Tried take out from here last night after our other dinner plans fell through. Overall pleasantly surprised. The egg rolls were really nice - light and crispy. The potstickers were also very good. Fried rice was fine. I tried the Pad See Ew - which in their defense I have never had before - but was very underwhelmed. It was not very flavorful, very light on the veggies and the noodles were clumped together. Not really what I expected. We ordered the Chicken Terryiaki (which I realize is a Japanese dish but we needed something without peanuts and not spicy) for the kids and they liked it ok but I thought the chicken was a little dried out and the sauce was a little too sweet. We will try them again - maybe a curry or basil chicken next time.

Excellent! Obsessed with their Tom kha soup.

Pretty darn good! The Satay chicken was thick and moist, the peanut sauce was good. Pretty cheap since it was byob. $55 for 4 entrees and 3 apps.....pad se ew and pad thai. Everyone enjoyed what they had. I think I will try the evil jungle curry next time. We will definitely go back.

Wow, I'm impressed. Tonight I ordered carry-out from Thai Square, and I forgot to ask for no egg. My fault, not theirs. When I am at home eating my food, they call me up to tell me they forgot to hold the egg. "No, that's OK," I said. "I forgot to ask you to do it; it isn't your fault. I'll just eat around it." Then they insisted that they should have remembered that I ask for it that way--which they actually did, albeit after I already had the food. I was amazed when they offered to make me a new one! I thanked them but said that was OK, they didn't have to do that. The woman on the phone promised to remember for me next time, if I forget. Seriously. I have been/am a regular at several restaurants. Never has the staff at any other establishment called me up and offered to make me a new dish because they didn't correct me when I ordered my own food wrong. That is some insane dedication, right there. This place also has so many regulars that I can't imagine how they remember us all, down to our dietary preferences. Just...wow.

Went here last week with my girlfriend food was very good and affordable. We got the crab Rangoon which was delicious, but I thought it was weird that it came as 5 pieces instead of an even/easily split able number. For entrees we got the pad ki Mao and an order of orange chicken. Food was very good and server was attentive. Dinner and appetizer was less than $30 including tip so that was also a plus. Will definitely be back!

I had drunken noodles with chicken. Food was really good, quick service. The place was pretty cute, but we were a little sketched out because the restaurant was empty on the Wednesday we were in there. Several groups came in for pick up orders though. Definitely a good amount of food for the price!

Thai Square has been around since '08 in downtown Des Plaines. The restaurant offers appetizers, soup, salads, noodles, fried rice, curries, entrees, lunch specials, and desserts. Some friends and I came here for an early dinner and were seated right away. I had the Pad See Ewe with the chicken, but was disappointed with the dish - the noodles were terribly overcooked, doubling its size due to the engorgement of water; while the chicken was plentiful and the flavor was pretty good, the undercooked broccoli and the overcooked noodles made it more on the unappetizing end. My friends had the Pad Thai, and even that dish contained overcooked noodles. I really liked the plate of complimentary persimmons you receive with your check, which gives you a nice little ending to your meal. The place itself is not too big, and it seems to be a local favorite for lunch. I'm glad I was able to check this place out, but not sure if I'd go back! +overcooked noodles T___T +complimentary persimmons with the check +friendly staff +street parking available

Thai food fanatic and I must say food was ok. Service was the worst part of the experience. Waitress was unattentive and rude when I told her the Thai Tea she brought me didn't even have tea in it. I said it just tasted like sugar and milk and some aftertaste of premade syrup. She said just put water in it. After I told her I didn't want it she still never took it or removed from bill. Then one of my other guest at our table never received their meal and after several attempts to get the waitress to come over ...she never really cared to fix the issue other than saying we must of had bad communication. Bad service, and worst Thai tea ever.

