EXCELLENT Price. Shrimp, sea bass, clams for lunch. Additionally for dinner usually crawfish, walnut shrimp, sushi nigiri and sashimi. Friendly staff, great food. Cooked to order hibachi is excellent. Sushi is very good sushi for a buffet with good tasting fish. Definitely stop in and try it out!

I was glad to see that something finally opened up in this location. It's a Chinese restaurant that shouldn't have opened! After walking in, I was seated by a guy who performed the duties of the host as well as the one who brought food out from the back to the buffet, the sushi guy and even doing something over by a grill. I assumed he was my server as well. But no, I had no server. I was completely on my own. At China buffets, I usually just have salad, fish and desserts because I'm really not into Chinese food but enjoy the various fish choices at most of these places. There were two fish trays (one marked halibut and the other marked salmon). Both were empty for a long time. When fish finally came out, the halibut didn't taste or look like halibut and the salmon was tough, very dry and not hot. I only had a little taste of each and left the rest. When I entered, there were 8 customers including myself. When I left 30 minutes later, I was the only one there. The place was empty and it is no wonder why. Even though I don't eat sushi, I notice that there were only a dozen pieces out. That whole area where sushi should have been was empty. When it came to wanting a refill on my pop, I couldn't find anyone. I actually trekked back to the server area - likely off limits to customers by the Board of Health's standards - and got my own. Literally, there was no one around for the longest time to ask for a refill of my beverage. (The only reason I give this place 2 stars instead of 1 is because I gave the service at Golden Corral in Bolingbrook 1 star - and as terrible as this place is, it's better than Golden Corral with Ashlee serving. Trust me: No server is better than that!) No, just like with Golden Corral in Bolingbrook, I won't be back to this buffet either!

I visited Red Bowl at 6:30pm on a weeknight. The place was a ghost town, and I now know why. For this place to advertise sushi and hibachi is a joke. There wasn't a sushi chef, and the sushi on display looked old and picked over. There was a hibachi prep table, but nobody manning the hibachi grill for the entire hour I was there. The buffet food was decent... but not worth the price. The restaurant was understaffed, and poorly laid out for a buffet, in my opinion. I will not be returning.

I tried calling them first to ask about their dinner prices. No one ever answered the phone it just gave a busy signal. I told them about this when I came in, and the guy told me "oh they must be on the phone in back." But I called about 13 times and no one answered, so I don't know what the deal with that is. The food here is pretty tasteless, I was kind of disappointed with their selection. A lot of trays were almost empty or look like they have been sitting out a while. I only give the place 1 star because the sushi didn't give me food poisoning.

I was REALLY hoping that the reviews were wrong about this place and that I would be pleasantly surprised. I wasn't. I walked in after shopping in the area and saw workers setting up the buffet 20 minutes after they opened. Nobody acknowledged me. It took me walking up to one of them asking if I could sit anywhere. She said "sure". I went straight for the pop machine to get myself something to drink and it didn't work. As I walked back to my table, the same worker told me she would get my drink for me and set off to retrieve my beverage. The buffet is pretty small with few options and I can understand the low price tag. There are a lot of standard Chinese dishes that were okay. The Dimsum section like some others have said is pretty sad. The sushi section wasn't set up at all when I arrived and 20 minutes into me being there, I noticed that they had a few rolls that looked questionable so I opted for a piece of spicy tuna. Never again. The dessert section is your standard pre-made buffet desserts which I wasn't interested in. Honestly, there wasn't enough good things to eat at this buffet that would justify the price for me and the service isn't very good either. Next.

Horrible food on the buffet. The hibachi cook is a grump and the hibachi tastes horrible. Only good thing here was the wonton soup. Don't go here.

Red Bowl is on the same location of New China Buffet. The restaurant is just open under new management on 10/21. The old restaurant closed last year due to the 75th road expansion construction that pretty much blocked all business at Lemont and 75th. Pros: - Free WiFi - New interior renovation, tables are not too crowed and close to each other. - Added sushi table, the quality of rolls and sushi are good if not compare to Japanese restaurant. - $7.99 for lunch. Cons: - Added dimsum section, the quality is just not there yet. A distance far away from the dimsum in Chinatown. - The spicy seafood soup taste too much like ketchup mixed with chicken broth. In general, I like the price and the quality of the food. However, from my experience of Chinese buffet. The quality and choices of food may change after a period of time when the business not enough to support.

So a few friends and I were in the area looking for a place to eat. We ended up at this place for dinner. (Main reason being our previous visit to Royal Buffet across the street was horrible.) My previous review for this place is unchanged. The food is old and dried out from sitting too long. I really don't know why the place pays for a sushi guy to stand there. He absolutely refuses to make any new sushi or rolls after the initial plates are made at opening time. Most of the plates were empty, yet he did not make anything new to refill them. What was left wasn't very appetizing hence being the only ones remaining. This place like other similar chinese buffets in the area will suffer the same fate. It won't last and close down. In addition I presume to save on wages, one person handles cashier, waiter, and busboy duties. This usually means old plates will sit on your table for a long period of time.

I was hesitant in giving this place a try because of the two reviews that gave this place only one star. But what the heck, the price is cheap for the lunch and I was craving for some Chinese buffet. By the time I walked out, I was satisfied. I believe it depends on the time you decide to walk into this place because I was acknowledged, the host was nice (he was pretty busy as well because he had the job of being a host and also as a hibachi chef), fresh food was constantly being brought out... I really don't understand what people complain about, it is a Chinese Buffet, what do you really expect? The price was $7.99 for lunch which I think it is a very good price compared to Royal Buffet down the street. It is much cleaner and the people that work here are much nicer. They do have a wide variety of food here, the food is not great, but it is not bad either! Their sushi is on the hard side so it's not great, but again, it's not horrible either. The time that I spent there, the food pans were never empty, and the kitchen constantly rolled out fresh food, so what is there to complain about? All in all, I give this place 3.5 stars.

Food is average and service is terrible. Their hibachi chef is an a$$hole and a d**k to your face. There are so many other buffet and Asian restaurants in the area. Go to those instead. I give this place a few months before they close down.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
