Very nicely decorated. We appreciated the hard woods. Unfortunately, our table for two was on the sidewalk near the parking lot. The BMW was our neighbor. The disorganized staff gave us our entrees before the salad. Eventually our salads arrived and we sat observing our meal, waiting for silverware. The manager and waitstaff expressed their recognition for our plight. The meal came out perfectly cooked, quite satisfying.

DISAPPOINTING & OVERPRICED So my girlfriend & I decided to try out the new Mike Shannon's on a Saturday night. I will say the building and decor is nice. But there were quite a few problems. First, when it's 15 degrees outside, close the outer door so that the people waiting 45 minutes for a table don't freeze every time someone goes in or out. Also, when we were finally sat, they put us at a table in the bar area. I assumed that, like most restaurants, when you wait for a table it's for the dining area. The bar portion is nice, but still a bar. Plus our table was constantly being bumped into by servers & patrons trying to get past the crowd of people there just to have a drink. The waitress was pleasant, but would disappear for 15 minutes at a time. They bring room temperature tap water in a fancy bottle and give it to you with no ice. The menu is pseudo-cajun and overpriced. I got the half a roast chicken on top of mashed potatos (it doesn't come with any vegetable) for $20. My chicken was extremely overcooked & dry as sawdust. My girlfriend got the cajun pasta with chicken ($19). It was ok, but there was hardly any chicken in it. The large ceaser salad that we split ($9) was uninteresting at best. The upside down apple pie was pretty good, though. Overall we spent 2 hours & $72 (with tip) for a very disappointing meal in a very loud environment. If you're looking for somewhere to have a nice dinner, go somewhere else. If you want to have a drink in a nice building full of baseballs, maybe give it a shot.

This is a great place for a burger or a steak. Great atmosphere in a sports theme. You could spend hour looking around in here. The door is good and the prices are competitive The onion rings are excellent.

Consider this an upscale sports bar. Food is fine, but pricey. All the tap handles pour some sort of AB InBev product. Good selection of bottle beer. the cocktail menu looks interesting. Service was fine. I can't think of one reason to return.

I've been looking forward to trying Mike Shannon's for a while, but I think my boyfriend was a bit hesitant because the one in STL is a bit out of our price range for now. After convincing him that this one was not as expensive, we finally got around to going last week. Food gets five stars. Everything we had was excellent. He had a greek island salad and the roast chicken, I had a cobb salad and the salmon. Everything tasted excellent and the salads were much larger than I had expected for side salads. I liked that our server informed us upon ordering that my boyfriends roast chicken was had about a 30 minute prep/cook time. We weren't in any hurry, but had we been, I like that he mentioned it to make sure that it would be alright as soon as we ordered. The server was friendly enough, but rather absent. Took a bit longer than it should have to get our check. Overall though, I enjoyed the experience, and I'll definitely be back.

Whaaaat? $80 for a steak.. not the best as it was laced with gristle with 5 stalks of asparagus.. oh my, 3 scallops on My plate! Wow.. over priced is not the word. And when we say thank you we get NO PROBLEM as an answer. We also noticed more food going back than being eaten. Wont be back.. you come at your own risk!!

We went on a Wednesday- 1/2 price wine night. They have free tastings and both bottles and glasses are half off. Yay!! This was my first visit to MSG and the place is very comfortable and pleasing to the eye. The memorabilia is very cool. There is a really nice patio with a fire pit that would be great for mild evenings. Our waiter was courteous and knowledgeable. Mark had a burger and side salad and I had the French Dip and side Caesar salad. Both came with delicious French fries that were very fresh, hot and crispy. My salad was delicious as well. The French Dip left a little to be desired as it didn't seem to be homemade-more like it came in a tub from Sam's. It was served hot and fresh though, with warm au jus. The entrees on the menu have pretty steep prices, so I will be happy to come back on Wednesday evenings for the wine tasting and bar fare.

Overrated! Over priced. Nice atmosphere and friendly service. Just okay food not worth the money.

Came here tonight for the first time with friends that have been here before...upon being seated I was excited as I reviewed the delicious looking menu..however, my experience began to go down from there. We had to flag down a server because no one came by our table for over 15minutes...we were ready to order by then so we did..toasted ravioli is delicious!! I ordered the BBBB and that was absolutely delicious(I substituted the blue cheese for their housemade American cheese). The server came back maybe 1 other time and then once again it took forever to get the checks. Overall the food gets the 3 stars however I can't give anymore because the service ruined it for me...I've been a server so I know how important it is to deliver good service and for it being a Monday and not very busy I would have expected a lot more. I never saw the dessert menu either :( maybe on my anniversary if I decide to come back my VIP membership will allow me to try it...