Best Thai place in the burbs. When I lived in Des Plaines, I ordered takeout from here at least once a week. I never shied away from my standard chicken pad thai and chicken satay because they are just that good. I heart the mini cucumber salad that comes with the chicken satay. I love the way they cut the edges of the cucumbers and the dressing is unexpected and light. I just wish the portion was bigger! That satay is great as well. Perfectly cooked and seasoned chicken on a skewer and bomba$$ peanut sauce. Again, only complaint is that the dipping portion is too small so I usually end up just slathering the sauce on the chicken with a knife (or my finger...). The chicken pad thai is only $8 a serving. Seriously. That's it. And it is enough for 2-3 meals. I consider this dish an investment for that reason. Bonus: this stuff makes for great cold morning after leftovers. Or maybe I'm weird and just love eating cold leftovers. I've never eaten in, but it looks like a nice place for a quiet BYOB meal where you can catch up with friends. I've also noticed they have an area of items that will keep kids occupied during their meal. Super friendly cashier/staff. My takeout orders are always ready within 10 minutes of ordering. Love this place.

This place is easy to find - right in the heart of downtown Des Plaines next to the theater. I came here for lunch on a Friday with some co-workers. The place feels cozy and had adequate seating for the lunch rush. They have lunch specials for $6.95, which includes the dish and appetizer of the day (which in our case was an eggroll). I ordered the standard for me when I try new thai places - pad see ewe. I enjoyed my dish and there was plenty of it. The noodles were cooked well and weren't too heavy, greasy, or mushy. The one star was knocked off only for the amount of chicken I had on my plate - there could have been more. My coworkers ordered the spicy basil and pad kee mao and both liked their meals. Overall a solid place for lunch, take out, or dinner. I noticed dinner-sized noodle dishes are around $7.95 or so, depending on the dish, which seems pretty reasonable.

Flavorless food. Poor service. Waitresses stand around chatting instead of filling waters or clearing plates or checking on customers. Our table still had dirty dishes on it when we left. We had to get up and ask for our check. Chicken in the dishes appeared to have been boiled earlier in the day then added to previously cooked vegetables and then some sauce dumped on top. It's clear the food is not freshly prepared. They didn't even bother to toss the sauce in with the food. Chicken and vegetables were not seasoned at all and sauces were bland bland bland. This place ranks as one of our worst dining experiences ever!

Haven't found a good Thai Place in the Rosemont area where I work and this place isn't that far away, just about a 10 minute drive to downtown Des Plaines. Easy to Find Parking, Free at that! They have great lunch specials that come with an Egg Roll, very light crispy and delicous. I ordered the Chicken Pad Thai Spicy and it was hot and full of flavor and fresh! I dined with my sister and she ordered the brown rice, fried tofu and peanut sauce. She loved it! Service is ok, nothing special, but nothing bad. Can't complain. We will be back!

For this area, this Thai place gets a 3.5 but realistically it's more of a 2.9 compared to all the Thai places I've had the pleasure of tasting. The food is tasty and the service is quick, but unless I have an immediate Thai craving, I'll wait until I'm near my Thai fav's.

Thai Square is SO GOOD. I got the lunch special pad kee mao with chicken, which was only $6.95 and the portion was enormous. I could have easily ended up with leftovers for another meal, but I just as easily ate it all because it was so delicious. My dish was cooked perfectly and had great flavor. Service was fast and friendly. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

Counting value this is a 5. They have the best green curry I have ever had. The pad kee Mao is also delicious. As far as appetizers the crispy won tons and egg rolls are both good. BYOB also!

Came here last night for a quick bite to eat. Strangely, the restaurant smelled a bit like a fish tank, although I did not notice any fish tanks around. I ordered panang curry, which is my standard Thai dish. I asked for vegetables only, but received chicken instead, so it is a good thing I am not a strict vegetarian. Very few vegetables were in the bowl, and no tofu at all, which made me realize just how important the tofu is to this dish, as it is necessary to soak up the juices for consumption in a solid form. My husband got some orange chicken and crab rangoon. Both were pretty good, although the crab rangoon "shell" was different from the norm, more like a very smooth fried wonton. My brother-in-law got the pad thai, which I didn't try, but he ate it all so it must have been okay. Overall, this was not my favorite Thai food experience.

