Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Not really feeling the love for this place right now. We have wanted to try this place for quite some time now because of all the positive reviews on Yelp. First off we ordered for pickup. The lady said 45 minutes. We live with in 5 minutes of the place, by the time we got it home it was just slightly above room temperature. Grossly overestimated the time the pizza would be ready...don't they have a warming oven where the pizza's are kept warm? I've driven home with pizza 5 miles away and they were warmer than this one was. As for the pizza we ordered the County Inn Special. Bland, bland, bland. Nothing remarkable, or even outstanding. For that kind of money we should have gone to Pete's Fresh Market and gotten one of their take and bake supreme pizzas, which is a heck of a lot better than this one was. Needless to say we may try this place again....but not in the near future.

This is a tiny, local joint with great service and good pizza. My girls and I ordered two thin crust pizzas: a sausage, mushroom, and onion pizza and a mushroom, spinach, and onion pizza. Both pizzas had generous toppings and the crust was nicely crunchy without being burnt. When we stopped in to pick up the pizzas, the owner was super friendly and when we were chatting he treated us as if we were long time friends. Give County Inn Pizza a try on a day when you just don't feel like cooking dinner!

It was ok.. I'm glad they were delivering in this terrible weather but I'm not sure Ill go back soon. Pepperoni had a different taste and i preferred the sausage. The hot wing sauce was very good but some wings were soggy. The price was pretty comparable to other pizza places.

Soooooooo good! Great crust, sauce and ingredients. The only recommendation I would make is that when football season starts please open at 12 instead of 3. That said, the pizza is great. Keep up the great work.

I had read reviews for this place here on Yelp, and I was extremely curious as to what all the "fuss" was about! So, not wanting to cook on a Saturday night, I decided to try County Inn Pizza. I ordered a Double Decker pepperoni and mushroom pizza, as well as 5 BBQ wings. The man on the phone had to take my credit card number a couple times because he couldn't hear or understand me, which was a little frustrating, but eventually everything went through. Within the hour, my order was at my door. For $24.00 I was impressed by the size of the pizza. A medium is more than enough for 2 people! I finally found out why this place gets such great reviews! The BBQ wings were some of the best I have ever had, and I am not a "wing" person. The sauce was amazing! The only problem I had was they were a little on the fatty side. Other than that, they were great! The pizza is so unique, the crust has 2 parts, like a big mac. Crust in the middle. Which is unbelievably amazing! The ingredients are so fresh and delicious. The spicing is JUST right too. I could only scarf down 3 pieces before I was extremely stuffed. My overall experience with County Inn Pizza was great and I will definitely be ordering again!

Good crust, excellent sauce. By far best pizza in the area!

Got tired of over-paying for Roberto's pizza so I went here based on the great Yelp reviews and I agree! Loved it. The place itself is kind of a trip (not sure how to describe it) but don't hold that against it. Pizza was really really good and the lady there is super nice. This is now my go to.

Pretty good thin crust pizza. Fast and friendly service. Wish they had more options other than pizza and wings... would have liked cheese sticks but oh well. I would order form them again!
(4)Eva K.
One of the best! Great sauce, great cheese, great crust. What more can you say about great pizza? And great service too! This place has been a family favorite since I was introduced to it in the 90s and I sure am glad they're still around and use the same recipe. Get the double decker!!!!

This place is unbelievable! Been coming here since I was a kid when it was "county inn." I work in melrose park and often stop here on my way home from work and take it back to the city. The pizza is delicious. The crust is the best around and the toppings are always fresh. My husband loves the double decker pizza I prefer the regular, so we switch off. It doesn't look like much from the street, it is a takeout place. They offer delivery, but I always pick it up and usually steal a slice on my way home because I cannot wait! If you live in the area, you must try this little pizza joint.

