I got dragged here by friends on black wednesday with the promise of wings and $1 beer (bottled). I went along and had some of the wings and was really happy. So happy that I decided to go back a few days later with my boyfriend because I know he loves wings and this place is so close to my apartment. I was surprised to see negative reviews all over yelp and thought I should wait and visit again before I wrote my review and I'm glad I did. The wings were awesome and cheap on a wednesday. My friends ordered a ton and some buckets of beer and all was well. Didn't seem like service was slow or anything. Then my boyfriend and I go on a Sunday and sit at a table. The bar area has a few loud people watching football, but the bartender comes to our table and takes our order. We ordered some wings and a pulled chicken sandwich. He told us we get two sides and picked them out. The mac-n-cheese side was bland and crappy. What you expect to get from a cafeteria or tv dinner. The sweet potato fries were decent and I ate em all up. Wings were good, just as good as the last time. For our chicken sandwich, he brings out a a whole roasted chicken. My jaw dropped, this isn't what we ordered. We told him that and he was like, oh. My boyfriend says, don't worry about it and the guy walks away. I'm not a big fan of food that's shape like a dead animal body and I insisted we tell the waiter to take it back and bring us the sandwich. He took it back and had the sandwich made, but it wasn't impressive at all. Hardly any bbq sauce in it and the bread was cibatta bread. It just wasn't good. I left there thinking, we should of went to Hog Wild or Chuck's in Burbank. If you want to go here and drink, buy some wings, then its worth it. But for dinner, I'd say find somewhere else. I understand getting an order wrong and fixing it, but the pulled chicken sandwich was not good at all and I was disappointed. I really wanted to make this my new fav place to get wings but I guess I'll just have to make due with other places.

I made the mistake of purchasing a groupon before I checked reviews. When my husband and I entered, the bartender looked at us, then turned away. The waitress (who was the bartender's mother) was very nice, however. The food just not memorable - there was plenty of it, but, in a region noted for awesome barbeque, it just doesn't cut it. The place has potential, they even have collard greens on the menu! But the clientele at the bar, when we left, stared at us all the way out as if we had parked our flying saucer in the lot - definitely supporting the bartender's decided lack of welcome. Not a place you want to go - even if you get a huge bag of food to take home for later.

Got to this place and we were first... I almost walked out.. ugh BUT to our surprise the food was very tasty.. started with beer battered mushrooms and jalapeno hushpuppies main meals: hot links with beans, coleslaw and mac n cheese and brisket with potato salad, mac n cheese and greens Drinks... beer and mixed both good and not watered down Apps were EXCELLENT... crispy, hot and just on time. next time I will try the smoked chicken quesadilla.. it sounded excellent Mains were good... not too smoky for a place called smokin smoke house... BUT very juicy and tasty sides were great.. best greens I've had in a long time.. mac and cheese was excellent and coleslaw was good. I will be back... I have heard the wings were excellent Service was excellent.. she was polite, attentive and pleasant.. YAY!!

I bought a Smokin Hot Rewards card and it is useless. Supposedly by purchasing the card for $15 you get $30 loaded on it for your next purchase and can also rack up points for food purchases. It was my first visit and the waitress totally pressured me to purchase the card or I would not have even inquired about it. The website that supports the rewards card doesn't even recognize it. The restaurant also has a website listed on the card, smokinhotsmokehouse.com , but I dare you to try and log on. The site doesn't exist. I'm about to go to the local authorities because they are scamming their patrons. Food was horrible too, brisket was disgustingly full of fat. I'm getting my rewards card purchase dollars back, you betcha.

Go on a Wednesday for 50 cent wings and $1 bottles. Jamaican jerk was very good and the wings were meaty. Lots of tvs to watch too. Can't speak to the BBQ but the wings were good. It feels like a local tavern that serves food. Good lunchtime crowd, everyone seemed to be having a good time.

First sign of not-so-good BBQ: Ribs don't easily pull apart. Second sign: need to use sauce. We were the only table-service diners. Everyone else was at the bar for the baseball game, so atmosphere was very 'bar-ish"; which might show why there's not much concern for the food quality. Get hammered and everything tastes better. Couldn't get chicken; wouldn't be done for an hour. This was at 7:30 pm. Really? I won't return.

I recently bought a groupon for this place, and finally put it to use on Feb. 2nd, 2012. I've been looking forward to eating at this place since it opened, and what a disappointment it turned out to be! Right off the bat the service was deplorable! Our waitress wasn't rude or anything, just incompetent. They had a decent selection of beers, but nothing on draft. My sister-in-law ordered a "coke" and we were informed they only had warm cans, no fountain pop. Next I was excited by the choices on the menu, but again let down when we learned they were "out" of a number of items. Such as collard greens, brisket, and baby-back ribs, and those were just the items we tried ordering which they were out of. When the food finally came out, after nearly an hour, my wife didn't like the St. Louis style ribs at all. I on the other hand, thought they were "okay" not tender enough but good flavor. I also had the hot links which came out cold, and tasted awful that way. My sides of corn bread was mediocre and corn-cob was awful. The BBQ sauces: "smokin hot"- was lacking, it was very peppery and yet not hot at all, and almost wasn't recognizable as a traditional BBQ sauce. The "sweet BBQ" on the other hand, I thought was quite good. All four in our party ordered fries, and even though our waitress wrote it down correctly, only brought two orders out. Then when I had corrected her she apologized and said I'll bring the rest out right away, twenty minutes later she brought one more order out rather than 2. All in all I might be willing to give it another shot, but they would have no room for error in my next visit!

What a complete disappointment! I will give any place a try that has "smoke house" in the name but this is false advertising. Nothing smokey or good about what I had. I got a sandwich with 2 meats so I could try both the hot link and brisket. The brisket was average but not in the least bit smokey and not very generous with it either. The link was horrendous! They thinly sliced the link and put in on the sandwich. And I do mean thin! Maybe a total of half a link on it. And it was dry like it was sliced earlier in the day. The coleslaw was not put on the sandwich like its advertised and I asked for. Its not very good anyways. The mac n cheese was bland and packaged earlier in the day as well. And the baked beans tasted like pork and beans out of the can. The sauce (smokin hot sauce) actually wasnt bad. Nice heat to it but that was the best part of the meal. And did I mention the street sign is black? Yeah, good luck seeing it at night. update: They put a spotlight on the sign. So now you can see what you shouldnt stop at.