We ordered on a sunday night at about 5:30 for delivery. The food took over 2.5 hours to arrive. We were told at the time of order that it was going to take about an hour. After 90 min I called and the guy on the phone clearly came up with the first excuse that popped into his head (driver is having car problems). He said he would call back in 10 min. No call, so about 20-30 min later I called again and he answered the phone telling me he was supposed to call me back (wtf?). He says the food is on the way, I asked if it was even still warm, he assured me they just made everything and that he was also throwing in a free edamame. My assumption is that the order never went in or was delivered to the wrong person. The driver shows up, and we didnt tip much, and after explaining why, he still gave us a really bad attitude and was bitching all the way to the car. I really wanted to like this place, and I may give it a 2nd chance, but it was overall a very poor experience. The "free" edamame was undercooked, and they forgot to include an additional side order of rice.

Excellent Thai food in downtown Des Plaines. The Pad Thai that I ordered was excellent. A good spot for a good Thai dinner.

Average at best. Employees are always very nice, which is good. They have most typical Thai standards (pad thai, pad si ew, etc) No massaman curry is a disappointment. The pad thai, which any Thai restaurant worth anything should be able to pull off quite easily, left MUCH to be desired. VERY VERY oily/greasy. I understand Pad thai is NOT a healthy dish, & DOES use a decent amount of oil- but not to the point it's basically sitting in oil. The chicken satay is pretty good-but its basically grilled chicken w peanut sauce. not too rough.. also tried a few of their curries on offer. Decent, but i wouldnt say "really good". Altogether- an ok place if u are stuck in area..and reallllllly crave thai. There are much better options fairly close in the area by a quick drive however.

This review is based solely on their delivery. Based on all the reviews on Yelp, I decided to order from Thai Square, and yelp reviews usually never disappoint... until now. I had the beef salad and the vegetable tom yum soup. The beef salad was very underwhelming. Lackluster and not very flavorful. The beef was dry and a bit tough. The tom yum soup was the only thing good..although it could have used more vegetables. Sad to say, but I will not be back.

Ever since our favorite Thai restaurant, Thai Classic on Clark Street, closed sadly due to a fire in 2012, we have been searching for another Thai restaurant. We have been passing by this one on the way to work so finally, we decided to give it a try. We saw it got 4 out of 5 starts rating on Yelp so figured it was worth it. After eating there, we have no idea where those 4 out of 5 starts came from. We ordered the combination plate of appetizers, and everything was dried out. You could tell they had been frozen and they just were quickly defrosted and thrown in the deep fryer, they were not fresh at all. My dish was chicken lad nar, and the sauce was disgusting. It had a burnt flavor, tasted like they had used old, burnt oil to fry the lad nar noodles in. It was over powering of the whole dish. My husband got chicken yellow curry with a side of fried rice. The rice had no flavor at all, not even salt and the curry was watered down. Thai curry is supposed to be thick and creamy. It was like eating flavorless soup. When we told the waiter what we thought of the food, he just shrugged and was like oh really? He didn't even offer us alternate dishes. We wound up having to pay $40 for food we couldn't even finish. They did not even offer us a discount. It was so disappointing. We will never go to this restaurant again. This food is not authentic Thai food. My husband is a professional cook and we are experienced in food preparation and what authentic Thai food should taste like and this is NOT it. The food was not fresh, flavorless and on top of it, they used a microwave to heat it up because we could hear it beeping. You go to a restaurant for fresh, prepared to order dishes, not microwaved food with little to know effort placed in preparation. Consider yourself warned. A better alternative to this place is Panda Express! That food is at least fresh and full of flavor, not to mention cheaper!

Lunch at Thai Square today... Service was polite and efficient. Menu was large and included around 15 items at a discounted "lunch" price. Maybe it was a different menu than others? Plenty to choose from...noodles, rice (steamed, white, brown), curries, chicken, beef, seafood, tofu etc... Plenty of apps to start you off if you're hungry too. Tried the Pineapple Curry with Tofu and was very impressed. The pineapple was sweet and resonated perfectly throughout the dish. Combined with coconut milk and some extra chiles for heat, the dish really took off. Fresh cut red and green peppers added color, and my side of brown rice was cooked to par. Nothing at all to complain about here....Great food, great prices, decent location, and quiet, relaxing atmosphere. It's my go-to Thai restaurant in the area, hands down.

