
Went here before but today it was really bad beer. Everything was bitter and it seems they're not admitting they are serving a bad batch of beers. Nothing taste like it should.
(3)Danny R.
Ate here last night, I ordered the ribs which were absolutely delicious. Fall off the bone tender. I ordered a few bears one called the viking red ale and it was just OK. Second beer was a pilsner same result. Food is good beer is iffy.
(3)Alexx G.
(2)Carolina B.
(4)Kim M.
Stopped in for a quick bite and a beer. I will give 5stars to the staff as they were very attentive. I had the California club. I thought it was good . Unfortunately I ended up with food poisoning and to me that reflects on how food is handled. I wouldn't recommend as a eatery.
(2)Anthony A.
Every time we come here it's been 100% on point, owner/management/servers make you feel at home, you definitely have to try the hard root beer best I've ever had, and all the food is too good to choose between. Stockholm's is the hidden gem in Geneva foodies search for!! A+
(5)Alex G.
Great food, amazing staff, little known fact, this amazing little pub does take out. Well known fact, they have the best homemade root beer in the solar system.
(5)Vicki V.
5 stars!
(5)Laura T.
Cook is just hilarious and so helpful! He always gives excellent suggestions. I like only a few of their beers but the old-fashions. They are perfect! I have had three absolutely tasty meals here. A bit small but worth the wait.
(5)Amy P.
(1)Panda B.
(3)Tony L.
(2)Kate O.
(3)Jim R.
I really liked this place. I had the mushroom burger which was really good. The artichoke dip was awesome. Not a lot of room so it's wise to go here during off hours or be patient. I don't drink so I don't know how good the beer is. I will be back.
(4)Andi S.
I've loved coming here since I was a kid. The soup is what makes me return! The fresh potato and cheese soup is one of the best I've had! Very fun to see they have beer classes since they brew their own beer.
(5)Bob P.
Every month I look forward to the new additions added to their menu! This place cares about food not just drinks. Food and service for a "bar" is top notch. The food here is above exceptions and the service follows. Is this place a bar? Kind of. Can you dine here with your family, yes! Will you leave happy? Of course!
(5)Doreen A.
First time here last night - the weather was warm, so their back patio accommodating an additional 9 tables was open making it possible for us to get a table right away in the early evening on a Saturday. My husband had been recommended to come here for their soups and he kept saying he wanted to go to the soup place. Their 6 homemade soups is just the beginning of an awesome menu. We had the grilled artichoke with prosciutto and balsamic drizzle appetizer which had a side of greens. This was very yummy especially when you put two of my favorites (artichokes and prosciutto) together. October brings their corn chowder as an additional soup offering for the evening, so knowing it was a limited time, we both had the corn chowder. Great flavors! We then each chose an entrée. My husband chose the homemade Swedish meatballs which came with smashed potatoes and a vegetable medley. I chose the beef filet medallions with mushroom risotto. Both were excellent! The Swedish meatballs were solid packed and speaking with the host, he mentioned that they use four different meats to achieve the flavors in them. The smashed potatoes were great and had lots of garlic going on. The filet medallions sitting atop the mushroom risotto were done excellent to medium rare as requested and delivered with a great outside char and very well prepared. The mushroom risotto had the greatest of flavors with a lot of different mushrooms present. FOOD WAS AWESOME!! Leaving at about 8pm, it was very crazy packed - so go early to enjoy a great dinnner

(3)Anthony C.
Somebody needs to teach them how to brew. Hey, I'll do it! The beer here is just plain awful. If you are a craft beer drinker you might be drawn to a place like this because they brew their own beer, but the beer is just not good. The burgers my wife and I had were decent at best.
(2)Jodie W.
It's tiny, so weekends are crowded. I like the outdoor deck area. The lobster salad is very good and reasonably priced. The beer is nothing special. I got a panini there and it was way too buttery. The Cajun soup was also just okay. The staff is great. Nice historic building.
(4)Victoria C.
(3)Marck O.
The beer is just plain awful, Enough said.
(1)Bronwen J.
Had lunch here on a Saturday with my boyfriend. The food was very good and the servers were nice. The crab cakes are delicious. I had one of their beers, and I liked it very much. I am not a craft brew snob, so maybe my tastes are not as refined as some other reviewers.
(5)Julie A.
(5)Stacy S.
Excellent service and food. Beer brewed on site. Can't rave about the beer. Full service bar. Homemade soups and variety of entrees and appetizers. Not your usual pub food. The chef combines foods and flavors for a tasty meal.
(5)Viktor V.
I love this place. Friendly, welcoming ... a true tavern. The owner personally welcomed me to town. Great custom beers and amazing food. Hard to ask for more!
(5)George C.
Best pulled pork sandwich around! Gotta love it! Fries are good and crispy too!
(5)Jason N.
BEST BURGER EVER! Every single time I've ordered it over the past few years it has been cooked perfectly and tastes great. Also love the baked potato soup and BLT's. As much as I love their food, I personally don't care for their beers. But keep it positive on this place, the food is outstanding!
(4)Lucas C.
Home-Brewed root beer is great as well as potato soup and club sandwich. Reuben sandwich and Blackened tuna sandwich are really bad though.
(3)Rachel L.
(5)Tee D.
Great lunch outside on the patio. Had the blackened tuna and wife had shrimp tacos.
(5)Jessica G.
(3)Paul C.
Quite honestly not a big fan of their beer (they brew their own) The food is good, great comfort food. Service was very good, friendly accommodating staff. Improve the beer and we may be back.
(3)Joe S.
(1)Brent C.

