Cool little dive bar. It was open way late on a Saturday night, and not at all crowded - and really that alone is enough to give it a rave review from me when I find myself in Geneva, expecting the town's quaintness to suck out all possibility of nightlife. Nice lady behind the bar. Rad music choices on the jukebox, including current indie stuff you wouldn't expect at a dive. My only complaint is that if no one's buying music, it's silent - no radio, no terrible 90's mixtape, nothing. Good motivation to shove another dollar in the machine.

Great spot to chill if you miss the train. Staff is super cool and make you feel like you have been there for years. Plus, depending on the rules of the train, you can get a to go drink for the ride to the city! Will be going back here again.

I can not believe The lady would not let us walk accross the street to the farmers market . The area is a zoo with swedish days but I would never stop at the caboose.

I've seen a better crowd before but what do ya expect for a Pub & Grill that entertains to people coming and going on the Metra train. It works for what it is.

The few times I have been in this bar it has been packed....not packed as in super popular, but packed as in its the only bar open. Its your usual small town dive bar. This wouldn't be my first choice for a bar, but it wouldn't be my last choice either.

I love this place and the staff/owner/manager/bartender - are amazingly friendly and made me feel like I was in one of those places where everyone knows everyone and anyone is welcome! The service was spot on - served timely by incredibly friendly people at prices that were equally notable. The flavor of everything we had was soooo good - I'd surely return here when I came back to the area! Cleanliness was also good - even the men's bathroom, which really says something about the place. Parking nearby and FREE - and selection is incredible. BTW - it was here where I was able to try to "So Hard To Get" "Not Your Father's Rootbeer" and I must say - if my dad had drank more of this he would have been much happier! Thanks for the great time!

This is a train stop that is more of a bar and less of a grill. I have never thought of this place as a food destination because I see no point of it. CBG can be a mad house during peak train schedules. The thought of eating a grilled cheese sandwich amongst the ruckus is not even a consideration I stop for a cocktail or so and go somewhere else for dinner. The owner will sit at the end of the bar with his laptop and talk food with anyone who will listen, like it actually makes a difference. This is a bar serving Metra commuters. The actual difference makers here are the attentive and saucy female bartenders. They can handle the crowds and they make it happen! This is Geneva, but it can be a fun bar..."I'm told they have awesome French fries". Table for two?

Caboose's was the half way point of a nearly six mile walk today and proved to be more interesting than not. Caboose's is a watering hole for a lack of better terms with a small food menu. Nothing fancy, quick sandwiches. As I sat waiting for my food I pulled up Yelp to size up reviews, and was happily surprised to see fellow Yelper James H's review. He left a comment about the owner being a Steelers fan so I made my acquaintance with the man as he sat near the end of the bar. Coming off a home loss to the Bucs we were both shy on positive things to say about the black & gold..but it's always nice to talk shop with another Steelers fan. Getting back to the food..I had a BLT with a side of fries. Average stuff, nothing special. I was happy to see Rolling Rock on the menu..an offshoot from the owners western PA roots no less. Cheers!

I'll start with.. I Love Cabooses! I stop in every time I take the train to the city which is pretty often. First and foremost, they will make you to-go drinks in plastic cups which I have never experienced before and for the hour long train ride to the city it is a god send. (If you are going out that evening haha or if not.) Cabooses is a place where you can tell everyone knows everyone but I've never felt like an outsider. The bartenders are nice and provide good service, the owner, Larry, is wonderful and once he's seen you a few times you feel like a regular and he treats you accordingly. They can make you anything and everything is Great! I usually get a white wine spritzer or a light cocktail, all reasonably priced. And, if your hungry they have good food. Different specials available on different days, I even called ahead an order once, picked it up got some drinks and got on the train. PERFECT. There is space to eat inside as well. The food is good too, slightly better than average bar food. I'd recommend the BLT with fries but my favorite thing is the provolone sticks! Just like mozzerella sticks but the provalone gives off a different flavor that's delicious. Last but certainly not least, try the BLOODY MARY best one I have had in the suburbs. It's made or can be made with Siracha vodka, and comes with a garnish of...cheese,salami,pickled tomato, pickle, blue cheese olive, pepporccini and a celery stick. Don't miss it! And come early -ish on a Sunday because they may run out of the garnish (even though it's still good without it). So now you know where to go before you get on your next train at geneva.

You'll be looked over if you're not a regular. Their draft beer glasses taste like all the garbage they fry in there. Even if you want a beer for the train, DON'T DO IT.

I had a couple of early-afternoon beers here before boarding the Metra for Chicago on 22 June. Service was efficient, but the bartender didn't take any extra time to strike up a conversation; that was reserved for the regulars, of whom there were several. The manager/owner of the place did talk to me when he noticed I had a case of Yuengling sitting on the ground beside me (to take to my brother in Chicago). Apparently, he hails from the Pittsburgh area, so Yuengling is a familiar beer to him. Definitely a solid establishment for a couple of beers before the train (or for the train -- one can take drinks out of the place).

A real low class bar with wary clientele. I can't believe this was Geneva and I guess there are still many redneck rural people in this area as the bar was loaded with all men who cursed and used racist language like it was acceptable. Bei g I. This ba made me appreciate ow loud Metra trains can be as it drained some of the nonsense you will get in tis hick place. Awful bar. God awful

I love walking in downtown Geneva and stopping here for a drink. I always have great service from the bartenders (which happens to be a female only staff), but the manager Larry doesn't give off a good vibe. A lot of customers leave when he walks in and he makes your experience very uncomfortable. I've sat next a few unhappy customers because of him and I've been told of many rude comments he makes towards people.

Great little townie bar. Came in to watch a game and it was their Halloween party. All the bartenders were great, owner was friendly and helping out. Lots of good drinks and snacks for a reasonable price. Definitely will be back.