Okay--open letter to every Thai restaurant in the Northwest Suburbs: Please, please do not let the pre-cooked chicken in your Tom Yum grow old. Or, better yet, go ahead, let it grow old and then THROW IT OUT!!! I've had it. Not one, not one decent Thai restaurant between Des Plaines and Palatine? Really? NO MORE MUSTY CHICKEN, OKAY? They had the best Thai Iced Tea ever. Everything else was sub-standard.

I was really disappointed with this place. I was craving spring rolls, and my expectations weren't THAT high... I just wanted a decent spring roll, nothing fancy. Unfortunately, the spring roll was just not good. The sauce was way too sweet and tasted perfumey. It was gross. We got the tom kha soup next, and that was another disappointment. Way too sweet. I got the drunken noodles, and they were a bit better than the soup and spring roll, but still just too sweet, and I couldn't help feeling like it was just drowning in MSG. It just had a weird chemical taste to it. The ingredients seemed to be pretty poor quality. Also, the service was awful! We waited a long time to order, to get our appetizer, between courses, and at the end, my husband had to walk the check back up to the counter because we were sick of waiting for it to get picked up! I would not come back here and I wouldn't recommend it.

This place is a small easy to miss place but it's worth stopping by. I LOVE their Pad See Ew (flat rice noodles stir fried with egg and brocolli. This menu option is available during lunch hours as well during the week. During lunch hours it's $6.95 and includes an appitzer. The servers are super nice here and welcoming. Another plus is that it's B.Y.O.B.

I love Thai. Naturally, a lot of my reviews are of thai restaurants. Well, I've been to this one three times now and every time the experience has been fresh, flavorful, clean, and pleasant. It's one of those little hole-in-the-wall places, but clean. I was just here 2 days ago with a date. I had my usual of egg rolls and pad woon sen with beef and shrimp (spicy). My date had the teriyaki chicken (She suggested we go back here when discussing where to go when we went out again.). I've also had the fried rice dishes and other appetizers such as the shu mai, pot stickers, and Crab Rangoon. Everything is at a premium here. Worth a trip from Chicago!

Impeccably clean, reasonably priced, very good Thai food, not very crowded. . .more locals need to visit and keep this place going. If you have never tried Thai food, this might be a good place to start.

We take-out order Thai Square frequently. It's pretty good for a weekday quickie meal. Unfortunately, my favorite Thai dish (Panang Curry) is not done well here at all! WAH! But of course, we keep coming back!

Conveniently located right across the Des Plaines Public Library where i was studying for an exam. Got hungry so decided to check out this place on my way home. Ordered Chicken Pad Thai and Wonton Soup. It was alright. Nothing special about their Pad Thai except they serve a lot! Nothing wrong with that, now! The place is very neat and clean, friendly cashier. Parking can be a b!tch though because it's in a side street (only 4 available parking space there because it's close to the bus station) So that can be a challenge. For a better tasting Pad Thai dish, i highly recommend Lai Thai in Morton Grove or Siam's House in Niles (Milwaukee Ave.) Pad Thai Restaurant in Mount Prospect (S. Elmhurst Avenue) serves a delicious Pad Thai dish as well.

Really really great Thai food. Defintely the best in the area, but you have to eat in the restaurant. And why wouldn't you? It has a nice fresh atmosphere and efficient friendly service. Over the years I have occasionally ordered to-go, though not in awhile. And I've been underwhelmed by their pad thai at Taste of Des Plaines which had way too much soy sauce. However, dining-in was a welcome surprise. On my recent visit, my husband and I shared an order of spring rolls that were beautiful and so fresh and yummy. Tasted like they were pulled fresh from the garden. Great peanut sauce too. The best I've ever had. Really, the best. Loved them. I also enjoyed my pad see eiuw. This slightly sweet noodle dish complimented perfectly with my husband's order of the nicely spicey shrimp dish I've forgotten the name of. Truly a perfect Thai meal in downtown Des Plaines. And it's BYOB!

