Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

I love this place. From their tacos to their gorditas and one of my personal favs the burrito de asada. Pick up is usually ready within ten minutes. And if you're dining in the service is good. I see that some reviews complain about multiple waitresses checking in on them but I believe it's just out of courtesy. I do not tip each one I just leave my tip on the table and walk away. I love the agua de tamarindo although all of them are great.

My go to place when I think of getting a Burrito. El Especial burrito is not one you should ignore. Always flavorful, always savory. This place is very consistent with their food. Not once when I have eaten in or taken out that have I had a bad experience. Their agua de Jamaica is refreshing. Not too sweet, not to bland. This place is one of the few places that is open late so it's a plus that the food is great. Definitely your $$ worth.

Great place but it's always crowded so I'll rather take out. Delicious food but they always take long even after they told me to pick it up in 30min always takes me around 10min to receive it. But other than time wise it's a great place to eat!

My wife and son and I ate here for breakfast. They each had chicken burritos and I had one beef torta and one potato and chorizo gordita. We all thoroughly enjoyed the food! The bread on which my torta was served was light, fluffy, warm and absolutely delicious. All ingredients were fresh and tasty. The location is a bit out of the way, but worth the drive. Also, the help speaks very little English, but they certainly helped us through with ordering (the menu is in both English & Spanish). Also it's cash only.

My favorite place to go eat after work. Best tacos and gorditas around. Awesome service and even better food. I always recommend this place since it's authentic and will leave you wanting more

Tacos were authentic... Just like I like them!!! Al pastor y lengua are the best so far. Waitresses are polite and fast. I will definitely frequent here more often.

I give this place a low rating purly for the poor poor customer service experiences my husband and I have had here. They tag team your table so you feel inclined to tip both servers. Its extremly annoying. On our last trip there we ordered the torta, and tried to cancel it and was told no its already made. When it came it was awful! Worst torta ive ever had here in Chicago. We asked to talk to a manager and no one came to speak with us. Instead they all stood in a circle pointing at our table and speaking in spanish. I must add they know only my husband speaks spanish and I dont. My husband would speak for in english so I could understand but they would only respond in spanish. As we got up to pay they make rude comments and all of then came uo to take a turn telling us we waste food. Just plain horrible customer service! You can get just as good food and prices else where!

Al pastor gordita is the best!

Really good real Mexican food. They do authentic Mexican food, and they do it right. So I had had tortas, gorditas, and burritos and everything is good. My favorite here are the gordita de asada with cheese and rajas (poblanos pepper), veggie burrito is some how different and so good. Bisctec a la Mex. is also really good. I'm crazy about champurrado and the good thing is that they have some killer champurrado here. The bad thing is that they have it only in winter. They also have mex bottled drinks, horchata and jamaica. Service is really nice and attentive, you may have a little language problem but they manage. The place is nice and simple. It gets crowded on the week ends, and I mean crowded. But is is worth it. Price wise, it is pretty affordable. La Haciendita, good authentic Mex food and good service.

Terrible restaurant! Extremely rude customer service. I hope they stop deleting every review that they feel hurts their reputation, because people need to know the truth. My wife and I had come here plenty of times before, the food was ok and not overpriced. To start off, every night we ate here, the always switched our server for our table, we had about 3 women helping us each time, and they do that so you tip every single one, its very sneaky and annoying. And if you happen to order the wrong thing, they dont care, they bring it to your table and make you pay for it. One night I simply did not want a torta my wife had ordered, and before it got to us we decided to cancel, but they complained that it was already made so they brought it out anyway. So we asked for a manager and instead all the women got together and chatted for 20 minutes before we decided to just get up and go see what the problem was, and as I paid for my meal, I refused to pay for what I had already cancelled before receiving and never ate! Besides, it actually looked disgusting compared to their main specialty (tacos) and they proceeded to tell me and my wife insults as we walked out the door. Do not waste your money here, there are very nasty women that pretend not to speak english just to avoid helping you. This business should be shut down, what a disgrace! I will take my big money spending business to manolo's!

TRIPE TACOS! TRIPE TACOS! TRIPE TACOS! TRIPE TACOS! It's that simple these are the best tripe tacos in the city and maybe the world because the tripe here is well cooked and seasoned and they make you want to order more and more! I recently reviewed the other place as well and I can honestly say that this joint beats it in terms of it's tacos! and superior service you will get promptly attended here and you don't have to wait 20 or so minutes to get your food unlike the other joint on 3322 W 47th St ( read my review on the other Haciendita for the differences between both eating establishments) and to clarify this place is a total win for the tripe tacos alone they are truly the best of the best, that is unless you hate tripe and if you do well shame on you! Bonus points for attractive waitresses (not to be a sexist but there are some really fine mamacitas here;) FYI If you don't speak english don't worry they will work with you k.

I have been going to place for over 7 years and it one of my favorite Mexican restaurants! The food is so delicious that it gets really packed on weekends. I have had almost everything from the menu like the torta, gordita, tacos and enchiladas and everything has been delicious! I highly recommend this place! Overall, the service is friendly.
