Better than P. F. Changs but then again that is not saying much...we stopped by there to grab a quick bite around 8pm last week and they were closing the place down. The Asian salad that I had was quite good, my co-worker said that his food was pretty poor.

My friends and I went here to celebrate a birthday dinner. None of us had been there before and didn't know what to expect. I'm hoping they were short staffed, if not the services was TERRIBLE for a Saturday night. There were a total of three people working the floor. Two waiters and the host/manager. We were seated and then left alone for a half hour. I had to get up and find the host to tell him we had not had a server come by yet. He was very apologetic and we got our waiter quickly after that. This could have been forgiven if the food was great. I ordered the Thai red curry. I think they might have forgotten to add the spice. The menu listed it as spicy but it was the blandest curry I've ever had. I was expecting a kick and got none. I'm not planning on going back to this location, but I might try the one in Wheaton to see if they have better service. `

Weak drinks and average food make this an unimpressive stop for a meal. Went in on a Saturday night for a 6:30 reservation; ended up waiting until 6:50 to see a waiter, and the night progressed similarly from there, with everything taking much too long and having to flag down people for assistance in everything from getting silverware to getting the check.

meh. this place just does not do it for me, even after two chances. food presentation is generally nice, but lacks a certain 'je nais se quoi' as far as taste is concerned.

We come to the Elmhurst location once a month or so. The tuna poke appetizer is fantastic, and my little one likes the fried rice. The sushi is pretty good, portions are good as well. Some of the entrées can be hit or miss, no consistency there. Service is always good, which keeps us coming back

Ordered in last night, not all that great, got a side of rice, it came in a thimble ;) Egg roles were good, penang curry was blah, Schzewan Noodles were so-so. Won't be going back, the food may taste better when you eat in. Was disappointed with curry it just was so bland for a curry!

My favorite place in Elmhurst. Good food and friendly staff. Vegetarian options available. Some favorites: Seared Ahi Tuna and Sesame Chicken. Many good dishes to pick from.

Loved the food and great service! Had heard Wok 'n Fire was really good and someone I knew had been to the new one in St. Charles and said the decor and atmosphere was really great. So, decided to try the Elmhurst location, as it was closer to me. Was expecting a big restaurant and found it to be kind of a little hole in the wall. Much smaller than I'd expected, and atmosphere was just OK. However, we had the most wonderful food and the service was great. We had a couple of their rolls to start off, and some cocktails, all excellent. I'm kind of a sushi snob, and I really liked theirs. For the main course, I ordered a salmon dish and my companion ordered the scallop dish. Both delicious! I'm still craving the scallop dish that had the perfect level of spice/heat and a wonderful taste and presentation. There were many other dishes on the menu that looked good, was hard to decide. Definitely going back to try them.

I had a group so the boyfriend and I went for dinner here. Nice atmosphere and not very busy on a Sunday night. He ordered two different rolls and said they were both very good. I had the orange peel chicken - the sauce was great, a little spicy and did not have an overly orange flavor. We also had the banana dessert - delicious. Big enough for two people to share! Without the groupon, it may have been a bit pricey but it's about the same as the pricing at PF Chang's.

I would like to start by saying I hate to give a bad review as I am sure that everyone was trying their hardest to make an obviously difficult night work, however the service was terrible. They were packed when we arrive so we had to wait a bit for our table to be set which was fine. Our whole party was not there yet, but the majority of us were so we asked to be seated so we could order a drink and some apps. We were seated, and then that was it. No server came over at all. After about 20 mins I approached the manager/ host and asked if could send someone over. The server made his way over and we ordered some cocktails. After rest of our party arrived they order drinks and we ordered appetizers. About half of our party ordered hot sake. They arrived cold. One of the men in group asked if his could be heated up as he wanted a hot drink. The server replied 'c'mon is this really that big of a deal? I have 5 tables right now. Obviously I am really busy.' Clearly the request was not life threatening, but when you order something you want what you ordered. We had eaten all of our appetizers by the time he came back to take our dinner order, so he did clear away all the plates which was nice. It took an hour to get our meal (and almost as long to order our second round of cocktails) and everyone who ordered hot food, got a cold congealed dish. The flavor was good and the presentation was ok, but literally 6 people had hot meals that were cooler than room temp. The food had obviously been sitting on a counter somewhere for quite some time. The sushi was also room temp, pour guess was that they prepared the hot meals first and then sushi but forgot to turn the lamp on. Any of this could have been at any time mediated by the manager, but he was running around acting as the host/expo. We asked for our check as soon as we could grab our waiter and paid. The restaurant was chosen by the b-day girl because we had all been to the St. Charles location and enjoyed it, but I think trip kind of tainted that. I would not go back to this location again.

Wok N Fire is a restaurant I put on my rotation quite often. It has always had very good food and has been one of my favorite local eateries. But lately, I feel that the Elmhurst location has turned into the under loved step child the owner ignores as he goes off to build a new family of restaurants in other locations. As a result the food and especially the service have suffered. Last night WnF was my choice for my Saturday date night. Thinking that it might be extra busy because of a recent Groupon offer of which I bought two, I called the restaurant at 4:30 to make a 6:30 reservation. No problem...2 at 6:30. When I arrived, the place was hopping with diners eating, potential diners waiting in line to be greeted, and a restaurant obviously understaffed and under equipped to handle the level of experience needed to make this crowded and chaotic dining event seem seamless. When the manager finally greeted me, I told him about the reservation and he stepped back from his podium and looked around the restaurant and said, "Somebody must not have been paying attention and forgot to hold your table. It should be about ten minutes." He was sorry and I was thinking about that Seinfeld episode, when Jerry is at the car rental place and he says to the lady at the counter, "So you know how to take a reservation, but you don't know how to hold a reservation." So, I am a bit annoyed, but what is one to do? OK ten minutes pass, we are seated, and we wait to be acknowledged by a waiter. I noticed they have two servers and one manager/server helper to take care of all of these tables on a Saturday night. When our waiter comes, I ordered the appetizer and the waiter says, let me put that order in and be right back. I said, "No way; I will order the entire meal now." Who knows when we would see the waiter again? So after a discussion with the waiter, I ordered Lard Nar with chicken and asked him to add to the broccoli, carrots and water chestnuts. He says to me, "I know we don't have water chestnuts. We ran out yesterday." Are you kidding me, I am thinking, before you opened today, somebody should have crossed the street to the supermarket and bought some water chestnuts. What is a Pan Asian place without water chestnuts? OK whatever. Then the waiter recommended how the preparation for my husband's tilapia should be served and my husband said that sounded fine. The food was attractively presented to us and the waiter rushed off. We noticed that the waiter's serving recommendation was ignored on my husband's dish, and that my choice had a little less sauce that usual in the lard nar, in fact it was somewhat dry. Since our waiter had not checked in with us since serving the food, I flagged the next worker who came near us to ask if he could bring to our table the hot sauce condiments that should have been a given; to find out where the sauce on the side was for my husband's dish only to find out that the chef didn't prepare it like the waiter had asked; to request a glass of water; and due to the volume of people coming into and going from the restaurant last night, I asked if they could shut an internal door that buffered the entry of cold air in their foyer that was for whatever reason open to the outside door and thus created a draft for those diners, like myself, who were seated in the front half of the restaurant. The food was tasteful enough, and our server was pleasant enough, but the chaos of the place made this a stressful dining experience. It was definitely time to leave and motioned for the check. The waiter brings an invoice and a pen. And we never saw him again. We waited and waited until we finally placed the Groupon certificate and the additional money on the table and left. Moral of this story: Owner of Wok N Fire take notice!

