Clean place and very friendly employees...were patient with me since it was my first time there. There were about 12 soups available. I was pleased to see that they had many vegetarian options! The really nice thing is that you can sample a soup before ordering. I was also looking through their sandwich list and they had great options....but you can tell that this place takes pride in their soups. So far I have had one soup (Roasted Tomato) and it was very very good. Not a drop was left in my bowl.

HOW have I not known about this place before??? Amazing soups- every one of them is so good. I had lobster bisque that day but so many to choose from. Even better surprisingly are their sandwiches! I never go for chicken but you must try their Greek style chicken flatbread- absolutely tasty and hits the spot. Portions are great too especially for the price. Def going to be one of my new go to spots.

A solid four stars for Zoup! I am newly working in the DG/Lombard area, and because of Chrissy W, I can get to Cheeseburger in Paradise, Sal's, Enchanted Castle, Yorktown, and the Carlisle. Unfortunately, my knowledge of the rest of the area is pretty narrow... so, I've been resorting to grubhub and Yelp to find places near me to get lunch. Enter, Zoup! They have online ordering with pre-order for pickup, and even their own pickup register/counter, which proved extremely convenient. I placed my order online, a TryTwo (soup & half sandwich) with the turkey chili and four cheese grilled cheese sandwich. Both were delicious, but the chili was so huge and filling I could've gone just with that, which I will keep in mind. My only criticism for the chili, and this is completely personal preference, is that the turkey was in chunks, not ground. Service was FAST, when I pulled into my parking spot "Tighten Up" by the Black Keys had JUST started on my radio, and was STILL on when I got back to the car. Speedy Gonzalezes over there! There were several soup options, and the soups even have weight watchers points listed on the online menu. That definitely helped me to opt for the turkey chili versus the lobster bisque!

Zoup! Fun to say, fun to eat (if you like-ah the soup). This place offers more soups than the eye can see. Little known fact that eyes can see 11 soups: this place offers 12 daily. The staff lets you sample before you buy, which is very exciting if you are terrible at judging soups by their cover. Ahem, like me. I had the chicken pot pie soup, which was pretty good, mostly because they put this crumbly crust stuff on top of the soup. I ordered a half chicken sandwich to go with it, which was a little lackluster. I probably should have just ordered two soups. So why the lukewarm review? It's just a little expensive and the non-soup offerings seem a little boring.

Yes, I like that there are 10 different soups available on a daily basis, all of which you can taste test. Unfortunately, I've run into a situation twice where the soup that I tried tasted fine, and then the soup I went home with seemed over-salted. Maybe I just didn't notice the salt because of the 1 TBSP size taste portion. Regardless, I should know better and just go across the street to Portillo's for lunch.

The service and food at this restaurant are excellent. It was our first time dining here, and the woman behind the counter was very helpful, explaining that they have many soups, but the menu rotates every single day. They also offer free samples until you find the soup you like. All of the soups we tried were great! I chose the broccoli cheddar. You can combine the soups with half sandwiches or salads, or just get one of either of those. They also offer whole sandwiches. While the soups were very good, the sandwich I had (Southwest Turkey) was amazing too! This location is a new restaurant, so the decor was new and it was very clean. I highly recommend Zoup, and I think it's a great idea to have a quality soup restaurant around. We will be back.

I had a quick lunch here with a client. it was OK, but nothing mind blowing. The soup was solid, but my salad was forgettable and tiny. I had a sourdough roll, which was decent, but nothing earth-shattering. I'd eat here again, but I have to wonder how this place does during the summer.

People are very nice and helpful... they have 12 different soups at any given time and want you to sample until you find one you like. I had the Try Two with lobster bisque and greek salad. Par for the course with the salad, but the lobster bisque was good because it had huge bits of lobster. Only three stars though because it was overpriced in my opinion. My meal was over $9 and I could get a You Pick Two from Panera for cheaper than that... and similar quality of food.

I want to like Zoup. The soups I've had have been quite good and they constantly rotate selections which is a nice change of pace than the ever present 14 value meals you may find else where. The salads were OK. The staff was quite friendly although very obviously canned greetings and responses. I will definitely continue to be a patron.

this place should close as prices are way to high , and zoup Sucks. we were there Yesterday for lunch just two of us and well price for just two soups was over$20. nothing else just soup and bad soup. we will not be coming back. Hope no one ask about your store as we will tell them how bad soup and service was. Thanks for letting us find out now how bad your food is

Almost a four star but not quite. It was a very good experience top to bottom including taste, service, price, and cleanliness. The ability to sample the soups 1st is a great idea and the consistency of friendliness/effort amongst the staff is awesome. I would recommend a stop here. It is a place that maybe you don't leave the house for as a destination but if you are in the general vicinity of Butterfield Rd., make it point to give it a try.

I had Zoup cater a lunch meeting for 15 people at my office today. The meeting attendees were all very pleased with the food selection. It was a nice change from the typical boxed lunches. Zoup provided a variety of soups, sandwiches and salad. Delivery was prompt, food was delicious, and I would definitely order with them in the future. I ate the chicken pot pie soup which was delicious, and the tuscan chicken sandwich was also very good and flavorful. Would definitely order those again.