I TRIED - Tom Yum (9/10) - Penang Curry (9/10) - Pad Kee Mao (9/10) Celebrating a birthday, we were planning to go to Pho Dung Gia, just a few doors down, but found out that they closed at 4 on Sundays. Well, our group of 13 walked there from a friend's house, so we didn't want to turn back. It was either Japanese or Thai, but since Thai was closer, that was our choice! It's a small place. The 13 of us combined 4 or 5 tables together, which was about 2/3 of the place. The service is very accommodating. The sister of the birthday girl baked some cakes and bought ice cream, and they happily refrigerated it for us while we ate. They also provided bowls and spoons when it was time for dessert. TOM YUM This was probably the best Tom Yum I've ever had in terms of flavor, but, maybe it was an execution thing, I ordered Extra Spicy, and it only had a small kick. The sourness was so beautifully balanced. It pushed the sour limits as far as possible to gather all the flavors, but without being overbearing. It was a risky move, but damn did they get it right! Also, different places have different levels of "land mines" as I like to call it, which are ingredients that are there for flavoring, but are not to be eaten. For example, I find a lot of ginger, and some inedible vegetable skins sometimes that I'm picking out of my mouth, but the only complain I had here are that the onion slices were bigger than I had seen before, and although not landmines, affected my texture a bit. But if only it was a sweat inducing spice like I asked for, this may have been the holy grail Tom Yum I've been looking for! PENANG CURRY My other dish to rate a Thai place...First thing I noticed about my friend's Red curry was that it was really watery. I was hoping it was an execution mistake, but unfortunately, mine came out just as watery. I'm really not a fan of that, but oh well. But here's the thing. The flavor of this Penang was on par with Dan Thai in Schaumburg, IL. The one thing that they did, that I just thought was not possible because of the coconut milk, was that they got the "Extra Spicy" PERFECT! It was a magnificent burn! Sweat inducing, mouth watering...oh my god, was it perfect! It was so good, I was almost forgetting about the wateryness...almost. Also, sometimes, when I order extra spicy, it's not this spicy, but you can almost explicitly taste the extra peppers that they put in, and it affects the flavor some. Nope, not here! I don't know how, but they managed to mask the taste of the extra peppers, but delivering an awesome heat! Portion was perfect too! Also, what's nice, is that it didn't have a lot of the previously mentioned "land mines." That makes this some excellent comfort food! Filling, sweat inducing, and no need to dodge land mines. I love it! PAD KEE MAO I've never had this before, but I just had a taste of my friend's. I love Pad See Ew, so the wide rice noodles were very welcome. She also ordered it "Extra Spicy," and I was really impressed with how well they got the spicy to linger on every single noodle! The chicken may have been a tiny bit dry, but the extra spice made your mouth water to cover that anyway! The seasoning could have had a tiny dash extra, but it was fine as it was. I'm still just so impressed with how well they did Extra Spicy on this one. It wasn't a flavored spice, though. It was a stealth spice. You'd eat noodle and chicken and wonder why your mouth was burning. You never tasted the spice, it just happened. AND? In terms of Thai food and spice, this is a restaurant "after my own heart." They perfected the spice on both the Penang Curry and the Pad Kee Mao, but I don't know why they didn't get it right on the Tom Yum. My favorite thing about this place, and maybe it makes it not so authentic, but I don't care, is that in all the dishes, there weren't "land mines." I have to spend too many brain cells at some restaurants fishing out leaves, chili peppers, ginger, and the like, that it takes away from the experience. I like that I can sit down, order food, sweat, and leave happy. Great job guys! Oh, and the next time I'm in the area, it's going to be hard deciding between Pho Dung Gia, and Thai Square!

Absolutely amazing Thai cuisine. I have never been craving Thai food until I tried this restaurant. My mother-in-law is from Thailand and she wouldn't just eat whatever. She said that the restaurant is really authentic and the food is great. I live nearby and go there quiet often. Every meal I tried so far was beyond expectations. I highly recommend this restaurant for people that want to try REAL Thai food.