I'm always on the lookout for places that serve sushi PLUS other dishes, since my boyfriend doesn't eat sushi. This is a good place for non-sushi eaters, since they offer many Chinese and Thai dishes. Their sushi is also quite good. They also have a large bar area if you just want drinks.

I'm addicted to the grilled tuna wasabi salad, which is too bad because I like everything else there I've tried so I always have a dileema when it comes time to order. I've been going here regularly for several years and always wonder their secret for the excellent service - great hiring? great training? both? There has been so-so servers on occasion, but in general they are gracious, attentive, relaxed and HAPPY! I could eat here all the time!

We went here with a groupon at 7pm on a Sunday. The place had a lot of families eating there which isn't a bad thing, but it did get really loud with discussions of coloring and "he stole my french fries." Could have just been the time of day. The waiter was very nice, and didn't give us the typical waiter BS where they pretend to care about small talk, NO, our waiter was genuinely interested in what brought us in and how we were doing. We ordered the tempura shrimp for an appetizer, very tasty with a smokey bacon type dipping sauce that was delicious. I had Szechwan chicken wok entree and it was exactly what I expected. Spicy enough with lots of fresh ingredients, a large bowl which was enough for me but a normal person is probably taking some home. The wait time for food was a little long, but the place doesn't have much seating so their staff is pretty lean. The decor was very unique and had my eyes wandering. It is right off York across from the Chipotle so fill up and then go relax on the benches across the street to digest your food. :)

so how do i go about this review.... well lets first start with that ihave been went to their addison location a long time ago and i thought, lets try their original store. first off its a bit smaller than the addison store but that didnt shock me being their first store so thats cool. they had a 3 table patio when i walked up that was all sat so my hopes of sitting out there were spoiled, but whatever....i just really want food anyways. so i walked in and was promptly greeted by their host who had great charisma and sat me and my friend right away. i didnt catch his name but he is definitely an asset to that business! My server came to our table, forgot his name but he had an awesome beard, and made some of his own drink suggestions my friend ordered the lacrema chardonnay and i took him up on a drink he has been working on a southern peach tea. the restaurant was beyond capacity at this point and from what i could tell there were only two servers and they ran like a well oiled machine i must add, i was more shocked that it was a wedseday night and they were this busy. our drinks came and he was nice enough to bring waters without us having to ask....i kinda forgot...but the drink he made for me should totally be on their list btw nice, smooth, and something different for a change! he then asked us if we would like to try an app he suggested the tuna poke because it was a nice light app and it was perfect on hot days like the day it was.....i believe we were in the upper 90s...then we told him we would order when that came out. about 3 or four mins went by and the host swung over with the tuna poke asked if we needed anything else and right as he walked away our server popped over and took our order. my friend got the seared ahi tuna salad and i ordered the pad thai with scallops since i have never seen that anywhere else. we delved into this awesome looking app that was these three round wontons that had sushi grade tuna diced with onion over a avocado paste with sesame seeds and scallions topping, then drizzled across was a lime sauce and this dark sauce that was spicy kind of in the sense of sirathcha. and they were addictive! i was tempted to get more but the server was right nice and light....and sadly that just rhymed...anyways...our food came out at a reasonable time....13-15 mins and presentation was beautiful. the server asked if we would like chopsticks or chilipaste and i took him up on the chili paste after the spice of the poke. my friend looooved her salad saying that it was cooked perfectly and their seasoning had a great flavor, wasabi vinaigrette dressing was nice and light and fit the salad perfectly. my dish the pad thai with scallops was probably the best pad thai i have ever experienced and that was before i mixed and of the chili paste in! the scallops were a good size and there was plenty in there, the flavor was more than amazing! then tossing in the sauce gave it a bit of sweet and spice which probably was the best idea ever. please note that their portions are a little big but the way i see it even if i dont finish something i will probably eat it at 4 in the morning...but annnnyways. we both ended up finishing our meals because it was just that good. the server who now looking back kind of looked like john belushi with a beard, im just calling him john now....so john came back and asked if we were interested in desert and we told him were possibly in a food coma and we could not eat another bite. he laughed and said how about liquid desert maybe a sake bomb...we totally took him up on it. he brought the sake bombs with the check payment was prompt. it was some of the best service i have ever had and most likely one of the best experiences i have had in a restaurant. now i wanted to put this in the end because i didnt want it to overshadow the experience i had. i have been to the addison store before and the decor there is way nicer than elmhursts i actually asked belushi why they dont fix the place up and he told me they will be remodeling this store soon....lets hope so because the only thing that store needs is a face-lift. it looks old, mainly the walls look like they were chipped badly from over time.. what i am getting at is that i own a design firm and i meet up with clients a lot in dinners and i would love to bring them here if they would spruce this place up a bit. i know the experience would be there but as a designer i would like to bring my clients to a place that had a trendy feel...not something as roughed up as wok...im torn on my choice still....i may still bring them there because just typing this made me want those poke.... but this should be 5 starts but will be 4 until they re-model it.

I've felt bad that I've had mostly negative posts of late. I swear I'm not a complete crabass!! So I waited to post until I found something I really liked. Wok'n Fire is a great place to grab lunch. The food was terrific. We walked in here not knowing what to expect. After being disappointed with "The Standard" down the street, we were hoping to not have to abandon Elmhurst restaurants altogether. Wok'n Fire has lunch specials that are all under $10 (big portions), and all would be $30 plates at least if you were in the city. The service was attentive but not overbearing, and the atmosphere was a serene, dimly lit, well decorated environment. Sure we were starving when we walked in, but this place can stand on it's own. They have this HUGE Buddha head on the bar when you walk in. As we sat waiting for our food, I strategized how I might be able to grab it and run out the door. It will be mine!! BONZAI!!

