Fast, reliable, and consistently good. Just like the other shops in the chain, they deliver quickly and this location is centrally located in downtown Evanston. I had a very specific order with extras and they delivered on it perfectly. Great experience, would definitely order from them again.

Usually their service is great! When I need something fast and yummy, I go to them. However today I ordered through the app. a tuna sandwich, and while the picture was of a delicious looking sandwich, what I got was a tiny scoop of tuna and a weak looking sandwich. And when I say tiny, I mean tiny. Like literally, one bite of tuna. So disappointed.

Freakiest fastest Jimmy's that I've ever had. I didn't even finish ordering a second sandwich for a coworker who had decided to join last minute before our first order of sandwiches arrived. I have eaten at Jimmy's on the East and West coast and this has consistently been the fastest. Obviously as usual the sandwiches are delish. Beach Club + bacon! Oh, and there's this super cute delivery guy named Xavier. Ask for him. He's fast and fun to look at ;)

I can say without a doubt I have never had a bad experience at any Jimmy John's. I prefer the 10. Hunter's Club on french. The bread is always tasty and fresh, and the sandwich is loaded with meat and that creamy mayo Jimmy's is known for. I would take Jimmy John's any day over Subway. The only gripe I can have is that I am pretty picky about my guac, and the the stuff the put on the Beach Club can barely pass for green sauce based on the idea of guac. But, I am never let down by the Hunter's Club. The minor price difference is worth it for a great sandwich made super quick. Unpretentious and straightforward service with a smile.

I work in Evanston so I order Jimmy John's fairly often. The last two times have been beyond amazing service-wise. Seriously, I'll place an online order and a delivery guy will show up with my sandwich in less than 10 minutes. The last time I ordered, I placed the order at 1:36 and received it by 1:42. Mind you, I work in South Evanston, not downtown. They received the order, made the sandwich and rode their bike about a mile in less than 5 minutes. Insanely impressive. They really are freaky fast!
(5)
Bobette J.
I have been ordering from that place for a while. It's not that cheap but easy to get to on the phone easy on timing of delivery, and I love there Vito subs, I I am wishing they can add soup and salads to their menu. They can place soup in a non spill able container and with fast delivery soup says hot and sandwich stays without harm. If It were not for Jimmy Johns's delivery we wold have to wait longer.
(5)
Danielle O.
Rescues me and many coworkers several times a week. Freaky fast! But also a darn good sandwich and a nice staff.

Glad there's a Jimmy John's nearby for when I crave a non-greasy but quick meal, and Al's doesn't deliver. As far as simple sandwiches with fresh ingredients go, this location (and the chain in general) just doesn't hold a candle to my favorite local sandwich shop. Still, a great thing to have around. They really are FAST. The sandwiches are okay... very consistent though, so that's a plus. No more sprouts though :( I dunno when they stopped, but I asked a couple of months ago and I believe they said "we don't even have them in the restaurant anymore" - Now that I think about it, I'm not sure if this meant they're out or stopped serving them, but it definitely sounded like no more permanently on the phone. PS - 55cent for 2 loaves of day old bread! Great for bread pudding, your own sandwiches, etc. They're not stale at all when you buy them day-old ,but they don't really last more than a couple of days.
(3)
Rowena L.
Usually this place has my sandwich ready before I've even paid. [That's either saying something about the speed of the sandwich makers or that of the cashier.] I only ever get the vegetarian one, so that's all I can comment on. It's not a gourmet sandwich (despite what's on their logo), but it's good and fast.
(4)
Kit G.
The address listed with this entry is their old address. They are currently located at 1729 North Sherman Avenue. I think that all Jimmy John's make great sandwiches, but this one is extra special because they staff is so nice and they are exceptionally fast! I love the avocado sauce on the #12 - so good!
(4)
Sheldon S.
These sandwiches are great for a grab and go or simply sitting down and taking in each bite. I had the BLT, the Italian, and the turkey club. What these sandwiches have in common is that they blend the filling with the lite, the chewy with the crispy, and the class of an upscale sandwich with the humble abode of your friendly neighborhood sandwich shop. This is an all-around well-to-do place for any fan of good sandwiches that are made to order at light-speed.

I know the slogan is "subs so fast you'll freak" but they really live up to that, I am always shocked at how fast they get my food to me. Love it, good sandwiches in a hurry. Very consistent service and quality.

This is my favorite spot for lunch. Always clean, people are polite, service is good, sandwiches are consistently correct and delicious. I've had delivery, too and always pleased with my choice. Go for the day old bread, it's a steal!

