I walked over to Bandanas from a nearby hotel around 5pm on a Monday. It was not busy at that time - I was in and out in 1/2 hour. I ordered the bbq chicken nachos & sweet potato fries. The fries were awesome. The nachos were simple (chips, cheese, sour cream" jalapenos & bbq chicken) but tasty. The atmosphere is family friendly - would recommend it for a quick sit down meal.

My boyfriend and I were in Collinsville today for a baseball game and decided to try Bandana's BBQ because it was close to our hotel. We enjoyed the food and our server was super friendly. I ordered the loaded BBQ baked potato that had cheese and BBQ pork and beef. It was good! It came with bread and a side so I got a salad. I had to try and get something healthy! My boyfriend ordered the chicken tenders platter and he said the meat was good. He got fries (which I tried and liked) and bread with his meal. We had a sweet tooth after our meal so we ordered the cinnamon sugar donut holes. They came out warm and fresh! I felt the food was very reasonably priced for how good it was.

Despite of it being surrounded by several chain restaurants in Collinsville, Bandana's stands out. Great BBQ, and other food! The sauces that range from sweet to hot are on the table and they taste great on anything. Very friendly staff, and great atmosphere.

We were traveling through on our drive from Texas to Chicago. We never hold out too much hope for the quality of barbecue as our expectation is so high. Banana's was a very pleasant surprise! The sausage and pulled pork were delicious, as were the baked beans. The ribs were so delish that our puppy who was traveling with us devoured the bones completely. I highly recommend this as your first choice if you are in the area.

Great BBQ, the beef brisket is amazing and the sides are too. There sauce is very tasty and the prices are reasonable with great service.

The food was really good, I had the ribs with smokey and sweet sauce and it was great. Only reason I didn't give a 5 star is I've had ribs in Texas, and if you've had ribs in Texas it seems no where else compares. My waitress was excellent and the staff was courteous. Overall I recommend.

Chicago Sweet BBQ is worth the drive alone. The food was awesome and they made real applesauce that made me smile. Yum. Can't wait to come back here

Yelp only had 28 reviews of this place but UrbanSpoon had it ranked the highest in the area. The staff is amazing. Great down home BBQ. Sauces on the table. We ordered one of everything between us and was not disappointed in anything. Great Turkey, Chicken, Pork, Beef, Ribs and Sausage. Even the sides were terrific. Highly recommended for a nice lunch or dinner with a friendly relaxed atmosphere that is easy on the wallet.

Visited while on a road trip with a hankering for BBQ. While not health food, per se, they listed the calories which was healthful and, in some instances, surprising. Overall a very nice place with excellent smoked meats and a variety of yummy sauces at the table.

My wife and I both had the Beef & Pork Combination plate and both enjoyed the meats. All of the sides were great. I gave it four stars rather than five because they did not serve either Corona or Dos Equis beer, and as a Southerner, I am used to cornbread with BBQ....they had only garlic bread.

The service was great and quick. I liked the different barbecue. I was a bit disappointed with the pork sandwich. It was just average. I have heard really great things about this place however inexpensive it may be. I guess they set the expectations too high.

On the way home from St. Louis we stopped at this local joint. My father and I were not disappointed. The waiter was very nice and even let us sample some appetizers. I ordered the pork and beef platter, it was very tender and juicy. The sauces were not a big strong point of the join. Aside from the sauces the food was good! I hope to return on a trip to St. Louis!

Bandanas is a great place to get BBQ . They really do a good job . I have been going there for years now. The staff is very friendly and helpful . The beef is my favorite . But also get the pork once in a while.

If you are looking for a good meal at a good price, this is your place. I had the choose two option with double turkey, baked potato and side salad. Everything was fresh and the baked potato was hot out the oven. There are different types of sauces on your table to try and a roll of paper towels in case you get all saucey from the ribs or whatever you put it on. The sweet tea has a good brewed taste and not overly sweet. When you go, ask for Kathy to be your server. She is AMAZING and knows her stuff/menu.

Chain or not, STILL the best ribs in STL. I stand behind each and every one of my previous reviews. Smoky flavor and a tasty goo of BBQ rub on each rib make sauce nothing but a distraction on these succulent ribs. Sorry Sugarfire.

Good smoky BBQ Drove around the place before parking. There was a guy in the back, working a smoker, so I knew it was real before I walked in. Half the cities highway patrolmen were eating there too, which gave me clue #2, I would be ok. Ordered a sampler, pulled pork & beef and begged for a sample of the sausage. The pork and beef had smoke rings as well as a smoky smell. Everything was moist and tasty. This is a chain that I would come back to.

This is a nice BBQ place. Ordered ribs and did not like them. Not much meat, lots of fat and not much flavor. Was able to get pulled pork instead .much better but mended sauces for flavor. Sides were good. Have Hadith better bit good clean place for casual meal.

Went to eat a quick dinner here during a convention, and ended up with the absolute worst food poisoning imaginable. Ate at 6PM, by 8PM was feeling nauseous, and everything was downhill from there. Violently ill all through the night and the next day, couldn't even keep water down, and ended up in the ER that night with severe dehydration, required 3 bags of fluids to get back within the low end of the "safe" range. Maybe mine was a one-time experience, maybe it wasn't, but...be cautious. Be very, very cautious.

This is a great little spot. I loved the smoked ribs. The service was great and the price was very reasonable. This isn't a fancy dining experience but it was the best "box store" restaurant I have eaten at. So good I went twice.