(5)Penny M.
I got the stuffed potato soup and it was just ok. It was good, but to be honest, it was kinda bland and I only had about 4 pieces of potato in it! It could have been really good it had more potato and cheese. My fiance did like the beer flight he had though. He said the burger was just ok.
(3)Melanie G.
Yuck! We went to Stockholm's on Saturday for Lunch and it smelled terribly inside. We ate outside and the food was fair but service was slow. I wouldn't have minded the service or food but the smell was just horrible. My family and I would go inside and smell the place again while we were there and it was just too horrible.
(1)Renita M.
Good stuff.
(4)Emily D.
(4)Ollie B.

The patio is nice in the summer. Good selection of food and never had anything bad. Service is average, no major complaints. Good selection of beers as well.

(5)Ben R.

(3)Garry B.

(4)Alex A.
I had the spicy pork sandwich here, and it was excellent. From what I hear, they have great burgers, too, though the variety of in-house brews leaves much to desire. Go for the food, not the beer. (For a great selection of beers, go across the street to Geneva Ale House.)
(3)Matt B.

(4)Donald C.
(5)Vanessa S.
(5)Jaime C.

(3)Nathan S.

(3)Kirsten N.

(3)Karla C.

(4)Kim F.
(5)Frank G.

(3)Dee B.
The wait staff is nice, the decor is pretty alright. The beer...what a shame. I had an "Abbey Ale" and it was subpar at best. It should not be allowed to be called Abbey style ale as it tasted watered down. I cant see myself returning anytime soon.
(1)Gardner F.
Soups and sandwiches are great. I am not much of a beer guy so no comment there, but overall a great place to grab a bite to eat. Very small seating area so beware during prime times.
(4)Amanda S.
Food here is delicious. Excellent Caesar salad, tilapia, quesadillas and baked potato soup. The bar is tiny but the food is really good, not just for bar food but in general. It's a cozy space with average service, they do brew their own small selection of beer as well.
(5)Anthony M.
We were on a small little bar crawl and this was our last stop. The beer was decent, however it was not really to my taste. The place is dark and Nordic. A nice little place to stop in for a cold one.
(3)Michael H.

(5)Eric F.
Five stars!
(5)Elizabeth E.
Great environment and even better beer and food! Now I'm a little biased since I'm Swedish- but I really love this place and the guy who is always bar tending is so personable and attentive.
(4)Sum Fun D.
(3)Cassandra L.
(5)Jennifer B.
(4)Kassi C.
(4)John O.
Good Pub food and not a bad price either. They also have a very nice selection of beers and wine to choose from. I miss it a long time ago it used to be Dad's Place but like I said a long time ago. There's a good clic in here and good people work here too. It's not the largest place but fits well in Geneva.
(4)Yoomi B.
(5)Bar C.
This place has awesome food and great soup. The only thing that I've ever had that was not great was the spinach & artichoke dip. Everything else at this place is outstanding.
(5)Thor C.
Three words. Viking Red Ale.
(5)Heather S.
(5)Jim K.
(4)Andy M.
It is kinda small, but the food is top quality and they brew their own beer. It is a type of place that I like as the same old beer gets kinda boring. People need to support local brewmasters
(5)Karl W.
(3)Greg P.
(5)Craig R.
Good solid pub! Delicious soups! I had a burger which was solid. Girlfriend had asian chicken salad - it was good. Home brrewed rootbeer - you cannot beat this! Servicve was not the best - took a long time to get our food.
(3)Ryan G.
(3)C G.