We stopped in on Sunday afternoon after driving by the sign. I had not heard of Zoup before. I sampled the lobster bisque and boy was it rich and delicious. I sampled the chicken with roasted garlic and liked it well enough to order the 'side soup' size. The sourdough roll was really good also. I signed up for the email list to get their daily email on the soup offerings. I would go back again if I was in the area. Not sure I would travel from my home in Villa Park just to get the soup, however.

We ordered lunch from here all the soups were good the sandwiches seem to be the issue with this place two of our group got the roast beef they said to skip it neither of them finished the sandwich I got the grilled cheese it was pretty good but didn't wow me. Another guy got the tuna and it was ok. So if you dying for soup this place has some good ones.

Zoup! I don't know what they were trying to garner from this brand name concept and I don't care. It's like someone gave them a do-it-yourself restaurant kit to set up. Food is definitely overpriced and nothing is interesting or unique. To their credit, my turkey sandwich was decent, but nothing I couldn't easily replicate at home at a fraction of the cost. My salad was abysmal. Processed chicken bits on top of lettuce. Didn't try the soups, but from other reviews seems those come frozen anyway. Part of the do-it-yourself restaurant kit, I guess. The staff is sort of annoying b/c they just keep standing around talking to each other. Anyway, I hope this saves you a trip to Zoup!

I feel like the charm has kind of worn off this place for me. At first, I loved the idea of being able to have delicious, homemade soups quickly. However since trying this place for the first time, I feel like both the service and the quality of the food has gone downhill. Today I came for lunch on a rainy, gloomy day. As expected, this soup restaurant was packed and their staff seemed to not know what to do with the volume of people lined up for hot soup. It took me several minutes to place my order, but when I got to the register I noticed that there were actually more soups on the menu that were on the online menu. So, I guess you can't rely on the online menu for the accurate choices. Then, I ordered my food and asked for a different kind of bread for my sandwich and no onions. When I got back to my office I realized that they had not listened to my requests and gave me the sandwich as is. Last but not least, I am pretty sure that my clam chowder had chicken in it. My co-worker also complained that her vegetable gumbo had very few vegetables in it and was mostly broth.

This place is awesome! I cannot believe all the different soups they have there! The best part is that all of the people that work there are SO nice and accommodating. They offered to let me try as many soup samples as I would like before making my selection. That is pretty awesome! I got a delicious lobster bisque with a lemon caper tuna sandwich! Yum! The bread was tasty, but could have been a bit more fresh. I think this is a great place to go on your lunch break! Make sure you take any soup lovers there too... they'll think they died and went to heaven!

Chicken pot pie soup is excellent. Soup comes with your choice of bread. Had the loco burrito salad. Very tasty and the dressing had a nice kick to it. They do have half and half combos. They let you sample any soup you want. Will definitely go back again. All the employees were friendly.
(4)
Eric C.
They will let you sample any soup you like which is nice. I really enjoyed a 7 bean soup in a bread bowl and it was a satisfying (and filling) lunch. The veggie wrap was sub par. Stick with the soup here and you'll be happy. I will agree with other posts here that the prices are high for what this place offers, but I will still return if in the area.

I went of my way way to try this place out for lunch today and was disappointed. I thought the soups would be amazing and the one I had was bland and boring. I got the Chicken Pot Pie Soup and and Veggie-terrainian wrap and both had no flavor. I went because I was looking for a healthier option for lunch and just got a bunch of blah. I will not go there again, I can get better soup and sandwiches at Panera.

My wife and I ate here the other night, well, we took it to go anyway. Their soups really are fantastic. We had the Mac & Cheese Soup and it was very tasty. I agree with the person who said this place is very similar to Panera, but this place differs in that a) they offer a much wider variety of soups and b) their soups are higher quality. I also had a sandwich, as did my wife and the total bill was under $20...not bad at all. I enjoyed my sandwich very much, fresh vegetables, all toasted to perfection. The staff was very friendly, they made it a point to explain themselves a little bit so we knew what made them different. I will definitely be going back, gotta try that Lobster Bisque I'm hearing so much about.

I love free sampling all zoups before purchase. Tried the salad/sandwhiches but soup is really the reason to visit here. Make sure to check out the frequent purchase card.

We had an excellent lunch here with our family. The Mac n cheese soup combined with cheeseburger was delicious! I also had the Greek chicken wrap which was very tasty. My husband loved the lobster bisque and really enjoyed the tuna wrap too. You can even taste as many soups as you want before purchasing! I must have tried 7 and I had such a tough time choosing since they were all so good. The staff was friendly and helpful, they gave me suggestions when I asked. There was a pretty good crowd inside, but I was able to get my food in a timely manner. Since it is a newer restaurant, one of the managers even came out to talk with us and find out how our experience had been and see if there were any complaints we had. The restaurant was also very clean along with the bathrooms. We enjoyed our lunch and our dining experience and plan to go back again soon!

While I'm not a big soup eater, I do love the occasional bowl of chicken dumpling, avgolemono, potato & leek. But not at these prices! I couldn't even find the dumplings in the chicken soup and it had an odd spice I couldn't quite place either. The consistency of the soup was a bit gelatinous and all in all, I've had better. Salad OK, but again pricey. I might give it another try on a cold winter day if they are still in business by then!

The soup is delish, but I got a breadbowl today, and it made me ponder how long it's been around. The inside was like loaf bread that wasn't closed all the way, stiff, crumbly and lumpy. Will never get again. Still a fan due to the taste before you buy, and the yummy pot pie soup. Otherwise, I'll be going to Panera from now on for my breadbowls.

