Really wanted to like this place more, it has a great neighborhood feel, but our experience was hit-or-miss. Service was very very good our entire visit. The complimentary popcorn was great for me, I'm a total popcorn fiend! I ordered chop steak and my husband ordered some ravioli with tomato cream sauce. We got our starters and the lettuce in my salad was less than fresh. Some leaves were borderline-liquefying, so I tried to pick them out and eat the good bits but eventually gave up. Husband had the beer cheese soup, which is usually great in this part of the country, but his was gravy-thick and just tasted like flour. Our main dishes came and his pasta was cooked well and very tasty, but literally SWIMMING in sauce. Now, I like loads of sauce (all the better for dipping bread in!) but he wasn't happy to search for the ravioli under all of that. My chop steak tasted great, but the sides on the plate were forgettable mashed potatoes and green beans that came from a can (canned green beans are definitely a whole other veggie from fresh ones...). Overall, as I said, there were a lot of bright spots but based on what we had I wouldn't return often. We have since been advised to go for the bar experience and get burgers, so we will give them a 2nd chance next time the fried-food mood hits.

Had lunch, food and service were very good. $6.99 lunch special burger was great. The Reuben was also great. Looked like lots of business lunches.

Walked in near the end of the Sunday brunch rush - place was packed! We were greeted immediately and shown the brunch options as well as being offered the menu. We opted for the menu items and thoroughly enjoyed the burgers - medium rare was a bit more on the rare side but quite delicious. The "Spicy burger" had good heat, but did not come with BBQ sauce as we expected from the menu description - our server promptly brought a side of the BBQ sauce which was sweet with a hint of tang, went great with the spicy burger as served. We all loved the fries - nothing left to take home. Though we did not have the buffet, there appeared to be a nice variety. Fried chicken, omelettes made to order - if we were hungrier we would have gone for it. My daughter said we should come here every time we do the local 5k!

While the service was fast and friendly and the beer cold, the food was just mediocre. I had a Reuben that tasted liked it was cooked on a grill that needed a good cleaning. My son couldn't eat his Mac and Cheese, he said it was gross. My husband's salad was pretty anemic, not many toppings. My daughter had the kids cheese pizza and it was just okay. We may go again, but just to sit at the bar and have a beer.

Stopped in on business trip on the advice of locals and they did not disappoint. They are known for their ground steak burgers. I had the stuffed blue cheese burger and it was amazing! I will definitely be back when I'm in town again!

Benny's had a lot of hype from the people I know have gone there before and so my hopes may have been a little high when I went. and then I was very disappointing. I got a blue cheese "stuffed" burger. why is stuffed in quotations you ask? because there was maybe, MAYBE, a teaspoon of blue cheese. the meat was very low quality, very chewy and was not very enjoyable. My wife had a chicken sandwich that tasted like cardboard. Now I know that I exaggerate often, or as I call it, artistic embellishment but I am not exaggerating now, wet cardboard, it was not even edible and we ended up just sharing my meal. the only good part of this experience was the popcorn they give you when you sit down, which was old and stale but still tasty. on the whole, I won't eat here again.

Myself and a group of esteemed dinery colleagues visited Benny's on a cool April Decatur evening. From the outside Benny's is no sight for sore eyes and appears to have experienced remodeling in recent days. From the inside the ambiance is rustic with wooden walls that make for a quaint feel for a restaurant. We were greeted by a cheerful waitress who served us well for the duration of our stay. My colleagues ordered a few salads and were throughly impressed with the quality of the food. One team member ordered as to what many surmised as one of the largest plates of spaghetti this side of the Mississippi. The food is consistent in quality and did not disappoint. Many a time we've dined Benny's and we've never left BENt out of shape. 4 stars!!

Their burgers are top notch with great ingredients and in-house grounded beef. I usually get the spicy burger (burger with chopped jalepenos infused into the meat) or the Benny's burger with 2 eggs and bacon (it gets hella messy). And price is pretty good also. Usually have ESPN on the big screen so you can catch up on some sports while you eat at the bar. I've never head brunch there but I heard it's pretty popping(In Decatur? really?) on sunday brunch. Beers cheap and great daily specials. Can't beat that. Also have outdoor seating area when the weather is decent.

This place saved the day earlier this year with an incredible and reasonably priced Mothers Day Brunch. So we decided to try it last week for a date night. My wife is allergic to gluten, so usually her burger plate seems a bit empty. We were not disappointed here! Great fresh meat, grilled to order, and awesome fries to go with it...though we hadn't much room for fries with the size of the burgers! All for about 7 or 8 bucks...not bad at all.

Overall a very good burger. Juicy without being messy. Basic bar atmosphere. Friendly service, though my meal came at the same time as my appetizer so burger had cooled by the time I got to it.

I've been here three times and as they say three strikes and you're out. I had a burger and fries each time I went and each time was a disappointment. I ask for medium and get well done all through. The last one was called Juicy Lucy. I somewhat expected the cheese that was in the middle to ooze out but it was just one solid lump. None of the burgers had any juiciness to them at all. I'm not sure if the cook keeps pressing on the patties as they cook or what, but sorry to say I won't be back. Servers were great. Very attentive. Prices are reasonable.

The food here is delicious. The service is very good too. There isn't much bar seating, which I preferred, because they took it out to put in games, but I guess they've got to pay the bills. They have an early bird menu, which is nice if you want to eat early. They have the best burgers in town, fresh, never frozen hamburger.

Awesome food! They do their own ground beef everyday - and you can taste the freshness! I had the Fatty Melt. Basically, it's a huge burger, but instead of a bun, they use two grilled cheese sandwiches! Boom! Let's do this.

Went to the Sunday brunch. Food was great, price was reasonable. I'll go back next time I'm in town visiting family.

Went back and tried the Blue Lucy - a blue cheese stuffed burger. EXCELLENT. I'd definitely go back. Heck, I want one right now!
