This place is awesome! It's kind of a hole in the wall but wow the food was great. The all you can eat crab legs drew me in for only 21.95! All the waitresses were extremely helpful and very cheery! The crab legs though;they were amazing. They weren't like the cheap Chinese buffet crab legs, they were more of red lobster quality! Would recommend this to any one looking for good food with a good atmosphere.

Had a very good patty melt and fries. Apple pie was fresh. Friendly service. Reasonable prices. Overall, definitely worth checking out.

Nice diner food . I had the fried chicken and they got a scald on that bird. My friend got the cabbage rolls and they were pretty good. Overall decent home cookin style food at a reasonalbe price.

I've been eating vegetarian since last November and my favorite sandwich is a Reuben made with beets in place of corned beef. I've eaten the amazing portobello mushroom sandwich and veggie omlettes but today I asked if they would make me a beet Reuben. Of course, they did and it was delicious! Hot and cheesy. Perfect crunch. Homemade blueberry - peach pie for dessert. The food and the people there are awesome!! Very accommodating of different dietary requests. Thanks again, Whistlestop, for a great lunch!

All you can eat crab legs on Fridays. I ate 5 plates of delicious crab without being judged and was encouraged by the wait staff. Servers were excellent and always ready to provide good conversation with a smile always on their face. Well deserved 5 stars.

First off let me say there food is good!! Home cooked food you can tell is not out of a box! Very decent prices! So your probably asking your self why the one star! Well it's waitress she was rolled her eyes made my family feel like we were inconvenience her when asked her for things no refills! Plates left in front us while we chatted for a bit. then to top it off she got into agruement with another waitress right in front of us. The other girl we have had and is very nice Katy I felt so bad for her that I felt this review was justified! Need to evaluate staff!! But my Portobello mushroom sandwich was awesome and my country fried steak was good too!! Are friends food looked great too!

A great little place to stop and eat a delicious meal at an incredible price. They serve alcohol for those who want to have a quick beer while waiting for their meal. The staff is courteous, attentive and seemed friendly. Small gatherings would be ok as well. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the place is dated, but looked clean. I would recommend this place. Even the other diners were nice and it has a great small town atmosphere. I can't wait to try the biscuits and gravy for breakfast.

Very delicious! Very good place to stop at on the way home from a road trip. Today is Sunday and there is a breakfast buffet. It's very good!

This little place has one of the best rib-eye steaks I've ever had, We have a cottage a few miles from here and we make a point of stopping by for this steak as often as we can. Back when I worked for a big company in downtown Chicago, I had a corporate card and lots of leniency on my expense reports, so I've tried many of the big steak joints many times. This rib-eye they serve here matches and beats most of the expensive well known steak restaurants. I'm not sure what they do that is different from other Mom and Pop places but it is phenomenal. You can order the rib-eye as it comes or increase the size by the inch for a small extra charge per inch. The rest of the food here is good. I've never had a bad meal when I do decide to have something other than the steak. The fried chicken is pretty damn good too. Once I did get my fried appetizer platter with a couple still partially frozen fried mushrooms. I got over it once they brought me a fully cooked platter to replace it. The pace is definitely a little slower here as is the pace at every other business in a smallish town.

I love the Whistle Stop - it serves the best breakfast food in the area. There's nothing too surprising on the menu, it has the usual family restaurant items, but the quality and taste is far better than most breakfast spots. I love the spinach and feta omelet with the hash browns. The hash browns are always cooked just right.

We order out a lot from here. You know the mornings that you get up alittle late and don't want to make breakfast for the kids. Food is always very good service is always friendly. Haven't had a bad experience yet with this place.

Great little place to stop on a road trip. Seems to be real food, not prepackaged; corn chowder was excellent. Great friendly service, nothing too surprising on the menu, good Midwestern food. We'd definitely come back if we pass this way again.

This is one of the local restaurants in our area that we frequent from time to time. My wife loves their portabello mushroom sandwich. I have grown fond of their chicken salad sandwich. Good food.

Nice little local place with genuinely awesome French fries! The service is helpful and friendly--great place to stop for a bite.

Roadside stop off 55 for lunch. Food was passable, service the same but a little surely. Not the cleanest place. Both meals came with a hair (but just one each). A bit of fly activity to liven things up as well. Unlikely to make this stop again.
