Burgers
Burger or Hamburger is savored as the most desired fast food meal in the United States. A hamburger is basically a sandwich prepared by stuffing ground meat patty, generally beef, between two slices of a bun cut in half. Hamburger is also famous for its seasoning. Most popular condiments used in hamburgers in the United States are mustard, mayonnaise, and ketchup. Besides ground meat patty, hamburgers are also stuffed with lettuce, onions, tomato slices, pickles, and cheese.
Hamburgers are also categorized into two types in the United States. Fast food hamburger and individual hamburgers served at restaurants are two basic types of burgers served in the United States. The individual hamburgers served at restaurants are prepared using everything including lettuce, onion, tomato, and sliced pickles as well as melted cheese on the patty or crumbled on top. American restaurants also serve veggie burgers for those who don't relish meat. Cheeseburgers are also hot favorite in the United States.
McDonalds is the most popular fast food burger restaurant serving different types of burgers in the United States. On the other hand, there are several restaurants such as Burger King are famous for serving the best hamburgers in the United States. Most burger restaurants in the United States often serve hamburgers with French fries and other condiments. If you have a liking for burgers in the United States, then you won't be disappointed. FOOD COMA !! This is not a healthy food den. If you want to meet people that eat vitamins, go to the health food store. Over here they could fill the new Boeing 777 with the grease that emanates from this joint. Chances are if this your 2nd time coming here, you knew what you are getting yourself into. The fries are fantabulous
(4)Siva N.
They have a really friendly staff. They give a LOT of fries. Burgers are good. Nothing out of the ordinary. Best of all free peanuts.
(4)Angela C.
Long story short, I'd rate the burgers at Five Guys (FG) and Edzo's to be about the same in taste and cost. At FG I've tried their regular cheese burger and double bacon cheeseburger. Though greasy, I thought their burgers were slightly less greasy than those from Edzo's, or perhaps the condiments (mayo, ketchup, mustard) accumulating on my hand as I ate were masking some of the oil. The meat is not as good as Edzo's, but the toppings and overall burger is better for the same cost (presuming the same toppings). The fries are ok. I like FG's clean interior, although I find their choice of filling their walls with rave reviews about themselves to be narcissistic and unnecessary.

Great burgers! Not greasy but still juicy- how do they do it? I hate it when burgers drip while I'm eating them. Plus, you can add as many toppings as you want, which makes the price more worth it. I usually get the little cheeseburger. I don't think it's little at all; it definitely fills me up! Make sure you get the fries. I like the Cajun ones and they're always spiced perfectly. The employees are always nice, and it's a big location so you'll never have to wait for a table. Plus, you can munch on free peanuts while you wait for your food!
(4)Zee X.
The burgers are a sub-par version of McDonald's... Nothing special. But the french fries--now, those are the star of the show. Five Guys has the best, and freshest, french fries.
(3)Nick B.
Over priced for nothing special 11.90 for a hot dog fries and a drink and 16.23 for a cheeseburger fries and drink cmon now rediculous

Five Guys as a chain is pretty consistent everywhere. Are they phenomenal burger joints? Nah, not really. But it's definitely a notch above other fast food chains. The burgers are cooked to order I think, definitely not dry and taste infinitely better than the cardboard burgers BK serves a couple of blocks down. The main flavors come from all the toppings you can modify your burgers with, which I highly suggest because otherwise it's quite plain and bland, so they're not really amazing burgers in general. Just very good for a fast food chain. The fries they serve are not crispy on the outside, and isn't fluffy enough on the inside, like fries should be imo. At least they actually taste like potatoes - but a friend said she hated that about five guys fries when she tried so... maybe that's not a good thing for everyone. For me, this is pretty low on my list of to-go places for a burger in town.
(3)Emily T.