Walking in to this restaurant I was disappointed because it looked like just another chain restaurant with a limited menu. While the restaurant does have a chain feel to it, many original items are available on the menu. The soups are mass produced, but I think they are really tasty. Being a diabetic, the availability of a whole wholegrain sandwich option is appreciated. If you do choose this option though, your sandwich will be a wrap instead of a sandwich, which is not a problem for me. It is possible to go on line and see exactly which soups are available on a given day. I also appreciate that a whole wholegrain bread option is available with the soup or salad. They offer a punch card which is a good value when filled.

Love me some Zoup on a cold winter's day. We're having a exceptionally long winter so that fits my Zoup cravings just fine. They're not exactly close to me so I tend to stock up when I go. You can sign up for daily e-mails of the daily offerings. They have something called try 2 or duo something like that(they have many different combos). It's 2 small cups of any flavor & 1 hunk of fresh bread. I ended up going home w/ mac & cheese, crab bisque, losbster bisque, & pumpkin pie bisque. Each one better than the last. I've tried the lobster bisque before & it's truely fine restaurant quality-get a quart! Some flavors like the pumpkin & chicken pot pie come w/ pie crust topping that's to die for! I have'nt had the salads but they sandwiches are really good too. I usually wolf down a Santa fe Turkey on the drive home. You can try before you buy too. I hear Naperville is next-closer-can't wait! Online ordering too

Was waiting for this place to open as it's still cold out & soup is awesome in that weather. Unfortunately both soupos my brother & I tried were VERY salty. I agree with the reviewer who said they were most likely frozen soups. Won't try this again.

its a nice concept......but i mean, whats great about warmed up frozen soup? its CLEARLY frozen....subway has soup too.....(i dont go to subway btw!) but then the real sticker is the price!!!! i spent $15 on frozen soup and an airport salad (you know the kind!) not impressed. they werent busy so i had a chance to chat with the manager who confided in me he makes less than $11/ hour......isnt there a chef there? at least panera (also not a huge fan!) has people that have experience cooking... another place thatll come n' go.....people here want fresh!!!!!

Great Panera-esque food. I tried this place on a whim with my younger brother and sister and my girlfriend. It was between this and Portillo's for the billionth time so we went with this. The workers were pretty nice, they give out samples of the soup so we tried almost all of them. Their sandwich menu was pretty small but they are pretty darn good. For two kids meals and two "pick two" meals it was $30, not terrible but everyone loved their food. I'll definitely go here again if I'm in the area and would recommend it to friends.

Zoup has a lot of positives. It spells its name with a Z, that's fun right there. It is bright and cheery with samples available. There are lots of choices and the staff was very patient with me as I debated which to get. My girlfriend and I were going to Oak Park to be tourists so we decided to check out this place before we got on the highway for all the previously mentioned pros of eating here. Once we were eating, it really felt like the franchise it was. I had a bowl of Thai Chicken soup that was a bit flavorful but tasted a bit bland and like it came from the chain type restaurant we were sitting in. I think it is a really good alternative to fast food like burgers. I don't think it is as good as your average Panera; just had more soup options and less bakery. Once lunch was over my friend and I were annoyed we had decided to eat in Downers Grove and not waited until we got to Oak Park. We had snacks later on at Red Hen Bakery and mused that the soup there was probably way better than what we had for lunch. If your choice is burgers at a fast food restaurant, go here. But if you can find an independent place with actual homemade soup, by all means make that choice! Zoup was more fun to look at and say than actually dine there. Zat's ok!

I was hankering for a tuna salad sandwich and was heading for the nearby Subway when I chanced upon Zoup. It was divine intervention. The tuna salad wrap with capers was so much better than the footlong tuna I was going to get. Paired with the chicken pot pie soup and a ciabatta roll, it was well worth the $12. Though I could see this place being packed for lunch, I was the only one here. Clean bathroom too.

So they rotate through 100 options of tasty soups and some pretty great sandwiches each month... They even let you sample the soups before you try them! What's there to lose?! There are plenty of options to try something different for more than three months! There are several healthy, vegetarian, dairy free, spicy, and gluten free options on the soups too! I went for the combo... I had a half of the Chicken Toscana sandwich and a small bowl of the Chicken with Roasted Garlic soup. The soup is served with a small loaf of bread on the side. I must say, for the price, this was a pretty filling lunch! I walked away completely stuffed and didn't finish the extra bread! I also didn't get a drink! The Chicken Toscana sandwich was not lacking in flavor or chicken! And the Chicken with Roasted Garlic soup was like a chicken noodle soup, but with a nice flavor of garlic. My homemade is definitely better, but for a casual restaurant it was good. I can't wait to go back though because I tried the Chicken Pot Pie and it was soooo good! They said they serve it with some puffed pastry on top instead of the side loaf of bread. That one calls for a large bowl as it will be a meal in itself! The salads look pretty good too!