Not sure what has changed here.. Perhaps the cook!.. Food is kinda.. mediocre now.. What a shame.. Although.. Don't fret!.. There is a Wok 'n Fire in Addison on Lake street that is on par!

Another thumbs up for this creative, stylish and delicious restaurant. Whether for lunch or dinner, the portions are just right, the service seems effortless and the menu is varied. Another bonus is that it's a "no stress" eatery --- parking garage is just around the corner, the lighting/decor is soothing and the staff never makes you feel as if you need to eat and run. There's a movie house, an upscale bowling/billiards spot, a lounge and two coffee shops nearby if you want to extend your evening and never move the car!

Cute little Pan-asian restaurant in downtown Elmhurst. They've got great ahi tuna, as mentioned already, and their lettuce wraps are quite good as well. I always get their Seafood Primavera, which is a stir fry of several seafoods (scallops, shrimp, calamari) with vegetables in a delicious light sauce. My only issue with this restaurant is that it is fairly small, and they do not have a bar or waiting area; otherwise it's a great place to catch dinner before a movie. They also have another larger location, recently built in Addison, near Route 53; I have not yet been there, but I'm told it's got the same great food, nice modern environment, and a sizable bar and waiting area to have drinks with friends. They also offer sushi at this location, but people have said their sushi is passable.

This is a really great little restaurant. I had the best ahi tuna of my life here once! I also love the ahi tuna salad with wasabi dressing. It's a nice casual atmosphere, not too expensive, and usually not overly crowded.

I love this restaurant. I ate there on their opening night, and the food has been terrific since that very first time. They catered our wedding: WOW. The food was every bit as fresh and tasty as it is in the restaurant, and the servers were awesome. The curries are to die for.

Well no restaurant is perfect. The atmosphere is interesting to say the least. The paintings are pretty odd, but also entertaining. The place seems like it's trying to be ultra hip. The pad thai was good, but the dumplings I felt were a waste of time. I mean 5 tiny dumplings for like 7 or 8 bucks whatever it was. I know how much dumplings cost and that's highway robbery. They weren't all that great either...they could have easily been frozen. The service wasn't the best. The kid that was our first waiter didn't crack a smile and acted all smug the first few times he dealt with us. Then the hostess and another waitress who were both very nice took over. I checked at the end to see who I was tipping and it was the guy I saw like twice at the very beginning of the meal. So I didn't like that very much. I understand the restaurant is busy, but you need to have time to if not bring out your parties food at least ask them how it is. Overall, the stir fry's were pretty good if you want to take a chance on the service try this place! I'd say just get take out as there's a menu online.

came for a quick bite during lunch so thank god the service was quick. I thought it was a bit pricey so I settled for the sushi sampler I think it was called. it came with 3 pieces of spicy tuna roll and 3 pieces of California roll. they were both good. as for the nigiri, I loved the salmon nigiri. it melted right in my mouth. the tuna and shrimp Nigiri was not bad but not as good or fresh as the salmon.

Visited their downtown Elmhurst location for Happy Hour with a friend. We sat in the high top table near the windows. The staff was extremely friendly, and hospitable. I've never experience such exceptional service while having sushi. I cannot get over how engaging the servers were. Kudos Wok' n Fire! We had several of their 1/2 priced cocktail martini's which run on the sweeter end. (mango/apple/cucumber) Sushi was tasty probably 3/5, but I've had better. A few of our rolls were falling apart. We sampled the Inky, Dragon and Tiger. Since it's so close to my work place, I will definitely be coming back soon. Plus, I love the staff :)

Service with a smile is one of the great things about this location! TJ couldn't have been any more helpful and hospitable than he was. For a chain, this locale feels anything but one. Lots of kitchy style that felt very Bangkok-ish, which is nice. We split the fresh garlic spinach, the 5 spice BBQ ribs entree and teriyaki chicken. Each came with tasty rice - fried and brown. The ribs had a delicious Asian slaw and onion rings which were yummy, while the chicken came with tasty wok vegetables. There was a generous amount of food, but not a ridiculous amount, which made for tasty leftovers. We also had the machi dessert which were 3 ice creams wrapped in rice, fried (maybe), with a fruit sauce on top, or chocolate. The strawberry was the best, the mango pretty spectacular, while the chocolate was most common, but very tasty nonetheless! An enjoyable meal and experience all around!!!!

Nice little place to grab some sushi. I cannot give it 5 stars as I feel their food is just average. The service was good, but the sushi was just ok. Probably would not return anytime soon for sushi but may stop in for something else with a friend

This place was great for a group! We had my sisters bday her and the waiter was great! Severs were all great we were able to ask anyone and they were quick to serve everything. Food was fantastic. Shanghai noodles were awesome not too spicy but had a little kick. Tj was great brough everyone out in a timely manner and was always making sure we had drinks full and we doing okay! Great place would recommend it!

These guys are Wok'n On A Thin Line! Not really, but I heard Huey Lewis & The News' song of a similar name while eating lunch here, and I thought to myself "walkin on a thiiiiin line.....wok'n' on a......ohhhh that's PERFECT. Gotta use that in my review." Speaking of perfect, that's precisely what my lunch was. Fast, flavorful, and a freakishly good deal. $7.95 for the sushi roll lunch (4 california, 4 spicy tuna) that came with soup or salad. I opted for the egg drop soup, which was great. The tea here isn't complimentary, but they offer black or green, and it comes in an adorable cast iron pot. The hot black tea was steeped properly and had an excellent aroma. Service was speedy and polite, and the food came out much quicker than expected. Although the Elmhurst W'n'F isn't even a fraction as cool as the Burr Ridge locale, lunch was a very pleasant dining experience, and I will certainly return. To sweeten the deal, the receipt offers 10% off your next check--which has to be used on a weekday within the next 7 days--as well as a punchcard for a free lunch entree after 7 punches. Very happy to see improvements after fellow trusted Elites Osiris V and Brett D totally blasted this Wok'n'Fire some years back. I had no such tribulations on this visit, nor do I foresee any in the future. Keep up the great work!