I only come here to get fries because THEY ARE AWESOME. Honestly some of the best fries I have ever eaten. They are also super generous in terms of a serving size which makes the price super reasonable. I think the staff is pretty friendly and the portion sizes are more than great for their price. I have yet to try a burger, but I'm sure it'll be great!
(4)Kenneth S.
I decided to try five guys after hearing so much hype. I've had better burgers from dive bars that tasted better than than five guys. For the quality, this place is EXPENSIVE. My goodness, I paid $12.20 for burger, fries, and a drink. The best thing about this place is the fries. If you want a good burger, I suggest you go to Kumas.
(2)Simona L.
Well, if you love burgers and fries than this is the place for you to be. We also live in the Evanston area, and five guys is blocks away from us, so it's just such a nice thing to just be able to walk there. The burgers and fries are just amazing...It's like they all melt in your mouth. It is not that expensive and if you are in a rush and don't have time to sit for dinner than you came to the right place. The food i will say is very greasy, and probably not to very good for you if you eat it every day...But once in a while is Heawen :) Well worth it..Go and try their burgers and fries, you will love it !
(5)Michael P.
Great ambiance, I like the peanuts and the sacks of potatoes but it ends there. The burgers are ok at best, the service is dis-interested and the fries were soggy. I hate soggy fries.
(2)Jaime J.
staff is friendly. food is pricey for a 'choose your own toppings' burger. unless you get every topping on your burger, it seems like you're paying about $2-3 extra just for a regular burger.. fries were good. eating area was a bit cramp but it is next to loyola's campus.
(3)Emily M.
I like a good burger and my burger from Five Guys was pretty good. Like a previous reviewer, minus 1 star because the cheese on my burger wasn't melted.. is that how they normally do it? I don't know. Maybe that's their thing but I prefer my cheese melted. The place was clean and overall, its a good choice for a solid burger for not that much money.
(4)Michael M.
Tasty burgers, but how about a PRETZEL BUN or something thicker to help hold the whole thing together. It just falls apart before you can savor the whole burger.
(4)Yo U.
Five Guys Burgers and Fries uses good quality toppings for its burgers, but its burgers and fries, while tasty, are a bit too pricey for fast food. Overall, I'm glad that I tried Five Guys, but I'm even happier that someone else was paying! ;-)
(3)Sydney V.
Good alternative to Edzo's when you want a burger with a lot of toppings on it and the fries here are more to my taste than Edzo's. Peanuts are a great snack while waiting. The servings are huge.
(4)Sharon C.
I had a craving and so came here for late lunch/early dinner with a friend. I do find Five Guys to be a little pricey for what it is, generally, but I had the single bacon burger with a large cajun fry to share, and both were delicious. Word of caution: we could not finish that fry, and we were trying very hard. I don't think we even ate half of it. Our eyes were bigger than our stomachs, but just remember that they fill the cup with fries, put the cup in the bag, and then shovel more fries in on top of it.
(4)Tanya V.
Everyone here in Evanston raves about Edzo's - saying that they make the best burgers... yada, yada, yada. But when I need a real burger with a soft bun, fresh ingredients and delicious, fresh potato french fries, I go to Five Guys. It's a chain, it's fast food, but they really do a good job in making burgers and fries in a fresh and delicious way. I like it. Go there. (their fries are a million times better than Edzo's fries, ftr)
(3)Kazu N.
Fresh, tasty, fast, and affordable. A solid place for burgers and fries. Though the menu is really short, the food is consistently good. I also like the friendly staff here. Believe me or not, it is a million times better than Edzo.
(4)Jennifer M.
We were passing through Evanston when we found this establishment in the knick of time. Forty minutes before closing, we parallel parked the car and walked inside. I ordered a little cheeseburger. My boyfriend ordered the cheeseburger. The difference is, one or two beef patties. We customized our burgers by choosing what we wanted on them from a list of ingredients. As if that weren't enough, there are other condiments available for an additional cost. A regular order of fries is served very generously; there's more than enough for two people to share it. I love this place. You won't find a better hamburger or fries from any other fast food restaurant. There was only one employee working behind the counter. He did a good job doing everything by himself, including keeping his composure. I like the divider, I'm assuming, for the line this place generates during lunch time. It's the first one I've seen at any Five Guys location and it's a great idea. What I didn't like about this particular spot, was how uncomfortable chilly it was in the dining room.