Picked up a couple of pizzas from here. BTW, you can only pick up or have it delivered. Ordered a 1/2 sausage, 1/2 mushroom and their Italian Beef pizza. The pizza was OK, nothing spectacular in my book. Sauce was not flavorful enough. For a Chicago thin crust, sauce can make or break you in my book. However, I really like the sausage that they use here. Very good flavor. The Italian Beef pizza was the winner. It comes with red peppers and giardiniera which gave it the punch that the sauce could not. It was good and I would order it again. I'm at a 3.5 on a rating but since Yelp won't let you do that and since they are an independent place it bumps up to a 4. P.S. ALWAYS support independent pizzerias. I do my part. I can prove it by looking at my waistline! Cheers to All

So if my name isn't already a DEAD GIVEAWAY, yes - I love pizza. All kinds of pizza. Heard about this place from a few people, drove by it a couple times, checked yelp reviews and perused the pizza menu. Double decker pizza?? whaaat? Meatball pizza? Huuuh? $20.00 for an 18" one topping pizza? noo kiddin? AND you get a free 2 liter w/any 18"....I was in PIZZA SHOCK! Since I've never had meatball pizza before and this was my first time checking this joint out - I of course had to live on the 'wild side' and ordered this. The joint itself is old-school, tiny, carry-out and delivery only. Nothing to look at - and who cares anyway? your only here to pick-up your pizza, you pizza fools! Spoke to the really friendly guy behind the counter, this joint has been around for over 40 years. Noticed TONS of pizza boxes waiting for owners....phone was ringin off the hook! You'll notice many reviews here are from loyal customers who grew up with County pizza, not to mention new comer's to this awesomeness. Mind you, I already had visions of this 'meatball pizza' prior to getting it. Visions of juicy, homemade, saucy meatballs, cut into big meatball wedges lying all over the top of melted cheese (or underneath the cheese) I didn't care where it was. Just the mental image of meatballs on pizza was making me salivate...how could this not be good? (said to self). As you'll notice in pics below (my first ever food pic's posted, btw)..this pie was covered with mini meatballs. Was I crushed? a little...but after biting into this magical, flakey, thin, chewy and somewhat crispy crust - I was revived and my taste-buds were definitely happy. Mini meatballs were tasty, not dry. The yummy layer of mozz cheese was topped with Italian herbs - I could taste & see oregano, which gave this pizza a little more 'punch' or pizazz if you will.. Personally, I felt the pizza would have been just as tasty without it, but still enjoyed it. Would I order this pizza again? YES, yEs, yeS! It was unlike any other I've tasted. Fantastic oven baked crust. Not greasy. Perfect balance of cheese & toppings...and great sauce too. Sausage pizza had a nice spicey kick I loved.. I might want to try the double decker next time. Two flaky, light thin crusts on top of eachother with a layer of cheese in-between... heck, they should name this the Threesome pizza! :p YOU decide & check this place out! ps. they also offer Pan pizza - but heard their thin & double crust is what to get here. pss. they advertise they deliver 'almost anywhere' - just ask! how nice of them!!! They aim to please, & I'm a fan!!

Worst shit I ever ate! I wouldn't feed this to a dog! I wonder how they kept in business over the years. I got food poisoning from this place. Worst 3 days of my life. For 3 days, I just vomited and shit non stop.

Nice joint. Tried hard to get here but missed closing a few times. Finally found it during opening hours and well worth the effort. Not for the martini finger swagging guest but if you like old school friendliness without the kiss-ass service...get what you get with a positive, friendly effort, this is the slice for you. Not only was it a great slice, but they offer the "little pepperoni" slice that bubbles when bakes and has that perfect little crust that makes this slice a piece of happiness. If you are like me, from the Detroit area that remembers Pizzuti's or Dario's...the pepperoni is 100% perfect. I will never recommend galloway's but if you need an excuse for slice, and a frothy one while you are waiting, these two establishments make a perfect match!

