I always make sure to stop at this Starbucks location over the one on Rt. 23 because the customer service is top notch. The baristas are always very friendly, and on the one occasion my order was messed up they fixed it without question even though I returned a few hours later. I order a non menu item, and no one has ever given me a hard time about it like I have experienced at other locations. Despite being a national chain, this particular store has a small business feel about it.

Surprised to see that we as a nation haven't grown out of this "over-pay for coffee" fad. Anyway, the high prices could be forgiven if I could count on consistency, but my experiences have varied wildly. Coffee too strong one day is too weak the next; Frappuccinos are too sweet one day, insipid the next. The only consistent thing is how awful the teas are. Don't bother. And the baked goods absorb the odor of savory sandwiches. Nothing like biting into a scone and tasting bacon. Yuck.

Close to home, got my coffee in about 2 minutes and got great service! I'm a huge fan of parfait and they're great here as well.

Good place to get my coffee fix while I'm in between classes. YESSS SIR thank you for the little boost I need to make it through my next lecture.

I am writing a review because I was so shocked to get such excellent service. The two baristas that waited on my son and me were beyond sweet. And my coffee was delicious. They are much friendlier here than the Starbucks on Sycamore road!

I've stopped by this Starbucks a few times on trips to DeKalb with the boyfriend when we visit his brother and his wife. I've never had any issue with the way that the drinks are made. They've been made find every time. However, the service is hit or miss. I came in on Sunday and redeemed a treat receipt. If you buy a drink before 2pm, you can get an iced grande drink for $2 plus tax after 2pm. The cashier charged me correctly for the drink, which wasn't the issue. However, he was a bit rude when I asked for my receipt back. I keep my receipts to calculate expenses during the month. He seemed to think that I wanted it so I could get the $2 drink again. Mind you that it was almost 8pm by that time so am I really going to get a coffee drink that late? Anyway, he gave it back to me. I just didn't appreciate being interrogated about it. But eh, despite that incident, I would come back here again if in the area.

Wow, just moved to Dekalb in August. I must say every experience here has been awesome and it makes me realized how crappy my local Starbucks was before. The drinks are always made well and the customer service is great, Keep it up!

I'm in a hurry. I went and ordered a wrong drink. They asked me what the coffees I am really want. No questions, made me a new drink, no charged. Great customer service

Not sure why however this location always tends to discontinue earlyy and start late all the seasonal drinks. Location near Sycamore doesn't seem to have that issue.

Drink came out delicious. The man working the drive thru was very rude though.

I think it is a little hard to write a review on chains like Starbucks. They are all pretty much cookie cutters because there is a set layout to all their stores, it's just a matter of space, but what makes the difference is the employees in my opinion. I have never waited for a long time for my order and they are always very friendly. I definitely always receive service with a smile. For people who may miss it, yes there is a drive-thru. Drive behind Panda Express and you will find Starbucks drive-thru.

It's delicious and closer to NIU than the one closer to Sycamore. The drinks are the same as any other Starbucks but the employees are a little on the sour side.

Worst service ever. Sat in the drive thru line for 20 minutes. No way to escape. The guy behind me even had everyone back up so he could leave. No apology for the wait and barely a thank you for being a customer. When I asked what the delay was, the girl cheerily replied "well it is frappy hour." How cheesey. Just wanted a quick coffee to end a tough Friday, and their lack of sincerity made me want to scream! Don't go between the hours of 3 and 4 pm unless you have no where better to be. Should have chosen Fattys and a margarita instead.

Starbucks is everywhere, an undeniable fact of life in America (and lots of other places). People call it the Walmart of coffee, but nothing could be further from the truth. Starbucks buys directly from growers. Not only does this get the growers a better price, it allows Starbucks to pick growers with a commitment to quality product, environmentally friendly practices, and appropriate treatment of labor. If this wasn't enough, Starbucks is a great employer, and has a strong commitment to social responsibility. So why is the Starbucks on Lincoln Highway in DeKalb special? The people. They are friendly and helpful and are committed to making a regular out of every person who walks into the door. They are extremely awesome. Not everybody likes Starbucks' product, and that's fine. But if you do, make sure you stop into this store and enjoy the company of the finest Starbuck's staff anywhere.