(4)Mike P.
What to write that hasn't been written? Five Guys makes a great fast food burger! The Evanston location is family dinner central on Fridays after work so if you don't like kids, don't visit until after 7:00. I have kids, so I'm all about it.
(5)Cristina C.
What could I not say about this place?? It is the most greasy burger you could ever have for the most reasonable price. Maybe I am over exaggerating on the greasy part but I love their burger. I am not a burger fan but I can finish this burger in a snap! I especially love the peanuts you could munch on the side. My family definitely loves that part :)
(5)Jenelle J.
I love this place !The employees there are awesome and so is the burgers and fries ! I went there for the first time today and I'm glad I did .My daughter really liked it too !
(5)Erika G.
Come on, really?! This place is supposed to be some great burger joint? The cheeseburger I got was perfectly unremarkable. The fries soggy and flavorless. Again, really? This is supposed to be a great burger place? In who's opinion? They've got signs all over the restaurant hyping their "great burgers!", but all the articles seem to be from . . . 2004-2009. American cheese on the cheeseburger?! No. Just, no. And they apparently do not cook to order, my burger was cooked to death. Bad. And EXPENSIVE. $11.80 for a cheeseburger, small fries and a small drink? Hint: M Burger average tab is $7. The decor is raw and unappealing. Bags of potatoes are apparently decorating items, as are giant boxes of peanuts. Red checkers are everywhere. Extremely unimaginative decor. Wow, don't come in here if you have a peanut allergy, you'll go into anaphylactic shock instantly. Frankly, the little burgers at M Burger beat these. Won't bother with even one of the Five Guys again.
(2)David S.
The burger, if you get the little burger, isn't bad. Single pattie, basic, greasy, burger. The fries are served in large portions and are nothing short of disgusting. But really, this ain't no In-n-Out and it ain't no What-a-burger. I guess you need a hyphen to have a good pseudo-regional burger chain.
(2)Chris W.
Burgers YES! Fries? Well, they're fries. I heard SO MUCH hype about the fries here that when I tasted them all I could do was shrug with a tinge of disappointment. I mean I ate my fries don't' get me wrong, and I will continue to, but they're not the cream of the crop award winning fries that a lot of people make them out to be. I also kind of hate that they throw them in your bag (though I do like that they give you so many) and then EVERYTHING just becomes this big greasy mess. The burgers are juicy, greasy, fresh and piled with toppings. You should probably have a stack of napkins on hand so that you can keep wiping your mouth after every bite, no matter how dainty. I suppose the burgers are a buck or so more expensive than I'd LIKE to pay, but nothing to detour me price wise. I also wish they had a little larger selection burger-wise. The staff is wonderful, friendly, accommodating and even once gave me change for a dollar when I needed quarters for parking when the jean store on the same street was like 'umm buy something if you want change' to which I wanted to go back there and throw peanuts at them... I totally could too. The peanuts are free and plentiful at Five Guys.

So the other day i came to evanston to visit my cousin but got a bit hungry and noticed they opend a 5 guys. ive been there once but the one in oaklawn and it was decently good so i said," what the heck, might aswell while im here." i told the guy i wanted a single hanburger(little burger) but when he gave me my reciept i noticed he charged me for a regular double.. when i got my burger it lacked flavor and wasnt really hot it was warm i didnt go back to tell them anything because i was already a few blocks away and had reached my destination. overall the service was OK the wait was OK and the quality/taste. fair i guess... i mean if you want an ok meal 5guys is definatly it..
(2)John K.
