Good Mexican,-American food. Large portions. I ordered some Mexican fare here for carry out.. Since I didn't do the actual pickup, I can't speak about anything but the food. My order consisted of 3 items. * Steak taco. When there is not a cilantro and onion option for steak tacos (carne asada), you know the place has been tailored to the American appetite. I will say that it was stuffed full with a base of refried beans, then cheese, then a lot of steak bits and more cheese on the top. * Tostada with all pastor pork. I probably enjoyed this the most out of my order. Lots of tasty pork with nice accompanying ingredients, including a nice layer of refried beans. I recommend the tostadas without reservations. *Nachos with cheese. Here was another clue that there is a strong American influence. The chips were good, but the cheese is definitely food service (like gehls). This is the stuff they put in the heated pump st the ball park. Don't get me wrong--i like them for what they are. Taco Taco is a good choice so long as you know what to expect. My inclination would be 3.5, but the tostada was pretty great, so I rounded up.

Grrrrreatt Tacos. The host was really nice and quick to respond. We took take outs from here and our order came in pretty fast. The wait time was extremely low. I can certainly visit this place again.

As stated on prior reviews there are no fills @ Taco Taco. Im not looking for frills,im looking for a great steak burrito. This is what Taco Taco does have ! The steak has a great taste and seasoning to it. The portions are large as well. The staff is very friendly and the food is prepared quickly. If your looking for take out mexican, look no further!

The Adventures of Taco Taco On a brisk, tiring Sunday, the last thing that I wanted was to be stuck in traffic either to or from my dinner. Sadly, I found myself in that said predicament both to and from my dinner, but what came in between those struggles is what changed my mental state; the authentic and rich Mexican food of Taco Taco. My friend Dylan and I hurried from the car to the Taco Taco doors, and from that point on I could tell that this place was not a mistake. Upon entry into the large-sized bedroom converted into a taco shop, one feels a sense of trust in the people and the food they are making. This does not come from how clean the tables are or how pleasant the people look, but from the intricate simplicity of the establishment. Although the simplicity of the artwork was subconsciously convincing me to devour whatever food I got, the conscious part of my brain was convinced once I caught a whiff of whatever that chef was cooking. It seemed to me like their freshly mixed salsa, but the strength of their queso soon took over. Despite the convincing whiffs, I was ultimately pulled in by the kindness of the entire visible crew, and the consistent ramble of incoherent Spanish I was attempting to make sense of. Some might have felt awkward and uncomfortable in that situation, but I however felt comfortable. With that comfort came slight claustrophobia when I realized there really was no place for us to eat inside. Comfort was restored by the kind cashier and workers, and after a decent wait we got our food and headed out to the car. With the car being a much more personal place to eat in comparison to any restaurant, I really was able to enjoy this meal. Most will be tempted to eat while driving or take the food home due to the lack of inside seating, but I highly recommend readers to at least someday enjoy the meal in the car. Furthermore, the meal I ordered was the Chicken Tortas with rice, beans, sour cream, salsa, lettuce, and of course chicken. Being an avid lover of authentic Mexican food, I searched for a slightly more exotic Mexican dish aside from the burrito. An excellent torta from Taco Grill helped me decide what my new favorite dish would be. As I was hoping for this torta to knock Taco Grill's off the podium, I set up on my dashboard two dipping sauces, one of salsa and one of queso. Typically the first and last bite of a torta is similar to that of the ends of a loaf of bread; no one prefers it. This torta, due to my wise decision to dip it in both the salsa and queso, left me satisfied from end to end. Mixing in a couple chips and salsa and sips of Dr. Pepper completed this meal into an overall pleasant experience. In what seemed like one minute, both halves of the torta had finally been eaten and all I had left were a few broken chips and sips of now-watered-down Dr Pepper. Although the meal was a quick one, it left me satisfied for the entire night, and the experience was even enjoyable despite the lack of indoor seating.

We live nearby and I have to say I really like this place! It's always super clean, the staff is friendly and the food tasty and very affordable. Nice size portions and they add the carrot and peppers which I like!

My review isn't as glowing as others. I've tried Taco Taco 3 times over the past couple years, my last visit end of July 2105. Ordered their crispy tacos for my wife, was basically dried out soft corn tortillas, expected true crispy shells. Bought a steak burrito, lots of gristle in the meat. The carrots & jalepenos were a nice add on, but no where near as flavorful as what you get from El Faro. Their service is decent, but the food is lacking. Probably my last visit here, unfortunately.

I love this place. I don't live far or work far. So the girls at work asked where is the best place for tacos. I suggested this place. They were more than happy when they ate there food. I called in my order which was for 3 separate people. They had it ready when I got to the location to pickup (less than 10 minutes). The place was clean and the people were very friendly. Can't eat there but worth it to take it with you.

Good tacos, good hot carrots, fast, and cheap. One of the best fast Mexican places in the area.

  • Joseph K.

Super good tacos. The ingredients are fresh and the portions are generous. There is a menu selection to suit every taste. The staff is friendly, and they work fast!

  • Patrick F.

Good quick cheap eats. The tamale and rice were a little bland. The enchilada was tasty but I was a little disappointed to see the that they use "radar love" to melt the cheese but it is a tiny less expensive place so you get what you pay for. Overall not bad for the price.

Solid, authentic take out mexican food. Burritos are a notch below El Faro, but still very good. Ask them to put hot sauce inside them- the default method is no salsa inside. Have some interesting Burrito fillings too - Milanesa, Chile Relleno...etc.

  • Jason M.

Fast and unbelievable flavor. Friendly service and a wide variety of options on the menu. This place rules. Just wish they were open later on the weekends and delivered!

