Actual homemade food. De-lish-ous biscuits and gravy. Stuffed burgers. Just the right price. Will definitely come back here again.

Food had no taste. Service was slow and they didn't seem to care about you. They don't bring out everything you ordered at once. The restaurant interior was not clean. The bathrooms smelled. The silver ware was cheap. The glasses were cheap plastic. The salt and pepper shakers were sticky.. Gross... I recommend not coming here at all if you didn't think my review was bad enough.. Overall I'd rather eat at McDonald's than eat here..

We needed breakfast. We needed it now. We had seen The Broken Yolk when coming into Galena the previous night and decided it was a good a place as any to gorge on grease. We walked in and although the place was virtually empty, when we said we needed a table for 10, the waitress/hostess gasped "TEN?!" and walked away worried like without saying anything else. Um. OK. We were sat at two different tables because I guess that was all she could manage. Fine. Our server... well... she was kinda barky. There's no other way to describe it. As I've said in the past about these kind of establishments, what usually makes them fun and endearing is the service. This one was definitely lacking. Sadly, so was the food. I had the special of the day, a corned beef and cheese omelet. It wasn't bad... but it was not great either. I also had a side of biscuits and gravy and the gravy was not at all delicious. I was also charged extra for the 1/2 order of biscuits and gravy yet didn't get any hash browns with my omelet. Odd. It took FOREVER for the bill to come and for us to be released from the awful country music Hell that was the ambiance. I would definitely not recommend. P.S. this is a cash only establishment

Great service and excellent food-- everything was homemade and the stuffed burger was delicious. We will definitely stop there again the next time we pass through the area!

Stopped by on a Sunday morning around 10am for a bite while heading out of town. We were told that it would be 25 minutes to receive our food, after we ordered, since it was busy and the kitchen was a bit behind. No problem for us. We got seated, and waited a while for the waitress to take our order. After she took our order, another waitress came by to take our order. We informed her that we were already being helped. Then we waited for a long time for the food. In the time we waited for our food, we watched others enter the restaurant, sit down, order, receive their food, then leave. We finally asked where our food was, after about 45 minutes, and she went back into the kitchen and brought it out immediately. At this point, the restaurant was much much less busy. Obviously, there either was confusion as to which server's table we were sitting at, or nobody cared. And the food wasn't very good either. I wouldn't stop by here again if I'm in Galena.

Yikes - 30 minutes for 2 scrambled eggs & toast. This place stays in business because of its location on Hwy 20 between Rockford & Galena. There can be no other reason. The service was slow and surly, the food marginal at best. Avoid it if you can.

Ok, it is a roadside joint. Breakfast is ok, cheap silverware, plastic cups, food is mediocre... If you are hung over and need some grease go for it. Otherwise... find another place.