My husband really likes this restaurant! In particular he BBQ pork fried rice. I agree, it is very yummy. I love their Tom kha gai soup which is simply delicious and complex. Being from Michigan we do not frequent this restaurant as often as we would like, therefore we have been unable trying more dishes. When we do, I will definitely update.

Tried this place a couple of months ago and noticed that the Yelp reviews were very positive. And boy were those reviews off. I ordered the Pad Thai and was very disappointed. It tasted very bland and underwhelming. Very discouraged and still hopeful to find a good Thai restaurant in Des Plaines, IL.

If you are in the area, this is a yummy Thai spot to check out. It can be easily missed though when driving. One time I came with a girlfriend who has Celiac, but our waitress was able to help us find a Gluten Free option for her she ended up loving! It's a small place, but very accommodating.. definitely recommend.

This place is great! Have eaten here or taken out at least 20 times. Never had anything that was bad. In fact, all the different dishes we have had, I would consider a high end example of how each traditional dish should be made. Great for carry out or dining in. Absolutely love their Tom Yum!

A solid Thai joint in Des Plaines. Is it spectacular and something to go out of your way for? No, but if your near the area and have a hankering for Thai or looking for something new than this place should do the trick. I've gotten food from here a couple of times now and each time everything has been solidly good, nothing to write home about but definetly satisfying. I love the atmosphere here the most, very cozy with a nice neighborhood vibe. I've seen people studying here or kicking back for a relaxed meal. Definetly a nice place to chill at.

This building used to house a Chinese place, and not a good one. Now that it is Thai Square; yippee that I have a good Thai restaurant in my neighborhood! After two dining experiences, I can say we will keep going as long as the food quality doesn't diminish. Meals we tried: Shrimp pad thai - excellent Beef pad thai beef pad see eiw - quite good cucumber salad - not enough egg rolls -not greasy and delish Thai coffee - usual The owner ?/waitress is very pleasant and accomodating and the decor is nice. They offer take out, but this is a sit down restaurant foremost. We stopped in again about a week after our first experience and saw that we were not the only repeat customers. Reasonable prices. I recommend they get that Bold's Chinese sign down fast as I, and no doubt others, thought that place stunk. Why doesn't Yelp allow quotation marks? Amended 5/28 YUMMMY potstickers!!!!

At times I'm usually waiting for the train to go home from work. And at times the latest train comes at about an hour and a half...so I didn't want to wait that long and decided to try some food around the area, as Des Plaines was relatively new for me at the time. It was either between here or Leona's and I've had Leona's before...plus I like trying new things. I went into here and was greeted right away, which is nice and worth a star. There were a couple people in there with their children, so it was a lively atmosphere. The menu was fairly reasonable and everything looked great, along with pricing too. I only have a few complaints and one is the resturant was too quiet. It would have been nice to have some mellow music to go along with the vibe it looks like they're aiming for. Also, while I was eating my meal (which they have tasty potstickers!), I ultimately felt as if I was being watched while eating. Which made me feel very uncomfortable. My final complaint is that it felt very cold in there, I had to eat with my winter coat on...which it's very uncomfortable eating with a bulky winter coat! Would I go back here? Definitely, the staff is nice and the food and pricing is great too. Pros: Great prices and lunch specials Friendly and attentive staff Cons: A bit too cold at times Sometimes you would catch staff gaping for prolonged periods of time

I wasn't really a fan of the food here. The portions are sub-large. The food was so-so. Not amazing but ok. I guess what most people see is they never actually tried good thai food.

mmmm....everyone else seems to love this place...... The best and only thing they have going for them is that they deliver. In Des Plaines this apparently is big deal. One day I had delivered sweet and sour chicken and the beef fried rice. I found that the s and s chicken was sub par. I did enjoy the beef fried rice tho. If you can get past whoever answers the phone and they actually take down your order and you get it. You will be pleasantly suprised. It came exactly when they said it would. (that gets 3 stars)

Thai Square is pretty decent, and it's one of the better places in downtown Des Plaines. I'm not a big fan of Thai food as I find it generally bland and Thai Square wasn't really an exception, so when I'm at Thai restaurants like these I order my food spicy and prepare to never taste things again - because that's where the real fun in Thai food is. Try it! (Thai it!)