Great food, reasonably priced plus great selection! This is one of the few "authentic" places in Countryside. The people taking your order are very friendly. My favorite are the tacos and their gigantic quesadillas. We have also become fans of their guacamole! We go there and pick up to go at least once per week. They have never disappointed us. There are no tables to sit, so is strictly a "to go" place :)

Good solid food. Only tried the steak tacos and they were great. I will definitely be back when I'm in the area.

Taco Taco has set a high standard for what I expect in a steak taco. This is our 'go to' place for Mexican food. There are four Mexican restaurants in the very near area and this is always our first choice.

What can I say about a hole in the wall with the worst homemade decor except OPA!!!!.....oh wait that's Greek. I mean FANTASTICO!!!! One of the best places for Mexican food north of Cal Sag Road and west of the downtown Chi-Ca-Go. I could also mean the most reasonable too. Food is great for the price, portion size is very good, and cleanliness exceeds govt standards. The man that cooks the food/takes the order is very friendly and fast too. Would definitely recommend. You can even have it delivered...how cool is that. Mexican delivery. Woo hoo!!!

Let's start with BRING CASH! So, one star lost there because I never carry cash. Let's talk steak---I don't know what they do to their steak, but it turns out looking like ground beef and I don't like that, but my husband doesn't seem to mind it on occasion---still, minus a star. I don't go for mystery meat. But the tastes here are close to authentic, especially for late night fare. We stop in here for quickie, low-cost Mexican fare. But I'd have a hard time recommending it. Let's just say, I'm not grossed out by eating here. Does that make sense? You could do alot worse.

  • Jeff O.

They accept credit cards now. This is the neighborhood 'hole in the wall' Mexican food shop, parking may be cramped, but it's never terrible. The food is authentic & delicious and prices are reasonable.

  • Heather L.

I'm surprised by low reviews, but perhaps my experience is different due to being vegetarian. They are AMAZING at adapting what they offer to fit my needs, and never make me feel like a bother or a pain. Their vegetarian tacos are always fresh tasting--I get rice in them--and if you want extra avocado, it's well worth the small charge--they put SO much on. Their special nachos are also vegetarian and are delicious.

  • Essie Z.

This is such a greasy spoon. But the food is awesome. I'd hate to eat in because it's so dirty. And I try not to think if the front is that dirty what's the kitchen like? The make everything to order and it takes awhile if you are waiting but it's worth it. The food I give 5 stars. I hated giving it three but its just so dirty up front! OH and just to warn you they don't take any credit. Just cash. Luckily I had enough cash on me the first time.

    (3)
  • Julie A.

Sad to see the low reviews. Parking is a pain..I have never had bad food here...yes u must add salsa...its cheap quick Mexican food. Give it a try, but don't expect it to be perfect.

  • Steven M.

What a dump. It took way to long to get a burrito that was just average. Making me wait so long at the counter gave me the chance to look around and check out the lack of a cleaning service. Which is funny. Because my burro tasted like dish soap. They must store the refried beans in the mop bucket. The parking lot sucks if you have anything larger than a schwinn. Take a pass on this place.

    (2)
  • Jackie W.

This place had great tacos, small but filling - they're cheap, quick, and don't charge for extras. Parking is tight but so are most things in this area. Takeout only, even though there's a tiny table near the counter. Also - AWESOME fries!

    (3)
  • Erin B.

There's a tight squeeze in the parking lot, but once you get in, you're fine. Until you back out! The food here is ok. It will do, especially if you're drunk/hung over. I find that the soft shell tacos are really dried out (the tortillas that is), and there isn't much flavor/taste to it. The rice tastes like white rice colored orange, but is ok when you're drunk/hungover.

    (2)
  • Tio S.

What can I say about this Taco Taco that hasn't already been said. It's your typical taqueria, except the food is below average quality (at least if you're sober). I don't think there are many fast food Mexican options in the area, so it's not as if they have competition for your business at midnight. The name Taco Taco doesn't quite leave much to the imagination, but I'm sure it helps those late night "after the bars let out" people find what they're looking for! I won't PLAN on going back again, but I'm sure I'll be there some time.

    (2)
  • Brian M.

Not a big fan of Taco Taco, but it'll serve in a pinch. The tacos are okay, but they have a weird flavor. My guess is it's something in the tortilla... The burritos are big, but kind of blah. Not my first choice.

    (2)
  • Chris B.

Its a little hole in the wall place, but its got some good, fast mexican food. There is no place to sit and eat really so it is strictly take-out. The burritos are pretty big and not expensive. My favorites are the quesadillas. They are huge and full of chicken or whatever else you want. The red hot sauce is good too, be sure to ask for extra.

About Taco Bell

Taco Bell is a haven for Mexican delicacies such as tacos, quesadillas, burritos, nachos, and other specialty items. Owned by Yum! Brands, Inc. Taco Bell is one of the fastest growing American chains of fast food restaurants. The restaurant operates from 7,072 different locations which are mostly run by independent franchisees and licensees.

The background story of Taco Bell is interesting and inspiring for budding entrepreneurs. The fast-food brand is the brainchild of Glen Bell, who started his first food venture as a hot dog seller in San Bernardino, California. The year was 1948. After witnessing long queues outside a Mexican restaurant called Mitla Café across the street, Bell saw the opportunity and demand for hard-shelled Tacos. He reverse-engineered the recipe and later started selling Tacos and called the venture Taco-Tia.

Later, the name changed from Taco-Tia to El Taco. Eventually, Glen Bell sold the company to his partner and opened the first Taco Bell in Downey in 1962. By 1964, the restaurant also got its first franchise in Torrance. The 100th Taco Bell restaurant was opened by 1965. PepsiCo acquired Taco Bell from Glen Bell in 1978 and the restaurant brand is currently a subsidiary of Yum! Brands which looks after the restaurant business of PepsiCo.

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque.