I always order a #5, no tomatoes or onions, add the peppers, and before I can get to the end of my order it seems to already be waiting for me at the end of the counter. There's something so delicious about this sandwich. I know it's a chain and I know they've had some sprout issues in the past, but I'm still a fan.
(4)
Karen C.
I freakin' love the freaky fast Jimmy Johns... and this location is one of my favorites. Great tunes on the radio, the staff is always fast, and my sandwich is always delicious. I only wish they had more seating. If I could have a Beach Club sans-mayo every day, life would be complete.
(5)
Kristen S.
The delivery is awesome - always get my order right, and they are super fast. However, whenever I have ordered in the store, they get my order wrong. How is that possible?! Get JJ's delivery - awesome every time. I really like the turkey tom unwich!
(4)
Matt B.
Jimmy John's sandwiches are generally decent, as you know. But I give credit to this location for always having about 4x the amount of necessary employees behind the counter. Seriously, it's ridiculous that my sandwich is done being made before I've received my change from the guy at the register. Jimmy John's, your speed is matched only by your delicious tuna salad.
(4)
Dustin P.
Jimmy, You are the beneficiary of prime real estate. Your sandwiches are okay, but let's be honest, you would lose every battle you ever fought against Potbelly's. If the weather weren't so damn cold in the winter and hot in the summer, then all the students to the north would be more apt to walk a little further south for better food. In any event, you still could kill a Subway sub with your bare hands. Thanks for being convenient. Best, Dustin P.

Turn the music down and stop your delivery staff from taking up half the seating. Place is like a student hang out.

Finally, a new sandwich. #17. Too bad that it is just a ham sandwich with bacon. I know that Jimmy John's prides themselves on simplicity, and for the most part I agree that it is the way to go in a sandwich shop, but I would like to see some more new items or features on the menu once in a while. How about letting some of the "Rockstars" feature the sandwiches that they make for themselves when they get bored at work. They probably come up with good stuff. The Evanston Jimmy Johns is typically fast, friendly, and clean. Unlike Subway, JJ's actually has good bread, both white and wheat. Also unlike Subway, that bread smell doesn't stick to you after you dine in (or just step in for a minute in Subway's case). Jimmy Johns was the 10,000 chain restaurant to buy into the TGI Friday's doctrine of campy wall coverings, but for some reason it doesn't bother me here. I like that the music is kind of loud. I need that once in a while.

Upside: Standard SPROUTS on your sandwich with some good, thick, hearty grainy, wheat type bread, if you request it. Downside: questionable health and sanitation practices. Also, they sometimes run out of the thick grain bread later at night.

Kristina K.
I love you! I love you beach club, less mayo, no tomatoes, extra sprouts. I love your crunch and your fake avacado spread.

Ben W.
I don't know what Jimmy John's puts in there sandwiches but they are excellent. Only thing that keeps me from coming here more often is the small portions for similar prices to other sandwich shops. However Jimmy John's is far superior to Subway and the dreadful Potbelly's.

Elena R.
I love this Jimmy John's. The people are so nice and the service is really "Freaky Fast." It's perfect for grabbing a sandwich and walking to the lake. You have to go here!

We are part-time Evanston residents. Shortly after arriving in August, we were walking down Sherman looking for a nice, quick lunch spot. We noticed that Jimmy Johns had moved from their old location to Sherman. I'm a vegetarian, so I ordered the veggie sub. I can't remember what my husband ordered, but it was kind a standard sub with salami, cheese, etc. The sprouts on the sandwich were nice. They pride themselves on fast service. There were about 8 people behind the counter and the sandwiches were produced in a flash. That being said, "quick" does not equal "good". There was nothing really bad about either sandwich, but nothing particularly outstanding either. For my money, I'd much rather go to Philly's on Emerson, where you can get a very tasty grilled sub on wonderful Gonella bread with crispy, seasoned fries and drink; all for the same price as we paid at Jimmy Johns for a sub that was just mediocre. We have chalked Jimmy Johns off our list of sandwich places.

wow - they ARE fast. My co-worker and I order regularly from here and we call and 5 minutes later they are at our office. We actually did freak. We only had one issue. One time my co-worker only had a $20 bill and the driver had NO change. My advice - don't deliver food if you don't have any change. He was a little mad (because he had to go back to the store for change), but come on...there is no way he deserved a $15 tip.
(4)
Dan E.
Unfortunately I get sick whenever eat here. I worked with someone who also got sick like clockwork whenever the company ordered sandwiches from here. I suspect it may be preservatives in the bread or mayo or maybe the bread is not thoroughly baked and its a reaction to the yeast.

Ramon R.
I usually go here either for the BLT or the Italian. The sandwiches are wonderfully cheap, but there's a reason behind this: Often, they don't come with cheese or all the toppings. That's extra. Give this place a visit but go to Subway more often for guaranteed cheap (and full) sandwiches.