This place serves authentic Thai food! We've been several times and are always extremely pleased. Portion sizes are always good, full of flavor and make great left overs! I love that they make your order fresh! It always makes me happy to support a local small business like this.

I'm not a big fan of the Chinese restaurants that are in Des Plaines. So i was quite skeptical of Thai food being any better. Turns out.. this place has very good food. They are definitely not getting the amount of business that a place like this deserves. Check it out!

I heart this place. I heart this place a little too much according to my waistline. Having moved from California, land of the BEST Thai restaurant in the world (Juanthong Bambua) we were sadly disappointed at the lack of good Thai food in Des Plaines. We were warily excited to see a new Thai restaurant opening across from the Metra station, teasing us with the hopes of good, yummy, delicious food. We patiently waited for it to open and when it did we practically pressed our windows to the glass, drooling while they unlocked the doors. Despite my salivating hopes that it would be incredible, I was wary and thought back to the disappointments we suffered before. Now I know that worry was for naught. While the food here isn't the same as our favorite place, it is still wonderful and mouthwatering and delectable. I've tried their Pad Thai with Tofu, the Pad Kee Mow (sp), the combination appetizer (fried spring roll, crab ragoon, fried wonton with some kind of curry filling and potstickers), flaming beef, chicken satay, panag curry, and spring rolls. We eat here almost weekly and I often grab a to-go order to bring to one of my night art classes. The owner is wonderful and very sweet. She loves to talk about her homeland and about all of the ingredients she brings from there. The place itself is really quaint. It's not large but decorated simply and clean. Oh and did I mention they now deliver!?!?!?! Yes, that is a choir of angels you hear singing. Definitely try this place if you're in the area. They have lunch specials as well. I want them to do well since business seems to be taking a bit to pick up according to the owner. I want them to stay around for a LONG time!

Dreadful even for the burbs. Not close to decent Thai. Everything loaded with sugar so no Thai flavors show up. The staff are somewhere else. The Vietnamese nearby is decent.

I've been a huge Thai food fan since visiting a great place in Boston, but I'm having a hard time recreating that experience. This will suffice and is above average. Prices aren't too bad. I had beef with broccoli, rice and crab rangoon for $15 before tip. We took it to go. While I didn't find it to be the best it's a lot better than just about any other Asian food you're going to find in the area.

My boyfriend and I wanted to try something new in Des Plaines. So we found this place and while I was impressed by the decor I wasn't impressed by the food. It's a nice sit down place that appears to take true pride in the culture. Unfortunately the food just didn't do it for me. I had the Mongolian Beef Mild and there wasn't any spice in it. Not even a hint of it. Sure the waiter brought over some spices, but he didn't tell us what they were or what would work well with our meal. The plate was also filled with more juice than food. The meat also lacked flavor. Although I was not thrilled with my main meal I must say that the Egg Rolls are WONDERFUL! They look small, but three egg rolls at $3 is a steal. Not to mention and they were so GOOD! I would go back there just for the egg rolls because they were just that good! Waiter Service: Could have been better. My boyfriend ordered hot tea and I ordered a water. He brought the hot tea, but failed to bring the water at the same time. He brought the egg rolls, but failed to bring the plates at that time. Although he did bring them moments later. There was no how was your meal ?or thank you come again. Nope we got nothing like that. He didn't even offer us a dessert menu. Would he have done that we would have at least ordered one. Price: I expected better quality food for the price I paid. What I mean is that I at least expected the meal to be warm and of better quality.