I would definitely return to Wok n' Fire. I haven't been here for close to twenty years, that's probably when it opened. I guess that's irrelevant, other than the fact that it's been here for so many years. That means that someone likes it. I guess I'd consider myself in that category now. I ordered the Szechwan stir fry. Next time I would order it with no, or easy, oil. Also, I think the second ingredient was broccoli. I expected more than two small pieces. But, the flavor was good. The restaurant is very comfortable. The staff is very friendly and they have reading glasses if you forget yours. However, in terms of price, it was bit on the high side. I would give them four stars, but my meal, including one drink and tip, was $28. I can feed the whole family from Emperor's kitchen for less than that. As of this writing there are ninety-six restaurants in Elmhurst. I plan on eating at, and reviewing, every one. Follow me on Yelp!

Not gonna lie Wok 'n Fire is a guilty pleasure that must be sampled if you're in or around the western suburbs. I met an old friend at the Elmhurst location for dinner last night and had a really, really pleasant dining experience. We opted to sit in the bar to take advantage of their awesome happy hour specials (1/2 of appetizers and select sushi rolls). We started out with the Crab Rangoon and Coconut Shrimp. The Crab Rangoon was some of the best I had and I love the sauce that came with the Coconut Shrimp. It's also worth noting that despite half off appetizers they don't skimp on the portions and the appetizers are definitely enough to share. For my entree I went with my ultimate guilty pleasure, the Calamari Caesar. I literally have a problem where I cannot not order this dish if it's on a menu at a restaurant and I have to say Wok 'n Fire's take on this dish was outstanding. The salad is quite large, comes with a ton of calamari and is complemented by a hefty sprinkling of paprika on top, won ton strips, and an Asian inspired take on Caesar dressing. Despite having filled up on appetizers I could not help but go to town on this salad. In addition to a great meal we also had a friendly, funny server who took great care of us and kept us laughing with each of his visits to our table. Definitely the icing on the cake of a great meal - I hope to be back soon.

Love the happy hour, 50% off all appetizers and Maki Rolls in the bar area at 9pm. $4 Apple Martinis, woo! Fresh sushi, great tasting food, extremely friendly staff, clean restaurant, nicely decorated. Fri and Sat nights closing time is 10p, when other locations are open until 11p.. Elmhurst location only has one "happy hour" on these nights. Only downside.. Although, there's always specials, after work or on Sundays

I just bought another Groupon for this place. Yes I max out the allowable amount to purchase through Groupon every single time it's available. Don't get me wrong, I have eaten at this restaurant many a time without a discount but I find I can go more often if I just get the Groupon. I have made many a friend addicted to this place and I intend to pass it on to many more. The sushi is great but if you don't like sushi I recommend the Hong Kong dishes, steak or scallops are my favs......they are spicy..... And delicious. The staff is also nice attentive and make you feel welcome. I never drink alcohol when I come here, instead I opt for the ginger ale...... It will change your life.

A tad pricey, but their Sushi is great! Has a Sushi Sampler, terriyaki chicken, and some edamame Service was good, food was good, just a tad disappointed about the price compared to other joints. That being said, you can park, have dinner, see a movie, and have a drink all in DT Elmhurst, so the convenience is awesome

An awesome addition to downtown Elmhurst. Great food and great service. We ordered a cooked maki and egg rolls for appetizers. They were excellent, especially the maki, which had a little "kick" to it. Our waiter was TJ, and he was extremely knowledgeable about sushi and was able to patiently explain the menu to my dinner companion, who had a lot of questions about sushi. I ordered panang Thai curry with chicken. It was excellent. Often Thai restaurants prepare this meal with mushrooms and huge chunks of green pepper that are usually inedible. This had large pieces of chicken, basil and slivers of red pepper. My only disappointment was there was a lot of liquid in the bowl, and there wasn't enough rice brought with the entrée to absorb the wonderful flavor of the sauce. I felt it was wasted. But my dinner companion had seared sea bass with rice and asparagus that he said was among the best sea bass he's had. Again, the staff was very friendly and accommodating: we were initially seated outside; however, the temperature dropped and TJ was able to move us inside, which we appreciated. I'll DEFINITELY be back.

I've been to other Wok 'n fire's but this one is definitely my favorite. The food is delicious, and the service is awesome. My husband and I walked in about 45 min until closed on Christmas Eve and they were very slow. To my surprise, the waitress was so inviting and warming! We usually encounter waitresses that are just flat out rude but the wait staff here is great! This place isn't as big as others I have been to but definitely cozy and romantic.

I was excited to try this place as we have often passed by and it has smelled good. It is a friendly welcoming environment. The prices were a tad high but not unreasonable. Around $15 per entree on average. We ordered some crab Rangoon which was really good. The spicy Shanghai is pretty good. The noodles are a little bland but overall it's a good dish. The shrimp noodle (can't remember the exact name) was ok. The menu didn't really explain that the noodles were a chow mein type which I don't imagine is a very popular noodle. After we received our entrees we were forgotten. We requested napkins at one point but didn't get them until we were finished eating. The waitress kept disappearing and there were a few waiters just standing around most of the time avoiding customers. Even considering all of that I was going to leave a standard tip. We waited for a considerable amount of time before I finally crossed out my tip and approached another waiter about the leftovers we had been waiting on. I don't usually leave nothing but the service was just beyond ridiculous and if I am at a nice restaurant paying nice restaurant prices I expect at least a water refill or at the very least the napkins I requested 20 minutes prior. I will not be returning.

Finally got to try this place out since we had a groupon and it was amazing! Our waitress Kendra was great. Knowing that it was our first time eating there, she made us feel extra special and gave us the banana fritter on the house! The food was delicious! Got the lunch special szchewan steak with brown rice and my mom got the lunch special Mongolian scallops. The scallops were probably the best I've tasted in a while and they give a good amount! My mom was shocked that they actually gave more than three pieces like how other restaurants are! Definitely will be going back!

A came here for the first time and I have to say it's my favorite Restaraunt now! Lol. We ordered two appetizers. Something called the Avocado crab ball, which was insanely good, and we also got some sushi, which was also really good. The Mandarin steak was delicious, and it was a really big proportion. My girlfriend got some pho which wasn't the best, but she liked it. Overall I have a feeling the anything you get here is going to be good. I would recommend this to anyone looking for some great Asian food.I think the best part of out experience was the service, everyone was friendly and happy to help.

Great restaurant! Gone there for the sushi happy hour met with great service and better than great sushi. Best restaurant in town also had the governors stir fry on a separate occasion and it was very good. The only issue was I now have to decide on whether or not to get sushi or stir fry every time. My favorite restaurant in Elmhurst and I highly recommend it and especially the St.Charles roll.

