All is good when Anne, the store manager isn't here. She is snotty to customers and her employees. Anne's passive aggressive tendencies come out whenever she can pretend to not give her customers what they want. Avoid her at all costs. Also be prepared for a lack of air conditioning because apparently sweaty customers don't stick around as long. The 2 stars are only for the personable and eager to please staff including Donna and Jake; long term employees who take pride in their work and always put the customer first.

My favorite Starbucks. Always fresh coffee, friendly Batista's, local and Chicago newspapers, WiFi. With gold card status free refills.

To me a Starbucks is a Starbucks. Overall they manage to maintain a certain level of consistency across the board wherever you go. Which is nice. Thank you Starbucks for being that place in the world that offers us a sense of coffee security. I usually get a soy cinnamon dolce latte affagato. Yum. So good. I love that they have a secret menu. If only you have the keys to unlock the power of your local Starbucks. Where Starbucks tends to differ is in the employees and managers that work there. Sometimes you get a new barista and they are learning the ropes and Hey, that's okay. I'll be back in three months and they've got it down. When you have a cranky manager, well , *sigh* that tends to bring down the whole feel of the cafe. And unfortunately they tend to linger much longer than needed. My only complaint with this DeKalb store is their manager Ann. She is afflicted with such a sour disposition. I've written to corporate to complain about her. My heart cries a little when she's the one to take my order. She yells at her employees and is very gruff working the register. Starbucks is usually consistent with fun upbeat positive people. Wonder how she slipped thru the cracks into, management??

Extremely high prices for coffee like product. The servers act like they have better things to do than take care of a simple order. I have had better service and luck at Mc Donalds.

This'll be my last time soliciting the Starbucks in Dekalb. After getting a venti decaf, after taking my first sip I literally had the bitter coffee face!! I know I know why decaf you ask? Well I'm pregnant so another three more months and then I'm back to the regular good stuff! So I call and chat with the manager, and it seems like this is consistent such as other reviews I've read that she disregarded anything that I said, was really kind of unapologetic, offered me a free drink, but again really didn't care about my complaint. Then what really grossed me out is she said that yes sometimes the decaf can turn bitter because they don't use it as much. And when they don't use it as much and if they don't clean it it can make bitter coffee! Well then clean your machine Starbucks, it was 6am when I came through!!!!

The space is nice but the customer service is ok. Seriously think the staff does not know how to brew certain coffee and they seems do not know how Starbucks rewards system work.

This is semi-regular place for me during the week, I have been coming here for about 5 years and have seen very few faces staff-wise, so they must be doing something right. I have never had an order incorrect, not something I can say for all the Starbucks. The staff is very friendly, not simply making you wait, but engaging you in some kind of conversation while you wait at the window and that is if there is even a wait. While the one or two new faces I have seen over the years can get a little frazzled, it seems by the time they hit the registers or drive thru they have been well trained. Because of this type of service, I have attained gold card status. Not something to be proud of because it means I come here way too much, it's just so dang inviting. Ann, the manager, makes sure you have what you need and always seems to remember many of the regulars by name, if not by drink of choice. She and her staff are also very involved in the community via food drives, donations, etc. I believe this is a corporate store, however this involvement in the community sure would make someone believe otherwise. The atmosphere is very inviting. They do have busier times, however rarely is there not at least one seat available. Sitting there for any length of time you see the tables being wiped clean frequently as well as the counters and the display cases are stocked regularly. I have only had them run out of pastries on me rarely and later in the day and then it is one the popular seasonal items. If I had any complaint, it would be that they do not open till 6, which occasionally means I have to hit another Starbucks along my route somewhere later in the day, which then only goes to show me why I like MY Starbucks.

This review is strictly on the DRIVE THRU. I thought it would be important to make sure everyone knows how great the customer service is here. I loved this place when I get coffee. Today my mother and I wanted to get some yummy coffee for a cold day. We had Quin helping us today at the drive thru window and he was such a delight, so nice and truly wants his customers to have a better day. I would recommend the White Chocolate Mocha, it is my FAVORITE!

This Starbucks is near home so this is were my weekend coffee comes from. The people working here are super friendly and my drink is always good. Although I am one of the 1% out there that gets plain black coffee instead of some fancy drink.... :) Thankfully, I have not been overly pushed to buy that darn VIA here either. The WIFI works great and the seating is comfortable/abundant.

Friendly and quiet. You come here enough and the baristas will learn what you like and get started on it as you walk in door. I come here for my morning and afternoon fix while in town and it does that well...

Excellent place for a good sit down, I'm glad Dekalb has two Starbucks locations. I would highly recommend this place, every once in a while I have an order that is a little off (whipped cream when I didn't want any or vise versa) but nothing to get upset over. Have yourself a nice sit down and work on some homework!

Saw this Starbucks while driving to Chicago and went through drive thru not realizing they weren't yet open. When we inquired if they were open the manager told us they weren't but offered to serve us anyways. When we went to pay we were told it was on them. Very nice surprise and excellent service. Way above and beyond expectations.