I don't know how good Zoup! is in comparison to other soup-centric places, but our experiences have been very good overall. What's bad about it? The seating is limited and it's a bit pricey. And it could be quieter in there. But all else is great. How many other places offer virtually-unlimited free food samples? Zoup! usually has over a dozen different choices available. Even if it seems presumptuous or pushing a good thing, try several. They have workers that are there solely to give you samples. Let them earn their keep. When I go, I typically order two side soups, allowing me to save a dollar. It's hard to shun the lobster bisque or the chicken pot pie - their two most popular choices - but the other soups are also quite good. My wife is a fan of the chicken and dumplings, and the thai chicken has a great aftertaste. Vegetarians have plenty of choices here. The bread that comes with the soup is also hearty and fresh. Yes, there are sandwiches, and while I've had one of them in the past, I can't remember how good it was. Service is very friendly. Possibly corporate-driven, but friendly nonetheless. My wife would easily give this place five stars. But again, how does this place compare to others like it? I don't know. There aren't any other places of this type here in the suburbs, save the other Zoup! location. Gotta give 'em props for offering an urban eatery in suburbia. I feel all metropolitan here. When thinking of a place to eat for lunch, I rarely think of Zoup! but I wish I'd think of it more often. When you want to go out for something different, or you're feeling lousy and want a change of pace, this can easily be the place to go. Zoup for you!

I was excited when this place opened up. Sometimes I could really go for a good bowl of soup, and given that they specialize in soups...I figured this was a sure shot. First let me say the lobster bisque is fabulous! Large pieces of lobster in a creamy, delectable stock. Dee-licious! Now the downside. The prices were incredibly expensive. To me, this place is very comparable to Panera, but much more expensive. I got a small bowl of soup, a 4" chicken sandwich (tiny little thing), and 2 small drinks for $16! The multigrain roll that came with the soup was hard enough to hammer nails. For that kind of price point, give me a fresh roll please. Lastly, it was dinner time, and the place was dead. There were 3 people behind the counter, so I was a bit miffed that the place seemed a little dirty. One of those 3 could have come out for a sweep, and to wipe the tables at least.

If you're craving a hot delicious soup like... - Chicken Pot Pie - Chicken Noodle Soup - Lobster Bisque - Crab Bisque - Seafood Chowder - and MORE This place has got it all. They have 12 different soups EVERYDAY and you're bound to find one or two that you like. You can sample all 12 before you buy! How awesome is that? You can call and get their daily soup list and order online! This place is great for Midwestern Students because it's quiet, free wi-fi, and hot delicious yummy SOUP! -- I mean, ZOUP!

Finally a restaurant with wide varieties of soup. Not just the typical chicken noodle, chili, etc., but creative and seasonal choices as well. As already reported from fellow yelpers, the lobster bisque is incredible. I also enjoy the split pea. Recently, I tried the pumpkin pie soup, it was different, but quite delicious. They change the type of soups frequently and customers can sample before ordering. The employees are very nice, excellent customer service skills. I also must recommend the oatmeal raisin cookie. I purchased after one of the employees raved about the taste. She was correct, very tasty theres a hint of cinnamon or brown sugar. Anyhow, the sandwiches and salads are very good as well. I am a zoup lover!

This was my second time at this place and I really have to give it just 1 star because of the bad customer service but the soup was good so 2 stars. The food was good but very expensive and I didnt feel full after a half salad, half soup and sandwich. Sorry to say this. This place is not for non soup items and the attendants acted like they hated to work there. I had the brown rice veggie soup, it was really good, but the lady who took the order was so stern and they spilled soup all over the plate and the sandwich basically looked like they shoved cheese and tomato on a bread. I prefer panera for the half sandwich and soup. It costed me 14$ for the half sandwich, soup and salad. Its very expensive. I am not going back again. Beware customers.

This place was so good! My boyfriend and I stumbled across it during a snowstorm and it was awesome to sample some yummy soups to warm up. We each got different wraps and soups (lobster bisque and chicken pot pie) and it was all delicious. I want to buy their soups by the gallon. So much better than panera and so many more options to choose from. Would definitely recommend.

I can not think of one good thing about this place. The soup tasted like it came out of a can and was sitting there all day. The sandwich I got (turkey club) was an insult to turkey clubs everywhere. It was a very small sandwich with just some cheap turkey and tiny bacon pieces, and it was $6.95. Very bad deal. Bottom line is that this place has very low-quality food and very high prices. You should Not go here.

I like Zoup. They let you sample a soup before you purchase it, they have a good variety and some unique ones too. Their Panini's are pretty good to. It's sort of like Panera I guess but a little better but still a bit pricey for what you're getting.

This place is amazing! Great service, food, and atmosphere.
FIRST!! This place opened up today, just got back from lunch, they offer 12 different soups every day and change them everyday. They let you sample as many different soups as you like before ordering, they also have sandwiches and salads. The food is high quality, tastes delicious, the restaurant inside is very clean and kind of small and cozy. The price is reasonable. The only annoying thing is that every 2 minutes on the button (or so it seems) one of the staff yells "Hot Soup!" and then the rest cheer back "Hot Soup!", making it very distracting when trying to hold a conversation. If it wasn't for the "Hot Soup!" cheer I would have given this place 5 stars.

I met two of my good girlfriends for a bite to eat for our monthly chat session. We picked this place because it was new and not too expensive. For a simple soup and sandwich place, we were so pleased! They offer a huge selection of soups of all different types. Creamy, broth, healthy, veggie, vegan, chili... so much! Best part? You can try any and all of them before you make your final selection. Nothing was TO DIE FOR, but it was very tasty! Before I went, I checked the website and was happy to find the menu had nutrition listings for all items. They also have points listed and I am guessing that is for WW friendly folks. We had the bean soup, lobster bisque, and chili for our picks. Yum! They closed at 8, but our conversation made us loose track of time. Around 8:15 they told us we could stay for a wile but if we didn't mind, they would begin cleaning up around us. How nice to let us hang out after closing! Good customer service! We were all happy with the food, service, and price of Zoup! Check it out!