I live a couple blocks away from Wok N Fire, and eat here at least once a month. My fiancé and I love coming here for date night. I usually get sushi, and it is always very tasty and plated beautifully. I recommend the homemade ginger ale, I get it every time. I gave Wok N Fire 4 stars for two reasons. The price and the service. About the service - the servers are all very pleasant, the problem is how SLOW the service is. It is very disappointing. As a former server myself, it especially bothers me how long it takes the servers to greet the table. Fortunately, the food is so fantastic that I keep coming back! Last winter I overheard an employee saying that they were looking into renting a larger space - I hope that this is true (and that it will still be in walking distance for me) !!

Staff is friendly, but a bit overly friendly lol. Some kind of take it to the point where you're like "thanks for the specials... Now... Go away please" annoying but attentive. sushi is great, drinks are awesome, but a bit pricey.

My husband and I both love this restaurant! It's got sushi for me and regular food for him. He usually gets the Korean bbq steak. It comes with kimchi rice that he adores. He's a picky eater so it's hard to find a place we're both happy. The staff is really nice, informative and helpful. The banana desert is really really good! They are accommodating of specific requests. No complaints!

Pretty disappointing...I left confused as to how they can justify their prices when the food was just okay...we ordered a bunch of nigiri and the pieces were small compared to the price point...the Miso soup was cold and void of flavor...service was slow. As we walked in we saw two open tables but the hostess refused to seat us as they were waiting for reservations that were already 15 minutes late...while we waited and the tables stayed empty they declined seating three other parties that walked in after us...these parties promptly walked out...finally...they decided the reservations we no shows, and sat us but not before they lost 5 parties...the two reservations and the three walk ins all the while empty tables were available! Seemed like one of those places that has gotten two comfortable and stopped trying to impress. Don't see myself going back.

I've lived here in Elmhurst as long as this restaurant has been in existence and can count my visits on one hand - and I don't know why! We stopped in Saturday night after a movie and my husband and I practically melted in our seats with pleasure. The food was delicious and flavorful. The waitress was a gem and the service was great. I don't look at prices so I can't speak to some of the comments regarding their prices. All I know is that I cannot wait to go back, or carry out, or whatever I need to do to get their food again. This will now be our "go to" restaurant for Asian food.

My husband and I got the crispy crunchy maki roll, tunagi maki roll and the Philadelphia roll. The crispy crunchy roll was amazing. Tunagi was good too. My husband had the Philadelphia. He said it was just ok. The fish had too much of a raw texture for him but to each his own. Service was good even though it was busy. The manager offered us a free roll since they made an extra one which we had to turn down since we were so full. Sucks cause that never happens to us!

Happy hour.. Half off sushi and apps.... Done and done lol if it's not happy hour they always have a groupon out! T.J. The waiter is THE best! He's amazing! The sushi is great, it's fresh and looks awesome. This place is my go to when I get a sushi craving. The owner, Siri, is really nice too. I can't say enough good things. I'm here at least once a week either by myself, date night, or girls night. I love it!

Dined there on a Friday evening, around 7:45 pm. Although busy, we were greeted kindly and seated very promptly. The server was polite, answered questions about the menu offerings, and checked up on us just the right amount of times - not too frequently to be annoying and not too little as to be needing something and waiting. The ambiance and atmosphere was buzzing and lively, and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. The food was delicious, and the portion sizes were extremely generous. Unfortunately, we didn't have any room for dessert, but I'd definitely dine there again. It's ideal for a date night or a girl's night out!

Excellent sushi. I tried this place because of a Groupon. Glad I did. Service is friendly and although they were busy I didn't feel neglected. Many sushi choices as well as a good hot food selection made it a hit with me. I had an excellent drink called lights over tokyo.

Oh, no. I drive by a couple of their locations regularly so when I saw them come up on Groupon I thought I'd give them a try. Never again. First, the service on a Friday night at 6 p.m. sucked. We were there early enough to, unfortunately, be a part of the families-with-younger-children dining crowd. It was busy & it seemed they had enough servers to handle it but the service was slow & poor. Because the service was slow we were there loooong enough for the families-with-younger-children dining crowd to leave and the place was not very busy at all...yet the service continued to suck. We were seated about 5 minutes before a couple next to us was & had the exact same server. Yet somehow their drinks & and appetizer came out BEFORE we had even received our drinks (non-alcoholic, even!). The same server hadn't even gotten around to asking us if we wanted to eat anything, yet. When she finally asked us if we were ready to order (Yes, please! We'd closed our menus ages ago!) we already had an appetizer & our entrees picked out. We don't usually order them all at the same time but given how slow the service had been we felt it best to just get it all out of the way when we were finally graced by our servers presence again. Yet, as soon as I said "We'd like to start with the Crispy Crunchy Roll" she immediately said "Okay" as she was already turning around to leave. No asking if we were ready to order our entrees as well or anything. Okay, I guess we'll wait to to order our entrees. If it weren't for the Groupon we would have left long before entrees came to mind. The roll was delivered by another member of the wait staff, so no opportunity to order our entrees there. The roll was tasty but was supposed to come with a mango sauce. There were two small dollops of the sauce, about nickel-sized each, on the plate, the roll itself was drizzled with a sriracha sauce. The menu description made no mention of the sriracha sauce for that particular roll, just the mango, but it still tasted fine. Once we had eaten the entire roll our server finally came back & asked if we wanted to order dessert or just get the check. As much as we wanted to leave at this point we had that Groupon to use up, so we told her no, we actually did want to order dinner. She brought our meals back in under 5 minutes, which was surprising. My meal, the Chap Chae with Tofu was pretty good - tons of veggies cooked perfectly, lots of noodles & a tasty sauce. Hubby's meal, however, was not good at all. He only ate half of it and when he said he wouldn't be taking leftovers home I knew something was wrong. He ordered the Governor's dish with Chicken. First I tried the crispy chicken & it actually tasted like a McDonald's "all white meat premium chicken nugget." Not bad but not what I was expecting. Okay, now to try the veggies & sauce that came with it & I kid you not, it somehow tasted like the overall flavor of a McDonald's Quarter Pounder! It was bizarre! Again, not that there is anything wrong with a Quarter Pounder, but not sure how the heck they managed to make the Governor's sauce taste like that! Our server did check on us a few times while we ate the entree & each time she asked "Is everything okay?" but before we could finish nodding our head's yes or starting to say we're fine she was already turning around saying "Good" as she sprinted away. We weren't going to bother pointing out my husband's displeasure with his meal, we just wanted to get the hell out of there at this point. Needless to say we will not ever be going back. I'm not even willing to give any of their other locations a try.