Ok, so we have basically given up on trying new Thai places, because for the most part they are cookie cutter places that serve bland 'chinese' style food. There are no authentic ingredients to be found, and you cannot tell what Asian country your dish is supposed to be from. So my hoper were not high when we passed by Thai Square one evening. But since i was so hungry, and feeling adventurous, i decided why not, lets roll em and see what happens. The place is pretty small, with nice decor, nothing special or fancy. Fine with me, as i would prefer to eat sitting on a milk crate with a cardboard box as my table if the food was good. It did take a little bit for the waitress to come out, but she apologized quickly. They look to be doing a good takeout business. For food we ordered: Chicken tom yum - Average/good. Not great, as it was a bit sweet for the both of us, and lacked any fresh lemongrass or cilantro. Decent sized bowl though. Egg rolls - These were pretty good. Nice and crispy, with the ultra thin wrapper. But then again egg rolls in thai places are almost always a sure winner. evil jungle curry - I am not sure what makes this different from their regular jungle curry, but flavor wise it was pretty good. The main problem with this dish though was that it was served with thin pad thai noodles in it. This presented an eating problem as the curry was very soupy, and it made eating the noodles very hard. pad khee mao - This was the dish that i ordered. It was tasty, with plenty of flavor. I had asked for it extra spicy, and as usual it was not very hot at all. But no big deal, because we asked for hot peppers and that included a ground up pepper powder which WAS hot, so after sprinking that all over the dish i was happy with the heat level. The vegetables were cooked nicely, with a bit of crunch still there, which was a nice contrast to the soft noodles. We both decided we would come back and try other things, as our first encounter warrants giving it another go, whereas most places get crossed off the return again list.

Very nice location. . Nicely decorated and friendly hostess. I will definately come back to this place but I have some comments about the PR/Service. The first thing I want to say is "thank you" for pointing out that we ordered too much food. My bother and I are big but you helped us save money by saying two soups was too much and could be shared. With all the other food we ordered, that was kind of you. Now, my comments, please don't wait until you have a line of people waiting for their table to open the upstairs area. Its not fair to those few people that are waiting for a table. I know there is a lot of talk and special instructions about eating the dumplings being juicy but I don't understand why when the dumplings are so small and they are no bigger then a mouthful. BTW, to the female server who dropped the check off list, I was being a gentlemen by picking up the list so you wouldn't have to bend down with your tray. Yes, you thanked me afterwards, but you will scare away men if you insist on picking it up yourself next time.

Im visiting the area and really wanted Thai in my hotel room, after calling several places, Thai Square delivered!! It took a few minutes for my bf to explain to the man on the other end of the phone that we were staying in a hotel and that we don't live here. After that initial confusion they had all the food we wanted to get (we had to guess, there was no menu in the phonebook). The food came before they had said it was, so that was a plus. The food looked nothing like I expected, the spring rolls looked like sushi rolls but were so delicious. I also had the sweet and sour chicken and it was great as well. A little soupy, but just dip the rice in it and it's great. My boyfriend got the yellow curry with beef, it was supposed to be really spicy but it wasn't as spicy as he likes his food. That happens a lot at other Asian restaurants though, it's never spicy enough for him. Overall, it was great food at a great price and they delivered to us right to our hotel room door!

Have ordered delivery from them about 5 times over the past 18 months. Not impressed with the food compared to the price. Decent taste, but I live very close to the restaurant and they give me a hard time about delivery. Twice I have had missing items from the delivery order and it was more expensive compared to other Thai restaurants in the area with comparable quality food. In a pinch, it will do, but I generally order my Thai food from another restaurant.

For this area, this Thai place gets a 3.5 but realistically it's more of a 2.9 compared to all the Thai places I've had the pleasure of tasting. The food is tasty and the service is quick, but unless I have an immediate Thai craving, I'll wait until I'm near my Thai fav's.

Pleasant staff! Nice perfectly light but still tasty thai food. Though, I do prefer take out rather than dining in because the place is so quiet you can hear them conversating in the kitchen haha

I ordered drunken noodles and medium spicy. the noodles were great and the spiciness level was a bit more than I could handle but was worth the experience.

Pros: Great prices and lunch specials Friendly and attentive staff Cons: A bit too cold at times Sometimes you would catch staff gaping for prolonged periods of time

mmmm....everyone else seems to love this place......

Try it! (Thai it!)

This place ranks as one of our worst dining experiences ever!

mmmm....everyone else seems to love this place......

Dreadful even for the burbs. Not close to decent Thai. Everything loaded with sugar so no Thai flavors show up. The staff are somewhere else. The Vietnamese nearby is decent.