Soup was good. It was a chicken gumbo. Had a good kick to it. Crazy pricey for soup and a sandwich tho. People were nice allowing us to try the different soups, but again pricey. 2 cups of soup, 2 half sandwiches, 2 pops and it was 26 dollars and some change. Honestly won't return. Too pricey for my blood.

Zoup: Panera Wanna Be? That would be the title of an article if I wrote one... No, they're not. They have 100 something soups and showcase a couple handfuls of flavors daily. The nice thing is they also list them on their website so you know before you go! I recently took a coworker here and we both fell in love with the lobster bisque, as so many others have too. We've probably been here 5 times in the past two weeks. Soups are their main thing but their sandwiches and salads are great too! The sandwiches remind more like if you tried to make a panera sandwich at home. That's a good thing I promise! The reason we keep coming back is the food and definitely NOT the service. There are a handful of girls who work here who are just rude and snotty. I get it- a lot of people hate their job and yours happens to be serving soup and giving samples all day. Please don't take that sh*t out on me! They act like their mom is forcing them to be there. No expression, short, and so rude if you ask a question or God forbid point out that they didn't give you any salad dressing whatsoever. Today my friend at work had a mix-up and when she was telling them what she didn't want on her salad, she accidentally said peppers. When she realized her mistake she went up there and asked if she could have them. The girl from the register went to the woman making sandwiches and salads and her response was, "well she said she didn't want them." Not all matter of fact but like a sorry she's shit outta luck type of tone. My friend yelled over and apologized saying it was her mistake but the woman just rolled her eyes. I guess I made the situation worse when I followed her to the counter because they forgot my salad dressing because now cranky lady said they should charge me for it. I could understand extra dressing but my salad was as naked as a a cupcake without frosting. Here is my favorite story... Apparently their server was down at one point this week and they couldn't take credit OR cash. BUT they were so nice they were willing to let me write my credit card information down and leave it with them to run it at a later time. Dammit why can't I add the blank stare emoji?! But seriously... Can we say liability? They seemed upset that we thought that was ridiculous. I mean, sure, here's all of my credit card information conveniently written down to fall into the wrong hands or not got shredded and to be used on Amazon. Soup wasn't THAT important to me. I think you should definitely eat there but if you can find another one nearby- try that one instead.

So I always kinda categorize Zoup as a Panera wannabe, but I always forget that it has way more options for soup. There are a lot of soups and they encourage sampling. The seating area is a little small, but it works. The pick up / drink area gets very congested and there are always people who have to be right up at the counter taking up a lot of space. The setup could be better to have more flow, but whatever. Good pickup place too.

I like soups and all different kinds so to have a place like Zoup! close by is awesome! On this visit I tried the New England clam chowder and a turkey club. Both were good and reasonably priced. Service is always good. You can also get in and out quickly if you are in a hurry for lunch.

Wow! This place has a great selection of soups every day. I went here the first day and had their Roasted Tomato soup and it was really good. Some of the best tomato soup I've ever had. Not your typical tomato soup, this was creamy and thick and flavorful. The second time I went here, hubby and I had the chicken potpie potato soup and he had the Greek Chicken Sandwich. The sandwich was good, but not as good as their soups. It is on the pricy side, but I like a good soup that isn't thin and had a good amount of flavors, so it was worth it. The bread that you also get on the side is very good. I signed up for their emails and get notified each day of what soups they have.

We had a great experience here Friday night. It was our first time here- it just never looked particularly appealing to us from the view in the strip mall, but it was really great. It's a very nice looking place (and very clean!) with booths and tables. They have about 100 soups they rotate through (you can see their menu on their website) and each day they have 10 (I think that's what they said). I really appreciated that you can sample the soups before you buy them- they were really good! The people working were very friendly and helpful. I got the Pick Two with the zesty tomato bisque (YUM!) and a Cobb Salad. They were both great. You get to pick a sourdough, french, or multigrain roll with your soup and they give it to you warm. My husband got two soups and really liked both of them- the crab bisque and the crab and corn chowder. I think they said that they have the chicken pot pie soup (with pie crust crumbles on top) and lobster bisque every day. They also offer sandwiches. We met some friends and stayed almost until they closed and the people working were patient with us as we stayed. Overall, we enjoyed our food and thought the service was good and the restaurant nice. We'll be back!

I had a cold and needed something perfect for a cold.. Soup! The tomato basil soup was excellent, fresh and had chunks of real tomato, and was thick. The sandwich was not on the same level as the soup. As if they were an afterthought added to the menu. Either way, it was a hot melty sandwich, I ordered the whole sandwich with a soup bowl, this is their medium size portion. My total was about $14 which I thought was steep for the burbs. The sandwich was smaller than something you would buy at a jimmy johns, and the soup itself was the overpriced item in my opinion. I uploaded the menu boards. IF I come here again it will be just for the soup. I am sure they have overhead for selling jars of broth which makes sense.

Great concept is you want a quick lunch that isn't fast food. They make over 100 soups, but rotate 12 in each day. Serviced with bread. Best choice is sour dough. Side salads were a bit weak.