I love that this place is so close to home and tastes great. Service is pretty good, but food and drinks always seem to be good for me. For drinks we had: White truffle: three olives vanilla vodka, Frangelico, Kaluha, Thai coffee, with a float of Godiva chocolate liqueur-this was absolutely fantastic. I had noodles for my dinner and it was perfect. I KNOW I will be going back!

It may be the fact that it's close to my work, but I stumbled into this joint with a coworker/friend of mine once and we've loved it ever since. We almost always get the thai curry noodles. Not that we don't enjoy all the other dishes we've had here, that one just happens to be our favorite. It can be as mild or as spicy as you like, but be forewarned: I ordered it a bit spicy and my eyes nearly popped out of my head.

I Agree with Brett D. I also stopped in for one of my lunch escapades and was thoroughly disappointed. It was a Friday afternoon and when we walked in the place had top 4 tables full. They sat us and I thought, ok so far so good, well that would be the last time I thought that. After about a 15 min wait we ordered some drinks and lettuce wraps from the hostess. Then the waitress came and we gave her our order. 15 minutes later we got our food from our hostess, had to ask for refills and finally started eating. The food wasn't bad but I am pretty sure I also got a little bug of some sort, my tummy was not happy. The meat wasn't fantastic per say. We also had to keep asking for refills. After we were done eating the Hostess came and cleaned up. We waited about 20 more minutes to get the attention of the waitress so we could get our bill. Instead we got the attention of the HOSTESS again. Needless to say, 50 minutes of waiting around isn't what I am looking for when I'm at an hour lunch. They just need a better wait staff or maybe more than one would help. Maybe I went in on the wrong day since so many people gave it good reviews. But a restaurant should be giving 100% no matter what day of the week it is.

A gem of a place located very conveniently in the heart of Elmhurst. Parking is off the road or in a nearby open garage. The place is nicely decorated with modern Asian theme and includes a window to see the flaming food being cooked! This place has been a regular for my family. The food is second to none with great portion size and the staff are absolutely friendly and amazing...always going out of their way to make you comfortable...The cuisine include everything from sushi to Chinese and Thai delights. Everything from the freshly made Shrimp spring rolls to the Tilapia with fresh Asian greens, the crispy lard-nar noodles with chicken to the Thai curry dishes are a delight! The banana wonton with ice-cream dessert is like to die for. They are family friendly and have some early dine in specials with the sushi. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

Yum yum and yum. My friend and I had a late lunch here the other day and had a great experience. Our waiter (TJ) was extremely helpful (I love peanut sauce) to help me find the perfect dish and sauce. I tried the Pad Thai, which needed nothing because it was delicious. The peanut sauce he recommended was absolutely amazing. The best peanut sauce I've ever had was in Costa Rica at this was a close comparison. What I really loved was the half price appetizers and half price drinks during happy hour. Their prices are very reasonable to begin with and that made it that much better. Again, the wait staff is really sweet. I highly recommend this place for lunch and dinner. Oh and try to crab rangoon, more yum there too. Half price sushi too, you really can't go wrong here!

Dinner 8PM, weeknight The good: + Friendly hostess + We were seated right away + Nice ambiance. Think PF Chang's. Clean. + Nice lounge area (albeit small) and nice dining area + Our waiter was friendly, took our order after giving us ample time to peruse the menu, and checked on us while we were eating. PERFECT SERVICE! + I observed other waiters around us and they were really super nice, friendly, and willing to give suggestions to patrons who did not know what to order. Once again, BIG KUDOS TO THE WAIT STAFF. + They have Wednesday nights "Girls' Night Out" specials + They have after 9PM food specials The bad: - Food was not memorable. Americanized Chinese and Americanized Japanese food. To quote JLo in one of her SNL skits: "This is white people food." This is where people who like to drink a lot go to pretend that they are also eating a meal along with their alcohol. You would need to be inebriated to think the food here is good. - Didn't know this was a chain restaurant. Like any chain restaurant (think PF Chang's, Stir Crazy, etc.), there is no passion to food preparation here. I saw the sushi chef casually slide the plate of sushi to the server like he didn't care about the food he just made. In most mom & pop Japanese restaurants we've been to (and we have been to a lot), sushi chefs prepare the food lovingly and treat it like a piece of art. Here, it's another food to assemble in the assembly line. The summary: Despite the great staff and nice ambiance, it eventually goes down to the food. Unfortunately, did not like it. If you're a drinker, maybe this place is for you but I won't be rarin' to go back.

Wok N Fire was a nice change from the normal monoculture food fare in Elmhurst. The Ahi Salad was good -would have preferred a chilled plate with chilled lettuce - both were on the warm side. The Wasabi dressing was delish as was the Ahi. The Chow Fun with Scallops was good though would have preferred a little less oil and no breading on the scallops. Now to the best part - our Waiter - Joe. First Class service and Genuine Good Man. His service made all the difference. Heidi the newer GM went out of her way to make us feel Welcome. The new outdoor seating was really nice in the evening. If Wok N Fire offered fresher ingredients with a bit lower prices I would give it 5 stars.

horrible...we used to go here all the time...now we have been going to the Wheaton location...the one in Elmhurst must precook all of their chicken and add it in after hte dish is done ALL of the chicken in the 4 dishes we ordered was INEDIBLE...this has happened a few other times...we keep giving them another chance NO MORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! horrible...DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING with CHICKEN

Somehow this place reminds of P.F.Chang. Americanized Asian food which tastes fine but lack of authentic flavor and overpriced. I have been quite a few times and tried a few different things. I have basically settled down with one dish -Seared Ahi Tuna Salad. I'm an Asian and usually only get salad from an American restaurant. So that speaks for something. The Ahi tuna always came out seared right. Not over cooked. Washabi vinaigrette dressing is light and mixed well with tuna. The whole dish is fresh and light and flavorful. Szechwan Tilapia is a nice dish. The fish is light breaded, very tender and comes with spinach (a little salty) and the choice of rice. Either too much soy sauce or salt, I just need the extra rice or water to balance the salty taste down a bit. Mongolian Steak was not a good choice. Too much meat for me. It was tough and comes with fried soybean noodles. Cashew crusted Tilapia was one of current specialties. A bad choice again. Deep fried fish with heavy brown sauce on the top. Very heavy salty taste. My server was fine and attentive. I have always liked their interior. I could go back with my friends who choose to go again. And I will stick with my salad choice.

We've eaten here several times. The food used to be much better. Our last order included the yakatori beef and the summer rolls. The beef was awful- dry, tough, and tasteless. We had to throw it out. As for the spring rolls, they were wrapped in dry, thick rice paper. This rice paper did not resemble the delicate paper-thin rice paper from other asian food restaurants. We will not be coming back here any time soon.