Is it bad that I just woofed down the entire 10 inch pizza all by myself? In less than 15 minutes? What's that thing they tell you to do.... to lose weight, to feel fuller.... slow bites, chew each one 20 times, take a drink... yeah, well it didn't happen. I ordered my pizza on my way home. In less than 14 minutes I was at County Inn Pizza with a hot pizza to go. The place is tinnie tiny. Only delivery and pick-up. But boy oh boy. Good. Two dudes flinging dough and tossing toppins. I have to agree with Johnny T and Elizabeth. Yummers. I had mushrooms and onions. Both fresh and plenty of them! The pizza had nice flavor. The sauce, in my humble opinion was the right combo of sweet/savory. Crust nicely done. I think it is delicious. I will be back. I saw on the pizza box their new special is meatball pizza. My husband will be all over that. Small pizza, two toppings = $11. Good quality ingredients. I'll pay that.

One of the best and they deliver anywhere for a price. It great and as my reviews have shown I eat a lot of pizza. Thin crust rocks sauce is flavorful and a little spicy. You won't find any reviews from me for good pizza with sweet sauce. Try it you'll like it.
(5)Elizabeth G.
AMAZING!!!! Ordered from here for the first time as I had heard good things about it. Yummyumm! I had a double decker with meatballs and roasted red pepper. This was probably the most exciting pizza I had ordered in a long time. It had a good amount of cheese on it with an excellent flavor. The nice layer of cheese between the two crusts is pure genius. This place is without a doubt one of the best pizzas I have had.

One of my fav pizza places in the Elmhurst~ish area. I have been eating this pizza since I was 5! I have many fond memories of my Grandpa (rest in peace Gpa Chicken!) bringing a savory large green pepper, onion, sausage, and mushroom to their home and we would just taking that pie down like nothing. The pizza ingredients are fresh, the customer service is great, and it's always hot when arrived. This place is next to dive bomb Galaways and Mary Queen of Heaven Cemetery but don't judge or think your taking a spirit home with you.....it's a little joint with lots of flavor. I live in Lombard but at times will drive out for a slice or 10 of heaven. Delish!

Areas best pizza - cooked perfectly, great sauce, great sausage. Fresh toppings. You can taste the love.
(5)Kristen H.
If you like waiting 2.5 hours for a cheese pizza...order from this place. The reviews looked good so we decided to check this place out. We were told the pizza should arrive within the hour. An hour and a half later we called to check the status of our order, the guy who answered the phone explained that it was still in the oven and it should be out in 5 minutes...ok. At the two hour mark we called again, the lady who answered the phone had no apologies just straight attitude and seemed annoyed that we were calling. She said they were having a bad day and that one of their ovens was down. If that was the case a heads up would have been nice when the order was placed or at least after the first phone call. This place is a joke. No pizza is worth 2.5 hours. Wish I could rate it a zero!

I've had my fair share of pizzas, but from the first bite I knew I was experiencing something special and it was driving me nuts waiting for them to finally open at 4, which seemed like a long wait to me. First off, don't pay any attention to the map on the top right of the screen, its next to the Galway inn at the Roosevelt/Hamilton Rd. intersection. The building was very small. The concrete-grounded waiting area was even smaller that felt like I was stuck in a small storage locker. Got a large double decker (2 thin crusts in one pizza) with bacon ($18.50) it had to of been the best pizza I had in a long time. Every ingredient was top quality and the adding of bacon make it even better. I highly recommend this place. It definitely merits a try, even if you're from a far distance.

My fav thin crust in chicago. I've been ordering from here for years. A lot of people are still sleep on them. i wish they were open at lunch cuz i'd order then also. Great ingredients. Getchu some!