My bf and I were in a soup crave and we figured we would give this place a try since it's near our school. I've usually been a fan of Panera, even though they're a bit pricey at times and figured that this place would be similar....in the end I found this place to be overly expensive and not worth it. I ordered a grilled cheese and cup of soup, while the bf ordered half a sandwich with a cup of soup. When I got my order, it was literally two plain pieces of bread with one slice of cheese melted between them....along with a pretty small portion of soup. I believe I paid over 10 bucks for just that. The bf didn't enjoy his soup too much and was also pretty disappointed with the portions. Maybe it was a bad experience? Anyways...I'm sticking to panera.

Fantastic lunch spot out in the suburbs! I was driving by and saw a soup place and had to check it out after enjoying soupbox downtown. If you like a lobster bisque with a LOT of lobster in it, this is the place for you. The MTB (caprese) sandwich was pretty good too but the added wait to get a sandwich probably wasn't worth it. The cup of soup and multigrain bread alone was probably enough! Will definitely be back.

As a Soup Lover I will comment on the food and experience my fiance and I had! Just a couple weeks ago I was craving some simple soup. Looked up reviews on Yelp and Zoup! came up, not too far from Villa Park. Upon going inside the nice ladies behind the counter seemed to be minding their own business(ha literally)! Guess they must get new customers every day and don't want to be pushy! As soon as we went up to the counter to check out the selection behind the glass shield, I was greeted warmly by the cashier. An Establishment's employees are, to me, a huge factor in our customer experience! These ladies did a Fantastic job and made me feel at ease ordering the soup I wanted. The second lady that helped me (I'm sorry, I didn't get any names!) explained that the soup recipes are frequently rotated. Soup: Bought both the smallest size - Cup My first soup was Cheese Burger made for that week! I was offered samples of every single soup if I wanted! Though I chose to have a taste of the cheese burger, which I might add was not salty nor over powering of a bland rue with some processed cheese :P I loved it!! The lady who assisted me with my soup also gave me some quick choices between wheat, whole grain, or sour dough bread rolls to come with each soup(if I remember correctly as I was there over 7 days ago). Spoiler Alert: I chose sour dough!! Fresh bread too, you know fresh for the day :P Chicken Pot Pie is always on the menu By Popular Demand!! Oh, the little pastry crumblies on top were too cute, just enough for every single bite (no pictures as I was too excited to try the soup!) I sure wasn't disappointed. The soup wasn't salty like a normal pot pie usually is! It did taste fresh as opposed to having been sitting there all day long waiting to be purchased! The flavor was simple (exactly what I wanted) and light, quite scrumptious actually! Veggies nice and soft as well as the bite sized chicken. Once more, this review is based on my first impression of this business and its employees!

Check your carry out order before you leave. I ordered a half sandwich, soup, and bread. I was handed the carry out bag. Drove 20 minutes home to find that the sandwich was left out. Who forgets the sandwich. I've had places forget bread or utensils but the sandwich that's the main act. I called hoping that they would make it easy to at least get a credit for my paid sandwich but that went nowhere. So I just sadly sat at my kitchen table and ate my soup. Dipped the bread in the soup and tried to feal full, wasn't working. Sitting reviewing the receipt. Yep my sandwich was on the receipt. I paid for it. So I had to sit there missing my sandwich, I was bummed. So if you're going to risk it at this place I recommend you double check your order. As for me, I'm done, can't handle that kind of sadness. Where's my sandwich? Who forgets the sandwich?

This is an outstanding choice for lunchtime soup-or to take soup home for supper. The selection is usually AWESOME, and the Lobster Bisque is always a huge favorite. The staff isn't super friendly, but all you need to do is make sure you know what you want, then clearly pronounce your words! The food is BTP (Better than Panera). Truthfully, this is a restaurant for SOUP. If you want a salad or a sandwich, those are on their menu, but the featured food is SOUP. They post a new menu daily on their website. Healthy choice for Lunch!

First impression. Location sucks. When you are in a strip plaza w/a couple of stores around you that are vacant is unattractive. Brought my wife for brunch (early evening on a Saturday) and there's only 4 other customers when you can easily fit in 50 empty seats. Hmmm... Over 100 different soups. (I tried their 2 most popular, chicken pot pie & lobster bisque) 1 bowl and 1 cup, no drinks or sandwiches = $15.43 !? That falls under $10 per person but this is still soup we're talking about and soup's main predominant ingredient is water!? It's expensive. If it's only soup you're looking for then it's 4-5 stars. Factor everything else 2 1/2 - 3 stars tops. Compared to a Panera, panera wins w/the atmosphere they provide plus they're more established.

Zoup what a place .i walk in wanting bread and soup it was great.the best part is putting the soup in a bread bowl is great panera bread you don't get a lot for your doller.this is much better place french onion very good .a very good choice of soups and the menu changes a lot. I don't know if you you can by bread there i wil go back and see.i will be back also good service there.

Zoup has the best soups, salads and sandwiches. I've tried a number of different soups. My favorites are the lobster bisque, mushroom bisque and seafood. The soup is paired nicely with a Greek or Caesar salad. Staff is always friendly. I love that they let you taste any of the soups before you decide. This is always a place to visit when I'm in town. Highly recommended.