I understand that the average rating for Five Guys is lower than what I'm giving them here. I gave my rating here because I honestly think its better than most of the fast food options that are available in Evanston. Here are the great things I see about Five Guys: You have the option to select what you want to put on your burger. I just love having a mixture of A1 and Hot Sauce along with some Jalepenos along with the beef. Who else gives you that option anyways (I mean among fast food places?) Prices are fine and the Cajun fries (though you gotta watch out for them carbs) are irresistible. Need something to do while you're waiting for your burger? All-you-can-eat peanuts right in front of you. Also, you don't have some insecure security guard relishing his power at 2 in the morning barking at people who come to eat, using the silliest excuses (ahem BK). Five guys tastes fine to me. People might disagree. Feel free to!.
(4)Sara V.
I used to work close to Five Guys and would occasionally pick up lunch here for my coworker and I to enjoy. The burgers are pretty good. I like that you can essentially create your own at no extra cost. Fries pretty good although they don't hold a candle to In & Out (5 years later and I still miss it). They forgot things a couple of times, but they were nice about it so all forgiven.
(3)Kenny O.
How do I describe Five Guys? Above average burgers, greater above average prices, convenient location. I tend to come to Five Guys only after Edzo's and bopNgrill are both closed (since both have really limited hours), and it does its job when I just want a fatty juicy burger. Getting unlimited peanuts is a plus, too, since I seem to get in the habit/addiction of peeling peanuts even when I don't feel like eating them. I'm weird--I know. Fries + Seasoning are pretty good. It's hard to order a burger without also getting fries (even when I know I can't/shouldn't finish them!).
(3)Matt B.
So there I am, enjoying the Matt B. Special (double cheeseburger, American Cheese, raw onion, & A-1 Sauce) at my semi-local Five Guys, when the man at the table next to me hands a woman $20 and a cell phone and says, "Now when you call that number, make sure you say the right name." And it was at that moment that I realized that Five Guys isn't only a place to get a tasty calorie-laden lunch...it's also a place where cops and informants intermingle, and I can get a front row seat! Five Guys: Come for the Fries, Stay for Amateur Reenactments of McNulty and Bubs in Season One of The Wire. Oh, INDEED.
(4)Ehow C.
Bountiful fries, batman! Seriously though, I prefer establishments give you a reasonable amount of food. I ordered a small fries and got a large+ amount. Their fries are good with the Cajun seasoning, albeit a little on the soft side. I'd put the burger someplace in between fast food and not fast food. It's pretty decent, and the topping choices are numerous (and free). It's certainly not the best burger that I've had (nor will it ever), but it's good if you don't want Burger King and Edzo's is closed for the day. I will say they need to tone down on the rave reviews on their walls. We get it. You're a famous chain. Now get over yourself and make my burger.
(3)Joanne B.
They forgot about my order! I went to this Five Guys last Friday and was probably one of the first customers of the day. I placed my order ($9 for a little cheeseburger, fries, and drink), and waited for them to call me. A couple big business orders came in at the same time. The people who were before me were served after 5-10 minutes. The crew was so busy about the other business orders, they put my bag in back. After about 15-20 minutes, I inquired and I finally was served as soon as a fresh batch of fries was made. My regular fry was huge! It could have easily fed two people, but, as with everything here, was overpriced. The fries reminded me of the old Boardwalk Fries chain. Those were my favorite fries of all-time. The burger, while fresh, was nothing to jump up and down. When you walk in, you can tell the chain has a bit of an ego. They have self-congratulatory "best burger" articles everywhere. A few are fine, but this is a bit ridiculous. I might come here again, but the prices are just too high.
(3)Victoria W.
