Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. I've had Papas after I get off work at my own bar at thier Ashland & Irving location. Always the nicest, curt guys you can ever get @ 2am. So tonight I called Papas from Edison Park at 3am and a Hot, fresh large cheese & pepperoni pie came within 45 mins. Pucha the driver I wish I tipped him more he was so nice. He told me "free cheesy bread" and when I called they said "Hey you sounded nice, it's on us". Great guys and better food!

Oh yum! My roommate ordered this and I had to order more for myself! I've had a lot of bland pizza from a lot of places so I think I've found my go-to pizza place in this neighborhood. Finally something my Italian blood approves of. Love the white pie, the pan, hand tossed and thin crust are all good, the wings are big & juicy, and the garlic bread satisfies my garlic cravings. The driver didn't even want to accept a tip though I had the cash for him. I put the magnet on the fridge to encourage my roommate to stick with this place!

I ordered a pizza from this place late at night. The delivery man did not show up after the hour maximum waiting estimate. After multiple attempts to call them I finally got a hold of them and they told me the delivery man will be there was in 2 minutes. An hour later (and a few more attempts to get a hold of the place) I discovered that the delivery man left to pizza at the foot of my door and lied over the phone that he called me. The pizza was surprisingly distasteful after reheating even though it was more expensive than most competitors. I wouldn't recommend not to pay online or order from this place.

The pizza is above average, but the nice things I can say about this place ends there. First of all, if you order online through a service like grubhub, you may notice that you're paying way more than you ought to. For example, a small Cheesebread costs $8.99. If you order that on grubhub you'll pay $17.98 because you are being charged the cost of a small PLUS whatever it is you actually want to order. Well, nobody's paying $18 for what's effectively a small cheese pizza without the sauce, so you're going to have to go to the actual website to order online. The problem with this is that you will get all the way up to payment information before you get an error screen that informs you that online ordering is not available at this time. This is a rather generous assessment as online ordering is not available ever through their own site. Apparently you have to pay double on grubhub for the convenience. That means you're going to call on the phone, now having been thwarted twice. What you're going to get is a baritone grunt on the other end. That means "Papa Romeo's Evanston can I help you?" or something to that effect. If you manage to pry out of the person on the other end of the line that he is, in fact, affiliated with a business, he's going to next ask you for your phone number. He won't get it the first time, so he'll ask again. The second time he's going to say something close to your number (for example, there is actually an '8' in my phone number, but saying '8' back to me noes in no way shape or form confirm that you've got the rest of the picture here). At this point he's going to move on. It doesn't matter if he got your number right, at least not to him. Next he'll ask for your address. Just like your phone number, he's going to ask again, and just like your phone number he's going to move on because he doesn't feel up to getting it right. You'll know you've come to this point in the story because he's going to say "what kind of pizza do you want". Apparently you don't get to call this man for anything but a pizza. Let me rephrase: you don't get to call this man for anything but a thin crust pizza. It doesn't matter how many times you try to correct him; he will always repeat the size of the pizza followed by "thin crust" back to you. Toppings will not be mentioned. At this point you can do one of two things: ask to speak to someone else, or slog through it. Fun twist here is that both choices get the man to tell you that he'll have his manager call you back later. You will receive a call from a number not listed as affiliated with a business. The "manager" on the other end (we'll get back to this in a bit) will then take down all of your information from scratch as if the peach of a time you just had with some grunting person (who turns out to actually be the delivery driver) never happened. If you've gotten this far, congratulations! You've placed (what would be considered at any other pizza place ever) a normal order! They will tell you 30-40 minutes. Give them at least an hour before you start to get mad, or you'll have a coronary before you ever see dinner. I am turning over in my head a theory that they are actually driving down to the N Clark location to place your order as if they were a customer, and then bring it back out to your location at an up-charge. Next comes the best part: they got your order wrong. They outright didn't bring items you paid for, brought you different items than the ones you wanted (e.g. plain wings instead of hot wings despite confirming hot wings over the phone twice), and I was kidding with you. That wasn't the best part. The best part is when you call back for a refund now a couple hours in from your original misguided thought to call these people and order dinner. They'll let you know there's no manager there. Not for several hours at least. The person you spoke to? Who knows. They'll offer to refund you a ball park estimate of the items they screwed up, but only as a verbal agreement to credit it toward your next order. A verbal agreement. If you push them on this, they will suddenly find someone to hand the call off to. It will sound just like the "manager" you spoke to way back when you were still under the delusion that you were going to enjoy your dinner. This time, though, he's got no time for you. He says 'hello?' before you knew the call was being handed off. Listen to me closely now: Be ready to respond. Immediately. The slightest pause, even if you're just surprised that the person on the other end just changed abruptly, will be taken as a rude dismissal of this person's time, and they WILL hang up on you. Long story short: Pizza should not be dramatic. Wholly unacceptable, it's truly stunning that this place can keep its doors open.

Read the other reviews and it seems like the online ordering isn't great. But the phone order works. Main thing is this a good pizza for the price. Much much better than dominos, papa johns, etc.

My boyfriend and I decided to use the mailer coupon that this place sent out to all of the Evanston residents. We had a choice of this place and two others, but we decided to give the local business a try because they had a good deal. It may have been one of the worst overall experiences I have ever had in ordering pizza. It snowed in the area last night, which is no surprise. But you cannot tell me that it takes 1 hour and 20 minutes to deliver one pizza. Especially not after them telling me it would be "30 to 40" minutes on the phone. We called numerous times and got the run around from the gentleman on the phone. Luckily, they refunded us the money that we had been charged for the food. Unfortunately for us, the story does not end here. Both of us became violently sick with food poisoning the next day. It had to be the pizza because he tried eating a leftover slice the next day and it did not stay down for more than half an hour. All in all, while the pizza may have been free... we still ended up paying for it. If you can avoid this place, DO IT. Pay an extra few dollars somewhere else because at least you won't be feeling it the next day...

Used the online order, which is through a separate company. The wrong location of papa romeos called me and said they had my order. I canceled it and called this location and placed my order. large thin crust half bacon when i got there they charged me the online order price = $19 with tax, even though in their window it said 3 topping large for $11. I get home and there is a couple little pieces of bacon. Literally a cheese pizza. Pizza tasted good just a horrible experience all around. Do not use the online order site. Call it in and ask what their special is.