Great mix of Asian food. Very flavorful sushi. Friendly staff. I really like the homemade ginger ale with or without the vodka. Try the Pappa Roll or the Governors. Only critique I have is the way they prep their edamame which can be easily remedied by asking for no oil.

The boyfriend and I went here tonight to use up my groupon....since I'm notoriously bad at using them before the expiration date. It was delicious. We got there around 6:15-6:30 and had a 30 minute wait. It wasn't too bad, just hung out in the little corner by the entryway with a few other people picking up food. We got seated and our waiter got us waters immediately, which was great because we were really thirsty. We got the Spicy Maki Trio for an app, because we were hungry and wanted all the foods. All three Maki were delicious. My favorite was the crab salad one, the sauce was awesome. For our entree we split the Spicy Shanghai noodles with shrimp. It was fantastic. We ate it all. And our awesome waiter split the plate for us too. He was a really good waiter, kept our water filled and was funny and nice. We're looking forward to going back for happy hour, dinner, or with another groupon.

This asian fusion restaurant sports Japanese, Chinese, and Thai foods on the menu and has a nice selection of sushi choices. My meal started out with one of the best sashimi salads, the white tuna plate, that I have ever tried. 6 very large and thick pieces of Super White Tuna beautifully plated with yummy slices of avocado and radish. This was excellent. I would definitely come back here just for this. Then came the Mongolian Steak. Yuck!!! It came out on a bed of those fried white noodles that have no taste. The beef seemed a little tough in some parts and soft in other. Something not quite right with the texture. The worst part of the meal by far, though, was the sauce that sat unnapetizingly shining in all its corn-starchy glory ontop of my food. The taste was as nasty as it looked. There was a burned food flavor which combined with cloying sweetness and overpowering ginger taste made for a really bad experience. I sent this back and rather than taking my chances on another Chinese food, I decided to see if they could do better with Thai food. The Chicken Phad Thai was good, not sensational but enjoyable. If I did not get the nasty beef dish they would have scored 4 stars for the sensational Super White Tuna and average thai food. I noted that in previous ratings the service was rated low. I was there during a very busy period during Friday lunch in which all the tables were taken. My server was courteous and VERY attentive. Maybe they are paying attention to their ratings and trying to do better. I will go back here but will not try the beef in any form but especially not the mongolian concoction.

I absolutely LOVE this place, and can't understand why it doesn't have better reviews! But first: I work close to this Elmhurst location so my co-workers and I are always rollin about 20 deep for lunch. A few years ago they actually started turning us down because we had too many people all the time, even though we would always call ahead and reserve. That really put a damper on things and we all got pretty angry about the fact that they would turn down all our business because they couldn't handle our group of people. But now flash forward a few years later to now! I don't know when we started going back, but their policy definitely changed on us because they have no problems whatsoever serving our 20+ lunch groups. We always call ahead to order our food, and when we get there they have our tables set up for us already, and our food hot and ready to serve just moments later! There is one particular server that works there that I absolutely love. I will have to get his name next time so I can give him a shout out, but he is probably 95% there every time we go. He is just so fast with his service, always splits our checks without us even asking, and he is super nice! I will say though, there is one lady server we will get evey so often, and she is nothing like him - a nice lady, but she gets way too overwhelmed, and I know there are 20 of us normally, but I can guarantee you we are nowhere near high maintenance customers! Anyway, in addition to the top notch service, their food is absolutely amazing! I used to get a lot of the Asian dishes which are so delicious, but their sushi is just to die for!! I seriously love sushi, and I really think they are probably my favorite sushi place!! the fish is always fresh and they have so many different kinds. Now, they are a bit pricey, but it is totally worth it! oh and i had their sesame banana fritter for dessert once and all i can say is WOW I can't account for the other wok n' fire locations in the chicagoland area, but I do think you should try the one in Elmhurst - cant beat the great service and delicious food!

This place is hit or miss, and mostly misses. I work in the area and give Wok n Fire a try every few months, hoping it's gotten better than last time. The service is slow and the food is not as good as the prices charged. Today I picked up the Chinese Chicken Salad lunch special. I called in my order because I know they always take forever if you order in the restaurant. This was one of the top worst salads of my life! More than half the greens were wilted and rotting. The plum sauce also had a strong moldy flavor. I couldn't eat it and ended up going through the Taco Bell drive thru instead. Such a disappointing lunch experience. Especially because the online menu says it costs $7.95 and I ended up getting charged more than $11 for it. My other poor experiences have mostly dealt with overcooked tuna (like, really bad) or over sauced panang without all the ingredients listed on the menu. I reccomend you skip this place if you're looking for a tasty lunch.

I'm with all the other one stars. This place is ca ca. My boyfriends fried rice tasted like a wet dog. It was the most disgusting thing I've ever tasted. And the tuna poke? Eeeeeee, more like tuna choke. I can't believe this place is still in business.

We loved it here! Our server was friendly and fun, the green tea was good -- I recommend the pan-seared pot stickers, very tasty. The Szechwan Tilapia was delicious, and the Spicy Shanghai Noodles (with tofu for me) was excellent too. Those complaining in the reviews, on the wait for a table -- we got there a little after 4, and had a terrific experience -- maybe the point to take away is to get there early? Will definitely be back!

We have eaten here several times. When they first opened and recently. Lunch. Dinner. Carry out. The best comment I can give them is that they are inconsistent. I had a Groupon that was expiring ($30) for dine in only. W-n-F graciously allowed me to carry out. Wifey and I went with Shanghai noodles with shrimp. Fried rice with steak and Tom Yum Goong. The Thai soup was salty. The fried rice was a disaster. Very oily tasty. The steak bits were spongy and soft. Did not taste like meat at all. The noodles were okay. I have tried the Pho here in the past....it is not traditional Pho. A bland and sad version here. Really want and expect more from this place.

There aren't too many food options in downtown Elmhurst for vegans. But Wok N Fire is actually pretty good. It's basically a smaller version of P.F. Changs (dark lighting, waiters dressed in black, cloth napkins, etc.), but there are only two locations in the west suburbs of Chicago. Some of their dishes contain fish/oyster sauce, so make sure to ask. They're very accommodating about making dishes vegan here and the servers tend to know what's what.

Normally I am not a fan of chain places but this place was very good. My mom had the Pho and my boyfriend had the Pad See Ewe and it was great. I had the fresh ginger ale and it was amazing. I would definatly go back here and I do not usually frequent chain places!