This five guys location is the best experience I've ever had at any five guys. I think this location nailed it. It is very clean and convenient. The staffs are super helpful and friendly. My friend did not know the difference between the junior burger and the regular burger, and they explained it eloquently. The difference is that the junior burger is actually a regular sized burger, their version of the regular actually has double the patties, so consider regular to be extra large here. We prefer the regular fries to the fries with the spices because pretty much the spices is put in a separate container and you just sprinkle it on to regular fries. I thought if they decide to call something cajun fries, they should do something a bit more flavorful and creative rather than just sprinkle on seasoning. I got the veggie burger because you can pretty much add everything they have listed (condiments and vegetable options) all for free and add as much as you wanted. The burgers were average, nothing special. However, they have an awesome cola-cola machine that has just about as many flavors as you can imagine. The decoration of this location is also nice, it features all the famous comments about five guys. Overall, even though five guys is not super special for burgers, I give this place 4 stars for service, friendliness, cleanliness and deco. Try Edzo's if you want amazing burgers, however, they do have limited hours(usually closed by late afternoon).
(4)Alan I.
Great burgers! Be sure to enjoy the free peanuts while waiting for your order. ^_^
(4)Barry J.
Fast, cheap, more than adequate burger chain. Edzo's it ain't, but at least I can order fast and stuff my face without getting elbowed by NU students and the stroller brigade. I like how the brown bags become translucent with french fry grease. The fries could use a little salt.
(4)Tom H.
My first time visiting this chain. Good burger: 2 well-done patties with nice meat flavor, not too greasy. Hand-formed, loose, not a machine-formed burger. Lots of toppings to choose from, some of them just wrong (mayonnaise!). I opted for pickles, lettuce & grilled onions, as I wanted to taste the quality of the beef--it was good. They only cook well-done burgers, which was ok for me, but might not please everybody. The burger looked deceptively small at first, but was plenty. The only cheese offered is American, a big minus. The bun was unexceptional, but fine for the purpose. A regular order of fries was a ridiculously large portion. I know, I could easily have left half of them behind, but they were good! Irregular, large, skin-on Idaho russets (they list today's potato on a chalkboard over the ordering counter, an interesting touch). "Fill your own cup" drink stations with standard Coke products, similar to everywhere else, no surprises there. I had lemonade. A box of unshelled peanuts sits near the front door for your munching pleasure, though they were unsalted, so not that enticing. It seemed to take quite a while for my order to come up, in a mostly empty place, but I guess that's the price you pay for cooking to order. The cost, $12 for a burger, regular fries and small drink, seemed a little high. Room was clean and attractive, in a red-and-white tile 1950's McDonald's sort of way. Lots of tables, all clean and ready to use, which is a miracle in most quick-service places. A crew member cleaned continuously while I was there, which I appreciated. Friendly service from the woman who took my order and the guy who served it up.
(4)Paul H.
This is the second Five Guys store I have been to and they were both of the same excellent quality. The burgers are above average as are the fries. The portions are good. I prefer the burgers with the bacon and the cajun fries! Not quite as good as In-'N-Out burger on the west coast (but better than Whattaburger in the south) but definitely a good burger chain. I like the cleanliness of the stores and the customer service level of the staff.
(4)Sandy N.
Reasons why I like Five Guys: 1) I miss In N' Out, 2) their bacon is always crispy, 3) I get to order the burger with BBQ sauce, 4) free peanuts. I was really excited to find that Five Guys was opening a location in Evanston because then I wouldn't have to get off of the red line at Loyola for a good burger or drool thinking about Five Guys burgers while staring at the closed store as I wait for the bus at Fullerton and Clark after my morning workout. I'm going to give Five Guys 4 stars for 1) finally being within a convenient distance to where I work and 2) having better burgers than Edzo's. While Edzo's has really amazing fries, their burgers are really only so-so and pretty greasy. Five Guys' fries kinda suck but the burgers are good. Can't win 'em all, I guess.
