It was a Sunday night and I was bored as all "h-e double hockey sticks" siting in my hotel room. I come here every time I'm in town usually sit at the bar as there's no reason for me to be at a table. All bar tenders are usually very awesome. Sunday's was extra spectacular. Nice lady who has personality and can spark up a conversation. Make you feel at home. I ordered a salad as I had already eaten too much delicious steak for this place. Per usual it was very good. Hospitality is remarkable. I recommend. Ps: If you order the wings, ask for extra crispy

The Delmonico steak was thin and gristly. Service was good but value for the dollar-nada.

A five minute wait at prime time dinner on fathers day?! OK! :-) We were on the road headed home and wanted to grab something better than fast food. Options were limited so I knew this would be our best shot until we hit Chicago. It has been awhile since I have been to a Lone Star. I am old enough to remember when they were the hot new chain ;) Since the height of their hey day, though, they seemed to have dwindled off, the few remaining locations I have seen have looked like lost dinosaurs. This location was interesting because it seemed like new construction. Gone also are the peanuts ; ) (sniff sniff) Good thing Logans is still around and doing peanuts. I have to say the customer service at this particular location was off the hook, super nice people and we were very well taken care of. The food was all very good and tasty. We ordered cheeseburger, salad, loaded potato, soup, and porterhouse. $2 draft specials. Amusing story I'll share with you, a long long time ago, I worked overseas in Europe and USDA grade beef was not commonly found nor was a dinner salad. So I stumbled on, of all things, a Lone Star. I was thrilled and fantasized about having a steak and salad. When I went there, the locals there really took the wild west theme to heart, meaning the little kids understood the concept to be more of a cowboys and indians playland than a restaurant. Needless to say I was dodging peanuts that were being slung from all corners of the establishment while trying to eat my food. It was completely out of control - LOL

After a long trip on I-70 Lone Star Steakhouse was just right. Fast friendly service at the bar as I like it on trips. Food was as good as it gets. A perfectly done steak with fresh sides. The price was right too.

This place has ups and downs you can go one time all is great service food will be good and another time hostesses are terrible takes over a 45mins to get your food and over all it will be terrible. It's just a chance you take with this place don't expect the blonde lady mgr to care if it's bad she won't take care of it.

Man, their baby back ribs and smoked prime rib... Wow, meat falls off the bone and the prime, so tender and tasty. Hard to find a good steak off the highway when traveling through a small town. If money isn't an option and you plan on stopping for the night, then this is a stop for you. After a meal here, you'll want to take a nap! :-)

Better steak than Manny's Minneapolis. Basic Roadhouse with very good food and young inexperienced help. It's a great place if you accept it for what it is.

Brown salad, lukewarm baked potato and old tasting ribs. The beer was fresh. Empty parking lot should have been a warning.

Not sure I'll ever be in Effingham, Illlinois again since I usually drive straight through to Northern Illinois from Nashville. But if I do, I'll be sure to stop here for dinner. I went by the place to the nearby hotel around 3pm and there was not a single car in the parking lot when I drove by it. When the hotel folks said it had a pretty good steak, I was somewhat not completely convinced. But, having overslept on my afternoon nap a little bit, I rolled off the bed and out the hotel door and, to my surprise, the place was full of cars. Went in and immediately noticed that the smallest table was for 4. The maître d' very quickly said that all the tables were full but I could have a seat at the bar and get a menu there. I noticed a few of the 4 person tables were empty but, heck, she was only doing her job which was to steer single customer's to the bar so that couples coming in had available tables. No problem. At the bar, I ordered a draft Coors Light (I had been driving all day. I didn't want a bear that tasted like a meal, I wanted one that went down quickly so I could get another one). I ordered their Texan Ribeye medium with a loaded baked potato. I figured, with the crowd there, I might be waiting 20-25 minutes. About 12 minutes later, a waitress came out with my plate. The steak was perfect. Slightly pink along the center. I had expected a baked potato about the size of a large carrot. This one filled the rest of the plate. Could have been a meal in itself. A beer, a steak and a baked potato loaded with sour cream, chives, bacon bits, and shredded cheese. I was in heaven. A well cooked ribeye is really tender and this one was. Full of flavor too. I was so content, I had another beer to celebrate. The staff was attentive and happy to hear my cries of delight. Did you ever go into a place where no one wanted to admit there were other customers nearby??? The don't bother me places? Not here. People were talking across tables about the games that were on the two TVs behind the bar. The people next to me were locals from a nearby town. Very friendly. I was glad I stopped here.

Nice place. Challenge to get to. Friendly service. Very busy on Friday at 6. Beer cold-appetizer was good. Steal prepared well. Price is ok. I will return. Good value and you will get what you expect here. Not bad.

No wait. Great service. Delicious rolls with a honey butter. Nice salad instead of fries with my rib eye sandwich. Meat had a little fat but easy to remove. Very tasty steak on a delicious roll that appeared fresh and grilled. Easy to get to from the highway. Would stop here again if given the chance.

Had the loaded potato skins as an appetizer. Terrific !! Ordered the filet with garlic shrimp. Great flavor to the steak. A little heavy handed on the seasoning, but over all pretty good. Cooked perfect. 2 others with me ordered steak and their's was cooked perfectly too. Decent service, but nothing spectacular.
