Sorry, but it's places like this that motivate you to eat salads. A previous reviewer put it perfectly: "underwhelming". Absolutely nothing special about anything on their menu. I like to support local businesses just as much as the next guy, but when the food is as bland and blah as theirs, I just can't do it. I suppose if you have just moved here from northern Canada or something it might be OK, but this is Chicagoland - the standards here are the highest when it comes to flavor and quality! It's a one-star place without question, but the food we ordered (both times - the first time we just assumed somebody had made a mistake, so we went back a second time a few weeks later...found that it wasn't a mistake) was definitely hot, and the staff was perfectly nice, so I suppose that's worth a second star.

Stopped In for dinner of gyros. My memory of their gyros from several years ago exceeded what we got today. While not bad, they were not awesome either. Just middle of the road. Quantity was ok, not overwhelming. I did like the pita chips with hummus quite a bit, however. Something new to try.

Great Gyro, , burgers, dogs, fries, Greek chicken and potatoes, decent pizza. Nice little hot dog/burger diner in Geneva, IL. If your out here and want a quick bite..Munchie P's is a nice break from all the fast food chains out there!

Their gyro's definitely hit the spot. Less one star for the massive amounts of stinky yellow onions they put on the gyro. I love onions, but gimme the sweet kind!! Yummy fries, fried to perfection - I recommend the cheese sauce if you're in the mood for the completely artificial, color enhanced, goopy & processed liquid cheese. Sometimes, that kind of cheese is just SO satisfying!

MK and I have said countless times that we need a good Gyro place near us. Until that time, we're on the never-ending quest to find good ones. This past Saturday (09/06/08) we headed up to Munchie P's and were really happy. MK finally tried a Chicken Gyro which comes with lettuce, tomato and honey mustard. But she opted to get it with the traditional Tzatziki and was a happy girl. I had the regular Gyro and was a happy bunny as well. They serve up crinkle cut fries and service was quick. Look this isn't a glamorous place, but it does the job for a quick take-out/eat-in location for your Gyro fix. We'll be coming back to try other things....or maybe not, just to have Gyros.

I love the corn dogs! The Prices are great. Most everything is really good. And what places serve sloppy joes?

This place is boss, I've been eating here since I was knee high to a duck and I'm pretty sure is one of the reasons why I'm 6'4" 260. The hot dogs are the best in the area by far, gyros are standard but still find their way to my stomach on numerous occasions. The real go to at this spot though are the pizza puffs, I'm serious they are a must buy on the side of any meal. The staff is good, its mostly this same guy who takes your order and I'm pretty sure he was born and continues to live in this place cause he's always there, other than that its his amigo/a's that flame up the food. All in all a great place

Good place for a quick fix. Chicago style hot dogs, Italian beef, gyros, pizza and much more to choose from. Heaven.

The best Gyros and sweet potato fries in the area. Very friendly servers, and reasonable prices. We love Munchie P's.

I love their burger and sweetpotato fries. There's only thing I can't stand is they hand you a few packets of ketchup from behind the counter and when you want more you need to go back and keep asking. I can burn through 20 tiny packets easy and they end up being smeared all over the place. I'd rate Munchie 4 or 5 stars if they had cups with a ketchup dispenser.

Cream of chicken soup is exactly what I was hoping for, other items are good as well. Nothing extraordinary, but when I'm eating grease I like to support a friendly place like this instead of a chain like nearby drive through spots you can find anywhere... Call ahead worked out great- I'll be back!

We had a delicious family dinner at Munchie P's. We came in with a large group, and the staff was incredibly friendly. I must admit we did not eat much variety of food- everyone had a gyro except for my dad who ate a burger- but everyone loved their meal. They gyro plate is definitely a deal as you get everything for two gyros plus fries- great for splitting or having leftovers for the next day. The restaurant was very clean, with plenty of space for many customers. We were there on a Tuesday night and there were many other families present. Again, the staff was incredibly friendly and hard working- overall a great experience at burger/gyro joint.