(4)Jenny F.
warning: NOT PEANUT ALLERGY PPL FRIENDLY! I love the fact that everything is local--they have a board telling you exactly where the potatoes are from! And they provide a lot of different toppings for free (lettuce onion mushrooms bbq sauce jalepenos, etc), not to mention the awesome free peanuts. so good. Their burgers are okay. They're not the best I've ever had, nor do I find myself craving them at 10pm every day, but I do know that I can food coma rest easy knowing that the cows were humanely raised :) The servings of fries are HUGE. I split a large with some friends and when we pulled out the cup of fries there were so many left in the bag that I just ate those. lol Decent burger. Good fries, great peanuts.
(3)Don P.
Gave this place a rest for a couple of weeks, and come back to find that they now offer a "small" order of fries more suitable for ingestion by a single human being. That right there is enough for me to give a star back to them :-)
(3)David Z.
I like this location better than the Five Guys near Loyola. There appears to be more seating, and it is less crowded. We went on a Monday right at lunch time and there was no line at all, so that was nice. The burgers came out very fast and were pretty tasty. I had a double cheeseburger, and split an order of fries with a co-worker. Also had a few free peanuts. It tasted very good, but the cheese was actually not melted on the burger, so minus a star for that. The fries were way too salty (even though I ate them all) for my tastes, so minus another star for that. They do give you a HUGE portion of fries though, which is cool. The peanuts weren't anything special, but they were decent, and you certainly can't complain about free. When we got back to work I felt like I gorged a little too much and felt a little disgusting. Next time I'd go with the smaller burger, split an order of fries, and skip the peanuts. All in all, this is a fine place to go for lunch, but don't expect to be blown away. Decent food, quick service, but the prices can also be pretty high if you get fries and a drink ($10-$13). But if you want to be a cheap-o like me, just get water - you'll need plenty to drown out the salty fries. EDITED TO ADD: I'd still prefer this place to Edzo's down the street.....
(3)Richard G.
The burger was big and greasy and you need two hands to pick it up, very tasty. I especially loved the fresh cut fries, worth my money, I'll be back. The only thing I don't like about this place is the name, couldn't they have come up with something better than Five guys?
(4)Harshal V.
I'm finally having the much talked about Five Guys Burger. It obviously draws comparisons to In N' Out seeing how they look alike & claim similar things. Verdict burger good but In N' Out is better though there Cajun Style fries are wayy better however staff not nearly as friendly but you do get free peanuts.
(3)Joseph C.
Pretty much all I eat every Wednesday, same thing, little cheeseburger w/ fries and a coke. Not many fast food companies can keep their food as delicious as it is 5 hours since you've bought it, but these guys do it and they do it right. They fill their to-go bags with all the fries you can imagine to boot, and I eat them all! Gorge gorge gorge!
(5)Michael C.
OK, Five Guys, I don't know how you did it, but you certainly accumulated a lot of hype around a pretty basic product. On the one hand, I appreciate the simplicity of the branding: basic red and white, burgers wrapped in foil, brown paper bags full of fries, etc. These simple and distinctive touches are endearing, and achieve an atmosphere of clean fast-foodiness that isn't nearly as repellent as the interior of most comparable establishments. The best thing about Five Guys is the french fries. I am not going to complain that they give me too many, this would be folly, instead I am going to compliment them for giving me too many. With a bag full of fries, I am well equipped to share with my wife, canine companion, or unmarried friends who don't have their own wives to share with. I enjoy them with and without the Cajun seasoning, which adds a pleasant kick of flavor to the otherwise conventional - albeit spectacular - fresh cut fries. On the other hand, the burgers at Five Guys are not even close to the hype. They are decent, yes, but not worth the din of excitement clamoring around the opening of each and every new location. The meat is bland, sometimes it's dry, sometimes it's better. Adding American cheese to the burger - the only option they offer - turns your sandwich into a salty, gloppy mess. There are some situations that call for American cheese, a bland Five Guys burger is not one of them. At least the other toppings are free, and with their extensive selection of toppings, one can create some pretty distinctive burger concoctions without escalating the cost of their meal. I will take a moment to reign in the negativity and point out that I am giving Five Guys three stars. They aren't bad. I would hesitate to call them "A-OK," but they are convenient and inexpensive. The single most frustrating thing about Five Guys, particularly the Evanston location, is the consistently poor quality of their buns. Their stale, stale buns. The quality of the meal I enjoyed at the Loyola location was significantly better than Evanston in the bun department. Perhaps I'm spending too much time on what many people may consider an insignificant aspect of the hamburger, but a deficiency in any of the key ingredients can ruin an otherwise quality burger. Meat. Cheese. Bun. Five Guys are not winning any points in the meat department, nor are they losing any. They lose a point in the cheese department by only offering American cheese, and they lose 6 or 7 by serving the crappiest buns ever baked. McDonalds has better buns. Hell, White Castle has better buns. They get a point for offering free toppings. And a lot of points for good fries. Three Stars, that's as good as they get.
