Five stars: fries. Four stars: pizza, friendliness, desserts baked on site. Three stars: prices, service. Two stars: soups, fried whole catfish, salad bar. Not a bad choice, but not an inspired one either. Can't do better in Elizabeth for dinner than this.

After only one visit, I can say it really is welcoming. And it's the kind of place I wish were at my corner. I'm a big fan of these small town bars with the bar on one side, and a dining room on the other. Decor nicely worn like an old comfortable pair of shoes, and lots of old woodwork. A friend and I popped in here for lunch on a weekday. We sat in the dining area. There were a number of patrons both in the bar and the dining room. We both ordered lunch specials, my friend the AYCE salad bar and soup offer, and I the meatball sandwich. The sandwich came with soup or salad ($5.99.) The soup salad combo was $5.95. I loved the meatball sandwich which generously covered with lots of little meatballs, great marinara sauce and melted mozzarella. With a couple of nonalcoholic beverages, the total bill was $14-15.00. Not bad for lunch for two. The salad bar was OK, just heavy on the mayo-based salads. It is inçluded with the dinners though. Our server Jennifer was friendly and enthusiastic. She told has to come back on the weekend for dinner and to try the fish, prime rib or burgers. Sounds good to me! I hope to return for lunch or dinner. It's a good value with good choices.

Fabulous food served under poor management. Poor service diminishes a wonderful meal experience. Our server complained about working, her pay, her boss and her coworkers. Great food--worth the visit.

Our waitress, Pam, provided amazing service. The food was excellent. We had broasted chicken that was second to none. The fries are fresh cut, homemade. We also tried a bowl of cream of mushroom soup, also made from scratch. The servings are huge. We took over half of our food home. The prices were cheap for the amout of food we were served. Everything we had was excellent. The place was spotless and very organized. Everything was in its place. The decor was cute and simple. Owners were also friendly and thanked us for our business as we left.

Yea the chef/owner is a bit untidy looking, the place itself could use a decor update but the food is AMAZING. Home made, real food. We are going back for breakfast this morning, it will be our third time there this week (on vacation in Galena). We love server Haley too! Free wifi here too.