So, you think that being from Chicago means you know quality pizza? That claim can only be made if you think quality pizza comes from County Inn Pizza in Elmhurst. The craftsmanship of the pizza makers in this place are comparable to the skills which Michelangelo utilized for his renowned works on the Sistine Chapel!!! Ok, the painting may hold an edge above County Inn Pizza in reality. However, only slightly, as this place truly makes stellar pizzas, and it doesn't take three years from beginning of it's creation until you get to enjoy it either! That also is including delivery time as well. The place literally almost delivers anywhere too! I live on the very western edge of Lombard, and the County Inn Pizza establishment is located on the very eastern edge of Elmhurst... yet they deliver right to my door! That is an amazing fact, considering the trip is across three entire towns. Once the pizza is delivered (still piping hot I might add) it is attacked by anyone within my house. Let's just say this place NEVER has a pizza go to waste in my home! Another amazing fact as we normally order more than just one at a time. Yes, we do love County Inn Pizza, and so do all of our guests who have been fortunate enough to bless their appetites with it as well!!! This is not a dine in establishment, although they do have a couple of picnic tables outside if you like. However, they do have pizza. They have great pizza! The best around! I recently stated in a previous dining review, that I do NOT give out five stars, while sharing reviews within yelp. The reasoning for this is simply because I don't believe any place on this Earth is perfect. Unfortunately, I forgot at the time of making that statement that County Inn Pizza is the one and only exception to that rule! I have never had a bad experience from this place at any time, nor heard of anyone else having one either. If you think you know great Chicago pizza, then you know County Inn Pizza. If you don't know County Inn Pizza, then you should immediately introduce yourself. You will be eternally grateful that you did. Feel free to tell them that Michelangelo sent you. They won't understand, but when you fill them in... they will most definitely appreciate the compliment! County Inn Pizza, great people... greater pizza!!! Check it out for yourself! One of life's better opportunities! Another is the opportunity to the free soda that comes with your family size pizza as well!

All I have to say is delicious. Just had it for the first time tonight and will be ordering again. Our long search for a good pizza place is now over. Price is super reasonable and staff is very friendly.

County Inn Pizza is my #2 pick for best thin crust pizza in Chicagoland... My #1 being Phil's pizza in bridgeport but anyhow.. its really good pizza. County Inn always has the freshest ingredients and I love that the pizza is baked with cornmeal under the crust which gives it a better taste.. The Italian sausage is good quality and the pepperoni seems to have a little spice to it as well.. And the veggies are always crisp and fresh.. Order County Inn Pizza and you won't be disappointed..
(5)Steve H.
Probably closer to 4.5 stars. Delivery takes a bit, however definitely worth it. The pizza is fantastic and an exceptional value.
(4)Ingrid D.
County Inn Pizza sells pizza, just pizza. A little shack of a place, just east of 294 on Roosevelt Road that offers carry-out and delivery only. They specialize in thin, crispy pizza. They've also got double decker pizza which has fillings sandwiched between two layers of crust. I've never tried the pan pizza, but with thin this good, why bother. The crust is usually nice and crispy, yet tonight was a bit softer, but still good. Order a 16" pizza and get a free 2-liter bottle of pop. Another bonus is that the prices listed on the menu include tax, so my 16" half pepperoni, half bacon pizza was $17 on the nose. I'd give it 5 stars, but they don't offer as many toppings as other pizza places.
(4)Katie S.
I would like to express my love for County Inn pizza with my very own free style rap: Yo, I'm hungry and it's Wednesday night. I want a thin crust pizza with toppings all tight. I like the sausage and peppers, throw some shrooms and onions on it too. Pile it high, cuz I'm ready to fly. (whispering) Pizza, pizza. Gimmie that pizza. (louder) I said I want that pizza, pizza. Gimmie that pizza! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- How is it possible that I am the first to review this amazing little shack called a pizza place? There is not a better quality thin crust pizza in the suburbs. The toppings are the freshest and tastiest I've ever encountered. Don't be scared by the appearance, it's not pretty, but it is clean. You cannot dine here, it's takeout or delivery only. When you go to pick up your pizza you can see the kitchen and the dough being tossed 8 ft in the air. Give this place a try, you will not be disappointed. You will crave this pizza forever once you give it a shot. CASH ONLY Pizza Party!
(5)Brian S.
Best Pizza in Chicago in my opinion. Been getting my pizza here with my family for essentially my entire life. It is basically an every weekend event for us. When I lived overseas it was the thing I missed the most.