The first thing that you notice when you walk in the door is the phenomenal amount of memorabilia on the walls in both the ding area and the bar. Not just baseball items either; football, a horse racing wall, etc. We sat in the bar and check out the wall to wall flat screen TVs with multiple sporting events. The service was a bit slow but the ambiance kept us busy and occupied. My husband ordered the beer battered shrimp with fries. The shrimp was very good and the items were hot. I decided on a combination of appetizers for my meal: Dry wings and a bowl of chicken tortilla soup. The soup was a bit thick and stew like for my taste but the flavors were very good and made up for that. The wings were a bit of a disappointment. When I eat a dry seasoned wing, I expect the seasoning to stand out and make the need for sauce obsolete. That was not the case with the wings. I had to salt them and add steak sauce. The highlight of the meal by far was the upside down apple pie! WOW! This baby is amazing. The "top" consists of a caramelized brown sugar layer, followed by perfectly cooked apple pie and a crust. This glorious pie was serve a la mode with vanilla ice cream. All in all we really enjoyed our outing. We will definitely be back!

Food was good. The service was awful! We checked in at 6:30PM on a Tuesday evening. We were quoted a 25-30 minute wait time. We decided to wait at the bar and have a drink. The bartender was unfriendly. She seemed impatient and annoyed. After waiting an hour and observing that the dining room was half empty, we checked back in at the hostess stand. The hostess was unfriendly as well. She said the kitchen was backed up and they were not seating. She said about another 15 minutes. Thirty minutes later, she came up and asked us what our name was and then sat us. We never received a text notifying us our table was ready as we were told we would when we first checked in. . It just seemed really chaotic and unorganized yet it was not crowded. Our server was fine. The food took about 45 minutes to come out. At this point, it was close to 9PM on a weeknight and the dining room was about a third full so I don't know why it took so long. The only reason we stayed was because we bought a groupon and we did not want to have to come back again. We never did see a manager on the floor. No apologies for the wait. We just moved to this area from St Louis. . We've been to the STL location and it was great.. It just seemed like the service and management at this location did not have it together. The two star rating is for the food.

New restaurant over by Peel in Edwardsville. The atmosphere is good, as is the waitstaff. Lots of TVs and sports memorabilia for the Cardinals. This is a welcome addition to Edwardsville.

Been to the St Louis location on several occasions and always impressed. I know the Edwardsville shop is not trying to copy the St Louis restaurant, but man, take a clue on food preparation, timely service, and over all readiness. Been there three times, first time wife's food came out 10 minutes after mine and poorly prepared. Sent it back. Asked for lemon for my fish, it came about the same time the check did. Second time pretty much the same. Third time just sat in the bar and ordered appetizers. 5pm and pretty much empty. Took 25 minutes to get wings. "Kitchen was backed up". With what? Likely not going back for some time. Too many other places are offering good food, good service, and an overall well organized staff.

Great lunch today! Fish tacos, Cobb salad, sweet potato fries were all delicious! We will be back. Great bar too.

I was excited to try this place, even as so many restaurants are opening in Edwardsville these last couple years. My wife and I started simple with our first visit - I ordered the Bronx Bomber and she ordered the simple cheeseburger. We both asked for ours medium-well, but they came without any pink. Our server asked us how our food looked before we took our first bite, and didn't come back until we were almost done eating. If the meat had been dry I would have been especially upset about this. As it was, it turned out fine. The meat blend in the burgers is really well thought out. A much meatier flavor than your standard burger and a bit more like eating a steak. My Bronx Bomber had a tiny, thick sausage patty on it. I would much rather have had a flat wide patty so I could taste it in every bite, but instead had to carefully bite off a little sausage to go with each bite of burger. Even with the trouble of this, I really enjoyed the sandwich. It had just the right amount of italian flavor but still tasted like a burger. I ordered the sweet potato fries that came topped with candied jalapeño and served with a side of smoked ketchup. The ketchup had a lot more going on than just smoke flavor, but it was very good. They really should offer it for their regular cut fries. All in all, I think their service could use some work and the kitchen could do with a little more practice getting the burgers cooked to each level of doneness. I'm sure medium-well isn't all that common and is definitely hard to get if you're not a pro. But these guys are pros and they sell steaks here. I expected to be able to get just a little pink in my burger. I plan to go back to try the steaks, but this meal was surprisingly affordable. The website menu made it look like the fries and sandwiches were all á la carte, but the burgers do come with fries at no extra charge. It's a nice place to go get a burger and Fitz's Root Beer or Ski in a glass bottle, but I'm not sure yet how well they'll serve a steak.

Went with the hubs on a slow weekday afternoon. We both got burgers. He loved his gyro burger. Mine was the one with the pineapple. Definitely needed more pineapple. It was a small piece of grilled pineapple too thin so the overall balance of flavor was off. Service was great. She was very attentive. Overall, if we are looking for gourmet burger place in the neighborhood, we'd come here over any others.

Very disappointing first and last visit. I ordered the grilled salmon entrée, which I had asked the waitress to tell me more about before ordering. Her description of grilled salmon with tomato pesto on top and asparagus on the side was very different than the grilled salmon on rice and lentils with no asparagus that I received. After asking, she did bring out the asparagus for me. It didn't matter though as both the salmon and the asparagus were incredibly greasy and salty and basically inedible. My plate literally had little puddles of grease on it-yuck! And, this inedible meal cost $18-not a good experience at all and the waitress didn't seem to care that I couldn't even eat the food I ordered. It's nice to see Edwardsville get more restaurants, but it's hard to make grilled salmon and asparagus inedible and charge $18 for it. No thanks.
