This place is awesome! I really like the food (even though its bar food), friendly environment and Helen is the nicest, most attentive bartender in the greater Chicago area! She is the main reason I come back and continue to introduce people to this place. I will definitely be back very soon.

Stopped in the other night to check the joint out, try my hand at the slots. Quickly realized the place was kind of a townie, dive sports bar. The place seemed fairly equipped, providing multiple pool tables, jukebox, bar video games, TV's, and the aforementioned slots, but a grimey, watch your back feel didn't sit right with either one of us during the visit. We didn't try any food, partially because of the overall lack of cleanliness inside. It's hard enough to eat bar food, especially at a joint who can't keep the bar and surrounding tables clean. First time experience wasn't a great one, but it wasn't terrible enough to completely scratch it from my list. I'm sure we'll stop back in the future...I'd like to confirm or deny my suspicions of Time Out being a local sports dive bar.

My boyfriend and I came here on a whim for a late dinner at about 10:30pm. It was surprisingly empty for a Sunday night for the particularly roomy, ambient sports pub which, we quickly learned, featured fantastic food and drink specials. We quickly fell in love with the place. There's pool tables and slot machines if you're feeling like hanging out for more than a meal and a few drinks - and the bartender was more than happy to change one of the television channels to Cartoon Network for us. The portions were surprisingly huge - and for dirt cheap prices. I ordered a salad and my boyfriend had a pizza - both were delicious. We were shocked that the HUGE pizza was priced at only $10. And it was well above "bar pizza" quality; it was better than something we'd order from a local pizza joint. The drinks were reasonably priced as well - and super strong, to boot! Time Out! is the type of dive bar with its regular patrons, but they weren't standoffish to us newcomers. Our server was friendly and helpful, and the food came out quickly and well-prepared. We loved our first visit so much that we came back a few days later, at which point we were offered a "regulars" card, which earns you a discount after you accumulate enough points. My only suggestion to make this place even better would be to expand the beer menu. To be fair, though, I'm relatively snobby with my beer. But there weren't any IPA options, so I stuck with mixed drinks, which I'll reiterate were super strong. Otherwise, this place is fantastic and definitely worth a visit. We'll be coming back for as long as we live in the area!

went back last night; it was a little busier even for a Monday. This is one of those bars where music isn't on the entire time & people seem to talk quietly to each other here. The boyfriend teased that it was the only library with a bar attached ('cuz it was sooo quiet) but the people were clearly regulars & liked going there to unwind. The bartender was ubber sweet. I would go back. I'm sure it's louder on the weekends lol!

Thy have a Texas style chicken sandwich that is almost addictive. It's the best thing on the menu in my opinion. Very friendly staff. It's a little dark inside when I walk out the sun is blinding but it's a sports bar so it's to be expected.

I went in on Friday night and they were raffling a 42 inch TV!!!! The atmosphere was great and my girlfriend had a wonderful time. I'd definitely go back with her and my friends. We ordered pizza and wings and I must admit the wings were better than down the street. This place is a must try if you like good bar food.

With the abundance of nearby chain restaurants; here is a gem of a sports bar. The ambient smell of Clorox and gym socks is what fills the lungs as you take in the atmosphere. Local folk line the bar and share smiles as they cheer towards a Cubbie win. The vibe is mostly older white males with a few ladies and kids thrown into the afternoon mix. Per another reviewers comments if you're a newbie like I was, you might get some stares or glances. Entertainment is provided via a few decent pool tables, a plethora of small & wide screen TVs playing everything from sports to Ugly Betty reruns. A few dart boards, an Internet jukebox and arcade bags machine. The makings to a good time at the sports bar. Lots to see, at least from my pub stool perch. Typical suburban dive, in that you've got a decent enough bar with pretty good food and cute bar staff (I bet would not be caught in here if it wasn't for a job). I would guess it's the bar staff that is what brings in the early afternoon crowd. My bubbly waitress tells me it's the happening spot in the area once it becomes night. An older gentleman arises from his stool and mentions to the bartender that he'd see her soon. "Off day?" "Yep" "I'll be here, working that day" "Great, you're the sexiest lady I know, I'll be here for sure" (Shudder) Was that a flirt, I wondered. A few details to why it's good. So many offerings for entertainment for you and your group. Management is often making rounds, however he never once approached or greeted me. I think he saves that for repeat customers. Many servers and runners. Attentive waitstaff. Decently priced food menu and lunch specials for $3.99, that beats out any lunch combo you could possibly find in the area. In the bar there was a mention to text a number to receive daily specials and special alerts of other bonuses. They don't have to do that, but they are and that's whats cool.

This is one of my favorite dive bars across the country. I don't even live in Chi town but this place rocks... Good food cheap drinks ... Open late... Mixed crowed = awesome to me!

I used to like this place when I worked in Countryside a few years ago. Recently, I was in the area and stopped in for dinner and they carded my daughter- when she ordered a Coke. They said no one under 21 allowed. We were at a table, nowhere near the bar. So we went down the street to Applebee's and sat at the bar without any problem. So, just an FYI- it's just a BAR, not a "bar and grill" I couldn't rate anything except the attitude and lack of explanation I got from the waitress- so there's your one star.

