This location is hit or miss each time. Sometimes the service is just appalling, sometimes we have great service. Sometimes the salad bar is empty and it looks like a herd of locusts went through, other times it's fresh and full. A continual issue here is timing of the food coming out. We have resorted to asking our server to wait a few minutes before putting our order in as otherwise the entrees come literally before you return from the salad bar with your first plate. As with all Ruby Tuesdays, the price is a little steep for what you get and they could really use some refinement if they want to stay marginally above Applebee's or Chili's.

Excellent experience. Great service on the phone, great service when we got their. We had the salad bar, which was excellent, along with three main dishes. The chicken was cooked fine, the mashed potatoes were great. To bad we had no room for dessert.... We eat here again.

Salad bar is not as good as it use to be. They have taken many items out of the salad bar. It is just your plain ole green and tomatoes--no more garbanzo bean, beets, olives, etc. I use to have the salad bar with a meal once every week or so and now have not been back in a couple of months.

If you like having fingers sliced open by exposed screws in their seats, by all means, enjoy! This place is old, and in serious need of a renovation. The salad bar was old and dingy looking, the carpet was disgusting and dirty. The food at best is mediocre. The waitress we had was nice, but the manager did nothing for me after I cut my finger on the seat. I wasn't expecting our entire groups meal comp'd, but some sort of show of "good faith" would have gone a long way there. Instead I got a band-aid, and a business card. Bottom line, even if I didn't cut myself, there are too many other choices that are better in the DeKalb / Sycamore area to go to than this place. Please don't waste your time.

I went to Ruby Tuesday's the other day again because my daughter wanted a salad bar. The Salad bar is pretty good. Things seem to be fresh and there are plenty of things to choose from. The croutons to us are the best part. The rest of the food leaves a lot to be desired though. I thought I would try the new shrimp fondu that they advertised. On the card on the table you could see a nice bowl full of shrimp in fondue sauce. So, great. He brought the fondue and there was not one shrimp in site and looked nothing like the picture. I called him over and asked if the chef forgot the shrimp in the shrimp fondue. He said no, but there are the little bits of shrimp. No, those are little bits of bell pepper but where is the shrimp. He said well, it must be little bits of shrimp then too. My daughter got shrimp too which was breaded but am not sure about their breading. Every time I think it will be better then it is, but it's not. The breading leaves some kind of bitter aftertaste so, that's it for us. I don't think we'll go going here any longer.

Went here with some friends after a night class. Steak and Lobster, with mashed califlower and some chicken chili. Mediocre at best. I bet Outback is better! Hey Dekalb...get an Outback, plus a good breakfast place besides Egg Haven, SON!

As far as chain restaurants go, this has got to be one of my favorites. Their burgers are fantastic, they have fun cocktails, and their salad bar is top notch. On my latest visit, I was trying to eat a little healthier, so I ordered their grilled salmon salad. It had a huge piece of salmon on it, tomato, onions, cucumber and feta. All ingredients were in abdunance, which was nice, and the price was reasonable for sure. We had a bigger group, but they were able to accomodate us easily, and we just had one server, but he was very on top of things and able to split our bill for 4 different clusters of people (2 individuals, a couple and a family of 4), and all the bills were correct. I wish there was a Ruby Tuesday closer to home!! Looooooooove this place!!

Stay away. The salad bar was a mess with black slimy spinach and food everywhere. I had the broccoli cheddar soup too. It came out with a skin over it like old pudding and was all salt. The fries were great, so hats off to the guy they recruited from McDonalds to cook them. The service was decent and the waitress was nice. I hope the lousy food and poor management doesn't effect her tips too much.

This restaurant used to be fantastic! I think they have lost their game to the "health" movement. Don't get me wrong eating healthy is fantastic, it's just not so great when the healthy food you are eating is undesirable. I think their service is okay, I really think their menu change brought some downgrades to just about everything. If Ruby Tuesdays in Dekalb was as good as I remember, I wouldn't hesitate to tack on two more stars.

Really? I'm reviewing a Ruby Tuesday? Yes, I am! Kudos for being open past 3pm on Christmas Eve. It seemed to be the only place open, which worked out well for us. I'm not a fan of chain restaurants, in general, but we sure could have done worse than Ruby Tuesday in DeKalb! The salad bar really is pretty good, though it's always a challenge at these types of restaurants - somehow, I usually end up behind the guy that just can't decide what he wants. Hey, it's a freakin' buffet - you can come back if you miss something! Service was pretty average this particular night, but I understand - I wouldn't want this shift, either. We were fed reasobably priced food that didn't seem to greasy or mass produced. And it was cooked to order. I'd go back. And, hey, it's way better than Applebees!!!

I came here with two of my roommates for an impromptu birthday dinner. Our server was Samantha and she happily greeted us. We ordered queso and dip to share, I ordered the chicken & mushroom alfredo. We received their cheddar cheese biscuits which were so warm and heavenly! Our queso was a bit funky and unusually runny...but we ate it happily anyway. I really liked the dip to chip ratio--perfect! My pasta was nothing special to rave about. I do have to mention, however, that although Samantha was an excellent server before our food arrived...after our food arrived, she thought it would be appropriate to neglect us completely and talk to her coworkers up in the front. Our table was out of sight to the point where I had to scoot my chair all the way back and wave someone down. They were so into their conversation, no one noticed for a while. When we asked her to split our check, she gave us attitude (what do you expect from college students?) and said she would TRY to do it. Lady, you don't have to talk to us in that tone after ignoring us for what seemed like forever. During our meal all the workers seemed to just be standing around and talking to each other. Doesn't look that great considering the restaurant was nearly empty as well. Food was okay, service was inconsistent and unpleasant, I won't be back unless I have to.

We do not come here much, however have never had an unpleasant experience. There is no real salad bar in teh area other than here. The service is always friendly, in fact our last visit we both commented how this waitress seemed to not be "forcing" it and visited the table just the right amount, not too much, not too little. It tends to be on the quiet side, however every room does have TVs and the food we had was well prepared and not too pricey. Would recommend.

Horrible take out, cold mushy fries, two orders of them not a crispy fry among them, chicken fingers were soggy, and hot wings were rubbery and cold. Liked them so much prior to this experience asked for gift cards for Christmas luckily half our order was paid for by a gift card or I'd be even more upset. I've looked for an email for a manager but didn't find one so this will have to suffice.