Went here with my kids and was glad to find an additional seating area in the back, since this place is located near a bunch of offices and was busy with folks on their lunch breaks. All in all, my impression is that our lunch was not a good value. For around $16, we both got the smallest size soup (6oz, I think), half a 4 cheese sandwich, and a piece of multigrain bread. I could have saved some money by ordering him a kids meal instead of a "choose 2" but the kids meals sounded dinky and didn't come with soup (how can you eat here and not have any soup?) The soups we tried were creamy and delicious, though probably not super healthy as another reviewer mentioned. My son had broccoli cheddar and I had Thai chicken. The Thai chicken (tom ka) was as good if not better than what I find at most Thai restaurants. The sandwiches...well, I should have realized that the 4 cheese panini or whatever they call it, is basically a grilled cheese. Grilled cheese can be great and filling, but this was not. While it tasted decent, it was really just bread with a bit of cheese melted on it. We did visit the bathroom, of course. The women's room had a clean changing table, though judging by the signs on the door, I suspect this is one of those places with a changing table only in the women's room and not the men's. So irritating - Dads, what do you do?! I'm sure I'll stop in again, but I'll have to really be in the mood for soup to make it worth it.

Overall not bad, however last few times I've gone I have ordered the Chicken sandwich and there is hardly any chicken on the sandwich at all. The last sandwich I had almost had no chicken and was basically a bread sandwich.

I enjoyed my lunch here, but not across the board. As the name "Zoup!" might suggest, soup is their specialty, though they also have sandwiches and salads. Much like a Panera, they offer a "get two" option that allows you to sample the menu. I took them up on this, getting a cup of Sicilian Pizza Soup and their Veggie-Terranian Sandwich. The soup was incredible, but the sandwich bland and boring. I recommend their soups, and I recommend that you sample several of them before deciding. All of them that I tried and the one I settled on were good. But my one experience with the sandwich menu will only further push me toward the soups in the future.

I was meeting with a friend for lunch in Yorktown area on a cold day. She is a vegetarian. Zoup! showed up on my yelp search under "Restaurant Vegetarian" and I figured it would be nice to have a hot soup. Zoup! looked a smal sized Panera bread. The lobby filled up pretty around the lunch time. You order from the counter and wait they call your name to get the food. When I walked to the counter, the girl asked me if it was my first time. When the answer was yes, she said they have 12 soups daily and asked me if I'd like to try any. Wow, this is nice and quite a few had no meat. I tried a bit of wild mushroom with rice which was pretty good. I eventually settle with the Lobster Bisque which they have everyday while other kinds could change daily. The Lobster Bisque was awesome. Not overly salty and have chucks of lobster meat. I asked the whole wheat bread to go with it. The bread was just the right portion and right firmness for the soup. I loved the whole package. OK, I also ordered the Asian salad. A tiny mistake. I was expecting something like I got from Panera bread with Strawberry pieces or even McDonald's with Mandarian orange pieces. Nope. They put some soft rice noodle, crunch noodles on top of all lettuce and grilled chicken. Well, not my favorite salad. So my soup was a five but salad was a 2. Services was pretty good. Should go back for more soup this winter.

I liked this place with all the soup options .. My 2 year old liked the lobster bisque .. I enjoyed the split green pea with chicken Toscana .. They have a kids menu with pbj, Grilled cheese and soup with a drink and a Bag of goldfish .. They have alot of sandwich options for adults which is nice .. And salads too which I haven't tried yet .

I decided to try this place out on a cold winter day, when I was really craving soup. It's nice that you can try as many samples as you want, but to me, none of the soups were very good. They are all very heavy and very creamy; it's one of those foods you can feel going right to the thighs! I ended up getting a small thing of soup, because I was hungry and didn't want to wait to eat somewhere else. I won't be returning here- Panera is far, far better for the same price.

This is soup central right here. The wife loves soup so she introduced me to this place. I love the fact that they let you taste the soups before you order them. I fell in love with the chicken dumpling, and you can never go wrong with good ole' broccoli cheddar. The sandwiches are also pretty good, but I will say not as good as the other place that rhymes with Banera Pread. I do love the concept, and I wish this place nothing but success. I will be back to try more soup action, that is a guarantee!!!

After hearing about Zoup! I finally decided to go. I have now gone there twice and both of my experiences were great. Now, for a soup lover like me, this place is great. But also for someone who has trouble making decisions, it's a double edged sword. Gladly...they don't care how many samples om you have. I said sorry so many times they probably got sick of saying 'no, it's okay. Have as many samples as you would like.' The first time around, I got a side soup of chili with the loco burrito salad and the second time I had the loco burrito salad with crab and rice soup. Both times were delicious. One of the times, my boyfriend got the cheddar broccoli and it was a but too cheesy but still good. The only downside is that it's slightly pricey. $6 for a cup of soup. The pick two is the best deal in my humble opinion. Either way, I will most likely return for my love of soup. Zoup! hits the spot.

I was short on time and looking for a new place to try so I ran into Zoup. I like all the choices in soup and that you can sample them before buying. Also, they don't have all your average soups. That made it even more interesting. I bought the Corn and Crab Chowder in a bread bowl to go. The one thing I did not like was that they did not have descriptions of their soups or at least from what I saw they did not. I also liked the extra seating in the back. It would make a nice place to meet a group of friends for lunch.