I love this place! You could go to Brixie's in Brookfield if you want a dive with bad food and weak mixed drinks. I prefer Time Out for the real "dive" experience. What's great? The food and its great economical pricing. The saganaki is awesome(for a bar). The wings are great. The pizza is not bad. Sam, if she's there, is a great waitress. The mixed drinks are not only economical but will mess you up, at a great price. A $3.99 daily special WITH soup is hard to find, and there's no mincing on the meal itself. That's nice. Multiple screens with multiple things to watch- that's a nice switch from some places nearby where one sporting event dominates the TV. The taco salad is delicious. Nick, one of the managers, is great. What could improve? Their soup is jalapeno based(I believe). All of them. That presents a unique problem to those of us with sensitive digestive systems. Their jukebox could use some updating. You hear a lot of the same stuff, and while I know they have their regulars(b/c I'm one), there's no way those people are playing the same five songs over and over when I'm there on sporadic occasions. The only bad experience I've had in the over 14 years since I've been going there was when my friend ordered an ice tea and the waitress suggested a pitcher AFTER my friend had already ordered a single glass. Then she got charged for both; it would have been nice for her to have suggested it before. And I have not seen that waitress back since, for the record. Overall, my favorite sports bar in the area.

I swear I did a review on this place already, but can't find it on Yelp. We went a few months ago for my grown nephews birthday. Very crowded but everyone visiting the bar was pleasant. The bartenter was great, I told her I need a weird or strange shot for my nephew, she made it and it was awesome looking. I won't say the name on here and I had never heard of it before. When we first got there we went to the back because there was no tables available at the time and we were standing which was okay except for this one waitress was really rude and kept being rude all night to us. She kept saying not to stand where we were, not telling us if we were in the way or if it was a hazard area or something similar to that. The only problem I saw was she was eating pizza near where we were standing and "maybe" she thought we were going to try to eat it. We ended up with this great waitress and if I remember right her name was Paige. She got us our drinks right away when we needed more, she was friendly and had good personality. We played pool and had some wings to eat. Great place to have a drink!!

I'm not quite sure how this bar got the $$$$ expense rating, its basically a road side bar with road side bar pricing. I'm giving it a $$ expense rating for an appetizer or entree and two drinks. My husband and I were doing our version of a pub crawl last Thursday night and since I now have the YELP app for my Palm Pre, I was in "high-gear-review-mode". This spot was the last stop on our five bar run. The decor consists of standard beer brand plaques, beer promo signs and upcoming dart tournaments. No frills here, its probably been quite awhile since anything was updated. But we stopped in because, well, I'm a Yelper and that's what Yelpers do...we survey our surroundings for hidden gems. This isn't one of those gems----BUT because people seemed to like the food here my husband ordered some boneless chicken wings with what was supposed to be a honey pineapple sauce. Well, you can't really mess up deep-fried, processed chicken meat, but the sauce turned out to be kinda 'plum-like', dark and molasses tasting---no pineapple honey here. We were expecting maybe something golden, light and pineapple tasting---that wasn't the case. The Lakers were winning the championship, so we watched Kobe and the gang sinking the history-making points. But that didn't distract me from noticing out of the corner of my eye that some chick was in the bar with her kid at 11:30pm. It wasn't like they were dining, the poor little kid was about 7 or so, sitting there looking lost while his mother(?) was on the phone and/or texting someone. I was surprised that the owner sitting behind us didn't seem the least concerned. I felt badly for the kid. This place might be OK for a late, LATE night snack. And even though there's a sign posted that there's a DJ on Saturday nights, there's no dance floor or dancing to speak of. (I asked the owner's son for confirmation) With nothing to keep us, we finished our cluck and chips and our reasonably priced drinks and high tailed it home. I was generous with my two stars because if drinking is your objective you'll find low priced drinks and a 'drinking atmosphere'. But sadly not much else.

I gotta hand it to these guys, maybe they read my yelp review but last time i went food was A-OK! From a big and crunchy wedge salad with fresh-off-the-vine tomates to the actually pretty damn tasty reuben I feel bad I knocked these guys down before. Its still a bar, for a Friday lunch (with frosty pitchers, natch) I won't hesitate next time to go back!

A friendly and casual sports bar. never too crowded, sometimes a little too empty, which can tend to make it boring in it's atmosphere. on football sundays it's packed though. cheap drinks, good food and drink specials. the food is good: I've had most of the wing flavors, and the pizza is really good. You can go in on pretty much any night and have fun shooting pool or just hang out, and it doesn't put to much of a dent in your wallet. If you are looking for the hoppin' night life, this isn't the place for you (it's mostly locals sittin around shootin' the breeze). If you are looking for a good solid bar, this is the place.

It's really just another run-of-the-mill sports bar, but the one special I remember was getting a decent-sized pizza - like 14" or 16" - plus a pitcher of lite for about $11. When you consider that buckets are usually $11, it's a steal. Plus the 'za was actually pretty good... me and one other friend finished it off. Drink prices are about average, certainly not deserving of a $$$$ rating. I got a martini for about $4. And they also have some billiards in the back as well as the perennial favorite, Golden Tee. On an average night out, I would say expect between $11-30 per person, not including food, if you plan on getting more than 3 mixed drinks or some pitchers/buckets, which is just about what you'd pay at some places in Forest Park.