I ordered the BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich, cole slaw, and fried okra. This was the first time I ever tried pulled pork and fried okra. The pulled pork sandwich was delicious! I tried it with, and without, BBQ sauce--and loved both. I wound up going with a sweet sauce--Chicago, I think. The bread was very good. The meat was cooked perfectly. The overall flavor was great! The sandwich was pretty filling. The cole slaw was creamy and good. The produce was fresh. The cole slaw flavor was balanced and enjoyable. The fried okra was good, too. I don't know that I would order it again. It tasted like fried something, but I wasn't "wow-ed." I tried it plain, with the bbq sauce, and with ranch. The restaurant was clean and very casual. There's plenty of parking. There was no wait when I got there. The hostess was super friendly. She made small talk with me and she made me feel very welcome. She even opened the door for me as I left. The server was professional. She did not rush me. Service was pretty quick.

Love it here! My favorite BBQ place. The best potato salad I've ever had. For something different I get the wet chicken and turkey salad. I didn't know how I would feel about BBQ sauce on my salad but turns out it is now one of my favorite salads from anywhere.

The BEST RIBS EVER!!!! Do yourself a favor and order the whole rack. none of that slathered with BBQ sauce bullshit. straight up rubbed down with awesomeness and smoked to fall off the bone perfection. You can smell the decadence from the parking lot the okra was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Delicious! the toast was very soft yet crispy on the edges, buttery goodness.. oooohh.... the soup was just meh, don't bother. the waitress was very attentive despite having so many tables. LOVED the homemade sauces in squeeze bottles on the side. 5 total. taste them all!

Wow! Great experience! My server, Christine, was very friendly and very helpful with not only the menu but also in explaining the 5 different BBQ sauces on the table. I got a sampler - turkey and ribs. My server suggested that the ribs wouldn't need any sauce and she was right. The dry rub and smokey flavor were perfect on their own. I intentionally got the turkey so I could try all the sauces on the table. My favorite is the Bandana's original, but they were all very different and worth sampling. The only thing I didn't love was that the green beans were a little saltier than I expected. But the garlic bread was delish, so it all balanced out. I wish I had saved room for donut holes for dessert. Maybe next time! Oh, and bonus points for having calorie information on the menu. I eat out most meals during the work week because of my travel schedule and it's nice to have that so I can keep myself where I need to be nutritionally each day.

Really excellent food! And service. And sauce. And ... well, everything. The variety of offered sauces make for a great treat to determine your favorite. I had the pulled pork and beef plate. Both meats were tender, juicy, and just right. No complaints at all. My waitress, Thomassina (sp?), kicked more ass than an ass-kicking machine. Very helpful - as it was my first time. Excellent sides, quick service, fair price, great bread. I'll be back, definitely worth a stop.

Awesome food and excellent service! The servers here were the best! I had the beef and pork meal and my wife had the beef and ribs. The meat had an excellent flavor and the sauces were really good. We like spicy food so we went for the spiciest sauce they had... Recommend trying. As for sides the green beans and fried okra are pretty good as well as the corn. For dessert you should try the donut holes... Mmm Mmm! This is one time I wished that the meal would never end!

Been here quite a few times, and after a recent visit I decided to enter a review to Yelp. I have never had a bad meal at this place. Pork, turkey, chicken, brisket, sausage, it's all good. Almost as important as the quality of the food is the quantity you get, you will not leave hungry. The sauces are ok at best, nothing special. I suggest the spicy version. Good sides available with your order: green beans, baked beans, coleslaw, corn, potato salad, french fries, and I feel like I'm forgetting one. The bread served with the meal is also really good. We ordered a full slab of ribs with okra and fries. The fries were mediocre and the okra was pretty good - but we came for the ribs. They were great! They were tender but not falling off the bone. Normally, I prefer the falling off the bone style but these were delicious. The smoky flavor was perfect and one of the sauces I tried was scrumptious. I liked that they came sauce-free so I could dictate the sauciness. The service was fairly poor. We could not find our server and had to wait about 15 minutes after ordering to request another drink. I LOVE ribs and theirs were good, otherwise they would be getting 3 stars!

Very good BBQ. The meat is incredibly tender. How they can get turkey breast to be so moist is beyond my comprehension! Try the Brunswick stew - I'm now a huge fan of the stuff. Also, if you've never had boiled peanuts - these things are addictive. I think Bandanas is slightly better than the Edwardsville BBQ place - Bully's. At least a lot more consistant. Simple food, reasonable prices, very good quality.

First of all, the other review about the meat being dry and the sauces being unremarkable is definitely wrong, in my opinion. We stopped in on our way to Columbia, not really knowing what to expect. Delicious!!! The rub they use is so incredible that you barely need to use any of their signature sauces. That doesnt mean that you shouldn't try them because they are amazing! The wait staff, especially Kevin, was extremely attentive and pleasant. We are so impressed that we plan on stopping back for a meal on our way home! Definitely a barbeque gem.

Reasonable BBQ. The pulled pork was moist and the KC-style sauce was standard run-of-the-mill. I can't remember which meal I ate, but it was plenty for my money!

Another one of the places from "back home" that I miss now that I'm in Chicago-land. I've only ordered one thing here because it was recommended to me the first time we went and it was so good there's no need to venture to anything else, and that would be the pork platter. I like that the pork is more chopped than pulled, so it's more meaty than stringy. The bread that comes with it is delicious but pretty rich; there'll be no room for dessert. I love the squeeze bottles of sauce on the table. I notice that my parents tend to enjoy one particular flavor and stick with it, but I like rotating bites with every flavor of sauce. I like the regular tangy mustard based sauce the most and then the sweet and smoky one is 2nd best. Even though the Fairview Heights location was closer to home, my family preferred the Collinsville location and would driver further out because the dining room just has a better feel and energy to it.

Dry brisket, unremarkable sauces. But they've got friendly staff and sweet tea!