I've been here many times for lunch(since it's close to my work). They have a wide variety of soups and a good selection of sandwiches. Lots of business people go here for lunch. The soups and sandwiches are quite tasty and the staff is always friendly. They will even let you taste the soups before you buy. The only drawback I see is that it is just a bit pricey. All in all, I highly recommend this place for a good lunch.

(3)Jaime S.
(2)Tom D.
(4)Kelly M.
I had a quick lunch here with a client. it was OK, but nothing mind blowing. The soup was solid, but my salad was forgettable and tiny. I had a sourdough roll, which was decent, but nothing earth-shattering. I'd eat here again, but I have to wonder how this place does during the summer.
(3)Jessica T.
(3)Terrence B.
I want to like Zoup. The soups I've had have been quite good and they constantly rotate selections which is a nice change of pace than the ever present 14 value meals you may find else where. The salads were OK. The staff was quite friendly although very obviously canned greetings and responses. I will definitely continue to be a patron.
(3)Glen R.
this place should close as prices are way to high , and zoup Sucks. we were there Yesterday for lunch just two of us and well price for just two soups was over$20. nothing else just soup and bad soup. we will not be coming back. Hope no one ask about your store as we will tell them how bad soup and service was. Thanks for letting us find out now how bad your food is
(1)Tobin h.
(3)Mandy R.
(5)Marie N.
(3)Steve B.
(3)Anthony A.
(2)Jenni E.
(3)Katie L.
(4)C S.
Chicken pot pie soup is excellent. Soup comes with your choice of bread. Had the loco burrito salad. Very tasty and the dressing had a nice kick to it. They do have half and half combos. They let you sample any soup you want. Will definitely go back again. All the employees were friendly.
(4)Eric C.
(3)Erin D.
(2)Adam K.
(5)Eileen G.
I love free sampling all zoups before purchase. Tried the salad/sandwhiches but soup is really the reason to visit here. Make sure to check out the frequent purchase card.
(4)Mindy H.
(5)Carmella P.
(2)Marissa G.
(4)Andy G.
(4)Jayasri V.
Love everything about this place, Great soups, Awesome Salads and Sandwiches. Perfect lunch option if you ask me. Very friendly service. Go here, Now! :)
(5)Tina E.
Online ordering too
(5)Sati V.
Lots of variety for a veggie lover. And the menu keeps changing every day.
(5)Chris M.
Was waiting for this place to open as it's still cold out & soup is awesome in that weather. Unfortunately both soupos my brother & I tried were VERY salty. I agree with the reviewer who said they were most likely frozen soups. Won't try this again.
(2)Jerrod M.
its a nice concept......but i mean, whats great about warmed up frozen soup? its CLEARLY frozen....subway has soup too.....(i dont go to subway btw!) but then the real sticker is the price!!!! i spent $15 on frozen soup and an airport salad (you know the kind!) not impressed. they werent busy so i had a chance to chat with the manager who confided in me he makes less than $11/ hour......isnt there a chef there? at least panera (also not a huge fan!) has people that have experience cooking... another place thatll come n' go.....people here want fresh!!!!!
(2)Joseph J.
(5)Kathleen M.

(2)Mallory F.
(4)Mike P.
(1)Mike G.
I like Zoup. They let you sample a soup before you purchase it, they have a good variety and some unique ones too. Their Panini's are pretty good to. It's sort of like Panera I guess but a little better but still a bit pricey for what you're getting.
(4)Kristi E.
This place is amazing! Great service, food, and atmosphere.

Just got back from our first trip to Zoup. I have to say I was very impressed. We normally frequent Panera when we want a sandwich and soup. But, we decided to give something different a try. When you first walk in, they ask you if you have ever been there and if you would like to sample any of the soups. And, they don't get angry if you sample multiple soups. They actually encourage you to try many of the flavors. While there, we sampled the Lobster Bisque, Chicken Pot Pie, Chili, Tomato Spinach & Brown Rice, Cheddar Potato, and Spicy Crab. We actually loved all of them. Well, I didn't like the crab, but my fiancé did. I ended up with the half Tomato Spinach soup and half loco burrito greenz salad. My fiancé got the half chicken pot pie soup and half turkey club sandwich. We were both very impressed with our meals. Actually, on the way home, we said to eachother several times how much we enjoyed our meals. The price was pretty comparable to what you would spend at Panera. We will definitely return in the future.

(4)Richard B.

(4)Morris N.
I like soups and all different kinds so to have a place like Zoup! close by is awesome! On this visit I tried the New England clam chowder and a turkey club. Both were good and reasonably priced. Service is always good. You can also get in and out quickly if you are in a hurry for lunch.
(4)Rebecca R.

(3)Bryan B.
Great concept is you want a quick lunch that isn't fast food. They make over 100 soups, but rotate 12 in each day. Serviced with bread. Best choice is sour dough. Side salads were a bit weak.
(3)Kavi P.

(1)Christina C.
(5)Jay J.
(3)Han W.
(5)Alana H.

(2)Tim L.
Overall not bad, however last few times I've gone I have ordered the Chicken sandwich and there is hardly any chicken on the sandwich at all. The last sandwich I had almost had no chicken and was basically a bread sandwich.
(3)Alex B.
(3)Jie S.
(4)Christin N.
(4)Tiffany P.
(2)Peter R.
(3)Jacki A.
(4)Shelly N.
(4)Carl D.