I eat at this place at least once a week. I work down the street so it's my favorite lunch place. I cannot understand that one review because I looooove the tuna poke. My daughter lives in the city and when she visits this is her favorite restaurant. She will text me and tell me she is craving the tuna poke. I have never had a bad dish here. From the inky roll to the shrimp curry soup to the lar nar and spicy scallops. The worst part is trying to decide on which to order. Service is not always perfect but for this food I will live with it. I am not alone either because everyone chooses wok n fire for our birthday lunches.

Wok 'n Fire is a great Elmhurst little restaurant the usually always comes through. It is a good atmosphere (except the tables are showing a little age) and we have always had really nice service. It is a varied menu and I enjoy bouncing around. The Pad Thai is very good and a good portion. the lettuce wraps are also good. It's right in downtown Elmhurst so parking is a little spotty so we just go to the free public garage next door and not waste time looking for a street spot. Finally they have an excellent staff all of the times we have been there.

Went here recently with my wife; had the szechuan with tofu and it was awesome; wife had the double pan noodle and loved it. We had the beef teriyaki appetizer (amazing) and would highly recommend it. All in all a great place for Asian food so check it out.

I came here with a Groupon, and I'm glad I did! I probably would not have chosen this restaurant otherwise, but now I would definitely go back! They have good drink specials, and the food is really yummy! Yes, it is Americanized Chinese, but I don't see how you could think otherwise...? If that's what you're going for (which I was) you won't be disappointed! Our waiter CJ was super nice and went above and beyond on service. It's the best service I've had in awhile. Good find! Thanks Groupon :)

Don't bother getting the drinks here! They're super weak, overly sweet, and frankly poorly prepared! Dont trust the online menu...all misleading! Food is decent, but not great, especially not when I went hoping for some sushi! (Despite advertising, they do not actually serve any!!) Justly, I would try it again....but only after I had exhausted some other grand options and local treasures....

Yum! Was going to order Chinese from our Local spot- but closed due to holiday. Called wok n fire and made a similar order as I was going to- Veggie egg rolls Crab Rangoon then added a few entrees Teriyaki chicken with noodles (kids loved it) Steak Teriyaki- pricey (22-) but got rave reviews from my husband while eating. Yes- the meal was pricey- (but I did order too much) but food was really fresh and you didn't have that greasy feeling from after eating what we originally were going to have.. I think we may have a new go to when that craving hits. Oh- I ordered on the phone for a "to-go" and the man that took my order was so nice and then my son ran in to pick it up and he said they were really nice to him too- so that is an added bonus.

Ick. Barf. Ack. Went there on Monday for lunch with clients... *We had to practically beg for refills on our drinks *The waitress was nowhere to be found when we needed to place our lunch orders due to the typical lunch hour time crunch *The lettuce wraps came with wilty lettuce and barely any of the filling with which to wrap it in. AND THOSE WERE THE HIGHLIGHTS OF LUNCH!!!!!!!!!! My real stomach turner was that 3 of us ordered entrees containing beef for lunch... The Mongolian Beef Beef Pud Phet Double Pan Fried Noodles with beef All were served to us with heaping amounts of filler veggies and a skimpy portion of RANCID, ROTTEN MEAT!!!!!! Not that we'd want unlimited portions of that anyhow.... I guess it's called Wok 'n Fire because you practically risk your life going there. Thanks for the food poisoning WNF... I can't wait to be back NEVER!!!

I love Wok n Fire. Try the Mongolian Steak! . The service here is great. It can get busy but be patient and ask questions. The staff is always knowledgeable and great at suggestions. Have a special request? Ask! WIth plenty of veggie options, red meats, chicken, or seafood everyone will be happy. Top a great meal off by splitting the Sesame banana fritter. The atmosphere is warm: dark woods, red accents and an open kitchen . Giant-mural like paintings hang on the wall. Great for date-night. There's also an outdoor patio seating in warm months. They do close between Lunch and Dinner for a couple of hours.

It's my first time getting some food from this place and I was not satisfied ... The sushi was good, but the rest of the dishes were not my taste ... We had company and this was everybody opinion, not only mine .... I'll give it a try one more time and then I can write a little bit more ... I expected tastier food and maybe that's why I'm kinda disappointed right now ... I'll keep you updated

I have never written a review on yelp before, but I felt compelled after I ate at Wok n Fire this past weekend. The place looks modern and great from the outside and when we walked in the servers were friendly. However, the sushi was some of the worst I have ever had. We started with the Tuna Poke Appetizer. At first glance it looks good, but when break into it and have your first bite you realize how bad it is. It's these two or three crispy fried wontons with smushed avocado (possibly guacamole), and tuna mixed with some kind of sauce that tasted like a mixture of condiments. What ever is was it was not good. We had several rolls. One was topped with spicy tuna or what I thought was tuna. The tuna was so mashed that it was like a paste. (Spicy Tuna Paste!). It was very unappetizing. The other roll was drenched in mayo and Sriracha. I do not want to eat sushi rolls covered in condiments and this what I got from Wok n Fire. We also ordered the Pan Seared Dumplings. I picked one up and took a bite and the filling was so hard! Dumplings should have a moist soft filling. I literally spit it out. It seemed like they were old and frozen before being cooked. I feel like this restaurant would be a perfect candidate for Gordon Ramsey's show Kitchen Nightmares. We paid without finishing even half our meal.

The portions are very small and it is expensive. The ambiance is very nice but i feel like if there was a lot of people in there it would be very loud. I wont be returning.

Went at about 7pm on a Tuesday night and it was pretty empty inside, but it was also probably 10 degrees outside. Love the decor, nice and dark with red touches everywhere. Pretty romatic. Open kitchen. Our waiter was very nice, decently attentive. We couldn't decide between the scallops or the Shrimp Primavera and he recommended the primavera as one of his favorites, and said it had a lot of seafood. Sold. Started out with got the dumplings and got them steamed instead of fried. They came out virtually cold, inside were very hard pieces of meat, they definitely were not cooked through. $6.50 for 6 small cold dumplings - not worth it. Maybe fried would be better. We got the Blackened ahi tuna which was a specialty dinner item. It was a very large piece of tuna. It had good flavor but it was cooked a little too long as it was a big too firm. Came with a nice scoop of rice and veggies. On to the Shrimp Primavera which is also on the specialty dinner menu. Very tasty - lots of noodles (felt like ramen) and lots of different seafoods - scallops, squid, shrimp. But it did NOT come in a mild brown sauce as per the menu, it was a very SPICY red sauce. It was very tasty, but man was it spicy! It was so spicy we had to ask for rice to lessen the heat. Free parking lot right next door. $30 per person after tax & tip