(3)Tom M.
it's ok but the food is just average and a bit $teep in the price !
(3)Barbara B.
Heard so many people raving about how good this place is. We spent $40 for 4 double cheese burgers and a huge bag full of greasy, mushy, burnt fries without salt. Cheeseburger was good. Seemed like an upscale version of Wendy's. So totally NOT impressed with the whole experience.
(1)Taylor J.
MM if I could have 5 guys and In-n-out in the same town, my cheap burger needs would be satiated. The main attraction is the multitude of toppings that you can add to your burger, but they're also very consistent - I've never had a bad burger here. Be warned, one order of fries is enough to split among at least 3 people. Just waiting til these guys open up more locations across the country, I'm rooting for ya!
(4)Don H.
I have been hearing about Five Guys from several folks. I noticed the first one on Clark and Fullerton in the old Ritz Camera storefront. When we were in Evanston we needed a quick meal and this was a fine opportunity to check out a new joint. The interior is filled with sacks of locally-sourced potatoes. Feel good about that -- my fries were from Idaho! And the meats are local, too. Excellent feel-good on that. This streamlined approach to food service is simple: excellent, fresh burgers. And that's about it. When you get to ordering it's that same simplicity that gets yolu closer to your cow: order one of a few options, fries and away you go. Everything's made to order, fresh. I thought about this: you can dedicate more space to serving than storing. And that makes more sense. No need for giant, temperature controlled fridges. Just what you need. That makes it's way to your pocketbook: $12 for two burgers, a large fry to share and two medium sodas. It was also the messiest burgers I've had in ages. Terrific! Will definitely consider this an option for fast-food in the city.
(4)Sandra W.
Yay! I'm a fan. This is surprisingly my FIRST time to eat here. There is a place in Evanston called Edzo's that is comparable to Five Guys. I can't really tell the difference between the two places as far as burgers go, but the fries at Edzo's are better. Five Guys is good, too. I'd definitely go back. It's just that Edzo's closes pretty early and I have no idea what time that is. Also, Five Guys is located at a much more convenient spot. Though Edzo's serves more than just burgers. If you go with one other person, I think a Reg size fries (they come in cups) is enough to split between two people especially if you get a burger, too, or if you like fries THAT much. They have peanuts here.

Good, but not In-N-Out. I went to Five Guys when a friend and I couldn't decide where to go. Having ordered a double cheeseburger and cajun fries (which came out to over $10 without a drink!!! wow) I was excited given all the hype this place had gotten amongst my friends. While I will say the burger was pretty good, and the fries delicious, it simply didn't seem worth the time (waiting for the burger), the effort (it was a MESS), or the sheer dollar value of the order. I enjoyed my time here, and I'd go again if friends want to, but this makes me want to get around to trying Edzo's that much more. Having spent the summer out on the west coast idolizing In N Out, this does not even compare. In N Out is much more flavorful, affordable, and convenient. Those who will say otherwise are simply wrong- there is no way you can convince me otherwise.
