I generally read Yelp to get an idea of what to order. But, in the case of Jimmy Johns, I don't know what I was thinking. I already know what they have. I guess I was just interested to see what people thought of this location. The reviews are not good. So, I was expecting a bad experience, which fortunately, never came. The cashier was super friendly and the restaurant was clean. The Vito sandwich was good, but only because I requested hot peppers. Without them, it would have been pretty tasteless. Anyway, no one mentioned they have a small outdoor eating area, which was fairly nice, even though the music blasting. Good luck trying to eat indoors since there are only a few tables. I guess my only real complaint is that the restaurant is difficult to get to. You have to be going east on North Avenue or south on Route 83 otherwise you're hanging a u-turn, which I'm never sure is legal. I suppose I should really know this, but I just try to avoid backtracking . As of this writing there are ninety-six restaurants in Elmhurst. I plan on eating at, and reviewing, every one. Follow me on Yelp!

I don't often give anything other than a 5 star review, but this JJ's location is not up to par with ANY other location. I order about once a week, the employees on the other line are typically rude and seek pre-occupied. Delivery is quick...because I am one block away. They have messed up my order 2 out of the past 5 times.

Upon entering I was not greeted by anyone. In fact in order to even be looked at I had to greet and interrupt the girl cashiers story with a loud friendly Hello. She looked as though I was bothering her, she was clearly talking work gossip about another employee. It was rude. Every other JJs Ive gone to they are all very friendly and welcoming. She asked what I wanted and gave me the total. No thank you, didnt ask if I wanted a drink or anything else. She also answered the phone while I was there with a dull hello, I wonder if everyone is treated like this. The poor guy making the sandwich just looked uncomfortable the whole time. He was very nice, thanked me and the sandwich was good. Hes the only reason why I even gave two stars. I wish they were wearing name tags so I could properly call this girl out for bad customer service.

Called them 3 times between 8:15 - 8:30 on a Thursday night and they didn't answer the phone... Sounds like this franchise sucks.

I ordered a sandwich for delivery. I had a scheduled time between 12-12:15pm. It was around 12:30 and I called the shop to check on the order. I'm first on hold for 2 minutes and had the line hang up on me. I call a second time and am put on hold for over 5 minutes. I'm told that the sandwich is out for delivery but he didn't know how long it would take and could not contact the driver. He said they were short staffed and hung up the phone.. again. I finally get my sandwich at 12:45p. No apologies or anything from the shop or driver. I'm completely upset at the level of service from this shop. I understand that times do get delayed but to wait over 30 minutes from my scheduled delivery time is absolutely ridiculous and to have a staff that doesn't care about customer service is unacceptable.

My wife ordered a sub from here when she was at work. When she received the food and drink there was a bug in the cup. She called the store and spoke to a manager. The manager at this location stated to her "There is nothing she can do.I cant control mother nature!! The driver while walking out to his car or to the building probably had a bug fly into your cup. I can give you a credit or bring you a new sprite... We will never order from here again. Jersey Mikes for now on!!! You lost our business and our family's!

Don't eat here. Poor service, bad food and overall it's a nasty spot. It should be turned into a Subway or burned to the ground. Go to the store on York Rd if you must.

I love Jimmy Johns, what more is there to say? I almost always get either the Pepe with hot peppers or the Vito, and I never deviate from those two options. This location wasn't quite as "freaky fast" as others I've been to, but I saw that my sub was made with precision and care, because that's important in preparing a sammich. They didn't have Cherry Coke as many other JJ's have had, just regular and diet. #firstworldproblems.

After the 50 Cent debacle I sent email to customer service and got a very nice reply. They said there should not have been a 50 Cent charge to have tomatoes on the side if the sandwiches supposed to come with tomatoes and that he would contact this specific Jimmy John's owner and tell him so. I went back today and got the same old story, talked to the Jimmy John's owner, and he was adamant that he had to charge $.50 even though I paid for a sandwich that included tomatoes because it cost extra have them on the side. He said it was his policy. I told him that I sometimes give some of my tomatoes to my son who likes tomatoes..... He was ecstatic when he heard this. He said that's exactly why they charge extra. Apparently it doesn't matter that the cost of the tomatoes is already built into the price of my sandwich. I know this sounds ridiculous but it's extremely frustrating and I will never go back. I recommend you do the same as this guy does not care about customer service and plenty of other places do.

How am I the first the review this Jimmy Johns? Whatever, I'll take it! The staff here are hilariously nice, welcoming, and quick. During the massive heat wave, I started getting delivery for myself and several of my staff. Amidst at least a dozen different times, only ONCE did they get something wrong. I was (and still am) impressed. If you're looking for fast (it seriously is freaky fast) delivery, I would recommend Jimmy Johns every time. Also, don't leave without a pickle :)

It's located only a mile from where I'm at and the two times I've ordered taken over an hour to get to me

The food is always good. Never had an issue. My issue is with the owner/manager. He drives a huge black truck and the parking lot here is very small. He always takes the very front spot which would be better suited for his customers that are trying to run in and out. On top of it at least 50% of the time he is smoking out in front of the restaurant! Seriously?? At this day and age you would dare smoke outside a restaurant that you own in front of your customers that are buying food? And I am a smoker! Plus he stinks when he walks back into the shop! Dude! Work on your PR skills!