In my never ending quest to review hot dog stands I received a tip some time ago, informing me that a place called Munchie P's in Geneva had been passed over. I soon bookmarked the location, put the address into my GPS and headed there only to discover that they were closed on Sundays (though nothing was written on the window to tell me this). Less than a week later I returned and on this visit they were open. Munchie P's is quite a bit cleaner and newer looking than most Chicago style hot dog, gyro, burger stands. The tables are clean, the seats and chairs look new, and with large windows all around it's bright on the inside (at least during the day time). There's quite a few tables set up on the inside to sit and eat. Overall, the inside of this establishment is clean if not a little on the sterile side. In stopping by I set out with one primary goal, to try and review their hot dog. I ordered my hot dog and within a few minutes it was ready. I received a skinless dog on a regular non-poppy seed bun. One of the first things I noticed was that the toppings were applied a bit sloppily. The pickle was thick and not quite as long as the sausage itself. There were two thick but short chunks of tomato on the dog so you wouldn't get tomato flavor in every bite, but the bites you did get it in, the tomato juice squirted everywhere. The sport peppers were applied in a haphazard fashion both towards the center of the dog. The onion chunks were thick and tasty. While the mustard and relish were well applied this was a slapdash attempt at a Chicago-style hot dog. Overall this hot dog was slightly more expensive than most places and while average in terms of taste, it required me having to re-work the application of the toppings for this to be reasonably edible. Based on the fact that this was such a carelessly constructed dog, I am going to say this is below average and give Munchie P's two stars.

Good place for cheap food, the best on the menu would be the lemon chicken or the souvlaki. Gyro, dogs, beefs, all pretty average. A few "should skips" would be the sub sandwichs, I had a nasty old salami meat one, the salads (wilty) and the fried fishes. And lot of the food gets dumped from a bag into a fryer, eh, the excellent exception would be their corn dogs! A nod to good customer service, nice staff, and after discussing the bad sub with the manager (owner?) I was refunded for it.

I love the gyros and the place serves fairly quickly at lunch time. Prices are fair too. Support local places and this is a good one to support.

Great burger. Great fries makes this place one of the better fast food I dependent stands round. This pace is worth several visits for their good menu if you happen to be in the are often for lunch.

Small wilty salad. There is no dressing on this. Not a fan. Wont be going back.

Munchie P's is great! Has it lost some of it's charm since its olden days of being a dilapidated blue hut? That is debatable. What IS unquestionable however, is the fact that this place throws down on some of their items. I overall don't really like their gyros or chicken gyros. The gyros themselves aren't bad, it's just that if I'm going to subject myself to eating something that unhealthy, it needs to be amazing. Theirs are just meh. Overall the food is good and they have a couple standout items. The hot dogs, cheeseburgers, and chicken fryz are all delish!! . The selection is huge: pizza, subs, salads, beefs, chicken fingers.. The staff is always nice and the facility is clean. Definitely a place I'll continue to stop at despite the fact that they serve Pepsi products, since I prefer Coke if I'm going to have the occasional soda.

This is a Geneva institution and I remember going there before I could see over the counter. While the building itself has changed dramatically the greasy spoon goodness has remained in tact over the decades. My personal favorites include beef sandwich, Chicago dogs and I was pleasantly surprised with the chicken gyro today at lunch. While I wouldn't personally recommend it, they also have a good selection of salads, with my dad and girlfriend both really enjoying the Greek salad. Huge menu with more choices than you'll know what to do with. Really nice customer service and good prices and specials. Nicer building same old comfort food.

Awesome Cheesy Beef! Put together w/ a much more attention to detail than Portillo's. My order was packaged perfectly. Tried the veggie sticks-lightly fried to perfection. You can add vanilla or cherry to your soda so the first sip is that wonderful tooth roting sugary sweet rush. Looking forward to trying a Gyro or philly next....

A place like this should be open 24/7 -- it would be perfect at 3am! At lunchtime, a little less perfect. Typical Chicago sandwich shop, the hot dogs were good, but nothing outstanding. Big menu, small shop. Most negative thing I can say is that there is not near enough parking around this place, so you may want to get here early -- or late for lunch.

I grew up in Geneva, and I am so sad that I didn't really even try this place until I was in my late-20's. I can never get back all of the Munchie P's that I have missed over those years! Seriously though, this place is awesome. They have very good burgers (if you like a char-grilled tasting one), and their haddock dinner is my absolute favorite fried fish in the entire world. I have said before (not kidding either) that I would buy a house across the street from this place just so that I could walk there to eat. While it may be a "greasy spoon" type establishment, the people who work at this restaurant treat you like it is a fancy dining experience. They are extremely friendly and always on top of things. I do not think I have ever seen them make a mistake. Also, this restaurant is always kept very clean, so do not hesitate to dine in. Munchie P's, I love you! Let me be your honorary mascot. :-)
