Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Such a great suprise to find! Freshly made food that was excellent! Its hard to find mexican food around here that is worth running out for. I had sopes, my husband tacos, my daughter a quesadilla. Everything was wonderfully made and really good. I cant wait to go back.

This was an awesome place to stop for some good tacos after a long stressful day at work. I ordered the al pastor tacos and they were awesome and the women at the counter couldn't be more friendly she offered me some chips and salso to go along with my tacos and the salsa was incredible. I came in a week later and she remember me and my order. Love that kind of service.

I've been here twice now, and had the steak burrito both times. Very good and reasonably priced, they also carry Jarritos and Mexican Coca-Cola. I'll update again after I try other menu items.

Amazing food 100% authentic Mexican. She makes everything from scratch! She invites you to taste test other menu items. She is friendly like eating in your Aunts kitchen. Completely blows El Gallo & Gracies out of the water! Her Mole, Tamales, salsa, tacos are Simply great! Great pricing Great service Great Food! I'm glad I found her down the street from us because the other local "Mexican" restaurants are way to Americanized for me!

I was not impressed. I was the only one in there and ordered tacos and rice. Nothing special about the rice. They really skimp on the ingredients of the tacos. Hardly any lettuce at all. The avocado I ordered extra for the tacos had brown spots in it. Taste wise, nothing special. I have been going to EL Gallo Tapitio in Crestwood on Cicero Ave. and it's WAY better. You know it's better because El Gallo has more than one location, you get a lot for your $$ and they're always busy day or night. I would not go to Huerta again.

Fantastic freshly made Mexican food. Reminds me of my visit to Mexico years ago. When the owner realized that I don't eat meat, she made a special tamale filled with only cheese and peppers. I had a bean taco. My husband had tacos (beef) and tamales. We both had fabulous guacamole, hand made just prior to serving it to us. Loved the opportunity to have Mexican sodas, too. Very delicious food - We'll definitely be back.
